Thinking of Dianne tonight, just at a loss for words..
Spoke to my family of the battle Santa Warren fought to be with his sweetie..a hard battle..I too am glad with we're with him when he left to be with the Lord!

Debbie do you know if there will be a memorial? A donation request to the cancer society?
Please let us know if you get details..

Had the family for dinner, Greg and Kyle left for the movies, wanted to see adventures..Noah went to paintball farm and he was worn out, Melanie had taken the dogs to the public dog park and one was attacked so she had a headache..

We did decide to watch a movie I had seen and recommended, so just before Greg left he ordered it on pay per view..no sooner had he left with Larry a friend of his did we notice he ordered it in Swedish with English sub titles, shaking my head sooo Melanie and Noah decided to head home, oh oh Kyle had the keys in his pocket so I drove them home..

Will clean my kitchen mess, have a bath and head to bead.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

laughing about Greg ordering a Swedish movie with English subs....... lol
And Kyle not leaving his keys for the car........
Seems they've gotten their minds on other things? Does this mean they're "over 60" now, too? LOL

Lyndonville, NY

I am not 100% positive, but I believe Dianne said it was Warrens wish to not have a service and to be cremated.
I am sure a memorial gift in his memory would touch Dianne very much. Give her some time, and I am sure she will tell us her preference

.

((((HUGS)))) Dianne.... I don't know what to say but what is written above is said so beautifully.
Let us know if there is a special place we can donate in Santa Warren's Honor.......

Amen ...

I hope she won't mind, but I started a prayer thread. She's always there praying for me ... she's been a special prayer warrior for so many of us here on DG.

Thank you Suse - posted there...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you - I've posted.........

Victoria Harbour, ON

thank you Suse, posted as well!

Thoughts are with you this morning Dianne...

Odd kind of sky this morning, half very dark as though it will rain shortly and the other filled with sunshine.

Will head for work this morning..won't say I'm 100% better but sure am on my way to recovery, thank the Lord for that!

As I opened the door for the furries I remembered yesterday the vine seeds I had started that had a good start I had planted in containers and set out to get some sunshine yesterday, was to have brought them in..drats, forgot all about them so imagine that is the end of them..would not have survived cool night. Now I remember why I don't pre start my seeds.

Gab later

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I have posted there as well. Holding you close Dianne.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Betty, glad to hear you are on the road to recovery! Hope your vines make it!

Hey y'all ...
I started the prayer forum so she'd have a place to go back to. Sometimes these old threads can bring a lot of comfort later on. I knew there would be others outside of our group that might want to post, too. I think it's really wonderful when we hold each other up in prayre.

Betty, so sorry about your little plants. Does it get too cold in Canada for you to overwinter? That would be a good way to do it ... Then you don't have to worry about bringing them in. Maybe you could find a place where the furries couldn't get to them and start some next winter? Just sayin ... LOL

Susan, what's the status with you and your DH?

Barb, sending up prayers for you today ...

Katie, thinking about you and hope you're able to work things out for your upcoming surgery.

Okay, more coffee is needed if I'm going for a walk this morning ...

I can certainly vouch for the comfort going back to the prayer thread offers, I go back to the ones for my Mom many times.

Suse' thanks for doing that.

Debbie

It's so very hard when you've lost someone and know what emotions one goes through to understand what feelings Dianne is having..so wish one of us could be with her

Suse, best I stick to purchasing greenhouse plants/vines..

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

My heart just aches for you Dianne...big hugs coming your way...(posted on the prayers thread)

Wish I could be with Dianne...but at the moment having a health crisis myself. Been having pretty bad vertigo for the last 2 days and can only sit or stand otherwise I am very dizzy. Have Doc appointment at noon today and my sister will drive me and be with me.

love and hugs to all
Thea

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thea, hope it can be remedied with meds. What a terrible feeling being off balance
Glad you have your sister to take you..please update us when you get home..

Well, new gazebo being picked up once Greg finishes work today, "another take down old/put up new" to do for Saturday, if I keep this up they will have to work the midnight shift to get it all done. Couldn't talk Darlene out of buying it, something she felt she wanted (had) to do sooo home it comes. I will drop into Midland tonight and buy screens, although I don't use them and will pick up new top that way once this one rots from sun I will have another and won't be panicking because I have to buy another gazebo. Darlene said when she dropped the receipt off to Greg he looked real impressed that he had to pick it up after work..

Lordy, on a real coughing/hacking jag..

Thea ... hugs to you! Hope you feel better soon!

Betty, that sounds so pretty. How sweet of her. I'm sure you mean the world to her ...

Debbie, I knew you'd especially understand ... How's your gang today?

I just got back from my walk , and I'm Starvin Marvin ... Off to find me some lunch ...

Lyndonville, NY

Well, my gang is smiling as the cable guy was here. haha He was a cutie! Izzy liked him and Huck even said hello.

