Morning as I sit and cough looking at what I'm sure will be a sunshine day! What I wouldn't give to be home but on the brighter side I'll have tomorrow after my early morning doctor appointment and the entire weekend..let's hope the sunshine decides to stay!
Ohh Thunder, what a blessing to have a grandaughter, wouldn't trade my 4 grandsons but what a treat had I had a little girl to fuss over. Malena sure is a character..imagine Pepe is Malena lived but down the street, poor dear! Lol. Did you manage to get some days switched so up you could spend more time together..when will the next get together be?
Susan, hooe it didn't leak all over into the truck, that would have been a disaster. As for pruning,mthose old lilac bushes were half dead wood, needed to be badly pruned, I didn't know just how much..gives me a good idea where to plant more shrubs though.
Debbie, will she be able to go to work in a few days?? Isn't that soon??
Oops look at the time, be back in a bit!!
Best,worse,what did I learn today? Visit with friends
Betty, she is supposed to go to work at 2:00 today....but I think her boss is putting a stop to that. She is on what they call a phone bank, taking calls to help people with their mortgages and such. I will drive her there and back until she can drive. The thing is....her boss is trying to stop her from working. She has no other income and major bills (apartment, car, insurance) and she needs to go in. She has to call them this morning.
Sun is shining but a bit chilly, Have a good morning
Debbie
Life sure isn't easy when because of finances you have to go to work in pain!
Always sounds wonderful for these young ones to get out on their own but then comes reality..when you are just making it, something gets thrown in there to set you back big time..
Guess she didn't go to work.. does she know the ragging goes on top as to tickle Huck!!!
She looks so comfy and sick..lordy how did she think she could put a day in..needs mom's homemade soup!
She goes into work at 2:00...so won't leave here til 1:30ish.
drats, thought she would at least stay home 1 day!
Work wouldn't give her a full day off, she does work two 1/2 days though. How thoughtful of them.
Hope she does not over do it!
That's crazy..if a boss here said you couldn't have an aft. shift off when you are ill or just operated on they would be in soooo much do/do..shaking my head! Guess people (employers) because of the job situtation I guess they feel anything goes...well if she doesn't feel well and gets sick on the job they will have to send her home on their own!!
Lordy the wind is up, went across the street for lunch at Wendy's and it's strong enough it could have blown me into the next country..kind of exagerating here but not by much lol
I did my Mother's Day 'to do list' here on computer and made 2 copies, one for each boy..they can't go home till all is done..lol..but to be fair, I made a Betty's Chorse list as well for the weekend, even Steven as they say!!! let's see who completes their list first.
Tonight and tomorrow I'll purchase supply materials that way comes Saturday morning work weekend is a 'go'
what do you all have planned..are you all as nutzy as I with lists and things..
oh........... so bad she's not able to take the time off she needs, to rest.........
Debbie - for some reason I couldn't open the pic..........
Not doing much here, we are going back to San Antonio for more testing on Todd's ears, so looks like we will got to T.G.I/ Friday's for dinner, and of course a few fabric stores along the way!
of Course a few (only a few????) fabric stores on the way lol
Here's hoping that the testing on his ears shows positive results, and that he's able to continue with his job............
Sure hoping LindaKay that the end result is what you are looking for..are you going and right back or will you have a day or so with Dylan?
was busy after work, Dropped into Fabricland to pick up outdoor fabric and some fabric for jelly roll swap, Lordy, 4 packages did not arrived and i have postal slip to show they've been mailed but did not arrive to their destination. I had sent all the material purchased for each in their packets so Fabricland for more...hoping to get parcels out tomorrow while I'm n Midland.
Then the nursery, bought a mock orange and a Japanese Kierie, diggerent color than my other ne..
Stopped and did groceries, that is out if the way, I'll get up at the same time tomorrow morning and make meatballs and start spaghetti sauce, boys would enjoy that much better than Chinese ..have to feed my workers something. Lol
Planted the shrubs, Thought I'd get another hour of yard work outside and burn but the wind is so strong no can do!
Instead its a hot bath then look at this weeks flyers, with it being Mothers Day weekend I'm sure there will be sales galore, NOT that I need anything, just nice to look. Lol
Andy and Family are out of town for the week-end, so we are having dinner with my DIL and Granddaughter. Also my friend Katie will be joining us. She has one more chemo treatment next week, and she is soooo looking forward for it to be over! She has lost all her hair, so she has found some really nice wigs and scarves to wear.
Sounds like it will be a nice outing for you LindaKay..nice that you will get to spend time with your friend..let's hope she is on the way to recovery and no more chemo needed. What a job they do on wigs now days, can't tell they aren't a persons real hair.
Will be a LNG day for you..are you feeling ok?
