We'll continue with whatever comes across our minds that we think is worth sharing!
Susan, I apologize for giving you the wrong advice. Don't cling to the ways of the world. You are right, it's your stewardship, and as in everything else, there are always bumps. God bless you sistah.
BJ, may the source of your pain be something easy to heal. I remember you're not one quick to resort to painkillers. Poor sistah, take a rest from any strenous activity.
Still no Dylan LK?
Kel's second cousin just gave birth to a 11 pounds baby girl!!! The mother is only 5' 4" and weighs around 130. Goodness, he said there's never a big baby in his family.
Today, I'll be away from the pc. Got ripping and sewing to do, hopefully I'll get some blocks done!
Something funny to share today... this dog got Lola beat!!! Hmmm... vet anxiety?
***Sweet Interruptions #236***
Being 1st has crossed my mind Jaye!!! La la la la la la la!!!
You're cheery today Crissy!!
Could be the weekend is almost here?
Ok, back to reality here.
Susan you just do what you do and don't worry about it.
LOL!! That's a great pic Jaye, someone is afraid of the doctor
I can't get any of my work done, I have two problems and they're both programming issues and the programmer called in sick, so I'm stuck.
Morning everyone! Still no Dylan, about 10 minutes ago was the official full moon, so maybe today sometime??? This Grandma is not too good at the waiting game!
Humm, now seems an open invitation to me.....anything that crosses our minds! Okay, it has just crossed my mind I need to shower and go to the post office and bank. Later...................................
Wasn't that full moon pretty and bright!!??? Yea was up at 330 this am, dogs needed to go out.
BJ, you poor thing, hope they put a rush on the MRI, mine took two weeks to get results and then forever to have the surgery. I hurt my neck in Feb and finally Aug 12th, I had the surgery.
Last night we got a phone call, Doug's brother wanting to know where we moved too. LOL his dad said he had drove by here and everything was gone. Then he said he left us a bag of groceries on the front porch. While on the phone David says Dad is on his way over to Mom's to find out where we moved to. Pretty soon here comes dad, then he says, "I brought you some groceries, did you get them?? Dad says you are never home when I come by here. One of us is always here, once in awhile we both go somewhere but not often, so he argued with us over that. Then he started saying other things, like he bought a new motorcycle??? said he only has a couple more payments?? Then he was taking about his cell phone, got me totally confused there. When he was leaving I walked out with him, he says to, "I must be going crazy cuz I swear all of this stuff was gone. I told him if I moved from here I sure as heck am not taking David's broken down junk filled motorhome (another hoarder). THEN!!!! Doug says, I better get my tools out of the back bedroom........................I did not say a word..................There no way in H#%% will I live in this little house with Dad, nope no way!!!!!
So back to cleaning out the middle bedroom some more today ^_^
Cindy, sounds like he has alzhiemers?
LK That's exactly what I was thinking, my grandmother used to do the same exact thing when she was diagnosed, the first stage is like that.
I tend to agree, my late MIL exhibit the same forgetfulness.
Well, didn't do the things I had planned. Instead, was under the covers.
Maybe I'll get some strength to sew..
Thunder finally called me back. She is doing good, just misses everyone! Both of her boys are state side, and she is glad to have them safe and sound. I have her number if anyone wants it, send me a D-mail. They are still trying to find a way to get a new computer, as hers is fried.
(((((((((((((BJ)))))))))))))) hand in there, sistah!! We're here for you!!!!!!
I spoke to Thunder and what a sweet-sounding voice she has - I thought it would sound "deeper" to go along with her name "Thunder" lol
Jaye - not a worry about the advice. I just have to do what I do, and you're right - God sees all. I just felt I had to vent a little. It was Bible Study today, and the pastor looked right at me and was talking about sharing stewardship and not taking everything on. A friend at Bible Study said she was worried about my taking so much on with the Library. I told her I was not going to Martyr myself for the Library.
Another one said she thought I had a Committee. I told her that I asked for help, but that it didn't mean I GOT help. And I wasn't about to twist anyone's arm...... they help, or they don't. That same person was making suggestions about a Children's section. I told her, what's done is done. I may have made mistakes or errors in judgement about what goes where, but that I did what I did, and I had already forgiven myself my mistakes.
Anyway, this Sunday I will "hand off" the Library to the congregation.
((((Susan))) Have a big smile when you hand over the library.
I believe that the Lord is trying to make everyone else step up to the plate when there's no Susan. You, alone, can only do so much. If I were you, I'd thank the Pastor for the opportunity you had and Susan, just imagine of future generations that will benefit from an organized library. You started it all.
Talked to Thunder and we had a few laughs.
Someone here jokingly said that Thunder's number will be up for bid on eBay.