Shane is back in Canandaigua for his last ten days of school and I am getting everything ready for "The childs" knee surgery Wednesday.
She will probably be staying here for a few days....getting the screws removed from her surgery 2 years ago.

What did you find for lunch Suse'? I made an egg with mushrooms & cheese scramble. It was really good.

Going out with my camera for a bit, my lilacs are starting to bloom!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Debbie, you already have lilacs, not likely I'll have any for several weeks..lucky you! Amen for cable guys, need something to get our hearts beating a little faster. Not sure why I thought that Shane was done and home for the summer. So it means one more trip to pack all his belongings..they don't keep same accommodation or room mates do they for next year?

Haven't had lunch yet so you both are making me hungry..maybe swiss chalet chicken dinner is in order..try not to
go there often as the metal garden shop is right there beside it..lol

Suse, yes we have been very close for going on 10 years..it's more that I didn't get the gift Mike wanted me to have and she feels it's something he'd want her to do..couldn't talk sense to her, I already have gazebo up, top is ok for this year but she thinks with the metals flowerings it would blend in better, who am I to argue right?

Suzanne is leaving early today, I'll pick up lunch, perhaps do a bit of shopping, go get a box to pack up swap items to mail tomorrow so that should look after my hour lunch.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here is my Ms. Missy enjoying the day with me yesterday!

Just need to purchase some bevels to go around the outside and I'll have a piece for my bedroom, not sure why, the canopy hides the window lol

Dianne - my prayers are also with you and SW. He is at peace and you were with him at the end. As much a blessing at such a loss can be.

Thanks for the suggestions. I posted in the Ca. forum and will see what happens there. I also checked out craiggslist. If nothing comes through the Ca. forum I might find a room for rent there.

Still gettingover the bug I had. Here's something funny about it: I had one spell of fairly violent vomiting. The next day my back was very sore around my right shoulder blade and I thought it had made my frozen shoulder worse. It's been a few days now, the pain is gone and my right arm is much better. Maybe Kaiser needs a vomitorium!!

My new computer is coming by mailing and is due here Wednesday after which I can head for home. I am still kind of weak from the flu so I think this will work out though I'm anxcious to be on the road again.

hugs all around, especially Dianne and crissy, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, so many virus's actually going around that it's hard to tell what causes what. Hardly a person in the area that hasn't been ill. As for waiting for a few days, probably the best thing you can do, make sure you are healthy before taking the long drive back home..Tony I'm sure has everything under control. You will see such a difference in your gardens when you get home. Sure hope this computer does the trick, will be nice for you to have dependable access.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - keeping you in my heart & prayers........
Betty - so glad you're getting over your cold! You'll be able to see the stained glass from the inside anyway :-)
Thea - I know from other friends having vertigo that it's no fun......... keeps you in your seat for days on end I hear.......
Katie - glad you're getting over your "bug", and wish you good luck on the CA forum and craigslist!
Debbie / Betty - one with lilacs and the other only Weeks away from them blooming? It will be 1 1/2 MONTHS before my late blooming lilacs show......... right now you have to go up to the tree to see the tiny leaves lol
Suse - nothing new on the perm job front for either me or my DH, but he's getting "side jobs" from people who need hardwood floor install, repair of leaky roof and window....... etc, etc, etc. It's "keeping our heads above water".
I got a letter from the gov't employment insurance dept, and they want me to go to an Information Session, which they say will help me get a job, etc. They warn that if I don't go I may lose my benefits. LIKE THAT IS A PROBLEM??? I Want to work............ please?!?!?! I suppose there are those that abuse the system, but not moi!! I really hope this helps...... :-)
I'm going to phone them and see if Bob can get in on it too........his benefits run out in 3 weeks.......

Omgosh, Katie, glad the pain is better, but that doesn't sound like a fun way to get rid of it! LOL

Debbie, I had that garlic lime chicken from the recipe forum. I can't remember who posted it now ... Terry perhaps or Melody? Yum, Yum! We have it every few weeks, and there's always enough for my lunch!

Okay, I'm wrestling the laundry monster so gotta go whack him another one! LOL

Hi Susan, cross posted and saw you when I was correcting my "wack to Whack"! Guess y'all know by now I can't spell! LOL

That's great news ... hope it works out. Wish you were closer. My hardwood floors need refinishing. Bet he could do that!

Betty, love that stained glass piece your working on! So pretty!
Katie, glad you have your plans all worked out, and I sure hope you find someplace to stay during your knee surgery.

Susan, good luck on the job hunt tomorrow! Hope they can find both of you a job!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Suse, probably your area like mine is short of handymen..construction is soooo in demand of workers that few who are capable want to waste their time on odd jobs..I've been trying to get my brother for almost a year to come and panel or drywall small room where I have my computer and the furnace..no go..it's to the point now he doesn't even answer my calls..lol..that is brothers for you!

mouth watering at your lemon lime chicken..tasty I bet!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gave me something to do while at home ..

quiet day here so made it easy for me not having to gab and starting to hack, how about you, all better now?
Imagine the humidity like the dampness here doesn't help.