Yes, it is nice that the wigs nowadays are so life-like. Does Katie have any of those knitted (crocheted, too) caps they make for cancer patients? They're so cute, and I was going to make some for my sister when she thought she'd have to have chemo.
Yes, I am feeling much better, thanks!
I don't think she has any of the crochets caps. Just scarves, and a wig.
Then there is a chance to rid myself of this, you had it about 4 weeks right?
Just opened the bedroom window, nice breeze coming in..may rid the house of germs.
Kyle dropped in for a visit..told me all about his day and new job. I'm sorry that he's aging!
Life is moving much too quickly.
yeah, you will get rid of the crud soon I hope!
Funny how kids grow up so fast!
Looking for the night shift, all sleeping I guess!
I'm here!!
I'm a Happy Camper!
I found a pattern I want for my Round Robin Quilt center - it's a Peacock, AND I found my iron-on transfer pencil. I just finished printing my pattern, drawing around the outlines of the bird, and have ironed it on the fabric.
NOW, to get busy embroidering it so I can send it off to my "next in line" (vBgrin!!)
It's very Satisfying to find something you've been looking for, and to get a good start on a project!!
Good for you Susan, likely it was right under your nose..now the work begins
Morning everyone! You ladies were up late?
Betty, please let us know how it goes at the Dr. this morning!
Morning All1
First let me say Dianne that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Yes, Dear Santa Warren is in a beautiful place, but he is still here with us all in our hearts and thoughts and always will be. Gentle, but big arm wraps((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))for you now and down the road when you need it most. We are all beside you as you travel this road.
Susan, I'm also sorry to hear of your loss of your dear friend. (((((((((HUGS))))))))))) for you also.
I'm sorry I haven't checked in for awhile, but have been busy. I was outside already this AM and came in to have some breakfast and pay a bill. I thought I'd check in and see what has been happening. Sorry to hear of all the sadness and hope that all are doing better. Prayers are with you all.
Tubby's Sister found her husband dead last Friday. The funeral was Wed. I didn't go, but did send a card and memorial. The family doesn't talk or have anything to do with me, so won't subject myself to hearing mean things said to me or being miss treated so knew enough to stay away. It is sad, and she will have a rough road for awhile, they had a falling out with their youngest boy, he lives in Arizona. He came back, but got into it with his Mother when he told her he was coming out to see me. She stopped him from being able to go to the funeral. What a shame they have to be like that. The son looks like Tubby's twin, he even laughs like him. He knows how they all are, but it's still sad. May God help them all.
The Doc came out and took one small load of cages, but will bring his trailer for the rest. I think he'll buy the rest of the roll of wire and any steel stakes I don't want. He may be interested in 1 or 2 of the small buildings I will get rid of also.
I stopped working yesterday and played for a while on building a bird house for my DS in MO. I thought I'd surprise her with it. If it ends up okay I may build on for my DD.
Well, I had better get back outside and get something accomplished. I will try to check back in sooner. If some one could D mail me Dianne's address please I would love to send a card and memorial. Thank you for your help.
Hope you all have a great day and chat later.
Shirley
Back from doctor and hospital..
First of all had the insurance agent had the right diagnosis I would have agreed with her, she said sugar diabities and was way off target!
I was 1/2 hr. early for my appointment, no sooner did I sit and get a magazine did Dr Jileson come in, looked at his watch and said 'boy you are early'. Nodded, Lordy I had already been to Timbrr mart as I got a call yesterday asking me to drop in, basically wanted to know if they could drop off shed supplies..then asked seeing the young builders mom and grandmother will be out of town could he come Sunday..fine by me
Went to Canadian tire for 2 clematis and lilac tree, then to SuperStore for a new blue cup gourd hosta
Had all the stores I needed to shop at open I could have had my weekend chores done!
Read for a few minutes and didn't my sister-in-law Marg come, her appt was 9:15. She was early as well so had a nice chat.
Now to my appointment, he took as much time as I needed to be clear of the situation..
When I was in early 20's my kidneys gave up..the kidney specialist Doctor Doctor (Jileson laughed today, said he still remembers the day that he asked what my specialist name was I said doctor, he said no, your doctors last name, I said doctor, he said you aren't listening to me, what is your doctor's family name..finally got through that it was Doctor Doctor' lol,
Bit of humor, anyway dr, Doctor said that my kidneys from years of infection were like a leather glove, all shriveled, one leaving about 1/8th working and the other a bit better than 1/4-1/2 and I needed surgery..would not remove the 1/8th because if something went wrong I could live on it. Was told no children..didn't listen, first child taken away because I would not have survived, got pregnant for Greg, spent my pregnancy in hospital, got pregnant for Jeff, not sick one day, fot pregnant immediately and was on deaths door..then came surgery..was told I had to be very careful and when showing signs of infection I would have to get to a dr, ASAP.
