Pork, fried tatoes and asparagus
What's cooking?
Chili
Turkey dogs and beans.
When I buy asparagus I buy the smallest ones I can get, I thought they were more tender?
Me, too, Debi
I buy small ones too, tonight I wrapped a few in bacon and baked them. YUM!
Also took 5 taters sliced, onions and spices, threw them in a foil packet with a tabl. of butter and 2 ice cubes. Baked on the grill for 20 minutes and no pan to wash. ^_^
Oh, yumm mm mm!!!
I have 3 little asparagus babies poking up from the crown I planted last year... said not to harvest fully for 3 years.. but happy to see they returned in our home made earth box.. were those tough Memory?
I have picked really large asparagus from the garden, & they were very tender.....I suppose if they are kept too long, they become woody....those potatoes sound so yummy!
leftover chili(always better the next day)
Maybe I should try growing some
cooling fan Sherrie?
Made a BBQ pork roast for Mom last night....had an open face sandwich with it....tonight, sausage & mushroom pizza.....
nothing but salad for me .. for the next few days.. my co-worker and I went to Brasilia Grill in Newark... Rodizio style lunch.. keep coming with skewers of meat until you fold.. holy cow am I stuffed!!!.. but boy was it good.. would be a great place for an RU.. but wasn't cheap.. $20.00 for weekday lunch.. more on the weekend
http://www.brasiliagrill.com/BrasiliaGrillEnglish.htm
but they had a cool planter outside the place.. told Randy I want him to make one for me.. LOL
(the plate at the back was my leftovers.. wanted to try everything and didn't even make a dent in the amount of food)
LOVE rodizio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
was very salty.. but I was impressed how much the smokey food just kept getting better and better.. I forgot my friend told me to take it easy when you first get in.. they bring the cheap stuff out first.. and the good stuff once everyone is full... will have to remember next time.. wish I didn't have to go to work after that.. or I would have had more.. LOL
and too bad it's in Newark... LOL
That Brasilia Grill looks great.
I was adventurous in the kitchen today, even though it killed my back. Made salmon patties with celery dill sauce, garlic mashed rose gold potatoes (yellow inside with red skins) and green peas. Came out great if I do say so myself. ☺
Next time you're in Newark if you like Portuguese food ....Iberia was AWESOME
I only will go to Iberia when I am not working.. kick butt sangria!!!!
yeah baby!!!!!!!!
Went out with friends to our favorite German restaurant
smoked pork chops, sauerkraut and potatoes simmered in white wine, hubby had sauerbraten
Oh, yum! Thinking about what to make tonight...not very motivated!
Cookout today. 2 sons and their families will be here. Hoping the rain holds off til after we finish eating and THEN let'er rip.
I made an eggless chocolate cake, we just tasted it, and it is very good. We have 4 birthdays to celebrate.
That's great....I'd rather have them together than really spread out! I have a recipe for eggless chocolate cake that's super....very moist.
Friday night:
Prime Rib,steamed clams, Mashed taters, fiddleheads, french bread.
Sat.:
T-bone steaks and sword fish grilled, herb taters, asparagus wrapped in bacon(again), steamed carrots, buttermilk biscuits and blackberry cheesecake.
Sunday:
Chili, honey-corn bread and scotcheroo's .
Stop!!!
Haven't told you what was for tonight! ^_^
A banquet, Pixie! Yesterday, I cooked a pot roast & brought it to Mom's, but I saved enough for leftovers tonight with noodles & garden asparagus.....
Yum! Love blackberries!
YUM....is it gluten free?????
Eggplant parm
Yum!
Chicken soup today....
Chicken Scarpiello, using up the last of the frozen bell and hot peppers from last summer. The recipe called for serving it over Orzo, but I didn't have any, so I used Pollo Mexicano. Went well with the spicy chicken.
I like a little heat, but if the recipe is too spicy, it's not for me.....
I'm a total wimp when it comes to spicy foods
I love it.
My hubby is so over the top, but it can't overpower the food...he has no (hot) taste buds left, I can't ask him if something is spicy because he'll say it's not but my mouth will be on fire
