Best/worse&what did I learn today..chat with friends!

Betty - that was a commercial just to air on my station in our area. The commercials are notorious. They have topped one million dollars each just for a :30 second commercial if purchased to air nationwide.... :o)

Yes, Paul had a doctors appt. and left from there to go get Shane. They got home about 5:00 tonight and we wil take him back Sunday morning.

Debbie - did you cook dinner for Shane? If so - what? His favorite ?

ROFL Mary, he had to come home and have pizza from down the road....and bbq chicken wings!

Tomorrow I will make him chicken with tortilini (sp?) and broccoli with grated garlic and olive oil.

LOL.... We are just alike.... I made DSD1 her fav chicken dinner when she came home last time... we call it "Chicken Papada"

Some kind of Mother instinct kicks in now when she gets here.... I hardly cook anymore !

siiiiiiiiiiigh well, work still hasn't found out if the job I'm doing has been approved to be a permanent position.
From Calgary, to Montreal (approved) to Washington DC (approved) and then to Paris (still not approved after 3 weeks!).
If there's no final approval by Friday the 10th, I'm gone. The company can't get temps anymore - they aren't allowed to, by company policy.
Well, I'll just get the agency to find me another job.........

Don't despair Susan.... the 10th is still a week away. I know it is all well and good for me to say these words I am not the one waiting onpills and needles to see if I have a permanent job. Sending positive thoughts and energy your way!

Glad your boy is home for his first visit. I wondered how long he would last without a visit. You and Paul are lucky that his college of choice is not so far away. I was about the same distance from home and my dear sweet dad would drive up to Guelph and pick me up at the drop of a hat. Yes I was a daddy's girl.

Night started off not so good for Santa Warren but once he got to sleep he stayed there until he heard me up at 5 am making coffee. I slept too! I am so grateful that a friend stopped round at midnight after working afternoons. He said he was too wired to go home and sleep and he knew I wasn't sleeping so down he came. The fact he braved that %^^$ lane really just blew me away. This is a guy who is not a close friend but a real sweetie. Some gal missed the boat with this guy - he was jilted about a dozen years ago and hasn't dated since. Anyway I slept for just over 5 hours - a deep sleep, no horrid dreams. I feel like a new woman.

Mary I guess Ia m being nosey but I always wondered how this worked - are you paid a commission on each add you sell or do you have a base salary with a lower commission built in?

Betty is this the day you and Noah got to TO? Looks like perfect travelling weather in our region, hope it is the same for you.

Off for more coffee. That first one tasted mighty fine this morning. Vanilla Hazelnut coffee made for the taking ladies plus it might be a little early but a fresh apple pie I made last night. Lots of extra old cheddar from the local cheese factory to go with it.

You know, it amazed me when roger passed on that it wasn't really family or close friends that stepped up yo the plate for support or hugs that it was acquaintances..Darlene and Mike to name a few who later became more than friends and more than family!

How very kind he was th have come over Dianne and as you say to brave the elements, hugs to him...how old did you say he is?? Hmmmm. Does sound like a keeper.
My day with Noah isn't until the 25th providing no storm unless a surprise birthday is planned.

Know about the pick up in different cities..often made the trip to Toronto to pick Jeff up for the weekend..home cooked meals always but Roger was the cook. Lol

Mary I wondered, thought the cost would have been to good of a deal to miss. You would not have had to go seek out advertisers, they would be knocking on your door!

No storms here Dianne, but 160 miles from here in San Antonio, they had thunderstorms with large hail last night.
Glad to hear you both slept well, even for 5 hours.

Dianne, I am so so happy you were able to sleep. Was worried about that after last nights note. Friends can be such a blessing, and I know you needed that rest!

We are waiting for the doctors office to open at 9:00 and have to call for DH. His elbow has locked up his arm, and he has it in a sling packed in ice. Can't move it but 10 degrees.....and this is NOT the one he just had surgery on. He woke up about 5:00 in pain, had taken a pain pill at bedtime and it wore off. I see two more surgeries in his future, egaads! This is his right arm so I will be driving him.

Susan, I will say some prayers for answers to the job situation. Just remember, if it doesn't work out...there is something better waiting for you and pray you find it if it isn't this position.

Betty, had a nice nap waiting for Shane to get home yesterday with "my" blanket....woke up and had 3 kitties on me trying to reclaim "my" blanket. I got up and folded it.....came back and this is what I see. Notice the dog toys? That cat Axl is Izzys baby...and she brings him toys.

Omg Debbie, I'd swear that is my Riley!! Too funny, made one for the kitties that sleep in bad bedroom, no sooner are they inside that one is claiming it..must be the softness of the flannel..got to love it..can't get more comfy than that!

Called Cathy, we went to Timmies for breakfast, then some errands I had, one being granite countertop for washroom..color I chose was white rose, comes from India..Bernie is to come tomorrow for measurements and if all ok by next weekend I can scratch that " to do" off my list.

Then took Cathy to the Anglican church for soup, homemade rolls, apple crisp and icecream..yummy! Now home for an hour and off to the All denominations Church for Valentines Day tea..

While at the luncheon bought tickets for winterfest fish dinner..guess I'll not have to cook today...did buy some butter tarts and chocolat/cocoanut cookies .. I say it's to help the church but more likely because they looked so yummy!!

He has to call the Ortho specialist (that he just saw YESTERDAY) on the elbow, probably get it drained and a shot. They put him on an anti-inflamatory and a pain med. Said he wasn't touching it to drain letting Ortho take care of that as it is a mess. This is the right arm......he had surgery on the left in August! Good heavens!

That is definately NOT good news Debbie!! Will he have to wait a long time for the appt? Can't work like that can he..you must be worried sick..prayers and hugs coming your way!

Ann dropped in, wanted me to help her with something in town so off for tea, picking her up, off to Midland the home and to fish fry...guess I could call this a non Betty relaxation day. Lol

Dianne - SO glad you got a little sleep and kudos to your friend. No nosey at all... my guarantee is so low... I hardly remember what it is... maybe $1000per month? If I were to see $0 I don't think I'd get it... I'm 100% commission. We make 5% on advertising agency business, 10% on direct business and 20% for the first year on new direct business.

My biggest account went national and my managers keep promising to replace it only they haven't yet.... which is why I'm so angry at them right now....

Betty - yes - re: the superbowl was the one time they came to me wanting the spot. It was my smallest client so I was surprised....they paid more for that 1 commercial than they spend with me per Month ! LOL. Sounds like you've got a nice day of yummy treats.

oh Debbie - definitely Not good news....... must be painful?!?!

As for job - the Lord will take care of me. In a funny way, I've told elders in our Church it would be a blessing if I Weren't working, as I could do so much more for the Church.......
Also, one of the project managers at work seems to think that my job is all administrative overhead, and not charged to projects. Well, I have to tell him, ALL my work is charged to projects (3 of them), so I'm Not a "drain" on the company!! I guess that's why he's not getting me to do project work - he thinks I'm simply an Admin Assistant when in actual fact, everything I do is to be project related!!
Anyway, I'll find out Friday or before. The company is "famous" for waiting until 11:59 (figuratively speaking) to make a decision. If I don't get the job, hopefully I will get one that will respect the fact that I can offer SO much more than they're asking of me..........

I'd best get back to working on the Church library stuff............
