.........but hot!
۞Sweet Interruptions # 239۞
84 yesterday, and there are errands to attend to in town. Thank God for a/c in the truck!
Marion, do use a hat when working outside? I do, if not I'll bake.
Plus I wrap an wet towel around my neck.
LK sistah, I'll try to have a beautiful day :D
wow - 84 is hot! Nice though..
It's raining off and on here - 39F / 4c. Supposed to get to 43F / 7c today.....
The link worked for me, too........ What browser are you using, LK?
I first tried it on my iPad, and it did not work, but it did work on the computer. It is a lovely piece of music!
I can't download, but I'm sure it's pretty music that will please Jessica.
What a day it's been for me, which leads to a tired night like you Sue, and I don't need any aid to fall asleep!!
Crissy, how are you? You're an intelligent beautiful woman, Dave sure lost a lot in this divorce ;)
Venting here. Kel's working tonight and tomorrow morning, he's bringing his father to an OOT appointment with his oncologist. So there'll be hardly any rest, and when the appt.'s done, he's opening the shop. No sleep.. and then off to work at the real job!!
Please say a prayer that Kel doesn't collapse from exertion.
Good night sistahs, see you all in the morning.
.
Dear Lord - please steady Kel, and "gird his loins" for the tasks ahead........
And please allow Jaye to know this is not a problem, that our dear sistah vents........ we love her dearly.
Thank you so much Susan.
Kel just walks out the door, tired. I guess he doesn't want to ever feel regret that he didn't do enough for his dad.
Coffee is ready sistahs. No fear of unneeded calories. Fresh fruits with cottage cheese!
Have a wonderful Thursday sistahs. NOT too hot.. just wonderful for all.
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Jaye!
Praying that Kel has an easy day today!
Good morning Sistahs.
Working on the Project house yard today, lots to do.
Susan, Very nice Prayer, Amen.
Sistah, will be keeping Big Bruddah Kel in thoughts and prayers as I work.
I hope everyone has a good day, will check in later.
Marion, sure hope your taking lots of breaks.
Thanks LK and Sistah Judy!
Your garden will soon be the talk of your neighbours, since you've been putting so much time into it.
Kel is always in my thoughts - in our Bible Study today we were talking about (and I just realized how it relates to Kel!) how a daughter is given by her father in marriage and who does she owe her loyalty to after this - her new husband, or to her father/King? It was the story of Michele and David......... her father was Saul, the king.
It's difficult sometimes to know when it's the parent, the spouse, or God that the biblical people are honouring....... and even more so nowadays........!!!
In Genesis 2:24..."Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." The Sunday before, our preacher was telling parents to let their married children go, not to control them anymore and he quoted scriptures from NT. I was surprised that many repeated that verse in Genesis.
He says, yes to honor your parents, but your wife takes precedence.
Then he admonished those parents who expected their kids to still serve them after marriage.
Kel listened with a grin on his face. Why? Because MIL who knows the bible better than you and I, consciously continue to go against God. I know Kel will stop 'serving' when his father dies. Sad, ain't it.
MIL can't stand BOTH her DILs.
Kel's SIL was forced to come down for Christmas last year (she hadn't celebrate any religious holiday with Parents in law for 2 years after their big fight).
This Easter, again, I wasn't invited (to my joy), but SIL decided that last visit didn't change anything!! Only BIL showed up!!
Kel, luckily had to work that day.
Sad ain't it? A MIL that will do anything to destroy her sons' marriages.

It IS sad, Jaye. Obviously your MIL doesn't realize how she's pushing people away........ or she's "too far gone" to pull herself back into the family "fold". It's a shame, but there you have it............
Anyone with fear of the Lord, can improve or change for the better, at any age.
I'm going to shut up about MIL now Susan. Need the peace and a good sleep!! Lolol!
Sue, take care sweetie. Don't push yourself to the ground.
Night everyone!
Good night, Jaye, and Sue - take care, m'ladies!!
It's only 9:40 pm here, so I'm up for quite a bit more lol
It is 10:04 PM and I guess everyone is in bed or on their way. I should be heading toward the bedroom soon. Had to shop for a baby shower gift today, and pick up a few groceries and that just tired me out. Yesterday was a long day too, lunch with sister and cousins which turned out really nice. Visited with sister for a while then went to Hobby Lobby, glad it is far away. I really didn't feel like shopping, but at least I can say I finally got to see what it was all about. They are bulding a couple more in Southern California, but still too far from me. Maybe there is a reason for that, I really have to get busy with the things I want to do here and forget about spending money.
