That's ridiculous for a small dog. It didn't cost me that much for Harper I think it was like 225, yeah is was 4 years ago but come on!!

I am calling one of the friends of animals places tomorrow.. here are the prices .. IF they will do it on an older dog

Allison, those prices at the friends of animals place sound more reasonable for spay/neuter. I thinks vet prices are way too high.

Wow...I'm impressed.

Took Patches to the vet the other day, as she was having trouble with her back end. She has arthritis and a little hip dysplasia. She is currently on Rymadal and also on Cosequin. Another $150 later....

She is feeling better now. Will probably have to stay on the Cosequin, but the Rymadal may only be temporary.

Karen - the Cosequin is a very expensive form of Glucosamine. Glucosamine is available in most grocery and drug stores and at Trader Joe's much less expensively. It works, too. When things get really, really bad there is Adequin with is an injectable glucosamine that seems to help a lot. I have an Rx for HollyCat and give her a pop under the skin every Sunday and it does help her pain.

Poor Patches...:>( Had to put Suey on Rimadyl this year, but I only give it to her when she shows signs of stiffness.....