Jileson told me today that the insurance tests showed puss/white cells and blood in my urine..high amounts..Jileson said its a warning that something is brewing in my body..sent me for tests at the hospital, booking several others and booking appt with kidney specialist in Barrie
In the meantime I am to go every and do urine/blood tests to make sure I'm holding my own..always knew the kidneys might kick up, just strange that my back isn't pulsating, running a fever and sleeping 24/7. Maybe I'm not yet there..might have caught things ..
Asked about meds to help with my cough/hacking, he said nothing he could give me would help, continue what I'm doing and know it sometime can last 6 weeks..oh happy days
So all is fine on this sunshine day, have plants/shrub to plant, re upholster a metal bench seat that I just sprayed black, metal that is..do it every spring so that is behind me
Phones are back with me so I only took 3 hrs off, shift ends at 3:00 so outside to play I go.
Morning ashirley, nice to see you posting! Sounds like you at staying busy, cleaning and building birdhouses!
Betty, sure hope what ever is brewing, is caught early!
Finally you are getting some answers Betty. If you show signs of infection like that, no wonder you are run down and catching every cold that comes along. Your resistance is obviously very low. I'd be sending a thank you note to the insurance co for catching this as your own doctor didn't....Has he put you on any new meds for the kidneys? I'll be keeping you close in my prayers.
Said prayers this morning for you Dianne that each day will get a bit easier. Only time can ease your heart I know but Norm and I want you to know that we care and that we wish we could be there.
So happy to see you posting now and again Shirley. It sounds like you are keeping yourself busy. What a shame about Tubby's family. They must be a bitter and lonely bunch to go so far as to shun the son. You have done your part so I would think you may rest easy. I don't know how people like that can rest at all.... I still think you moving closer to your own family would be great for you...Keeping you in my prayers.
Thea, how are you doing with this vertigo? Has it cleared up any? I get it occasionally but only when faced with a height situation. I get so dizzy and lightheaded. Is there anything that helps with it?
I had my first pulmonary rehab session yesterday. I had to walk 6 minutes for an evaluation - only made it just past 2 minutes before I had to sit. Rested a bit and then did 2.5 minutes more. My legs have no strength and I get sooo short of breath. Then I worked on an eliptical machine for a while-did okay on that. Then an upper body machine and made it to 8 minutes on that. They want me to try to do 10 minutes on any one machine. Then they tried me on the treadmill going as slow as possible. I only made it 2 minutes before my blood oxygen went down to 84 and my heartbeat went up to 140!!!! No more treadmill for me I guess. We had a Reiki session and then a lecture about how sleep affects your breathing. I go again next Tuesday.
Must get some lunch so I'm ~~~~to everyone.
Had an interesting breakfast guest this morning too....Think he was one of last year's cubs....
Shirley - sooo good to see you posting. It must be nice to see your nephew (?) and how much he looks like Tubby.... Sad that you wouldn't be welcome at a passing of a (former) family member. How dysfunctional is that? And to know the son is not welcome either??? Very dysfunctional.......
Betty - glad they've found out what's wrong!! Finally, some closure!!! And well, colds are colds, eh? Getting lots of rest is obviously the way to go. Will help you on both counts. Dr. Doctor lol No wonder your other Dr was confused LOL
Barb - your having to walk for 6 minutes sounds like my ability - Maybe I'd be able to "push" for 3 minutes..... Hope things improve for you.
Thea - how are you?
I'm off to help a friend shift some boxes of stuff and get them to a donation center. She can't lift like she used to, and would like help putting them in her car, then taking them out at the center.
Well, busy working also, on my embroidery center for the Round Robin - think I'll do a border around each section, then use fabric paint to fill it in. I'm really pleased with finding a peacock to do - it's lovely. Here's the printed copy, and I've transferred it to white fabric, and started the outside embroidery of each section :-)
Oh oh Barb, hope the mommy is around!
Will take some time to build yourself up..you will be impressed I'm sure as the weeks go by how much your breathing improves, well at least that is my wish for you. Interesting fact about the sleeping and breathing..think Ann attends reiki, I'll have to ask her more about it!
No meds yet, wants to have me go for tests before he prescribes meds..funny thing, with my coughing/hacking I've run to washroom several times..told Suzanne that I could smell sulfur, always not a good sign then it slipped my mind..
Omg wrote what was before, knock came to door, neighbor asking if he could get some men together could he have the shed...oh happy says if he can get it apart and use it...
He is gone home for drill, I've just put extension cords out so cross you fingers that it works
Sure would make my boys happy. Lol
Hello Everyone!!!!! Sorry I've been gone all week, work has happened this time lol go figure!
