thanks Jen
No prob
I'm thinking of skipping them this year. Like to change things up. Last year I did no coleus at all.
Uh, oh...I went to Faraway lilies site.....bad Pixie!
and I didn't do the caladiums last year so I have to do them this year, I missed having them
anyone have wide shots of their caladium areas?
Love how you have that all jam packed....gorgeous
Lovely to look at, ge and Onewish. That Ghost is really intriguing.
Very inspiring! Now I think the pots that held shrubs last summer are going to get some caladiums at my house. I appreciate the link to ...4less!
He is really a great guy and to our advantage he cant count. All the bags of 10 I ordered had more than 10 bulbs in them. LOL
I think I'll try a few this year...have never had much luck with them.....
I think I'll get some too.
I love mine. They really put on a show from July until it freezes.
Klehm's catalog came in the mail. I wish i had a place for tree peonies.
yeah his clumps are not just a bulb most years.. usually 3 or 4 bulbs in one clump.. and last year they were just single bulbs and kind of small.. some of the ones I picked he doubled the order because he wasn't happy with them.. and sent a note saying sorry... can't get better then that
I agree, Iris....love those peonies!
Beautiful shots, Allison and Jo! I agree about Bill - he has the healthiest bulbs anywhere, and he is terrific with his customer service too...he always goes the extra mile. I'll bet you'd have better luck with the ones he sends, Marilyn. I'd be ordering some myself, but I haven't been able to make them become good snowbirds. They don't have time to dry out enough before we head south. I'm sure I'll try again at some point, mainly because I like Bill's beauties so much. I just can't bear to let them just die when we pull up stakes. :(
Won't they make it through the summer, Louise?

Just committed to an order from Avant Gardens in Dartmouth MA. They have a decent sale until mid February at the site above, and low shipping to MA. My highlights were Aronia arbutifolia 'Brilliantissima' (Silverbush); 'Arctic Sun' dogwood; Lindera Obtusiloba (Spicebush); Rhodi 'Jim Shaw' (a deep pink purple color) ; Rhodi 'Victoria's Consort' (a white pink mix); Chamaecyparis obtusa Nana Contorta and Nana Lutea; and 'Morning Candle' Acanthus (Bears breeches);
The rhodi's were Weston selections, I believe. Still saving room for azaleas similar to what Bill has. More witch hazels are coming in the next round. Eventually it will end with Forest Farm since it's the longest distance to ship, but they still have a fabulous selection for tubes of tiny plants.
Great selection Rosemary!!
Bad, bad Rosemary for posting link.....I will not look, I will not look.
Avant I everything I see!!
nice rosemary - avant is a good source
Like the sound of those rhodies......like Pixie, I must not go to the site!
No harm intended to any pocketbooks. Only beauty. At other catalog sites , I couldn't narrow down the choices and the prices grew a lot faster. Still hankering for a Franklinia alatamaha tree or a Sieboldii magnolia to mock the camellias that are intended, but got 'Golden Gift' Magnolia instead, hopefully a smallish tree that can be pruned small to center and shade the intended plantings by the air conditioner.
Jo, LOVE that garden!!!
You wont be sorry about Avant Gardens.I like their plants very reliable shippers too.
I caved.....went to Avant Gardens and bought:
Quercus robur 'Concordia'
Spirea japonica 'Golden Elf'
Begonia solananthera
goodie.
I ordered: Cupeah Cigar Plant for summer containers
Kiersengah ( sp ) "Yellow Wav Bell" a shade loveing late blooming spreader
Plectranthus
Yellow Waxbell is a perennial

Boy, you guys are pillars of strength! ^_^
I have not bought from Avant in over ten years but all my experience was good.
JoAnn my neighbor put a pot of rooted Plectranthus I gave her in her garage when the weather turned cold... and it's still alive.. no sun what so ever.. except what comes through the little windows.. I was shocked it was so warm in there and it didn't turn to mush yet.. well maybe this week will be the end of it
I like this variety ,it has blue green furry leaves. I will take cuttings for next year.
