I would hope so, but it depends on what the Lebanese beliefs are about this type of thing. LOL☺

True, and they may prefer the tarts.

Back to childhood with tuna fish casserole and salad. 1/2 package elbow macaroni, one can Campbells Mushroom Soup (old fashioned kind, with all the salt and fat) and a 7 oz can of tuna. Bread crumbs on the top. So comforting!!

I usually have a can of spinach with vinegar on it, but son and daughter-in-law don't do cooked greens. Hence the salad.

My Mom used to make tuna casserole with tuna, cream of mushroom sauce, peas and potato chips! We never ever got potato chips, except for tuna casserole.

Smart Mom...they are addictive! My Mom really didn't care what I ate, although she always cooked healthy foods....there was always fruit in the house, & stuff from the garden.....the last 15 years, I've been giving her stuff from my garden!

flowajen: You asked about Mutter Paneer awhile back (sorry it took so long to reply, I've been busy). It is a Indian side dish with peas and lumps of a sort of cottage cheese that looks like tofu in a mildly spicy brown sauce. One website said it was the most often ordered dish in Indian Restaurants, but I'd never had it before.

Last night: Crab cakes with aioli sauce and sweet potatoes.

I made 2 kinds of lasagna today, salad, fruit & ice cream for dessert...there were a dozen of us, so the lasagna went....

our Mother's day was nice.. Chinese was good.. weather was nice but did have the air on with everyone in the house.. bought ice cream cake & cupcakes .. nice not to cook once in a while for a party.. bad news is for Father's day we are tricking my sister into coming here and it will be her baby shower.. Mom was thinking we will get it catered ... but since it's Father's day going out will be out of the question.. so I offered to do it here.. now we have to get our butts in gear and really clean up the yard.. ugh!!!.. wasn't planning on something like this anytime soon.. been saying it for years.. I need a bigger house

AYankeeCat, how do you have leeks so early in CT? Do you plant seeds in the fall?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I actually am picking over-wintered leeks that grew from seed of over-winter leeks. They don't have much white because I just let them grow "wild" - but they are free.
