Sorry Ronnie
NE Pets forum #19
Thanks so much guys ♥
He is exhausted and didn't get up for dinner, snoring on the couch. I know Danes have a shorter life expectancy and I accepted that when I fell in love with the breed, but I'm just not ready for him not to be here. I was spoiled with Callie and Sabrina they lived until they were 12, I was very lucky with them. Atticus will be 6 in April.
That's just way too young. Lost Crash's brother at only seven. Was terrible.
way too young.. that's how old Jily & Lily's mom was when she left us
oh no so sorry to hear Ronnie
I'm sure Atticus is very grateful for the loving care he's been getting. What a shock, though. Get well soon, Atticus!
Ronnie, im so sorry to hear about Atticus! Will be praying you have him for another 6 years!!
Lost my wolfhound when she was 7.....just awful to go so soon.....
We still give the our hearts don't we though and always will...
Waiting on the vet to call for the new meds. The cardiologist that read the EKG recommended 7 different meds every eight hours, my vet it going to try to eliminate most and see what we can get in quantity cheaper.
Now he isn't eating, even made him some eggs and wouldn't touch them. Did get up and get a drink and went out in the yard but then right back on the couch. I was able to get the meds he takes now in him with some bread and lots of butter. I have some ground beef I'll cook up for dinner and see how that goes.
Oh, dear.....the poor guy must not feel well at all......
:(
Wall-e so funny, came downstairs he was sleeping(I still have to make sure he's not getting into anything...sheesh thought this would be over...he ate one of my daughter's dress up shoes last week)
I asked him "are you being a good dog?" he gets up and goes in his kennel, LOL
Oh, he's a smartie.....my son said his 8 year old wire-haired griffen chewed one of the kid's slippers last week....he was mad because they didn't take him with them.....
Wall-E sounds like my Jerry, Jen. I think it will be a lot of years before he finally stops chewing up things, and I have to get him toys that are nearly indestructible. I love him, though.
I hope Atticus lives longer for you, Ronnie. 6 is too young, though I know those large breeds aren't known for long lives. 12 is a long time for a Great Dane to live. You were lucky with them.
Karen
all of you with cats....do you have a whole foods near you?
http://www.livingrichwithcoupons.com/2012/02/whole-foods-free-halo-spots-stew-cat-food.html
I will use the cat food coupon. Thank you!
No problem! I love that site!
Jen, closest Whole Foods to me is 45 minutes away. Not worth going there when you can only use one coupon at a time. How do these extreme couponers do it? So many coupons I've seen don't allow you to use more than one or have other restrictions.
I love the zip up hoodie, but way too expensive for me.
Victor, I got one of those for $10 at TJ Max just before Christmas, but I don't like it that much.
Karen
Westminster is on tonight....
Thanks Marilyn
I liked all the group winners except for toy.....Pekes aren't dogs, they are dust mops! If a dog can't walk, something's wrong....
Yep, I favor dogs that are a bit closer to nature (and natural motions), and not really impaired by affectations caused by specific breeding.
Run Wild, Run Free.
LOL, the one with the teased up bouffant hair...oh my! Way to much maintenance for me.
It hurts me to see what they do to the poodles.....
LOL!
It's really ridiculous what they do to those dogs....nail polish, mascara, tweezing the eyebrows
I agree. I'm not a fan of beauty pagens wether they are for people or pets. I've always had Heinz 57s for dogs. They've always been health and friendly even if they would never win at a dog show.
My kind of dog is the one called Wolf in the cartoon BC. I love the expressions on his face.
The silliest is seeing the overweight women in heels and dress, running with them!
hey hey now.. I was watching the dog show before the super bowl.. and there was an overweight man running as well.. they all look silly!!!
Oh and the clothing is soooo bad!
Yes, men too - in the suits or tuxes!
Oh, I love the Pekes. They're adorable. But I wouldn't have one, not with all that maintenance.
Karen
Yeah and why do they always wear dark colors esp when they have a white dog? Hairs all over them
Cute Celeste. We don't let Bella on the bed either, but when I was sick for a week last year and spent most of the week in the spare bedroom, she was right there with me too.
it' funny how they just know.
They do make you feel better though don't they!!
We've had quite a trying week with Atticus...yesterday morning he got his hind leg wedged between the reclining sofa seats, He was turning around and it slipped between the cushions and got caught under the bar. It took a while but we finally got him out, he was fine just scared. If we hadn't been home I think it would have not ended well. No more sleeping on that sofa for him. He is a bit out of sorts because of it he doesn't care for the leather couch that is supposed to be his, he wants to be in the family room with my husband.
Well - just move his leather(!) couch into the family room! LOL! Glad the big dude wasn't hurt.
Oh, poor boy Atticus! I'm not happy that the Peke won...the Dobe was so beautiful, & I don't even favor that breed....the Kerry blue was exceptional also......I agree with you, Doug...Wolfie in B. C. is a cutie. Pixie, that's one keeper of a photo....Cyrus is a Mommy's boy!