See all of ya in the morning!!
I just saw the most fantastic idea in gardening, on DG's home page - a Keyhole Garden!! What a terrific idea!
As it's so dry in Calgary (said to be only 3 hours away from having a drought, at any time of the year) and with our Chinook (DRY & warm) winds, plus clay soil that Does Not take a soaking............ well, all I can say is - YES, to a Keyhole garden.
I'm going to see about building one behind our place, as it's a slope, in addition to clay soil and all the water runs off...... I will need to build a wall UP so it holds everything, and buy a Ton of proper soil I guess.......
It's worth a try anyway!
Good morning sistahs!
Coffee is ready and some banana bread and oatmeal raisin muffins for your digestive system.
Pegi, good that you had a visit with your sister. I'd have to swim across the Atlantic or Pacific to see mine, and I can't swim!
Your eyes must be amazed at the various crafts that are available at HL. Yep, you're right, that's a money magnet and you can't just spend $10 in one!
Interesting Susan. I have clayey soil, but I learnt before I plant anything to build up the ground. Had amended some areas, still the plants struggle. Easiest way is to get bags of potting soil, mix with Miracle Gro soil, and plop the plants. They have a good chance of survival.
Early start for me, want to take advantage of the cool morning hours and work in the garden a bit. Then during the heat of the day, I can focus on sewing!
Have a terrific Friday sistahs.
Morning Jaye, thanks for the breakfast! I am off in a bit, have to get the Acadia to the dealership for an oil change, and fix a leaky tire, then to post office, then Wal mart. Then back home for a painpill!
mmmmm oatmeal muffs sounds great, will go very well with the lovely hazelnut coffee the darling hubs bought :)
I got up early to sew a bit on my round robin project, and another project which I am way way late on getting done...
then it will be off to work, for 1;00
Jaye you be careful out there, and DO NOT over do !!! yes I yelled, but full of love
LK I sure hope the errands do not cause you too much pain..
Happy stitchin' and Y'all have a great day
Am I ever grateful for the coffee and muffins this morning!!! We are on hold here until the plumber (and others ) come. Was starting to prepare dinner lat night when I realized my feet were getting wet--no, I didn't spill anything. Thank you very much! LOL Seem the pipe under the sink was leaking and water was coming out. Emptied everything out only to discover 1" plus of standing water and Yikes!!! mold like you won't believe. Seems the drip had been going on for a while without our knowledge. Long story, shorter version.......poured water to see if I could locate the leak--not a problem. The side of the pipe wasn't just leaking, it was flowing!!!! Seems like there are several holes covering a 2" area.
Call into the plumber, insurance company and then to find someone to see exactly how much damage there is to the cabinet and treat mold! Have a large pan catching the drips but still handicapped using the sink. Ah such is life of a homeowner.
Hello Ladies,
It has taken me awhile to post here because my emotions are running rampant. The last week has been pure H##L for Doug and I. Things with the house are IFFY. We now have to deal with Medical. The only asset Nanny left was this house. We can't sell it, because it has a cracked foundation. So we really don't know where we stand. Medical could do either a Undue Hardship and waive the fees, let us make payments, or put a lien against the house. Assuming the loan will not be a problem, (as far as we know). All of these questions are being asked, Why didn't she do this, and why did she do that, well we'll never know. If Doug's mom would of put her name on the deed to the house a couple of years ago then we wouldn't have to deal with Medical. So today they are going to SSA, to start the paper work.
Then on Sunday when mom and I went to visit my brother, we were informed that they had started a new processing program and it is taking a bit longer to get people processed so PLEASE BE PATIENT!!!! They lost my file!!!!! Took them 1 1/2 hours to find it. I was livid!!!! How the hell can they lose a person's file when all they had to do was transfer my info from old program to new one. These people are so incompetent, they don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground, and I am not the only one that says that. They had to get my brothers file out to see if there was a paper in there showing that I was approved, wth?? I've been going there month for 13 years!!!!! Then the gal started to tell me my white pants were to see thru, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr don't go there sister because they were NOT!!!! I told my mom if I have to change my pants I am leaving!!!!! This other family that came from a long ways, the boy wore a white t-shirt on Saturday, but when they came to visit on Sunday he was told he couldn't wear it!!! See what I mean. These idiots make up the rules as they go along OMG!!!