I told her that I'll start a dating website and use her phone number!! Wouldn't that blow Dave's mind off if he were to receive calls asking for dates????
Lolol!!
LOL I said I'd sell her # of e-bay LOL LOL LOL
Jaye - I've already decided to say that "I've been authorized by The Library Committee to 'hand over' the Library to the Congregation" I Do Not want anyone to think it's "Susan's Library" and I told the pastor that today. It is NOT "mine" - it belongs to the church - I just happen to like doing this type of work. He said no one realized what a large job this Library was. I guess that means he didn't know...........
The 2nd friend I mentioned said that when the last librarian did it, it was just as large a job. There's No Way it was as large a job. She #'d the books, but did not categorize them, and then put a coil-ring book in place for people to "check out" the books. (Do I sound a bit bitter that no one else was willing to help? yes, I guess I am). We also didn't have the book cases we have now - those were donated last spring by another church. (Thank you, Crossroads United!!)
All of the signing out of the books will be looked after by the congregation, but I will put the 'returns' back on the shelf. Other than that, I'm Finished with this. Once set up, it's largely a small maintenance job to make sure they're put back on the shelves. If someone puts them out of order, I'm not going to worry about it.
Morning everyone! Coffee is on, hot orange sweet rolls too!
It is a cool 42 degree's and raining here today.
Thanks LK. I know you're up early as you'll soon start on that sewing machine.
It didn't call for rain this morning, but it's drizzling. May wash some pollen after all. I've been outside, first thing this morning, excited to weed inspite of the drizzle. All I got done was to clear the froggy island, and move around some shepherd hooks. Getting to place the hummers' feeders where they're not too close to the cats usual play area. Who am I fooling, the cats are olympic runners!!!
Got a few blooms on the forsythias, but the Carolina Jessamine are now invading the prized vines (can't recall the name, blame it on diabetes!)
Last summer, Kel had practically obliterated all signs of that weed. Here they are back again. Not only are they invasive but their strong vines had wrapped around a cherished pottery windchime and broke it!!
One sistah/lurker had dmailed me to take care of myself. You know.. if we don't take care of ourselves... who would?
Thanks sistah, it hit home this morning, when in reality, am by myself.
I thank God, that I have the luxury to look after myself, and not sacrificing time for any kids :( Kel????
As long as the microwave's working and the toilet's in operation, he'd be fine!!
Took a pain killer and just downed 1 1/2 times the suggested dosage of Mucinex. Maybe this will speed up the healing. Will be drinking lots of lemon tea with honey too.
Have a blessed day my sistahs!
ETA: Kel can wash his own clothes!!! Think he's a carrier. Last week when I had the intestinal virus, he said that his sgt. had it the following day I had it.
Then yesterday he told me that another co-worker had the cold. So.. we see a pattern here?
This message was edited Mar 9, 2012 8:27 AM
oh Jaye i agree maybe he should do some bioihazard change of clothes when he comes home and washes his hands before he enters the house !!! yikes you can't keep getting sick.
good morning, thanks for the coffee.
Just a note to say hi to everyone.
well my dd is at it again. she is on one of her crazy train rides again.
she has an apt with SSI and then calls me last night to ask if i will drive here. But she is at a friends house in Piqua . only 30 miles away and then to her apt that is the complete opposite direction ..... i said no. Then she calls me and asked me to just pick her up , she was at a bar. ! she can walk LOL
good day to you all
sue
You said "No" to your DD??? Mama, you're right for doing that!!! She can jolly well find her way home from a bar!!
Thanks for the advice Sue. I'll definitely tell him that he would have to wash his hands before he gets to bed or touch anything in the house. Think he'll do it? I doubt he'd follow through.. that man will stop first at the shop when he's released from work. By the time he gets here, he'd be stripping and dumping his clothes on the bedroom floor.
Think I'll just quit picking them up.
Think I'll do something productive as of now!!
If anyone thinks I'm on FB for seeing my light on, well, I'm leaving it on because it takes FOREVER to download it.
Good Morning Ladies,
WOW I can't believe I slept until 7 am!!! Must be all the exercise I'm getting, first waking the dogs, then I've been tackling the middle bedroom. I found a WINDOW in there, lol. Came across box of small figurines, cats, BUDDAHS of all sizes, and those fancy perfume bottles. Does anybody do anything with costume jewelery? If ya want it let me know......
Jaye, does Kel carry a bottle of hand sanitizer with him?? After all he is touching every handle in that place that all of these sick people touch also Maybe should put some baby wipes in the cars so he car "wash his hands" before driving home, germs are all over the steering wheel, do you drive the same car he does?
Taylor just got over having strep throat again!! Missed two weeks of school. She will be getting her tonsils out!!!!
Goodness Jaye, I would place a bottle of hand sanitizer at the front door, and tell him he better use it or else!
