***Sweet Interruptions # 235***

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning/Good Afternoon everyone!!!

Jaye I could tell you stories about the crap Dave does from now til dooms day. He's getting his car delivered to his work today so therefore I dropped him off on my way in. I'm sure we all have a system when we get ready to go somewhere. He was right in the middle of mine! He's an ex-body builder so he's very into his muscles. He's been doing A LOT of physical labor at work so he's all muscular right now, every 5 minutes he was coming into my bathroom "Look at this muscle, look at that muscle" OMG I'm trying to get ready. I had turned my kettle on so I could make my coffee, it had just started to simmer ever so slightly, I let it heat up to a boil so it stays warm til about 10:30 in an insulated mug. He turns off the water. I yelled, "Don't turn off the water!" He said, "But it's steaming!" I want it boiling!!! He turned it back on, then while making his lunch he's right in my way. ggrrrrr, got through that, had the Weather Channel on as always, they were showing some damage of Branson (it got hit right in the tourist district last night) so we were watching that, he kept wanting me to play frame by frame of the radar, so I did then I wasn't doing it right, I finally got disgusted and threw the remote down and told him that I have to get ready, I don't have time for that. I was blow drying my hair and he came in to 'assist' with that. Finally got in the car and all the way to his work he pulled down his visor to look in the mirror at himself, all in the middle of telling me how to drive, he only works 5 minutes from me. I thought by the time I dropped him off I was literally going to pull my hair out, how in the world did I ever make it through 33 years of life without him???? There's a reason this man was sent to me, right???

Sue so glad you're getting some space at home, I know how annoying it can get. Yay to cleaning your friend's house!

Well the office is having a birthday lunch together and I think it has just arrived. My boss, Jeff, turned 44, I think, on the 24th, I think.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Actually, Jaye... Thammasat only teaches in English... they may have other schools that teach in other languages. Thammasat competes with other BBA schools that only teach in English too... in China, Japan, New Zealand, etc.

Also, in Austria, both male and female must serve 2 years of community service in either the Medical field or Human Resourses. They don't have a military, so community service is their way of serving others. It's interesting, They're only required to attend school through the 8th grade... at which time they can either go on to high school, or attend a work program through a company and train for a specific skill earning money while they learn. Either way they go, when they turn 19, they have to do their community service. When they complete their 2 years, they can either continue with their training/work program, or go to college. Unlike here in the states, it's nothing unusual for someone to still be living at home with their parents till they're 25+ yo. Kids are not in such a hurry to grow up there.
Strange though... they can legally drink beer and wine at age 16. But from what I hear from Mike... abuse of alcohol is not tolerated among their peers... they just don't drink to party and get drunk.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Huh, that's interesting info BJ.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I'm still laughing about Jaye stapling the pockets of Kel's jeans. I read that to my DH and he just looked at me so strange. Guess he didn't think that was funny. Well, his sense of humor is just too much at times.

Will baby arrive on leap year day??? He just doesn't want to come into our troubled world too soon. LOL Hoping to hear you are a grandma today.

Jaye, still laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well Crissy, imagine you got another 33 years or more to go!!! And each day, there will be something Dave will irk you with.
With Kel it's getting to be a daily affair.

BJ, you're right. The one I was thinking of is not Thammasat. It's another U.. the name escapes me.
Leaving school at 8th grade in Austria? Wow.. guess they've covered all the basics. So many options for the kids. Interesting indeed.
It's not unusual to see very mature single adults still living with their parents in Asia.

Pegi, the stapler sure was handy that day!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Do any of you remember the group, The Monkee's? Davy Jones just passed away from a heart attack!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Day Dream Believer.. that's my fav. song from them.
RIP Davey.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Monkees was a popular tv show back in Singapore. I'd be screaming when they came on!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

awwwwwwwww I have Davey Jones' record album (something about his Father's Tie....). It's an LP, and I love it!
so sorry to hear he passed away.

NNNNOOOOO NOT MY DAVEY !!!! oh God that is so awful , he was so young still ... o h i m heart sick about that.
oh i sure hope everyone starts to feel better soon
Jaye staples LOLLL
crissy tell that man to get a clue and his own mirror ! LOL
oh my i sure hope mama is ok with her fall ? that would be so scary and her asthma. i sure am putting her and baby in or prayers.
Hi sistah Judy hope you get your pc up and running soon.
well Ohio had a high school murder. the poor familys of the children that were killed. We are all heartsick about it.
so many unanswered questions ? about the young man who did it ?
well not much else here
i love having the house to myself again !!! i can keep it clean for more then 2 hrs and no one leaves a mess !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ladies, don't forget today is Wed. Don't forget your prayers for all those in need.