Susan, they do same here, just a process they go through, guess they want to keep their jobs as well.

Trying to decide if I want to go to Midland on my way home to purchase the additional tarp or wait for another day, couch is looking better as the hours progress..amazing how tired you get doing nothing!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - it's May 24th that the Information Session is...... and they send out letters randomly telling people they need to go. If we don't have jobs by then, I'll be More Than Happy to go.......
Yeah Betty - they do want to keep their jobs lol Wish I could LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yep, would be nice to know you get to go work every Monday morning and not have the worries.

got to Zellers in Midland just as Greg was driving away, got the additional top, wow $129.99 almost as cheap to buy another gazebo..so once the new gazebo is put up I should have 2 or 3 years with the top it came with and add same for the extra one I bought, by then likely I'll be too old to sit n a gazebo. Lol

Bath running, meds and early night.

DSD1 is on her way home from college tomorrow... will stay the summer here....

Shirley - have a note to myself to send you a Rum Runner Hibby... should I wait till you move ? most my cuttings over winter I killed with root rot... but I can start to take new cuttings and see what happens....
Suse - your planter is precious.....
Thea - OMG hope you are feeling better gal.......
Katie - will you be headed home soon ?
Deb - maybe the Child will be better at home now she has had a taste of living on her own?

(hugs)
Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I must admit to having a bit of the "green eyed monster" in me when I hear about others going to their jobs, but then I remember "they've earned their jobs, and it's not likely one I could do LOL
My brother used to say, when I asked him how he was....... and his answer was "same as always". Yes, I'd like my life to be boringly the same - same job, pay, routine............
Ah well, we all have our Crosses to bear, and some people have terrible bossy bosses and co-workers, and I don't wish their jobs on anyone!!
I have such lovely support systems with my IRL friends, and my online friends, that I'm very grateful!!! You have no idea how very grateful for what I have!!! Hurray for Prayer Warriors for all in need!!

Thumbnail by Tallulah_B

Just checking in before I turn in tonight. I'm hurting for Dianne ...

Thea, did you find out anything from the DR today?

Mary, is that a wahoo on the DSD1 being home for the summer? LOL

Susan, yes ... we have so many things to be thankful for ... We know you need a job right now. It's okay to need prayers for yourself ... ☺

Betty, wow, you sure do turn in early, gal! Maybe you need to call the cable guy for a bit of excitement? evil grin ...

sssshhhh Now Debbie, Don't you start!! Mercy!

Okay, now that I've stirred things up, might as well wander off to bed ... LOL
See y'all in the morning!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Susan - I Wasn't asking for prayers for myself....... sorry if it sounded that way. I was just admitting that I sometimes have the "green-eyed monster" in me, and I feel so ashamed of that.
hahahaha Sounds like I'VE "stirred things up" too LOL

Oh now Susan ... I didn't take it that way at all! I was telling you to let us pray for you sometimes ... I didn't see anything in your post at all! I want things to work out for you 2, that's it in a nut shell. And now the DH has deserted me ... Off to snuggle with him. Why even Moses has gone to bed! LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol you're a jewel, Susan - you truly are. Just when I think I'm mis-speaking, you let me know I Haven't stuck my foot in my mouth LOL

s'funny - tonight I was watching "Rameses - Wrath of God or Man" and in mid-sentence it switched over to "Undercover Boss, International" wah huh? wuzzup with that? I was looking forward to the next show which was one on Cleopatra, and another biblical one to follow. Now I can't find any of them on TV - darn it anyway, with the scheduling, eh?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, hope you are able to rest tonight..bet the furries need extra attention, missing Santa Warren as well.

a cable guy would probably all I need to fix all my woes/aches and pains..best you find me one, I'll buy the plane ticket...now what qualities would he need to put up with me? Lol
Went back to look at that lovely planter, I've never seen those kind of planters, very pretty. Your hubby sure is handy in designing garden art, there you go, he could be given the plane ticket! Did you plant trailers in them? They will be beatiful once in full bloom.

I do go to bed early but then I'm up at 5:00-5:30.. I do better eRly morning then late night.
Woke up nauseated, almost a feeling off I'll at ease like there is impending doom..hate that feeling.

Mary are you looking forward to having her home for the summer? Will she have summer employment? With all the growing up she has done over this past year likely you'll not want to see her go back to college. How is work going? Witchypoo behaving..your friend that just started, making out ok?

Jean, you ok? Miss your posts!

Suse, with nice weather you will be having over the next few days you finally should be able to get out for yard duty..

Was raining tonight so I couldn't walk the gardens to see what is coming up..hard to believe i'll have flowers next month..noticed leaves on front yard trees have opened to about 1"..

Should try to sleep

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes............. where is our Jean?

Betty - I know that feeling......... I hope your "feeling of impending doom" is just one of rain, or snow or something like that..... Try to sleep a bit more - you're still not over that cold if you're still having coughing fits.

Thea - take care, and feel better soon!