Well I am leaving this morning and taking my mom to Carson City for her bowling tournament this weekend. I'm really not in the mood and monies are tight.
Crissy, so sorry here of your problems with Dave, hope things work for the best for you.
Take care Sistahs
(((((((Cindy)))))))) I "feel" for you, hon. having these issues with the house, $$ and then those darned institutions.....
"too see-through" - what, you're there to pick up guys? Or does seeing you in those pants incite the inmates to raunchy thoughts? hmmmm lol - sorry, trying to inject humour in a situation that is not humourous.
My son used to be in a juvenile detention center, so I know a little of what you're going through. It all depends on the staff that's on when you visit. I remember bringing a birthday cake for him, and the rest of us in the group, and they said I couldn't.......this was a minimum security building, and I thought as it was that they'd allow it - nope.
So hope you get this straightened out with your house - it's not a nice situation to find yourself in....
Cindy, sorry to hear your haing problems! (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) hope you get answers soon! And why can't you wear white to visit?
Like I said LK, they make up the rules as they go along.
Took 4runner to get service check up and oil change. Good thing I did, they found a leak in the water pump. Luckily it's still under warranty so I only have to pay small deductible. So now I won't be leaving for Carson City until later today, grrrrrrrrrrrrr. When it rains it pours!!!
I'm with you Cindy that when it rains it pours. No one lets you sit back and rest for a while. I hope the house deal works out in your favor. I do think the medi-cal system needs a big overhaul. Wonder how some of those workers every got the job. Money is always short here and when you get a little breathing space something else goes wrong.
my new puppy got sick tuesday, took her to vet, he said she was very sick. he stayed with her day and night. she passed away at 2am today. i have to pay for her creamation. he thinks she was poisoned. he said it seems strange first sammy, now lucy. he did a autopsy, but didn't find anything conclusive so he sent samples out to the state lab. all we can do is wait
Sorry to hear that Sis Kathy! Hope you get some answers. (((((((((HUGS))))))))))
What a shame. Hope they find out what happened and then who did it!!!
oh no, Kathy - that's terrible! Were your dogs "yard dogs"? Maybe someone in the area doesn't like dogs? I just can't believe someone is so sick as to poison someone's pets........
As Lucy was a puppy, did she ever slip away out of the yard? They're quick, are puppies......
Poor you Marion!!! Besides fixing the pipe, or maybe replacing it, you have to take care of the mold! Hope those didn't break the bank. Did you use all the Depends to soak up the water?
Cindy, I'm sorry the prison gave you hell. As you said, the rules are apparently made up by them. Plus, they're different from state to state.
Here, Kel said, visitors are allowed to wear what they want as long as they agreed to the usual screening. He said every prison has different rules.
If your brother's in Federal prison, that's another ball game altogether.
I hope Medi Cal will work in your favor.
Oh no, Sis Kathy!!! What happened??? Let us know please.
It had all its' shots, so no chance of Parvo. You might have to set up a security system with cameras, so you could monitor your surroundings.
Kathy, sorry to hear about your puppy. It never ceases to amaze me how cruel people can be to animals....and other people's pets.
So far Jaye, the bank hasn't completely been drained. LOL Depends would have even started to get that amount of water we found. The plumber did come and repair the "P" trap and said it looks like it started slowly causing the floor of the cupboard to sag. As the hole got bigger more came out and finally the flood. We have been in touch with our homeowner's insurance and they will be here on Monday to assess the mold issue. Yes, thankfully Kim found where we should use straight white vinegar (bleach for hard surfaces according to the article) followed by a baking soda/water solution. There is a 4 inch crack in the pipe that was removed. Oh well, one step at a time is all I can do.
Marion, BJ had mentioned Borax for porous surfaces.
Have a good night's rest Marion. Thank God, that damage can be managed and as you say, didn't drain the bank.
Night sistahs.
That is right Jaye, white vinegar or Borax--I had the vinegar.
