I think you are right to question whether anyone's life is 'normal', Karen....I think we all just muddle through.....Memory, great photos of Sampson! The vet is cute, too!

Nice piece and photos of Sampson, Memory! I enjoyed reading it, and it sounds as if you have found the right vet! Sure hope to hear good news about Sampson's treatment soon! You're such a good Mom! Hugs!

Well hello Sampson! He's a beauty. Getting special treatment for sure. One lucky cat.

What a nice story about Sampson, glad things are going well so far. :)

Brought Patches and Jerry to a conservation area near me called Duxbury Bogs, which includes working cranberry bogs. Very pretty place, about 191 acres. The dogs had a blast, and we met lots of other folks waking their dogs out there as well.

A meeting with an English Bulldog. This one was much bigger than most. His owner said he was the original version of the breed. Now they are bred much shorter and stockier.

I forget what the bully's name was. The owner, after telling us his name, said it doesn't really matter, as he's deaf.

Look at those crooked legs on Jerry!

I am proud of Connecticut for being the first State in the US to pass a law requiring the cross reporting of child abuse and animal abuse. Research indicates that there is a strong connection between animal abuse, child abuse and domestic violence. Animal control officers and Department of Children and Family Employees must report to the state Dept of Agriculture commissioner when an animal is suspected of being harmed, neglected or treated with cruelty.

Glad we got something right, Memory! Karen, what a nice day for you & the pups!

Thanks, Victor....out of the hundreds of dog breeds in the world, that video had an airedale.....yes, I have tears in my eyes, & a German shorthaired pointer like Suey....However, the only dog I ever owned that liked to ride with her head out the window was my Irish wolfhound, & I'm sure she must have startled many folks.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I let my MIL do that.

This was on my Facebook page:

Did you know: US President Lincoln loved cats and had several in the White House? When he fed his “Tabby” seated next to him at a White House dinner, Mrs. Lincoln asked, “Don’t you think it’s shameful for Mr. Lincoln to feed Tabby with a gold fork?” Lincoln responded, “If the gold fork was good enough for former President James Buchanan, I think it is good enough for Tabby.”

Cool - another reason to like old Abe!

Thanks Louise and Allison.

Sad about the horses. I confess that I had to sell a horse at auction once. I hated it, and was worried she would be slaughtered, but I learned the person who bought her was not going to slaughter her. I was in a lot of financial difficulty at the time. I have not had a horse since. They are a lot of money to care for.

I couldn't enjoy the video of the dogs in the cars, as my internet is too darn slow. I get that all the time with videos. I supposedly have high speed internet, but it's a joke. I'm seriously thinking of switching to Verizon FIOS. Anyone get services with them? Wonder if they're any better.

Karen

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Everyone I know who has FIOS loves them. Waiting for it to be available here so I can get it

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Michele didn't like fios.. and my neighbor Barb switched back to cable after she had nothing but trouble with the tv

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Siris/Cyrus which ever way you want to spell it. Brian has chosen to spell it the "C" version after all. He finally made up his mind @ the vets office when you have to name him on paper. Anyways, he had his first office visit, he was such a good boy and he had all the women in the office swooning. ^_^
He is 4 months old and weighs 35.6lbs, they figure him to be about 130lbs. when full grown.

Randy loves him!!!

So, some positives and negatives with FIOS. I will have to keep asking around. Mostly I want to switch cause it will be cheaper for 2 years and hopefully the internet will be much better. It's the Comcast internet I have the most trouble with. Mostly slow speeds so I can't really view videos. I used to be able to, but not for awhile now, and I've called Comcast many times for problems with the internet.

Celeste, Cyrus is going to be a huge boy! He looks so adorable.

He's just so handsome! I love his ears....

South Hamilton, MA

We have FIOS & usually no difficulties. When we did early on verizon was hard to get hold of the correct person. They seem to have different tech numbers. But once that was settled, no problems.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

130 pounds! All I can think of is how much poop a 130 pound dog will make! Good thing you have a really big yard!

Sampson went to the vet today and he has gained 1.5 pounds since his radio iodine treatment. That is a very good thing!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Yay! hope he improves

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yay for Sampson!!!
