Good morning sistahs.
Yes I remember Marti, LK. So sorry she's battling that "C" word. Definitely will keep her in my prayers.
LK, I'm glad it's you with those cute kitties! One looks like Hitler with that marking on the head and it's nose!!!

Pegi, I hope the Cipro will eradicate that urine infection. It's a strong antibiotic, so drink plenty of liquids sistah.

Barb, praise the Lord that you survive the silent heart attack. That and mini strokes can be devastating. Praise God that you WILL be on the road to healing your heart.
Doctors can do wonders. So in the meantime, your gall bladder surgery will be postponed?
Hope you're prescribed something for the pain.

Sue, blessed are you with so many caring friends, on DG and even FB.
ORVG is the right place for you to start Gigi's Memory Garden thread, as I assume there will be some who live close to you and may be able to help you?

Yes, Susan, Sue has the best twins in the world.

Marion, my Ruby is supposed to be here Saturday!!! Hope the company didn't postpone delivery!

Cindy, will you be making crafts to sell at shows? You are indeed very talented.

Crissy, how are you girl?

Wasn't on Saturday, as Kel wanted the pc, and I can only check my mails!! :(
Sunday, after church, we decided to spend just us time. No electronics, and that includes tv. Only thing we allowed for each other is grocery shopping and a bite at Wendy's.
Yesterday, we paid attention to each other...and yes it was one looooooong day!!
I've let my hurt take over the original love for Kel, and he has allowed his parents to tire him out, and hence diminish his time for to me.
Nope, the preacher didn't talk to us, but his sermon to the church helps with this 'truce'.
I will always face the reality that Kel does love his dad, and will do anything for him, and his mum will take advantage of that.
But I got God.

All that said, I intend to have a blessed beautiful day, and I pray that my sistahs have one too ^_^

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, I have blooms on one of my Ruby Slippers. It isn't very big but a nice creamy white at this time.

Tried to work outside some this weekend but with the rain and now the winds, it just isn't pleasant. We are under high winds advisory today again.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The winds are brutal this morning, Marion!
Took some pictures, and it's a wonder that I'm not blown away. Thank God for high speed disks, if not the pics will be blurry.

I'm excited to get my first purchase of the year!! As long as Ruby is healthy, and producing flowers, size doesn't matter.

Amaryllis blooming this morning, along with a clematis. The dew's still on.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I love the armadill.....oh amaryllis picture. Mine bloomed this year--good thing as they were slated for disposal after 4 years!! Not picture worthy today as the winds have beaten them down pretty badly. Jay,e my plants arrived very healthy and I am so impressed with they way they have grown and filled out.

Did I mention Kim found Carpet Roses on sale at Lowe's this weekend? $5.00 a 2/3 gallon size. Needless to say 5 followed her home--Amber which is a soft apricot/pinkish color. I hope to get those in the ground today if the winds slow up some.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, Amaryllis and Clivias will bloom when the bulbs are big enough!!
So, don't throw away any non blooming ones. I have a couple that took 5 years! When they were given to me, they were the size of a garlic.
Wow, what a deal!
Don't you just love it when plants follow you home? Be careful Kim, your car might end up to be a PRV (plant rescue vehicle).

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I didn't know that about amaryllis. I though I had planted them to deep. I will not throw them away now--much to pretty--a bright clear red. Once again a vendor gave them to me at the end of one of the shows. I shared with some other committee members as I was in the process of moving. Glad I kept a few. Oh my, I just remembered I have a Clivia somewhere in this yard. Kim bought one and I guess I had better do a search.

To late Jaye, she already is addicted to the buying part---it is the planting and care part she hasn't gotten into so far. :-(

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

No Jaye I am not going to be selling any crafts. Everything I am making is for my front yard. Still have about 1/4 of the right side to do then will work or the left side which is real small and mostly shade. I have a couple of Hostas and Bleeding Hearts. I'm working on making hanging planters and shelves to put on tree to hold these plants.

I received this letter from my brother. This tells you what kind of a place the prison he is in is. They have been in lock down since April 13..................We are on a "Quarantine" for chicken pox. Two guys have it , had red spots all over them. The other day the medical staff came in and took blood from those who have not have the pox. The next day they came back told them to rool up their bedding they were moving them to 7 building. He then asks does that mean they are susceptible or do they have it?? Anyhow it doesn't look good, now I hear building 22 is locked down, for same thing so we are on a "Quarantine" which states: to isolate from normal relations" So is it the CO's come and go as they please and don't even wear a mask. Yesterday (April 17) when medical took these guys blood. The table that they used was not even wiped down after the were done. That shows they don't have much concern for anyone else health.