Heather is still in the hospital, patiently waiting on the Dr. To make a decision!!! She is not a happy camper. She has high blood pressure, and she was told she needs to have the baby, but. I decision on when or how! Either induced or C section. The ultra sound revealed that Dylan is 8.5 pounds, and she is 39 weeks pregnant. He has cooked enough, Grandma say's get it done! LOL!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, I just don't understand how some parents are very reckless with their firearms.
Yes, it is so sad that it's not safe in schools anymore.

Yep Dylan, grandma wants you out now!!
Calm down LK, he'll be here pretty soon....and then you can have all the fun spoiling him rotten!
Thanks for the prayer reminder sis.

Ate my first piece of meat an hour ago. Chicken cooked in oyster sauce with a side of beans. So far, it went down well.
After prayers, I'm off to bed. Good night sistahs.

COme on Dylan lets " GIT R DUN "
sending prayers to everyone .

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, still no Dylan, Dr.'s can't decide if they want to force him or not. She will be examined again in the morning, and if she is still dilated, they will maybe make a decision then???

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

we'll patiently wait - even though we know you HATE waiting!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol!!! Now we know the dark side of LK.. she hates waiting!!

Yes I'm up. What I ate went through me. Talk about forced colon cleansing :(

Hope this will end today.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

****Holding LK's hand while she waits****

Good morning dear friends !!!

Hubby is in San Antonio dealing with ESPN. He really hates dealing with ESPN. So, he calls me to vent. My ears are tired from listening to him right now.

Poker night was so much fun last night. Great group of buddies I play with... always good for a ton of belly laughs. Although, I graduated from Poker Jail last night, and went strait to Poker Prison... I haven't won a pot in weeks... it's frustrating.

Sheesh, Jaye... are you taking anything for that? Hope you're feeling better today, and getting some rest.

It is scary to think that our children already have so much rage at such a young age to want to shoot their schoolmates.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

And waiting...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

Wow wicked weather these past few days but we need the rain and snow.

Hmm no baby yet????

Today makes two years ago that Doug and I met. Had a rough start but we are good now. Looking for a new place has been put on hold AGAIN!!! I know when the time is right it will happen.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Still waiting, LK? Someone hand that bottle of Bailey's please to LK. She doesn't need a drop in her coffee, she needs the whole bottle!! Lol!!

At least you had a good time with your poker buddies BJ? Doesn't the house takes a share in winnings?
When my Godma's brother set up poker games at his house, he takes a cut, for the food and drinks. Back in Singapore, there's no such thing as simple snacks. Food served was always the ones that his wife had to prepare on the stove.. like chicken porridge or fried noodles. The games will last for hours.
Gambling was illegal in Singapore then. He never got 'raided' as one of the regulars was a police inspector!!

Didn't take anything for the virus, BJ. Doc had told me once that it's better to let it all out than trapping toxins.
But I sent Kel to get some Kaopectate for me, just in case.

Congratulations Cindy and Doug. May you both enjoy many more years together.
You need snow?? That will be bad for the brugs if you had them in the ground already.

Kel lost his priveleges with Netflix!!! I was too ill to check behind him when he 'prioritize' the movies coming in. This morning, I discovered that only his B-Zombie 2 star rating movies were coming in!!! That man got the nerve to tell me that he'd watch them fast!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - how does one "lose their privileges with Netflix"?

The Lord blesses me every day - today we got Given a laptop. Our friend, who has his own computer company came by to "lend" me the laptop and after he left he called and said "I forgot to tell you - the laptop is yours, enjoy!"
I was so flabbergasted that I started to cry and thanked him. He said "enjoy, goodbye", cuz he knew I was crying with joy and couldn't say anything........
Now I can do the presentation at the Church with no worries......... btw - he added MS Office 2007 on it and took until 2am this morning to do it. What a Sweetheart. I'm thanking God for him..........

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

PTL!! Glad for you Susan, He rewards you for your good work, through another means! Oh wow.. MS Office 2007! That's a $500 value by itself I'm sure.

I forbid Kel to choose any more movies from Netflix...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan you are truly blessed to have a friend like that! Another earthly Angel for sure!
Congrats to you and Doug! Praying you will both have a along life together.
Well, she will probably be released from the hospital today, but she was told if she does. It deliver in about 10 days or so, they will induce her labor! she has new meds for her asthma, so that will help get oxygen to Dylan also. Thank God for miss clarol to cover these gray hairs! :)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - you forbid him to watch Horror B movies?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ahhh.. that explains the hesitancy on the doctor's part, LK.
They don't want Dylan to be a blue baby.
Have some of my anxiety pills!

