Prayers are said here as well for Dianne and Warren. I think I'll not complain about waiting ever again. This must be so hard for Dianne. To want and not to want something is so difficult. Holding you close my friend....
Best, worse, what did I learn today? Visit with friends
Morning all, overcast and wind is up, had hoped to be outside for a bit today but furries didn't even want out so guess its inside I shall be!
Hope you on the other hand have something exciting to share..
Thoughts and prayers with Dianne and Santa Warren
Barb, what is the gameplan, we're you pleased with the outcome?
I start pulomnary rehab next Thurs. I will go tues and thurs each week until the therapist and my pulmonary dr feel I'm as good as I'll get before surgery. I have the feeling it may be as long as 8 to 10 weeks depending on how well I do. Just with the evaluation meeting yesterday, I learned things about taking my meds that I should have been told years ago!!!Now that I will be taking them correctly, I'm hoping things will improve quicker. (I complained a bit about not being told about the how-to-dos and she said it is most likely because they can't take the time in a 15 minute visit.) Boy did that make me mad inside. What is the point of taking a med if you don't take it correctly??? Plus, there were no instructions in with the packaging. Just a long thing about its composition and possible side effects etc..... Anyway, enough of my ranting!!!! I'm thinking positive and hoping for the best possible outcome. But after seeing how difficult it is for me to walk a distance, can't you just see me on a treadmill???? Let the games begin!!
Mor ing everyone!
Barb, just take it one step at a time! You can do this!
Also sending big hugs and prayers to Dianne!
Morning Everyone!
Prayers and hugs to Dianne & Santa Warren. You are in our thoughts and hearts and we are beside you every step of the way. God Bless and keep you in His arms.
I am heading outside to work before the rain starts again. It has rainned most of the week and is humid as all get out. If it dries enough I will start to mow and if not will work on cleaning up Tubby's shop area. I bought my tomato plants yesterday and will put them in the planter boxes. As usual I don't have to look for anything to do. One of the Doc's I know is coming by to buy the tomato cages Tubby made that I will not use. I will see if he wants the rest of the roll of wire that is left.
I pulled my huge rubarb patch yesterday and gave it away. It will be back in full in a couple of weeks and be ready to pull again.
Well, you all have a great weekend and take care all.
Shirley
Morning Shirley! Don't work too hard!
Mornimg, Shirley, sure wish I lived closer so I could get some rhubbarb plants..reason I do cement rhubbarb walking stones is so I get to boil up the rhubbarb! Understand where you are coming from re the amount of work there is to do, always something..just don't overdo..sure get a nice feeling once the grass is cut and with the rain and sunshine it sure needs cutting.
Barb, it is maddening for sure..after I blew up at my doctor a few years ago he sees me, pulls up a chair, crosses his legs and takes whatever time I need. Glad my appt is 9am on Friday so shouldn't be a problem he giving me extra time seeing he's the one who called me to come in. Lol. If he rushes I'll remind him of that.
I'm sure Barb they will start you up with slow speed and not a long time on treadmill and as each weak goes by will increase the spped and time...did they give you excercizes for home? Does sound like you are on the road to recovery, thank the Lord for that.
Wanted to tell you that Kyle got a job at the recreation center which sells, snowmobiles, motorcycles, atv's and roadrunners..he was thrilled..we talked for a few minutes last night then the hacking started, said he'd drop in after work today to tell me all about it!
LindaKay, what are you up to? Can you play outside or is it wayyy to warm..ps, got a box to ship out to you Monday..
Noon and sun is shinning so I'm dressed well, will have a sandwich and then go outside and do something..maybe a workout will do me a worl of good.
Just taking it east today. It is getting quite warm here. It was 98 yesterday. But the humidity has been really high, as we have storms trying to come in, but go over or under us. Makes it really humid!
No hurry on the box Betty.
Omg Barb that quilt is just sooo adorable!! Love the ducky in the rain..your friend is one lucky lady.
LindaKay, love heat but just couldn't take what you live in summertime, I'll stay with the snow.id imagine as soon as you go out it hits you and you give up on outdoor work!
I've been out since noon, turned really nice..pit was full of burning items so lit it and stated to take all the totes out of the shed, what a mess..so may wood projects already cut that never got done to into the fire it went.
Child's wooden horse an rockers, wanted to paint and tole paint but never did, that and a little wooden chair, have them set out on themselves..was gong to burn but decided in the morning I'd put near the roadside and maybe somebody will pick them up. A shame to destroy the metal shed, really, nothing wrong with it, be so much easier if someone came and took it away but not to be.