It seems every time we go there to visit him they change something. One time they found a bullet shell on the grounds between the processing office and the visiting room. They blamed it on the visitors. Now you tell me.....how can a visitor get through a metal detector with that??? One time we had to list all of the jewelry we were wearing. Now what they are doing and I don't think it is right at all is...when we get to visiting room they keep our pass and our driver's license both. I said to them what if a natural disaster happened?? How would we been identified if they have our license???? There are well over 100 people in this room. Plus I think it is against the law for them to have our license in their procession.

I could write a book on just the stupid things these CO's come with to NOT do!!! I saw one CO yell at a visitor, the man did not understand English and had no idea what the Co was saying to him and the CO was getting madder and louder. What a dummy!!!

Well I must get busy, making some mini May Poles for mom's bowling banquet which is on May Day. Hope they turn out like I envision them.

Have a Good Day Sistahs!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Thanks for the new room Jaye! Love those blooms!

Cindy, sorry to hear your Brother is in lock down! Does not sound like fun at all!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Cindy - lack of common health care and not allowing them to keep personal ID on them is Wrong. Do they not have any other type of picture ID?
A bullet shell on the grounds? I would think it would come from the processing room where inmates are first taken, wouldn't you? Certainly Not the visiting room. By then the visitors are already getting to see the inmates......

Bob got a call re: resume he sent on Friday - Elite International Foods. They called him in for an interview tomorrow at 9am. They need someone to drive a 5 ton cube van 2 days a week, and be Warehouse Supervisor the other 3 days. Bob's driven a 1 ton, and also personal school buses and U-Haul trucks........... so maybe that would qualify him for the 5 ton truck?!?! His driver's licence allows him to drive them - we'll see.about the interview and what transpires.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is good news Susan! Keep us posted.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Will do!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy sounds like the COs need to re-cert every 6 months on protocol, safety, and common sense!!
Sorry that your brother had to endure a lockdown period, but at least that prison has some space where he won't have to move to another prison.
Sometimes, the simplest courtesy get thrown out by people who thinks their uniform allows them to show off their 'power'. Kel said it happened to one of the COs, who got 'mouthy' not with a visitor, but with an immate. So happened a sargent witnessed it. That CO got written up and warned.
I always thought COs can do whatever they want, but apparently, being it's a new prison, Kel's co-workers do follow the Standard Operating Procedures very closely. I'm also surprised with the number of women COs in that prison.

Sue, I sincerely hope Bob got selected! Time for real good news.

Oh by the way, LK forgot to tell you that I had mailed your block to her.. included in my swap package!
Forgive LK please, she's always so busy!!!

Marion, it dropped to the 50s here. Imagine that? I hope it rains more so that might help with the garden tonight. I don't expect a freeze, but low 20s will certainly kill my blooms!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Guess what? I got an email response to my Monster posting of my resume.
It asked me to fill out a form and I did so, Then the fellow called me and we had a nice chat. He asked for my IT and A/V experience, and my expected rate of pay. What I told him turned out to be the Low end of what they're expecting to pay! THEN he told me who it was for........ Alberta Health Service - same company I worked for where they let me go after 6 months with No Reason...... (remember, Dec 2010 to June 2011?) Well, it's a big organization, and it is a different type of work, with Different People. Wouldn't be in the same building, either.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you both may have a job! :)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Mine would be a 6month plus?! position, but if I get a higher rate at this job than any other I've had, if it ends after 6 months, my unemployment insurance would be MORE! That would be nice, seeing as how the last temp position Lowered my UI (EI in Canada).
Bob's would be a perm position

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers that you both get hired!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

The work news is sounding really good for you and Bob. I will add a few prayers that both of you get hired very soon.

The oncologist seemed to be happy that DH's PSA level is going down. He did another PSA test today, but don't know the results. On Friday he will be the urologist and will find out more information. He is to stay on the Lupron shots plus he is on Casodex so between the two I'm praying the level stays low.

It is nice and cool out so I'm on my way out to pot up some more plants. So much to do and it seems I have to push myself to do a lot of it.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad to hear your DH's PSA level is going down! Means not just "down" but going further down?!?
Nice and hot out........ 25c / 77F - hot for spring! This is usually temp for summer here!

