***Sweet Interruptions # 235***

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I might have to have you come get me with the ark if this weather continues.

To top it all off, a pipe started leaking in an upstairs bathroom last night. Geez what a mess!

later.................

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Cindy, glad you got to go visit. I know your mom enjoyed that too.

Never mind the ark, I just wish we could float the boat in the lake. We're still about 3' low... but that's better than the 7' low we were just a couple months ago. Don's suppose to go down today and see if he can raise the intake pipe to the pump... It's buried in the silt, and we sure don't want to suck up all that stuff when we start the pump. Besides, Don pulled the pump for the winter. We have a 30 percent chance of rain today, so I don't know if he'll get to do that today or not... plus, the water is way too cold to go wading and playing in the water now. Guess I'll be watering my veggies with city water for a while.

Hey, Cuz... been missing you... thinking about you often... how are you?

I have this spot, right at the base of my neck, right next to my spine.. and it hurts like heck. I got a crick in my neck from sleeping propped up while I was sick. Last week, the pain went down my back and up my neck and across my right shoulder. When I went to the doc she gave me a muscle relaxer for it... and it helped with everything except that one spot. I've used Theragesic (like Icy Hot), and heat patches... and it doesn't seem to help. I have a doc appt for next Monday, to check my BP again... so I guess I'll tough it out till then.

Geeze, Marion... water water everywhere. Inside and out. Hope you get that fixed soon.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

was in the hospital 2 weeks ago with a stomach virus. came home and 4 days later almost ended back there. took 3 weeks to completely get over it, now everyone here is taking turns getting it. thankfully they dont have it as bad as i did.
right now i.m fighting with my daughter. she sent kaden to school looking like a hoodlum. i said he does not live in the hood. i got on line and bought him all new clloths. no grandson of mine is going to look like a jaky bum

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... Cuz... I hear ya... kids today think that look is cute... sheesh
So sorry you've been sick... hope every one gets well and doesn't keep reinfecting each other... perhaps it's time to invest in some of those hospital masks to keep from breathing in the germs.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yeap BJ, "water, water everywhere and all the boards did shrink" just to quote from The Ancient Mariner but pretty much describes it here at the moment! I love 2 story houses but when water pipes are 39 years old well they are a pain in the be.......

Kathy, you need to stop getting sick on us..weeze needs you luv!!!

i hate being sick! the new puppy can find more trouble to get into. yesterday when i was weeding she was running with the weeds, eating my plants and jumping all over me

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Puppy says... "No mommy, don't play with the weeds... play with me !!! play with me !!!"

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

she passed out last nite after she ate. she usually terrorizes the house after her dinner

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh, Kitty - so sorry to hear you were sick, and now left with the vestige of the nasty "pain spot"!
Puppies.............. I think BJ is right - puppy wanted to PLAY mit U!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, sure hope you can get that pip fixed soon, before it does more damage!

Sure wish we had the energy of those puppies!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

We just aren't using any of the upstairs bathrooms. Thank goodness there is a completed bathroom downstairs complete with shower. Of course, Kim is the one most affected by having to go to shower at 5:30 am while I just pull the covers higher and sleep deeper!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I might have to hijack the ark!!

*@^!!! Yesterday after church I was happily cleaning up a nice part of the yard, and looking forward to doing more after errands today.
Nope, Lord wants me to rest. BUT Lord, my legs are much better, and I want to dance in the rain!! Unfortunately, it's not a light rain.. more like Moses had struck his staff on the clouds...

Helen's added to my special list, Susan.

BJ, how well I remember the gazebo. How lucky we were to be watching a firework display from the comfort of your gazebo.
Think the most endearing thing was to watch Judy nodding off....

As for reading, Marion, you won't believe this. At Cookie's, Stacey really made me proud. She didn't have a book with her!! Remember we'd all be yakking away and Stacey chose to immerse herself in a book on that comfy armchair?
Poor you Marion, would you be asking Charles to fix the pipe?
Aren't you glad you don't have to take a bath in that cold pond?