Susan, it's just ordering from Netflix. Our account only allows 2 movies at a time. When I list the movies, I make sure one would be his choice, and the other would be mine.
This time, he did a no-no. Both were those horror films.
BTW, Kel has a vast collection of that genre, as he's always picking them up at stores for around $3 a piece. At 8 hours a day, it will be at least a 4 month movie marathon if he decided to watch them all!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, can you download the movies to watch over again, or just a one time viewing? Can you place them on a DVD?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, I can't stream movies since I'm on dial up. Too slow..
Streaming would be unlimited viewing.
With DVDs, it's for as long as you're keeping it. Used to be 4 movies at one time rental, but I had to reduce it, as the price went up too high!!
Think there's a security control on those DVDs where you can't burn them.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

OIC, LK - didn't realize that Heather's asthma; would deny Dylan oxygen.......... Well then it's best they keep him "cooking" lol Want those lungs to be healthy!!!

awwww no baby yet ? well the Dr's now what they are doing.
Bj glad you had fun playing poker.
Jaye feel better soon.
Susan congrats on the comp.
Cindy glad you and Doug are working it all out. :)
didn't do much today
watched a documentary on Amish culture. very interesting.
then i watched Glee i had on the DVR. it was the one with Ricky Martin.... oh lalalala that man can make me do things i can't say in public... he can also read me bed time storys !!!
Getting baby turkeys on sunday LOL pray that two are girls ! out of the 5 we are getting. or it will be a very very good thanksgiving LOL
I m still pretty heart broken over the loss of Davey Jones.... *sigh*

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye, I didn't mean we need snow here, I meant we needed snow on the mountains so we can have full lakes. And boy are we getting it. Where we live it will never snow, we are to far down in a valley.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

No, Jaye... I don't rake the pot. My house game is a tournament. Most cash games rake the pot for the house. I also don't serve food. Someone usually brings chips & dips, or something... and they all bring their own drinks... I don't provide all that. The one who deals gets tipped $5 by each player, because... believe me... that's a lot of work. Sometimes, the winners will tip the house just because there's extra work involved like cleaning. They're all a great bunch of friends, and always good for a lot of laughs. None of us have a lot of money to play in the cash games around here... usually $100 to $500 buy ins. So, we're just happy to play cards, chit chat, and have a chance at winning something more than we came in with.

Cindy, sounds like you and Doug have been through the roughest part... looking forward to a future together is a comforting feeling, isn't it?

OH MAN !!! No Dylan yet? Sheesh... still holding your hand sistah LK... glad he's getting the oxygen he needs now, though... and that your DIL is doing fine now.

Turkeys? Oh, my... you'll be waking up to gobble gobble gobble every morning.

LOL... Jaye... we have Netflix both dvds in the mail, and streaming... good thing Don doesn't watch movies... it's just for me, so I have total control over the queue. He doesn't even have the password to get into my account... LOL Got to have something to do all these nights he's working, and out of town.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

((((((((((((((((((Jax)))))))))))))))))))) Happy Birthday to you,
happpppppy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuu!!
So, you're another year wiser and more beautifuller. I wish you today a day full of unexpected joys! Love you sistah!

Sue, you're a Davy Jones Bereaver!!
I can understand that fully, they were the heart throbs of my early teen years too. But the quirky, nutty Micky Dolenz, that's my favorite Monkee. He sang most of the hits.
Davy's a looker, but Micky... he lit up the screen for me!

Ahhh.. that explains it. Cindy, I'll always be a tropical gal, and will never care for snow. Too much of an inconvenience despite the beauty!

What will you ladies be doing today, besides waiting on Dylan's appearance?

Think I survive the purging. Broke fever this morning and I should be 10 pounds lighter. Not a good way to lose any weight. So today will be the day I resume sewing!

Glenview, IL

Hic, Happy Birthday Jax!!
Hope your have a great day and keeping that cuppa filled!!

Waving hi everyone!! Yikes, my time is almost up, lol...going to see if i can log onto to another computer, uhm that would be way cool!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

BRRRRRRR!!!! cold and windy here. Harlee and Amy want to go walking so bad but this wind knocks me for a loop. Can't stand to have it blow in my ears, and when it does I suffer big time at night. Sounds like someone is blowing horns in my head, plus it makes me really dizzy. I suffer from Vertigo and it's not fun!!!

The temps are going to be in the 70's this weekend, so Doug and I are going to put up a 6.5 foot green house I picked up at BIGLOTS

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, can't wait to see your green house! Wish we had a big lots here!
