What's for dinner?

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm going to try corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots baked in the oven later today. I usually do the traditional stove-top boiling method but baking is easier for me. I've read some recipes on the internet and it seems like it should work. Just have to add some water - about 2 cups or so - and that should do it.

Corned beef cabbage at my niece's. Their mother was Irish and so, I am taking each of them a pitcher that she had given to my mom. They have shamrocks on them. Thought they would appreciate it.

The corned beef turned out great. 3 hours at 350 degrees in a roasting pan with about 3 cups water and 1/2 cup vinegar covered with foil. No green wine.

I am cooking a pot of Navy Beans to make that Muslim Bean Pie we were talking about last week or so. Also going to try making no-fail sauerkraut from a recipe on the Cooking forum - with the price of cabbage right now - won't cost much if I fail. :)

Thomaston, CT

My Gran used to make her own sauerkraut.....today I'm having butternut squash ravioli with sage butter, and a dandelion salad.....Victor, love the broccoli rabe!

Ditto to slow cooker pot roast here, with Brussels sprouts, green beans, and carrots on the side.

I'm musing over Tempranillo, Syrah, or Zinfandel.

Hello, AYankeeCat!!!!
I'm adopting "stoop." Do I need to quote you every time??? :-)
My soups tend to turn into stews... sort of, as I add stuff that I think would be good... Or maybe too much rice... Whatever. I think "stoop" is a great invention!!!