Waving back, Betty! At least you're getting predictable winter. It's what I call winsprummer weather here :( Only good for garden ornaments!!

Hey Sis Kathy! Please lay off the spicy food for a while. I'm glad you survive that nasty virus.
We would have to start wearing masks and gloves when we're in public soon!! Too many bugs floating around.
Your immune system is low, please watch yourself.

Okay, LK. I managed to mail out those strips for your charity quilt. Albeit HAPPILY. One way to get rid of "p" strips!! Lol.

Cindy, when your brother gets out, he has to seek help for his addiction. So many fall off the wagon after incarceration.
Kel's cousin has been in and out and the last time, for 4 years. He lets the drugs overpower his commonsense. Refused further help when he's released, and the last time he's jailed for attempted manslaughter.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

ok, moved the weeds and leaves from my glads and canna, and that little sh--, casey k. started eating them. then she kept chasing the guineas then run and jump on my back. can't get much done with her.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Kathy, she just wants to play with you...bad momma! Just like Kim's cats yesterday, she was watching a video to do a report for one of her classes this semester. Not satisfied that they were being ignored, they chewed the wire into to her earphones. Off to get some more tonight as she has to finish by tomorrow evening and turn her paper in. Bad cats!!!!

Nope Jaye, Charles won't be fixing he pipe for me. He is in a "snit" for now and when he is like that I just leave him alone!!! My house in Gainesville sold to another couple and he is upset I didn't take it back rather than take another mortgage from the new buyers. For some unbeknownest reason he thinks I should more back....nope, not happening!! Oh well, I will tell his wife to buy him some larger underwear and he will get over it!

Still raining and cool---everything is started to get water logged now but the azaleas are starting to look great.

Off to get dress so I can go to Best Buy with Kim.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye,
Where my brother is they have all kinds of classes for them to take so that they are prepared for "outside the gates", and they have strict rules they have to follow when they get out. We have people already helping with my brother's release. He told mom and I that he will tell his "friends" not to come around him if they are drinking or doing drugs. Everyday he regrets what he has done in his past. He has lost 17 years of being with his family and friends and it hurts him really bad. He has 7 grandchildren, and has only seen 3 of them. LOL he said he can't wait to get on a computer. I know he will stay straight, after seeing his mother suffer thru him being in prison, his father dying and not leaving mom any life insurance at all, a house that is so old and needs constant repairs and her not having the money to fix things. He has alot of friends that he calls on that come and do things for mom but not all can help sometimes too. He even said "I need to be home for you, you need me"

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, yea... the fireworks were an unexpected treat.

Cindy, when my son got out he found the nearest AA meetings... and he went every day for a while. He learned that he had to not be around the old friends, but he met some really good new friends that supported him. It really helped him stay straight. He only goes a couple times a week now, and He'll get his 8 year chip next month. He also just got engaged at Christmas... first really serious relationship he's ever had... he's 37 years old.

LOL, Cuz... I know it's not funny... but it is. Might need to tie her with a lead rope to a tree while you work in the yard.

just a quick stop in
busy here

my friend who has the bumps didn't end up with any cancer found but she has to take two weeks off and wants me to do some full time for her . hooray extra moneys we sure need it.
sorry to hear of the illness Kathy glad your better
Marion my goodness hope the rain gives you a break.
darn them puppies ! LOL
Tim is doing his CDL class for the next 3 weeks. i have thouse back to myself again .... lawdy it is about time !

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

MAN!!! what a race! From RAIN to FIRE!!!! Very exciting!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hey Cindy - you're one of the Night Owls, eh?
Rain to Fire???

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She is talking about the Nascar race, it was rained out, then two cars collided, and caught fire, burned part of the track!