Thinking I might go out and put in another hour or so..could cut the back garden and plant the 6 shrubs Ann picked up for me then in for a bath and early night
Meant to add, if you are without bluejays and butterflies, they are all in my yard..
Your right Betty, the heat hits you really quick when we go out, garden chores are usually done in the morning, or after the sun goes down!
Barb, that duck quilt is so precious! Nice job!
Betty, don't you work too hard, and run your body down! Are you still coughing a lot?
Back in, night is coming on and feels cool/damp..cut about 1/8th of the yard, looks so nice when cut..weeded a bit, planted the 6 shrubs and 4 that I bought , got to tell you I plant about 20 shrubs and about 4 trees every year and it never seems enough..Greg keeps telling me whoever ends up buying this place will level the gardens too much work..
Broke down this afternoon, a one wine cooler in the fridge since Christmas, opened it up, sat on the lounger, feet up, watched the birds fighting squirrels for food and keeping an eye on Missy who is a hunter and enjoyed a 1/2 hour of relaxation..I don't do enough of that. Wouldn't you know nobody came around to see me do it...
However, when you are out looking at the yard you've a zillion projects you come up with. Lol
Coughing and hacking is really bad towards the evening so will take meds after a bath and call it a night..fresh air did help though.
Think is LindaKay is the summer you don't really get to enjoy the outdoors do you, everything would have to have a/c. Are they calling for a bad storm, not tornado ?? Worrysome
Not bad storms, just thunder and lightening. We enjoy the outdoors, after the sun goes down, too hot during the day!

Hus to Dianne and Santa Warren. Also to crissy. And everyone else.
My medical appointment went well. Doctor is pleased with my weight loss and blood sugar level. Got shots in my knee and my shoulder. Shoulder is still sore and I've had a flu-like bug for a couple of days.
Should be able to go home by Wednesday.
Does anyone know someone in the San Diego area who might be able to help me after my knee surgery if I need it? Surgery will be in June or July; I'm still waiting for a date. I don't know how much help I might need but would like to have someone available if needed.
hugs, katie
wish I did, Katie.
So glad to hear your Dr is pleased with your weight and BS level!
did you get your "bug" from the shot? Hope your shoulder feels better soon.
Really glad to hear you're home by Wed!
Hello To All ;
Katie - wonder if you could try an ad on Craigs list ?
Barb - I'd be angry too... no use taking meds if you aren't instructed on how to take them....
Betty please get some blood work and have them check for pertussis....
cough dr. also pointed out... it's worse when I'm overheated...KUDOs to kyle ! What a perfect job for him.... :)
Today I had to work the Big Brother Casting Call promotion. I met Shelly Moore who was the contestant from here. Really great gal...
((HUGS)) Dianne, Warren, and all who need them...
Mary
Hi night crew!
Well, I wish we could hear from Dianne, but I know she has so much more to think about right now. I'm remembering both of them in my prayers tonight.
Katie, wish I knew of someone that could help you. That must be difficult. Maybe you could post over in the CA forum? I bet there would be a DG member who would step up to the plate and help. There are so many wonderful here ... and believe me, I've seen a lot of amazing stories! I bet if you went over and explained your situation, you'd be amazed at what might happen. ☺
Betty, sounds like you had a nice peaceful evening. I wish you could get rid of that cough, though. I'm gettin sorta worried about that.
Linda, sounds like our weather is the same. Whew, has it ever been hot here. No rain, either! We really need it, too.
Oh y'all ... I've got a surprise to share with you, but I've got to wait until tomorrow. ☺ You're gonna love it! Big Grin!
Now with that, I'll leave you ...
Night Night!
oooooooooooh Susan - you TEASE you....... tsk tsk tsk..... doncha know it's not nice to tease your friends?!?!?!
siiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
Suse' that is NOT nice of you to do that! now I will lay away wondering.....hmmmm. Gives me something to look forward
to tomorrow!
Been a busy couple of days. DS is home, working tonight at a Breast Cancer fund raiser with even politicians.
He had to ask them for ID to get in...he is the bouncer. LOL I guess they got a kick out of that.
DH has to work tomorrow, so I will be driving DS back to school along with his totes and such to pack up his room.
Did you all go out and look at the moon, it is gorgeous....so called super moon.
Well, going to bed. Hugs to all,
Debbie
Debbie - I just saw that about the Super Moon - but it's almost 11pm, so guess we missed it...... was supposed to be at Moon Rise.
And there's supposed to be a meteor shower of up to 10 meteors at 4am Mtn Time - cool, eh? Guess I won't be up for that one, either lol
Morning all, birds are chirping, sun is shinning, will be a glorious day weather wise! Even the furries are at the door either wanting out or looking out. Bit too cool for me right so will get inside housework done then can play outside come noon hour.
