"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I
always have. He is just my dog."

Mr is a Handsome man and no person will take his place in my heart. Molly has to earn it. She is a good girl/woman and just has to prove herself.

Harper giving her love to Domenic. I was so pleased with her since she is very shy and antisocial. She adored him, knew right away he was family. I'm one proud mama!

Good for the neighbors....you probably shouldn't own a cat if you expect them to come when called! Nice photos of Harper with the baby....my next door neighbor's female bulldogs were loose today...I was eating my lunch & saw them in the road....I grabbed a leash...neither had collars on...so I made a noose, & snagged the younger one....the older followed & I got them into their pens...have no idea how they escaped.....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Glad you caught them Marilyn.

Speaking of dogs escaping, my neighbors don't have a fence around their yard. They have two dogs that keep getting loose. The Pomeranian gets in my yard. I have a rail fence and my dogs can't get out but he can get in. If something happens to their dog while in my yard, who's responsibility would it be? I'm not sure what Abby will do if she catches up with him. I let the mom know that I wasn't sure what would happen but I still hear them running around. She even made the statement that they need a fence...???

Harper is looking at Domenic like he's gonna be her snack ^_^

Depends on who can afford the more expensive lawyer.
Most likely they would be, but refer to the above statement.

LOL Doug, guess that would be them since the irresponsible dad is a lawyer!!!

Great shot, Ronnie! Love it.

Very sweet, Ronnie.....beautiful kids too.

I wonder if sending the loose dog owners a certified letter that you cannot be responsible for the safety of their dogs if they get into your yard would get them moving. Do you know if your municipality has a leash law or if it is free range?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks guys!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I always thought we had a leash law I guess because I use a leash! Would have to look it up. I was serious when I said he was a lawyer, a letter probably wouldn't matter.

South Hamilton, MA

Does a dog need a leash on its own property? Coming onto yours would be a different matter. What would happen if dog is hit by a car?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that was my concern with the dog that they just let out and leave out until he comes home .. the people live down the street.. animal control lady said I would not be responsible unless Lily was in heat... she said even if my dogs were on leash.. and there was a fight it would be my fault because I should have a dog in heat outside.. just nuts.. but I looked it up and she was right

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

So you probably live in a leash law area. If you live in Free Range then you are responsible for fencing to keep other animals out of YOUR yard. My understanding is if you live in a leash law area, the owner is responsible for keeping his animal off other people's property and for any killing they do while off leash. I was just worried about your homeowners insurance paying if there was a claim for a dog fight on your property. Why don't you just call the Animal Control person the next time you see the little dogs running loose and let her know. Maybe Animal Control can solve the problem for you.

Allison - I think a dog in heat would be deemed an "attractive nuisance" hee hee. (Don't touch that, Victor!)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know with mine.. they wouldn't do anything unless I filed a formal complaint.. and they would know I did it.. my name would be on the report they get.. didn't want to start trouble.. felt bad doing it.. but every time I saw the dog coming around I would squirt him with the hose.. I saw a 4 against 1 fight being very bad.. he stopped coming in the back yard after a while

Thomaston, CT

Here, the person having the "roaming" dog is at fault....you are not responsible for what happens if they roam onto your property.....anyway, the folks who own the bullies thanked me for bringing them home....they were not in their pens....just in the fenced backyard, but they pushed their way through a narrow gap, which was rotted & it gave way....the fellow is an officer, he should take better care of his fence....he was apologetic.....