Cindy bummer on the lock down. Chicken pox is and can be scary with adults. Hope your bro don't get it or the shingles yikes that is pain.
you all have been busy
Susan good luck on the jobs
crissy where you be girly !
Pegi hoping the levels stay low for him.
Cookie is coming over to my house tomorrow. I bribed her with a hosta LOL i have so much to do this week .
Today is day 32 of my dd's murder. so its a tough day for me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((Sue))))))))))
just keep tromping through the brush, and keep us updated on Gigi's memory garden - glad you're able to create something beautiful out of sorrow (am I sticking my foot in my mouth? Don't mean to - just think you're a wonderful person to be commemorating your daughter this way)........ I know you'd rather have us there helping you, and getting all the hugs from us that we want to give you........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, now is Cookie doing? Is her leg healed?

yep her leg is A- OK.. she is up and running and doing well. Her dad is doing great and they are all living happily together. Her dad is so sweet.
well tonight is a early nighty night for me.
sleep well my sistahs.
love you all
sue

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad to hear her leg is A-ok, and her Dad is settling into their home together.
Sleep Well, Sue - you sure had a busy day in the garden today! Hope you get all cuddly warm after your getting drenched!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning Sue. Hope today is filled with love and laughter for you. Please say hello and give big hugs to Cookie for us. God Bless.
Barb

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs.
Hot coffee which I'm sure we all could use some. There are bagels and cream cheese, and if that's not enough, I'll send Kel out for sugary doughnuts for you with the sweet tooth!
It's unusually cold this morning, for this part of NC. At least, it's 44* and not the feared 30s. The highs will be in the 60s. I have some brugs that just started to bloom, and I'm afraid there will be some cold burns on the petals and leaves...maybe not.

Sue, please give Cookie my love and hugs. Yes, her father's a very sweet man, and I am so glad that he agreed to live with Cookie. At this time of the year, he would enjoy her gardens and pond. I'm sure her cats and Cayenne are entertaining him too!
It must be another hard day for you yesterday. I can't comment the on the 32 days, as I've never been where you're at now.
This I can say, with 100% conviction, we all love you and are very proud of you for expressing yourself.
You chose not to allow those criminals 'victimise' you, and instead, picked up plans to celebrate Gigi's life, with her garden. If you wonder where you got that strength, it's your deep faith in God. Savannah and Austin will watch their supermom in awe and learn from you.

Haven't seen Crissy around, she must be very busy. We miss you Crissy!

Susan, may today bring good news for you both. Crossing all co-operating limbs!

LK, hope you're able to breathe easier today. You must be the only one with warm weather!!

Think the cold hits Florida too? Am I right Marion?

Oh yes, you are right. Not as cold as predicted but enough I had to put on the heavier housecoat to go get the paper.

Meeting a friend in town this morning so will chat more later............................

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,
After having a really warm weekend our temps dropped to the high 70's and we are to get some more rain come Wed. night. Then they say we are back up to the low 80's by the weekend. We need for it to stay warm and quit raining, parts of our back yard are still muddy and the dogs LOVE IT!!!! They keep digging and rolling in it, ugh!

Every month or so I go Social Security and read up on what's happening. Wow it's scary!!! By 2033 there will be no money left to pay out to us that are on SS! Three years sooner than they expected. What is going to happen then?? So I had a talk with Doug, we have been talking about buying a bigger house. I told him we will not be able to afford it, and if they do lose all the money in SS how are we going to make house payments. So why not stay here, buy this house and remodel it?? There is only like less than $20,000 owed on it. I have been doing things around here to make it "my home" too, instead of a storage shed for his grandmas junk. At least we will have a roof over our head and probably have the house all paid for by 2033. In 2022, I will start receiving a pension from the Carpenter's Union, it's not alot but we will be able to survive on it if SS runs out. But of course in 12 years there won't be any Medicare, worry about that when it happens. I feel for my kids, what are they going to survive when they want to retire, if they even have a job in the future. Told my family a long time ago....Let's find a deserted island and become Swiss Family Robinson, lol.