Not much to gab about when I don't go anywhere. Lol. Give you all a bit of relief fom my chattering. Lol
But that being said, my mind is on the gathering next month..
Steve and Judy arrived early, I wanted to impress by cooking up a storm, yikes had forgotten groceries! Then Debbie/Paul and a few other arrived, time for bed, all exhausted, told them I had to wash all the bedding so nobody got to sleep that night..somewhere in the visit we were at amusement park, I made note that one of the rides was spectacular, you got to visit every country of the world and you felt right there..didn't realize Steve had a beer in his hand, a no no, so handed me his beer to watch while all went inside..guard saw me with the beer and had me arrested and brought to another location, there everyone was left at amusement park not knowing where they were and I in prison doing hard time..now tell me, where do we get these dreams?? Too funny
Katie, sure wish I knew so done but don't. Great suggestion though on Craigslist or I'm sure the hospital might be able to provide a name..could you stay at a hotel/motel nearby so that should you need care or concerns health wise you'd be on their doorsteps?
Debbie, it's hard to believe school is already out. Bet you are excited to have you boy back for the summer. Cool about being a body guard, bet he felt important. You are lifting totes are you..hope you are overseeing only.
Suse/Suse, it's 'tomorrow now'. Can you share? let's see, new puppy? Shrub/plant that has special meaning to you in bloom? What can it be..
Mary, was the Big Brother Casting gig something you had to do for work or did you volunteer..sounds like something fun regardless why you were there. How are the kids, with Debbie picking up Shane, wondered if your troops are coming home for the summer?
Jean, what have you been up to? Bet your gardens are spectacular about now?
Susan, didn't get to look at the moon or the lights either..
As all of you my thoughts and prayers are with Dianne and Santa Warren! Debbie, do you have any news for us??
Best I get a start to my day. Cousin Linda said she might drop in today, should make some cookies just incase
Morning everyone! Betty, that was some dream, I think you are worrying too much to please everyone!
Betty, if you remember a few months ago, I posted a warning for those in Canada about the whooping cough going around, it won't hurt for you to be checked when you see your Dr. Friday?
Wind is really nice this morning, and we have lots of hummers at the feeders. 76 degree's with 87% humidity.
Talked to Judy on the phone, and they are busy power washing all the decks outside, will probably have to go back in a few weeks to do more! It is always nice to hear her voice!
Katie, sure wish I new someone in California, but the only one I know lives in Northern California.
As some of you know, I am in a sewing group on the other room, and I made two strip quilts from all the donated fabrics, well I took one to the hospital, and ask for the Public Relations person, and a lady named Cookie came out. When I told her what I was there for, she cried, and was so thankful for the donation, and told me they never get donations like this, and there are so many in need! So she called the hospital chief, and got permission to find someone in need. We found a little boy named David, that just had surgery on his ankle for a large mass removal, and they think it might be cancer. They are still waiting on the lab results. David was so in love with his new quilt, as was Mom and Grandma that was there. They gave written permission to the hospital to have the story released in the paper as well. Little David even gave me a kiss on the cheek before I left! It felt so good to make that little boy happy!
Ah LindaKay, you sure are a beautiful woman, inside and out! No wonder they were thrilled, it's gorgeous and so much work and love went into it!
Glad the hospital took the time to find someone who would really appreciate it! maybe it being out in the paper will encourage others to do so..congrats to all who donated fabrics!!
Remember about 3 years ago I made about 25 or so afghans to give to the seniors home and had to beg them to take them. Went Christmas eve morning to bring them and from their enthusiasm I doubt they were even given out..seemed to me they thought it too much work to tag.
Got muffins and cookies made, had to throw cookies out..think my temp gauge is off, muffins a little dark but eatable ..I timed it and there I is, lol, not so good treats!
Glad you got to talk with Judy, sure brightens up my day when she calls..she is so full of energy and happiness..love her to bits..can't wait for her and Steve to visit.
I feel ambitious today, did floors, rug in living room, will teach me to buy a light colored rug with furries..dusted and now ready to take on the day.
Starting to warm up so while I wait I'll bring the rock fountain to front deck and get it going..not sure why I do, think its been years since anyone has sat out front.
Bring the wooden horse to the front and see if it might get picked up, it really is a fair size, a 3 year old could rock, the chair would be nice finished as well.
Then rake one of the front garden beds and weed..by then we will see how tired I am.
Good Mornning!
