Good morning, dragging here. Went to bed close to 2:00 after DH got home.

Grabbing some coffee and some cinnamon raisin toast and will be back in a bit.

BETTY...whats the scoop for the weekend? We do have rain right now and snow expected a bit later...but in the upper 30s tomorrow.

Morning all, as I said the weather is a typical winter day in Canada here, some school closings but not in my area ..is a nice day to be home..feel badly for Suzanne as she has to travel to the city for a signing. Breakfast Television just said the freezing rain warning has been lifted..

Dianne,Thea and Debbie hope you are not in any storm warning.

Not sure what they are calling for tomorrow?? Debbie can you let me know what is happening in your neck of the woods..if ok might get up extra early and drive over.

Guess what, cut 3 pieces for my stained glass this morning, another 3 and I can start to solder..taking me a bit but can see end of tunnel. Lol

Give this a try, it doesn't look bad. Just rain throughout today changing to snow showers.

Called Cathy, thought she might want to take a ride but she is still in bed, to me that means she's not well..Darlene caught a cold, Ann has daughters up, the others don't have passports..who knows, might call and ask Aunt Muriel if she wants to visit old friends in St.catherines which is only 15 minutes from border on Canadian side..they are quite elderly so it would be my good deed of the day..

Lottery is 50 million, got to buy tickets, then we'll have a reunion and a shopping spree for all...best I not forget!

Not much going on here is is gloomy out and raining. Trying to do some sewing and working on passports.

Lol you'll need them if I win that 50 million..a trip somewhere will be in order!

Debbie - saw the forecast. From This neck of the woods, that doesn't sound bad! IF it freezes after the rain, That would be nasty!

Got a bit of a "startle" this am. I was about 10 blocks from work, and within 1/2 block of moving into the lane that opens up to my right, when suddenly a fire truck started its siren at my passenger back bumper!!! Yikes! It was coming onto the street I was on....... I couldn't move over to the right, cuz He was there, so waited until he moved into my lane and then moved into his lane to the right........ I sure jumped when he blasted the siren, you can bet! I hope and pray that no one was seriously hurt...........

Five minutes ago it was raining like crazy....and now has turned to snow.

Just listened to weather forecast.a.showing snow and windy! Drats, will watch in the morning..always next weekend right?

Bernice came over this afternoon, just as she arrived rescue vans went by..while we were catching up helicopter landed at the township..

Airlifted 3 people..just came on news, man lost his life, other 2 who I believe were women and are critical..happened at the corner here, slippery roads hit a tree. Was getting hair cut a 4:00 went next door to use money machine, said denied..yikes how could that be?? Went to grocery store..no money, on to last machine in town, no money..guess when they hit the pole it damaged some electronic lines for machines. Glad I know hairdresser, will have to drop in the pay next week..

Tell me, do you all carry money?? Get into such a habit of using my bank card everywhere lucky I have coffee money...but then, I'm like Judy, always misplacing my wallet..

Won't be a late night just in case I can go tomorrow!

Hoping the snow will hold off till late Sunday.

Morning everyone, cold but clear here anyway..are calling for a front to arrive sometime today but you can't believe a word they say..watch if it doesn't move through..lol

Debbie have everything at the door, just going to warm up the car..heading towards Midland, yikes card wouldn't work due to accident so couldn't get gas nor money..will try in Midland then be on my way.

If something happens that the system is still down I'll get back to you by 7:00 -7:15 other than that it will be safe driving and see you around 10...

As a precaution if I'm not there by 10 don't wait too much longer means something has detained me..alway Tim Hortons to get on dg with wifi..but won't help once you are on the road....

Dianne, some areas aren't taking the solder so will do more sanding..any suggestions as to what I could try? That's what you get for leaving a piece for 3 or so years

Betty and Debbie have a wonderful time and give enough hugs from all of us to each other, okay just one big one will do otherwise you'll just be standing there hugging all day and we all know you have better things to do. Hope the weather cooperates and you get some money. Will be thinking of you guys.

Have the dishes soaking and will mix up the chicken and rice casserole I'm making to take to my Mom's and than some meatballs in spaghetti sauce for them to have will my sis is there. I baked them cookies yesterday and finally got the kitchen and dining room floor scrubbed.

I have some sewing to do tomorrow while at home. I do want to run to town and wash all the rugs in one of those big machines. Too much for mine. I'll bring them home and hang them up to dry. I would like to get the sewing done so I can play with the quilt blocks that I picked up at my Mom's house. She had started on a Cathedral quilt for me so would like to play with it. It'll take years for me to finish it. I want to pick up the boxes of material she has there and pack them in totes. I think she had intentions of taking some of it to a home that still makes rag rugs. I will eventually go through it all and if there is enough I will call and make sure they do that and then drive it out there. It's in the western part of the state so won't be till later in the year when weather is better.

I went for a job interview last Thursday and I will start part time and hopefully they like me and it will turn into full time. It's at a Dr.'s office. Will answer phones and greet people and things like that. I've known the Dr. for years and we always got along. It'll be from 8:30 - 4:30. I start this coming Wednesday. Had to pull all my old scrubs out and wash and iorn them. Wish me luck.

Okay enough about me. I will check in tomorrow and try to catch up on everything. You all have a great day and God Bless you all!

Shirley sounds like you have been cooking up a storm. And good luck with the job sounds like you will do just fine. I remember the day of scrubs and ironing them. (do not miss it)

Try put a memory foam one too, ut make sure it is a quick release one. The slow release ones will suck you in, and keep you in that position.

My back yard thinks it's spring. I have about 5 irises in bloom... Can see those daffodils that I kept planting and kept getting dug up back in October... about 4 peeking through... I hope they make it... I've never grown those before.
green coming through all over. remember the lupine I planted LK ? One random one is growing out of my purple fountain grass! Makes me happy but hope it's not too early. We didn't get a winter really.....

Hope you find a good mattress Laura.. those can get so expensive.....

Oh Mary I would love to see you garden in bloom. I need so badly to see some green outside instead of ice and snow. Daffodils are hardy Mary so they might really surprise you and all of them come up.

DH has had 2 days of being somewhat better. Still waiting for the doc from the CC to call back. You can never get in touch with them you always get a pager or a machine.

So glad Betty and Debbie are meeting as we all sit here. Safe driving the two of you!

Lost power yesterday for a bit and I have lost my email, had to reconnect with DG and FB so I am gradually getting things up and running. Takes me forever as I am so computer inept.

I have 2 more weeks to wait to see if I get this job permanently - by Feb 10th. It's already been approved in Washington DC and is now in Paris (with 2 other jobs). I found out that if it's not approved for perm, that they are not allowed to have temps anymore. I asked the Operations Director what happens if they don't get approved and who would do the work - he said "I don't know..... pray, I guess!!". He asked if I'd told the agency, and I had, but said "just because the job goes perm doesn't mean I assume I will get it." He said "No, but you'd have a better shot at it, cuz you're already working in the job" It will have to be posted, and then I could apply (actually I think the Agency applies on my behalf, cuz I can't go for the job outside of them - they get a "finder's fee" for me, after all)

I am back home safe. Left Betty at 2:10 or so. She was looking for a place to get new wiper as hers went kaaputz in this bad weather!

Betty, I got home and no snow whatsoever. Totally green once I hit Ridge road around here.....More rain than snow.

When I left Betty, the snow had covered the ground completely (was green when I arrived) and you could no longer see the grass. SO was coming down fast, hard & heavy.

I am requiring a nap. Was a wonderful meeting with Betty....shared hugs all the way around for everyone!
