Google maps says it is about a 5 hour drive Dianne!
2012 Sistah's Gathering - Party is at Betty's
LK From my place to Betty right? Betty is very close to Midland. Figured it would be about that long of a drive. I think Betty said she could probably do it in 3 - 4 hours....lol
Ahhh Dianne, I'm so praying you can join us..
Midland is 5 minutes away..lots to see and do in this region..
Just checked, says 4 hrs.52 minutes...go directly to Toronto via 401 then 400 north right to Waubaushene/Midland cut off and about 5 minutes off direct route..
If you take the scenic route via Peterborough etc. it's 5 1/2 hrs..but what a view
Now wouldn't that be something..

Been to Midland and it's gorgeous!!! Boy Google did a LOOONNNGGGG way around! Sheesh!!
Tobermory! Oh my goodness, have some great memories from a trip there with my late brother. I am putting pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters aside for this trip if it happens I am able to come. Life here is so uncertain with Mom.
Marion, will you be driving, or flying? If you can go!
Ooh Barb, don't think I ever did see photo's of your visit..know Norm enjoyed Big Chute Railway Marine...Crissy, yes you and I did Midland and cn tower in Toronto..lost all me photo's when computer tower fried
Marion....keep saving, sure hoping you will make it..know if at all possible we'll all be having a group hug
LK, it is contingent on many things. Kim will come with me and at this time we are planning to drive. Again it is very contingent on how Mom is doing...........
Dianne, via rail has service to Toronto from Kingston and bus to Barrie where I could pick you up, also a consideration is you don't like driving the distance. Not so sure it would be a time saver though.
Marion, so would love to have you both..know family comes first, certainly can appreciate that..your mom fell I'll just before Joyce's gathering wasn't it?
Oh no Betty I would drive. Got my little red Tang that needs a good run. Didn't get one this summer that is for sure. Just hope I don't get a ticket on my way there though!
Ahhh you are a speed demon are you Dianne?? Lol
Good for you!
We all are when we get in the Mustangs, just something about that gas pedal, has to go to the floor! LOL
Yep, I had olds Starfire convertible when I was young..pretty thing ,me and the car..talked myself out of many a ticket!! Lol
Now they would throw the book at me!!
Have to get Darlene to bring hers over...maybe we could have a garden parade
Who needs a Tang to be a speed demon?????? LOL a Rogue works, Corolla works great too, I want one of those new Camaro's, those are sweet!!!!
Debbie abd I Crissy can vouch for your driving ability! Lol
I have a Sebring Convertible. LOVE IT!!!!
They are nice Crit..
Bit of a chill, so hot bath then off to bed
I'll be dreaming of convertibles, James Bond kind of men ( after watching three of his movies this aft)
Neet-oooo. They look adorable..wish I had me a grandaughter..wouldn't trade my boys but a grandaughter would have sent me over the top.
Betty Trying really hard to make it to the gathering.
Wedding for SD#1 the weekend before.
We were going to go south to Williamsburgbut.......planted the seed in DH head.
We have to drive 4 hours to wedding and from there only 11 hours to Bettys.
So no promise yet.
Has anyone traveld on 219?
Oh Laura your DH would just love to see some of our Great Lakes and Georgian Bay.There are lots of fantastic camping areas along the way too if that is what you would want. I am assuming your kids or some of them would be with you.
Now this is nowhere near Betty's but if some of you are driving and taking a scenic tour along the Great Lakes Kettle Point at Ipperwash on Lake Huron used to be a fantastic site to see. Betty have you been there lately?
We somehow have to persuade Mary that she needs to journey north and join us. I am so hoping things will be such that I can spend more than a couple of days.
The guys should all bring their fishing poles if they like to fish as the whole area around Betty is excellent for fishing.
Keep planting the seeds Laura..plenty of room here for a camper and as Dianne mentioned loads of fish just waiting to be caught..the kids would love Wye Marsh and fort Ste.Marie..for kids it's spectacular, a travel back in time,,,
Okay you keep mentioning all these place I so want to visit again.....Kettle Point at Ipperwash!! Laura, you really, really need to talk hard about this trip. Kettle Point is something else! So hoping things are so I can make this trip..nice to meet those I don't know and see my family all at the same time.
I will let him think about it for a few days as he will be the one doing the driving.
He does have a brother in Michigan we can come back that way and visit.....
What about golf courses??? Any close to you Betty???
Yes there are Laura..
Marion, iperwash is more in your family's neck of the woods than mine. Did you ever find out when the wedding might be?
Oh wow yes, Ipperwash is down near Sarnia one of the border crossings. It is a fair drive to Betty's from there but worth the trip if you are going to make a vacation out of it.
Just so much to do in Georgian Bay..with limited time and wanting a good old pow wow chatting and hugs we'll have to plan well..
Those coming can research the area and we'll slot in as many as we can..
Just looking for something for DH to do while I visit my DG friends.
I would love to sit in your gardens all day and talk and hug everone.
There will be other hubbys there also Laura. Norm will be coming with me.
Dh just called and he is mapping the trip to Canada. Guess who is coming for a visit. :)
Betty how far from Barrie are you???There is a campground there.
Going to post office for applications for passports.
Jumping up and down.. Laura Barrie is about 35 minutes from me but there are many campgrounds in my region..I will give you the names..
BUT on the side of my property where the foxy lady sits all winter there is a place for you to park...
A campground closer to you will work just fine. We need water and dumping stations.
I am sooooo excited. I will tell the kids tonight....little man will get to meet Miss Betty.
I'm smilling big time..there is a campground just down from me on the bike trail..we have about 40 miles of bike trail..takes you right downtown Midland and to my door and other areas..
Closer to May I'll go over to the one I just mentioned above and see what they have to offer..
some others

Yeap, I knew Kettle Point was closer to where my family is living....we camped there a lots but I was also 50+ years younger..don't camp now. LOL Also made trips up to Georgian Bay area. That is where this Florida girl saw her very first snow--what fun but remember 50+ yrs. LOL
Betty, haven't heard any date yet for a wedding so it might be a "close family" thing. I sure hope not!!!
Thank you Betty I will let DH know.