We had quite the Tstorm earlier this morning, but the sun is out now and cool breeze. I'm gonna go out and pull some more weeds. I did get all the tomato cages dug out and cleaned off. There are 45 of them that I'll sell. Hope to start mowing if it dries off this afternoon. I'll spray tomorrow.
Barb the quilt is darling. maybe some day. LindaKay that was so wonderful of you to give a great gift to that little boy. I pray that the test come back negative.
I may plant the tomatoes and some other pots too. I think I'll put marigolds in some and would like to move the lavendar plants I have. I need to get the area under the deck steps done so I can put the hostas in there. A million things running through my mind to do. I need to slow down and do one at a time. Oh well, enough for that subject.
Just wanted to drop in say Hi to all and wish you all a wonderful day. Enjoy the day and remember it's the Sabbath so do take time to set back and rest and smell the flowers.
Chat later-
Shirley
Waving Shirley...will the doc come to look at them today? Do the furries panic when thundering? Poor Sailor goes absolutely nuts..
You sound although you are reminding us to take it easy that you have a full day scheduled! Hope some sitting time is scheduled as well..I'm making a point of it.
actually you gave me an idea, have several large pots, could plant a few tomatoes just for a treat now couldn't I, either that or go buy a container with cherry tomatoes..do you grow them as well Shirley?
Couldn't ask for a better day, it's heaven out there, all the neighbors are out enjoying, nice to see.
Got the water feature going, found a larger pump so I thought why not try, omg the flow was reaching 10 ft just like a geezer, would have been nice but that is a bit much. Lol. Now I'm on the lookout as to how to make a water feature somewhere there is a plug, thinking but not today.
Dianne and Paul called to see if I wanted to come for supper and go for pontoon ride..guess the. Inut she heard me she knew the answer..will leave it for another day.
Lunch is calling, will actually take it outside and eat near the pond, love the sound of moving water, can you tell in a Pisces
Break time almost over!
Got myself a pop, Ice cream, put the outdoor speakers on with old tunes playing, for a second I thought I was a queen. Lol
Who dropped in but Greg and Melanie..don't know if it was a compliment or not but Greg said how pleased he was to see me sit, then he added, anyone in their 60's should be sitting and relaxing, not working like a dog!! Next thing you know he wanted to use the slicer to cut up beef for beef jerkey, there went my sitting..
Just left but not before I got, "so what time did you want us for supper" might of have been seeing big roast in the refrigerator that got him wondering who was coming for din/din Lol guess I will be having company.
Okay ...
Now for my surprise!
I've had these planters for a couple of years. Yesterday, the DH built this for me. It's right next to my deck. This is what it looks like from the ground. These are Marigolds planted in it. I'll have to get a picture looking from the top, too, but I wanted you to see how many levels it is and how cute!! It matches my EarthBox garden, too!
Suse' that is SO nice! How inventive you both are, and when those are grown in, will fill out and just look so pretty!
I can see that smile on your face.....very nice!
Debbie
Oh thank you, Debbie! I sure do like it! Next year, I'll be more inventive and plant different types in each one. I have enough to make another one, too! I just love it. I can stand on my deck and turn it around to water. Right now the Lord is doing that for me! Wahoo! We haven't had rain in about 3 weeks now. I might have to power down ... It's thundering and beginning to get close ...
I'm saying prayers for Dianne and Warren today!
lol Betty - your family is so funny! "Sit down, you're in your 60's.......... now get up and get something to eat for us, btw - we're coming for dinner" LOL
Susan - that is so wonderful that your DH made that for you - I'm sooooooo jealous LOL not really, but you are one lucky lady!!
I just wanted you to know that my babe left me today wrapped in my arms. There is such a huge hole in my heart and soul. On the other hand he is no longer battling this horrid disease and in such pain.
Dianne
Deepest sympathies Dianne and warmest thoughts for your dear Warren.
Weep not for me though I am gone;
into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will but not for long,
upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace,
my soul's at rest.
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was blessed;
for all those many years.
There is no pain,
I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts.
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath;
remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
but celebrate my life.
Constance Jenkins
Crying with you all............... I prayed this am at our Church's prayer table, for him to be out of pain. I rather suspected this would happen today.
We all have a prayer circle around you, Dianne. Wasn't it Warren that liked Canada's Timmies coffee?
Now he can have as many as he likes! He is in no pain.........
Please accep my condolences. Dianne..he is pain free and walking the Lords gardens .. sure wish we were all closer.
It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back again.
Crying with the rest of you! Dianne, so sorry to hear he is no longer with us, but glad you were able to hold him when he passed! ((((((((((((((((Dianne))))))))))))))))
Please let us know if there is anything you need?