Got to go shopping today, and finish working on May Poles

Have a good day Ladies

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Crissy said, in another post, that they have a big meeting at work so it's pretty hectic

Well, Bob's back from the interview, and he said it was "a weird one". He couldn't find the place first off (tiny # on the door) and phoned me for the fella's ph#
Then he was asked a "if you arrive for a delivery and the guy comes out screaming that he doesn't want the delivery, what do you do?" Bob said "turn around and come back and deal with it then." I told him he should ask the fellow what he felt the problem was and why he didn't want the delivery. He should help him, as Bob would be the 'face of the company' and he (Bob) wouldn't be happy if the 'shoe were on the other foot' and a delivery driver just left without asking how he could help.......... Bob said he's not a confrontational person, but neither am I. You can't take something like this personally, and have to be there to help the guy, not fight with him....... They told Bob they'd let him know by Friday afternoon. I'm sure he won't get the job, considering Bob's answers to other questions too.
Ah well, live and learn - all 'grist for the mill'.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I finall got back onto DG! It has been down, and I have not been able to post much.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, thank goodness we're back on DG! I feel "1/2 there" when I can't get on to chat with my friends here!!

well i could use a vent session if you don't mind
Cindy is jessica's step mom and she is always saying " i think of jessica is my own daughter , i love her too. " ... oh and i do hate this woman.
so on her FB she has a comment that she makes to her dd and her name is Brittney so they call her Bree. so this is what she says " My Bree loves My Jess "
ok so the claws came out and the fangs are ready to pucture that womans jugular !! and i know if i comment back she will do the what i call " oh so sweet act " as if she is doing and being a nice person and then will make me out to be the villian cuz Jessica is like her own DD and how could i think any other way ?
GRRRRRRR
ok i feel a bit better , thank you
good day to you all
sue

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning y'all!!

I'm here, barely, got big ole conference to host tomorrow and Friday.

LOL Sue, vent away, keep going, do whatever you need to do!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good day sistahs!

Cindy, you'll be doing the right thing, financially, if you buy out the present home. It's scary to note that by 2033 the SS might go broke.
Consider yourself blessed that at least you got the Carpenter's Union pension to supplement SS.

Susan, some men aren't the company men type.
Inspite of what had happened, I hope Bob still get the job Friday.

That's it, Sue. Vent away!!! Seems like Cindy's trying to gain attention through the publicized death of Jessie!
If I were to make a comment, I'd say, "Everyone that knows Jessie love her, especially the Lord... and thank you!"
You'll be killing her with honey!!
If she commented any further, I'd delete her post from my FB!
But then, that's me. Sometimes I can't hold back my tongue, but the Lord says, turn the other cheek and let fools be!!
Enjoy your day with Cookie sistah.
.
Still waiting on my Dark Leaf Hydrangea Ruber Slipper Marion.. hope they didn't forget about me!

LK, hope you're feeling better.

Smiling here seeing Crissy posting!! We miss you girl!! Work away and be the perfect Crissy that you are!

It's in the 50s and raining! Yay, another day of non watering

Thumbnail by heavenscape
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I called "Great Garden Plants" and I'm told that an email was sent stating that the plant would be shipped in mid June.
Kel must have deleted that email :(
Oh well, maybe I'll put him back on $1 burger and get another plant?
He'd learn not to delete anything until I've been told, especially when it comes to plants or fabrics :D

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Vent away, Sue dear - and I would delete her post too.

Jaye - I have someone posting on my wall that I DO NOT want posting........ they scream in Caps, and it's annoying. How do I delete someone from posting, or from my "friends" group? Remember, I don't go on FB enough to know the updates to "how to do this" stuff.............

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Jaye, I think I would make him starve for a few days! That s why Todd and I each have our own email accounts, I don't get into his, and he does not get into mine!
Cindy, sounds like your going to re-model your home? Is it big enough for you guys? Can you add on? Pretty sad about the SS and medicare!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, when you go to your home page, and you see a post you don't want to see, go to the t op right of that post with your mouse, you will see a little box you can click on, you can edit or delete that post.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I can edit someone else's post? wow.......... wondering who edits any of mine?!?!? lol

Thanks LK!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan as far as I know you can't edit someone else's post, you can only edit your own. If they're posting on your wall and you don't want them to then either ask them to please stop or unfriend them. That's what I would do. I hardly ever look at my wall, I'm too nosy and am far more interested in looking at everyone else's business lol

Jaye he doesn't belong in your email! LOL!!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I agree - Kel doesn't belong in your email!!

Crissy - I "unsubscribed" to that person on my FB - that's the only way I could see to get them off my wall.......... finally!
