Sun has finally come out..

Got a call from my sister, she couldn't stop crying..so close to my dad..agreed that she should drive up, 100 miles, we would meet at cemetery at 5:30 then go out to eat. I so should not be going out but one has to do what has to be done.. She still feels guilty that she had a bad cold and because hospitals were closed because of SARS she couldn't be with him in his last hours. It was I that held his hand..will have to give her double hugs..


Off to get dressed, will bring her stained glass piece with me, that might cheer her up a bit.

Doubt a restaurant will want someone coughing/hacking like I am so best bring cough syrup with me

Betty - get lots of rest please! Ann is being brave, and I love the idea of sending the balloons with messages to the sky... Guess keeping busy is what Ann needs, and I can SO appreciate that. It's often good for the soul to take yourself out of your situation, and put yourself into helping others as Ann is with you, and June & Pat... they all "do" for one another. It's true discipleship...

Saying more prayers for our Dear Dianne and Santa Warren.

Jean was right... we got flooded yesterday... Jean - your daylilies are so pretty ! All mine are different varieties and look the same ! Oh well. Got 2 more from the swap, already planted and don't you know with that rain yesterday, they already have new growth and one is budding !

Thea Love that photo of DD and SW.... very wonderful prayers and ditto that to what everyone has written.
Judy - Congrats on the house ! Will it be easy to let go? or difficult? Ya'll have put so much into it...

A friend today said things happen in "3's"... I'd heard that before but hope not. First news from DD and SW.
Then today I found out that the man who hired me into Radio Sales 25 years ago has pancreatic cancer. He was back in sales and worked at the cubicle next to me at the time Mom was diagnosed with this in 2004.
He too had quit our last job and purchased (with others) and founded a Catholic Radio Station. saw him at the LSU show a few weeks ago....

So much going on.
Took DMIL to lunch today... she is wonderful. I'm trying to make up for having to work Saturday ... she had invited me to go to her sorority tea and now I can't go... have to work.....

Mary, we had the heavy rains last night as well, water was sitting on the ground but this mornimg the birds are singing, you can almost watch the flowers growing and seeing leaves opening..nice time of year. Will you open the pool before leaving for Disney..is the young lady going with you all wound up in excitement? Your MIL must so appreciate the time you spend with her..I rarely do things with DIL as their schedules with the boys are so demanding.

Susan, no wonder Bob is enjoying staying home, he'll not want to go to work the more he gets addicted to his games..you'll have to give him game time like we do to children then take turn it off, now wouldn't that get him jumping.

Dropped into Timbrr yesterday afternoon, said there was a change in plan, rather than building the entire shed at their facility then putting together here they will send all materials here and their man/men will build it on site. Don't care how it gets done, just want it done..

Jeff and Julie leave today for Jamaica..wish I was going along with them. Lol

Doing ok..made it to 2:30 this morning without the hacking then it started. Apparently there is a 100 day cold going around, sure hoping it didn't find me. Cathy's dad is going on 5 weeks..damp out there today but if it warms up maybe a good work out would do me good in the fresh air?

Got an email from Dianne, and she said it was OK to share....

Dianne writes:

Warren is in a deep coma but did come out of it very briefly this morning around 5 am to tell me he was thirsty and that he loved me. Then back he slipped. I am so grateful for even that little bit though.

He has been moved to a private room so we can spend our last hours together in privacy. I talk to him, play his favourite music, rub his feet with cream and also attend the bed sores that have started on his rear.

He is in KGH Kidd 940. Feel free to post this news with our wonderful, loving DG family. I don't know what I would do without you all. I am taking the laptop back to the hospital in hopes that the 'wonky' wifi will be working today.


I will keep you updated as things progress. Warren is taking your song My Way to heart Bonnie. Stubborn to the end!!The docs are astounded he is still with me.

Betty, not eatting tomatoes yet, but have babies on 3 plants so far. Yea! I've been working like crazy in the yard trying to get things planted or moved where I want them. I wish you could see the gardenias and jasmines! Danny made me a trellis for one of them and planted it at the corner of the yard. That one is sorta special, as it's the kind my Daddy grew.

Suse, don't we take comfort in having something in our gardens that had special meaning to our loved ones who have gone before us? My grandmother had a love for peony's and gladstone..can still see her walking through the gardens bringing them in for the supper table! Danny spoils you Suse with all these trellises..lucky you..wish I could smell the fragrances of your garden.

I won't have anything with fragrance until the lilacs bloom abpnd that won't be for weeks!!

Betty - Bob IS still applying for jobs. He told me that beyond applying, when he sees someone doing a job he can, he approaches them to find out if they're needing anyone. One day this week after he'd dropped me off at the church, he saw a fellow doing soffit/fascia work on a home down the street so he approached him to ask about a job. The fellow had a company truck. Bob's major experience is doing soffit/fascia so he said maybe he should go back to what he's done for years before warehouse work......
Anyway, the guy's interested, and said he'd be calling Bob. Apparently there is someone in the company who'll be leaving next week, and they need to replace him with an experienced person. This would be a perm, full-time job, working for the company (not self-employed, contract work) and he'd get benefits, etc. I'm hoping this is a job he can still get........... (at his age of 62, and I "didn't" say that lol)

Susan, I'm sure it's something he can do, does require a lot of scaffold/ladder work though..are his legs ok..let's hope they do call..I think in a lot of cases now mature adults are given priority for their work ethics/dependability..did you get your vehicle repaired?

ah my vehicle..................... This morning the fellow called at 8:45, and said he'd be here in 20 minutes. I can see his place from mine, so he's not far............ It's 10:15 and no sign of him, nor is he answering his phone..... ARRRRRRRRRGH
As the gas tank is 1/2 off, I can't just put a bit of gas in and drive it somewhere else to get repaired. I'm caught "between a rock and a hard place"...........
I think I'll send Bob over to talk to him.........

our neighbour/mechanic came over to fix the car about an hour ago ........ he and a friend (it's 11:50am). They're still working on it, so guess they're not going to quit before it's done! Last Saturday he'd started, but quit and is now back for the first time since.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaay - our mechanic has finished hooking up my "new to me" gas tank!! Now he's going to put the gas in, and start it up to finish the job yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!! I've been 3 weeks without a car, and It's About Time I Got It Back!! happy, happy, happy dance!!!!!!