Dianne sending warm hugs and lots of thoughts and prayers.
Shirley so glad to see you posting once in a while! Tubby's family, iye yey yey!
Betty I hope you get that infection knocked out, that's scary!
Debbie hope she heals fast, I agree it would have been nice to have one day off to rest and heal a bit but bills do need to be paid. What do you do?
~~~~~~~~ to everyone!!
Back to the grind I go!
Ohhh looked who dropped in Crissy and Shirley!! Made my day...
10 more minutes and I'm off the clock..
Corey came over, took all the screws out that holds the shed to the floor, trying to round yo some men..drats all in their 30's-40's. Lol. But as Debbie would say, eye candy
I'm not so sure they will be successful though seeing as I've gardens and trees all over the place..that will be the challenge. If Corey didn't have to go to Collingwood to work tomorrow I'd say wait until my boys come to help, but he will have to find his own muscle men..hoping they don't trample my flowers.
Worse that can happen is they can't. Get it across the street, best, most of the work will be done for the boys. Lol
yaaaay Betty - how nice to save your boys the work, but "eye candy" is relative....... guys in their 30s/40s can be eye candy lol
siiiiiiiigh - y'know what it's like when it's said "if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all"??
Well, a friend asked me to help her with taking some stuff down to a thrift shop, and when she was driving me home Bob called to say he was stuck in the meridian just as he was going to turn into our park........ his truck "died".......
Good thing my car was fixed on Friday........
However (and here's the bad part) he is helping a friend in the same park and has been picking up supplies (lumber, etc) to work on her home & flower berm & yard. We can't haul lumber in my small car....... darn, darn, darn.
Another person from the park happened to need to turn at the same spot into the park. He has a truck with a tow chain so he got Bob into the park, but at the main office, so there Bob's truck sits, until we can get in touch with our neighbour/mechanic to see if he can fix it. I hope it's not a computer chip thing, cuz Richard knows Nothing about computerized parts in a vehicle.
Here's hoping it's not expensive to fix, either........
Shirley, sorry to hear about all the drama Tubby's family is still giving you, I've been there and thank the Lord I had like you the smarts to put it aside..some things aren't worth using energy to fight for.
Glad the doctor will take the cages/wire and looking at other items..less you will have to clean should you sell!
Susan, shaking my head here..drats that is not good and you sure didn't need this. Let's hope it's something minor.
I really should go out and do a few things but all of a sudden I feel lazy..made spaghetti sauce and lots of it so supper is ready, a hot bath would feel great but if I'm needed outside later when the men come for the shed I don't whT o be in my nightie
Someone give me a quick swift kick n the bـ># please!
Ohhh advertising for the 50. Million draw tonight, should go get a few more tickets
Betty - why do you need a "swift kick"??????
Because the couch was calling, far too nice out and so much to do that I had to get some energy..which I did...
Wow talk about easy, they 3 guys 2 gals moved it across the street just like pro's
In the wood that was delivered today they took a few beams, put it under the shed and carried it..bit of problem getting around my gardens but did manage to. Corey however went into the garden and wouldn't you know the Japanese kerria that I bought yesterday that I said had thorns like roses cut his leg, almost had them convinced to take gazebo but no go..oh well doesn't matter that will only take an hour to take down and not much to dispose of..I've got 1/2 the yard cut, will finish tomorrow morning..hot bath calling
It's amazing what young people can do, eh?
Ouch......... the Japanese kerria Bit him.......... youch!
Too bad they couldn't take the gazebo too...........
Hello To All !
Well - Betty - I'm so glad you were checked so thoroughly however I do wish they would do blood work and look for pertussis....at least you have some answers or direction...
((HUGS)) Barb that sounds like a grueling day...
Oh Shirley - I too agree with the above... Hope Karma comes back for those folks and good for the nephew who can see the truth through all. Wondering what your timeline is for your move. I want to send you a plant out when once you get settled in your new location.
Susan (sigh) hope the bad luck is over!!! Crissy - don't work too hard now.... LK - did your cassia ever make it? how is the weather there .....
(HUGS) To all. Yes this has been a tough week. Banquets for DDS2 the last 2 nights.
Mary - As much as I feel in the Lord's grace...... I don't think the physical world likes me ROFL just kiddin'!!!
It looks like it may be Bob's fuel pump, and Richard's going to get a part for it - he can get discounts on things, so here's hoping.... if it's not that, Richard has an idea about what it is, and he'd try that next.
Bob had my car and Richard's gf's car boosting his 2 batteries, and even used ether on the motor (spark plugs?) to see if he could get a spark, but no...........
Anyway, we'll see what Richard can do. At least his prices are reasonable, and the truck is in the park, so not far away.