Morning everyone!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Andy called just a bit ago, Heather has to go in Thursday for an ultra sound, if the baby is close to or over 9 pounds, they will induce her, and make her deliver the baby. Last week, she was told he was already at 8.5 pounds, so looks like that day is getting closer......

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh my, the excitement of the grand babies making their debut. So, are you going to be there Thursday for the ultra sound?

Did Savannah ever take her pill? The saga continues.

Don pulled one of his "jerk" moments this morning. I woke up from a dead sleep to cussing coming from the bathroom. Seems he put on 4 pair of jeans to find pockets blown out. I had to fly out of bed to save the day. Sheesh, I was upset with him. Then, while I was packing his lunch, he comes in to ask what I'm doing now... I just stopped what I was doing and stared at him and said "Good morning, dear"... at that very moment, he knew he'd screwed up. I could see the honey dripping off him all the way out the door.
#1. He never told me the pockets needed mending... I don't check them for holes when I wash them.
#2. I fix his lunch every morning. What did he think I was doing?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

ROFLOL BJ how good it is to read that and recall past days!!! Now it is only "Mom did you put my jeans in the dryer? " No, I don't usually do your laundry!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yaaaaaaaay baby coming!!!!
oh my rain & fire......... I see now...
grrrrrrr on Jerk DHs........... eh, BJ?!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs!
LK, you'll be pacing the floor Thursday.

BJ, Kel did the same one morning. No, he didn't throw a hissy fit, but had nicely suggested that since I'm not working, maybe I could sew up a couple of his jeans pockets.
It's not the way he said it that triggered my next action, but it's how he said it.. that "Since I'm not working" has sarcasm laced around it!
Guess what I did? Stapled the fabric!!! Oh yes, that felt good when his fingertips and thighs pressed against metal!!

Men expect us to be their mothers!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oooo... "since your not working" would have started a war here. Don better not ever start that one with me. Bad Kel, Bad.
LOL... STAPLES? Bad Jaye, Bad.

It's not that I mind mending his pockets... but he needs to communicate better. I really really hate being woke up like that.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol around our house there's no such saying as "since you're not working" cuz we're Both not working lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not a good way to start anyone's day!
I will wait till he tells me she is going to the hospital and they start the pitocin. I think that is what they give to start contractions? Anyway, once I know she is in the hospital, I will be on my way. Don't know if it will all start on Thursday, or has to be scheduled for another day? I will let you all know when I leave. Promise!

Glenview, IL

Waiving hello from the Library!!

Grr, computer still down and now something wrong with Alissa's!

Sigh...

Hope everyone is doing well...Miss you all so much!

Trying to get into the other room! Can't remember site name, duh.

Linda kay, waiting anxiously for Baby!
BJ, just hate getting woken up in that manner.
LOL, Jaye for stapling kels pockets!

Sorry you've been so sick, Kathy, but glad you are better.

Ah yes, only starting to dream about the gardens, how cool you got going with yours.

ok got to make rounds...Enjoy the day/Week.

Love and Armwraps to all.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Judy - ya mean .ORG????

hello
we got savannah a liquid to take and it went down smooth.
wow yo all have been busy.
hooray baby coming soon. wow 8.5 lbs my oldest was 10.5 lbs.
glad your feeling better Kathy
BJ to funny LOL
got lots to do
still cleaning houses did two today

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs, coffee is ready and there are creme filled donuts waiting!

Waving at Sistah Judy. Hope you get your pc issues resolved. I know you must feel bad about Alissa's pc.

Yay for Savannah. That liquid must be very sweet to have her taking it easily.

It's Pedialyte, crackers and rice congee for me today.
Yesterday all day long I had a severe headache and Tylenol didn't help.
Then the night and sleep were interrupted. Emptied the stomach both ways.
May be an intestinal bug.
Kel kept saying he didn't want to be infected, and drilled me as to where, whom.. I've been or seen!!! Shut him up when I told him that I'm the one that has been home all the time, and he's the one exposed to prison immates and shop customers. So. he might be the carrier!!
I can't stand his arrogance, when he's down with the bug, I don't treat him like a pariah!