Cindy, sorry to hear Taylor has been sick again! bet she/you will be glad to get those tonsils out finally?
Look what I just got in the mail! I won them from facebook, through the Windham fabric page! Gotta figure out what to do with them?
That's a good suggestion Cindy.
Better yet, I'll spray Lysol all over him when he steps across that door!!
Congrats LK! You're blessed now with more blues!
yaaaaaaaaaay LK - beautiful pieces! Had they told you that you'd won, so you were expecting them?
WOW LK kewl!!!!
Still cleaning out the bedroom, lol............belts by the 100's soooooooooooooo out dated, thousands of 45's, have not gone through it yet saving that and costume jewelery for last. Still have 4 dressers filled with stuff. Found some wooden monkeys I am keeping will post a pic later.
Yay... I found you !!! New room, I almost missed the links.
Just thought I'd pop in to let you know... the results from the MRI came back, and the nurse called me... I have a Degenerative Disk in the cervical spine area. She said it's usually caused by an injury, but NOPE... I just woke up one morning with a crick in my neck... I wouldn't exactly call that in injury. I have an appointment next Friday with the doc, because he wants to discuss "traction" with me. ??? What is that??? like a neck brace or something?
Anyway, I have read parts of the posts... but I can't comment on all them... back to the heating pad now.
oooh BJ - that sounds painful! If the disk is degenerating, then will they be doing something surgical for you? I'm sure the Dr will let you know, but please let us know, too.
Bj, traction is where your head is put Into straps, and then gently stretched up, away from your neck. That is what I had to do, years ago for my neck problems.
Hope you get some relief with it.

Yup LK is right, mine was a water filled bag that hung from a bracket that hung over a door. I had to put my head in this contraption then gently lower the bag of water 30 lbs to be exact. Did that for two weeks, went back to doctor he then said after viewing my MRI that traction would have never helped me. Then I had the disc fused in my neck C5 & C6, spent 3 months in a neck brace after surgery.
Never known anyone who had to wear a neck brace or traction. This is certainly new to me.
BJ, I truly hope it works for you.
After reading LK's description of her traction, I'm now sitting erect, neck stretched and shoulders not slumped.
Cindy, looks like you'll be up to your neck with recyclable finds!
Good night sistahs, I'm heading off to bed early. This cold forced me to take extra meds.
ouch on the back pain. i sure hope you get some relief BJ. sending a very gentle hug and healing prayers to you.
Jaye LOL to funny that Kel. ok it may not be funny but . i agree get him some hand sanitizer . hope he agree's to it.
very pretty pattern and blue's.
well i m pooped.
did taxes today. talked on phone with my buddy for 2 hrs
talked to Sandy the woman i clean houses with. She may fold up the business :( her sister is quiting on june. She may just want to throw on the towel. i sure hope not. its a great gig !! trying to talk her into letting me take over her sisters part. its good cash ! its tough on the body but i think i can do it for another year. or two ? we clean all floors on hands and knee's LOL
i wish you all a good sleep tonight and always
sleep well girls
sue
Sue - here's hoping that Sandy sees you as her new partner!!
Praying she will let you stay on too Sue!
Morning everyone!
Happy Saturday sistahs ^_^
Sue, echoing heartfelt wishes here. Wishing you'd get those clients and start your own profitable house cleaning venture.
Got cans of Lysol to kill the germs in the house. Even spray on the cats!!!
Kel said there's a 'scientific study' that hand sanitizer isn't effective. Germs have to be rinsed off.
Well... I told him that BEFORE he steps in the house, he will have to rinse himself off with the garden hose.
Not much to report what I'll be doing outside today. It's a beautiful day for more weeding and getting rid of those pesky jessamine, but I'll let tend Kel to them as he had promised!
At least I won't be inhaling allergents!!
Today will be pressing and sewing, instead. And oh yeah, coughing!
how come my post disappeared ???
no i don't want to be a partner .... its to hard on the body. i just need some extra houses for the next few months until Tim can get a real job . or the nursery does excellent this year. ... it could happen ??? right ?
nice day here too ... but still chilly.
got to go let the chickens out and play.
over 5 doz eggs are in my fridge ? uuhg... LOL can't complain. i think its time to start selling them
well Sue - here's praying you get what you need and want, in a job! (And Tim too!!!)
ah - well, if buying the business is what you want to do, then the most important thing to make sure you do is to Pay Yourself A Wage! Otherwise, you barely scrape by.......... and end up putting all your $$ back into the business.
and hire a good, inexpensive accountant to manage your taxes....
Ladies, please say a prayers for Susie/deejay9. I just got a phone call, and was told she is in ICU, with possible exhaustion, and or pneumonia. I will know. Ore tomorrow night sometime.
