I am grateful for 59 degF weather, cookbooks, and freinds.

About the 59degF weather forcasted today.... it needs to cool down to what's considered normal for this time of year. It's been too warm here. It's not good for the trees or hybernating animals.

(Zone 7a)

Same thing going on here, too. 50º in Jan.??? Unheard of...

Today, I'm thankful for sunny corners outside a kitty can lay in and for kid giggles over the phone.

This was to have been a hard winter - long and cold, but it's been anything BUT!
We have some snow in little bits, but mostly just brown grass!
Yesterday it was 15c = 59F.......!!

Midland City, AL

How odd! It is 61 degrees here and we are in the southernmost part of our state, just a hop, skip and a jump from the Florida line.
Today I am very thankful seacanepain didn't have a box big enough to ship my Fenny-dog to Timbuktu. :-) And, that we can start planting things inside for transplanting outside in spring. ~N~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

well, it's not the long hard winter that was predicted for us, for sure!

Midland City, AL

It was a surprise to me when I learned gardeners in this area welcome a little real cold. It means a smaller insect population in summer. Of course, 20 degrees F. is considered "real cold." :-)
Today I am thankful for a productive day. (Jim)

Thankful for the continued mild weather. Might portend bad things for next Summer, but I'll take what I can get right now. LOL

Thankful my littlest dog is beginning to trust being around my feet. Pretty sure she was kicked a lot before I got her. Now, I can at least shuffle by her backward when she is eating and she will stay put. And she lets me hold the door open while she goes by. The first few years, I had to leave it and stand way back out of the way or she wouldn't go in or out.

Thankful to have my friend Shelley. She has saved my sanity more times than I care to count--all the way from New Jersey, no less.

Debra - I'm thankful there are people like you who will take an abused animal and show it what true love & trust are.

Shawnee Mission, KS(Zone 6a)

Glad there are people who take animals in. Grateful for weather radios even the ones that buzz and beep on everything. Grateful for seed catalogs.

Today I'm thankful for the stories of Robert J. Sawyer. I've liked everything I've read by him so far. (Jim)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm thankful that I figured out how to download some e-books to my new e-reader, and I can bring it with me anywhere I go.
I'm also thankful that I can read, when so many cannot........ I've been given the choice to take schooling when some girls are not able to, in their country.

How anyone could have hurt her is beyond me. She is tiny and fragile and endearing. A favorite of the vet's staff and each one wants to take her home, including the vet, herself. She is wiry short hair, except for a three inch long ridge from the back of her head along her spine to her tail, which will stays upright for a bit if shaped. One of the techs ALWAYS has to give her a triceratops mohawk before we can leave.

thankful i remembered the library DVDs were due today and that I made myself get dressed and take them back. a buck a day fine for each would add up! :D

Dahlonega, GA

Durn , Debra , anyone would love that sweetie , and if I didn't have my limit , would kick and scream for the chance to be her mommy .

(Debra) Garland, TX

Thank you, Sally, she really is a sweet dog. After the TIA spell in December, I decided it was time to formalize arrangements in case I become too incapacitated to care for them. Willie will go to my sister and Zuzu will go to the vet. The vet will decide if Zuzu goes home with her or if she will let one of the techs take her. Glad I won't be around for THAT discussion! ROFL

I'm thankful I didn't have an accident on the way to work.........
We haven't had much snow this year, but it dumped "Big Time" this morning, and I did a "180" on the "off-ramp" from one major road to another. Suddenly I was facing the car behind me! I managed to back up and turn myself around, and the person behind/in front of me waited until I was facing the right way before coming too close!
I overshot my next turn off, and got a little past where I needed to turn, but got myself to work safely and with minutes to spare before I started work. I'd left extra early because of the snow and slippery conditions I'd heard about on the radio.

Thank you, Lord!

(Zone 7a)

Eeeeeek! So glad you're okay!

I slid off the road once where there was a big canal I could have gone into. I didn't and by the time I got pulled out of the snow, 6 more cars had joined me. No one was hurt or went into the canal.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm so glad no one was hurt!

When my boss had hit a patch of black ice a month ago it was "go into the ditch or hit an 18-wheeler". He went into the ditch! He got a few stitches, but otherwise was fine. It was the company truck, so that was ok too - needed replacing after being 4 years old, they said......

Dahlonega, GA

We need ALL of you , be extra careful !

Glad you are okay, Tallulah.
Today I’m thankful to have arrived home in time to save Fenny-dog from an Alfred Hitchcock waking nightmare. I don’t know what she did to antagonize the birds, but there was a huge flock of little brown birds chasing her around the garden. She dashed under my truck as soon as it stopped moving. I had a difficult time convincing her all the mean, little birds were gone and that it was safe to come out. She carefully scans the sky before venturing outside since the experience. LOL. (Jim)

Sorry wrong login, ah the joy of sharing computers.

Digger - no luck finding the WW booklet. Not in the spot I thought it'd be in. Sorry.

Thankful for a working car, sunny days in January, and PJs.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Every time I get stuck in rush hour traffic, I remember that I have the luxury TO get in traffic, via having a car when others do not....

I really do think simplifying the Amargia Project to one DG account would be a good idea. I used "Contact Us" to pose the question of how to change a User name. I was thinking of just going to "Amargia." There has been no response. Does anyone know a better avenue into DG to get answers?
Today I am thankful for a bright and sunny day after a wildly stormy night. k*