Ok.. I've vented.

Will not be sewing today, who knows I might transmit germs to the squares :))

Have a better day than me, sistahs.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well Jaye, I don't have the "emptying" process going on but boy do I have a cold!!! Hit me really quickly yesterday and I think I will be horizontal for most of today. Hummm, did Kel sent that to me way down here? LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Heather just called she is in the hospital and dilated to 2 cm. She had a bad asthma attack yesterday, and passed out and hit her head when she fell, so when she came to, she called her Dad, he went and picked her up, and rushed her to the ER. Well, she started contractions while she was there, so they took her to labor and delivery. She is not having contractions now, but she is still dilated, so she is waiting for the Dr. to tell her whether they will induce her today or not! She should know more in about an hour.
When I find out what is going on, I will post here with a quick, I am off, see you later. I will take my ipad with me, and as soon as I get internet connection over there, I will let you all know when Dylan arrives.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Woo Hoo... LK... I'm so sorry she had the asthma attack... that can be really serious for some ppl. Will be watching for your posts.

Sheesh, Jaye... Don did the same thing with me when I was so sick the last couple weeks. I had to point out that perhaps someone at work could sneeze on his shirt, and then I picked up the germs when I handled his clothes to wash them. He liked the scenario that I caught it from one of my poker buddies. Ignore him, and get well sistah.

OMG, Marion... take care of yourself... I just got over all that crud... came on suddenly with me too, and left me with all kinds of repertory infections. Took my last antibiotic yesterday, and I think I'm finally over it all. Except this dang muscle spasm between my shoulder blades.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am almost positive I caught the germ from Kim. She has been sick for about a week and inspite of staying clear of her--well anyway .......
Just have to get over it as soon as I can as I need to go back down to help with Mom some.

Love the frog and the saying BJ.

LK keep us updated.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Thought some of you might like to know some news from abroad.
Remember the exchange students we had here? Well...............

Mike... from Austria.. he will graduate from High School this year... then (as required by everyone upon graduation in Austria) he'll serve his community service by serving 2 years with the Red Cross. After that, he hasn't decided what college he wants to attend. Don and I bought him a really nice professional camera while he was here, and he's been getting really good with it. Some of his photos actually have an Ansel Adams feel to them... I hope that he really does something wonderful with that talent.

Eve... From Thailand... she graduated from high school this week. And found out today that she was accepted to the BBA International Program at Thammasat Business School in Bangkok. It's a very elite school, and only about 200 students are accepted each year out of thousands who apply. She is beside her self with excitement.
I never heard of this program before, but there's BBA International Programs in a lot of countries, and she'll be attending competitions in all those countries. The interesting thing is that all the classes, in all those countries, are taught in English.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

BJ, that is great news on your kids! Congrats to them!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She is still in the hospital, they have not induced her yet, they are now saying she may Pre-eclampsia. Something to do with her blood count, and high blood pressure, so they still could induce her any time now, they are just watching her blood count.
Did I say I hate waiting???

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

BJ, I am walking funny!! Yep, he got my knickers in a knot for sure. Impossible to ignore that man when he is the other human in this house.
Most countries require males to perform either military service or community, for 2 years once graduated from HS.
As in Singapore, after the military servive, then they could pursue college education. Any delay in military service for whatever reason.. living abroad etc.. the parents will have to pay a hefty penalty. Like more than $30,000.
Eve's gonna go far. I understand that Thailand is the only country that also offer BBA school with Chinese/Mandarin program too.
Guess they're getting ready for the expansion of China's global market.

Marion, lots of hot tea with honey and lemon. I hope you have some rest before the trip to your mum's.
No fun being ill.

Will check in for more news on Heather, LK. Prayers sent that He keeps holding her.
