They are such enablers, aren't they, Bill? Am not saying what I ordered today....but obviously, too much...lots of penstemons & I did decide on hydrangea Rio......
Spending spree #9
Bill - Hank is asking if you need our address at the farm to help with delivery of the new JMs......since you aren't sure where to put them.....LOL
OK. The Holland Bulbs fever got to me too. They had a $10 new order discount, so I got more nymph, several canna to plant in the holes I gouged into the privet bushes last year, mini-glads and some elephant ears for the bare spots near our driveway.
lalalalala can't hear you lalalalal can't hear you....I'm not looking!!!!!!!
very funny louise:)
I'm just gonna look. Only looking......
I'm NOT looking......
I still haven't looked, must be a record for me. DH sent me a photo today of Snowdrops in Bloom in our yard in Nantucket, plus he saw some bees working. Winter? I am still at the studio since 9 this morning, but about to call it a day. Made a mess of honey pots and a few other things. Good day, but should have been out in the garden. Too pretty. Patti
Haven't seen bees, but have seen some flies......drawback to having a horse for my neighbor....post photos of the honey pots, Patti....they sound interesting....

been tempted with those bes vines celeste - nice list there victor, only 10? :) just how many vib's does that make it?
Don't know. Have to count.
Pixie, I also ordered the Cosimo cosmos & cranberries...we'll have to compare them. Victor, I liked the magnolia...very full for a star magnolia, & hardy....
Wow great selections there
Way to go with those great lists! Sounds like a good birthday haul, Victor! You deserve it! The rest of you deserve it too....as an early birthday gift to self! I got my mini roses in, and still have the fox-tail fern to get in, but my carpal tunnel has turned into full- arm tendinitis, so that and my art homework will have to wait.
Nice lists!!!
So sorry to hear Louise. Please rest it.
Bummer - feel better, Louise!
Nice selection Victor
Robin, the cosmos caught my eye. :)
Louise im sorry to hear that, feel better soon.
These 12 degree mornings are killing me. ^_^
Actually, the phlox I had already ordered and forgotten about it. LOL
Salsa Red Sombrero Echinacea
Twister Garden Phlox
Peppermint Twist Novelty Garden Phlox
3 Autumn Britten Everbearing Raspberry
3 Polana Everbearing Raspberry
Eastern Redbud
I bought 6 more rasp. bushes because Joshua cleans out the 3 I have by himself!
Thinking of you, Louise. I just have tendinitis in my right shoulder, not the whole arm, although the bicep is letting me hear about it this morning.
That's from tending to your husbands too much, ladies!! Let them fend for themselves. ^_^
hope you feel better louise!
made a small order with Klehm's today - Cornus alt. Gold Bullion™ 'Bachone' (ordered this last year from another place and it died), Picea pungens 'Sester Dwarf' (a blue spruce that only grows to 5' and keeps a perfect xmass tree shape), and Picea orientalis 'Tom Thumb' (i also ordered this from Klehm's last year and did not make it should have been re-potted right away or planted out)
Really sorry to hear about your tendonitis, Louise....would some physical therapy help? Have been there with it in my elbow & the therapy did help.....Bill, hope your new plants do better......I had a lilac die on me.....and that's a first.
OK, this is my first time buying a Redbud....any tips or advice????
they do not like it wet - with your zone i would stay with the eastern rb - forest pansy and some others can have die back with cold dry winter winds
Thank you! Yes, it's an Eastern redbud. ^_^
Got some new catalogs today, trying to resist buying anything
Lots of Pansy redbuds planted in our town center....gift from one of the graduating classes....some died completely, some just have lots of dead branches....guess they need a lot of trimming......
Holland Bulb has extended their sale & free shipping thru the 13 th.
I broke down and got some cannas from Holland Bulb...have a list started for swallowtail seeds and select seeds. I need to check and see what I already have. I order and then find them in my seed pile!
Me too Ronnie!
Saw some glads I'd like from Brent & Becky's.....
Nothing new this year...
C'mon, Deb!
Got B&B today.
I am looking for a replacement for Lobelia "Ruby Slipper" You know me with colors...so it has to be dark red or maroon, or a redish purple late summer bloom...any ideas would be appreciated....Astilbe 'Vision in Red' is a possiblity
also looking for a fragrant shade flower, and something to plant at the base of the gutter in full sun...I planted some water iris but would like to fill in around them
Jen, I own Burgundy Iceberg rose, it blooms off and on all summer. Last year I had a few blooms on it in Sept. and one or two more popped out in Oct. and im z5 which is pushing it for that rose. In your zone I would imagine you'd get twice as many blooms and much longer and later than me.

Vision in red astilbe is pretty good (no pic) but how can anything beat what's in Celeste's pic above!
what happened to ruby slipper? mine left and then one came up close by from seed - is the normal cardinal flower which is deep red not a good replacement? that one is pretty hardy and i have a bunch of them - i could dig a few up in the spring if you want?
