Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Pixie I love Siris! Very cute dog!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Celeste I ♥♥♥ Siris by the way. So handsome and his name is great! Best of luck with him I'm sure he will have a wonderful home!

Sad to say we had to rehome our rescue Diesel ): he started to become very overprotective of me and our yard, he was going after a few people and wound up biting a friend of ours that was at the door. It was just too much for me to handle he weighed close to 165 and he was still growing. I tried just about all I could short of calling in Caesar! LOL He went back to the rescue and they found him a wonderful home with lots of acres to run and a male owner that would be able to give him what he needs. I miss him still but I know now with all that is going on in my life it was the best decision. I know some day I will have one more puppy when we are ready.

Siris makes me want to be ready!!

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

Siris is a cute pup.

luvsgrtdanes I'm sorry about Diesel. Some Dogs just don't fit in some situations.

Thomaston, CT

Oh, Ronnie, that's too bad about Diesel, but you did the right thing....he'll be happier with all those acres....

Smart boy!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

And still Gorgeous with his intelligent face! Good job on the training, Celeste!

South Hamilton, MA

How big is he? It's difficult to tell from the picture.

Thomaston, CT

Such a good boy! Our pastor told a little story today....there was a cartoon dog, eating from his dish...the dog said my owner feeds me, loves me, takes care of me....she must be a god. The next cartoon is a cat sitting in front of his dish...he says my owner feeds me, loves me, takes care of me....I must be a god.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Lol I like that!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Heard something about horse slaughter being allowed again in the US after years of not.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know back some years now we used to go to a horse auction in south jersey.. the alpo guy always bought horses there.. we always felt like beating him up and stealing the poor sickly things.. guess there is a way around it anyway

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They had been selling them anyway to companies that process it overseas. We just haven't done it here in awhile but they mentioned about doing it for food here....unless they run out of cows, pigs, buffalo, sheep, lambs, deer, chicken, fish, turkey, quail, pheasant, geese or ducks I won't be eating horse anytime soon

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wilbur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

The Bronx Zoo feeds a lot of horse meat. The way I see it is that it is a kindness to the horses that they won't have to be trucked for days with no food and water to go to Canada or Mexico to be slaughtered.

Thomaston, CT

Have been in Paris & seen the golden horse heads outside of markets.......

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Hey, guys, sorry I have not been here much. Most of you know my sister's story. Won't go into it here, but if anyone hasn't heard, I will post a link to my prayer request for her.

Celeste, Siris is the most gorgeous puppy! What a cutie! He's going to look just splendid when he grows up. I love him.

OMG, that puppy love video with Herbie and Jabby from the previous thread was just too stinking cute!

Oh, dammit, Memory, you made me cry with that story about Duke and his perfect day. Sob! I thought about Patches. She's getting old. Will turn 11 in Feb. I love her so much. And Marilyn, your story about your wolfie's last days was so touching. That was so sweet, also, that Robin's kennel sent you a card.

Memory, sorry about Sampson. I hope he will be okay. Poor gerbil.

Sherrie, sorry to hear about Xena as well. (((((hugs))))))

Rosemary, that video of the Jack Russel playing fetch with himself is the cutest thing! What a smart dog. Don't know if my dogs could ever figure out something like that. Don't ever get a Basset or Basset mix if you want something smart. All they want to do is wander around sniffing things, however Jerry does like to play and fetch a ball, unlike Patches. We really think he's half Lab.

Marilyn, did you ever get your camera memory card figured out? There is a little lever on the side of the card. It's probably gray in color. It slides up and down. If it's in the up position it's unlocked, in the down position it's locked. Faraday is very pretty.

Doug, your Bear is a beautiful boy.

Ronnie, I'm so sorry to hear about Diesel. I know you really liked him. He was a gorgeous boy, too. I'm sure he'll be happy in his new home.

Karen

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Karen - good to hear from you. Sampson is doing well, the bloodwork at 90 days will tell the tale. Take care of yourself, please.

Thomaston, CT

Missed you, Karen! Give those beautiful pups of yours an extra hug!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Great to hear from you, Karen! How are you and your Dad doing with all the stress of your sister's current condition? Thinking of you all.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Missed you guys, too. Louise, my Dad is doing fine. One thing about his dementia is that it keeps him from even knowing what's going on. Not that we haven't told him, but he just doesn't remember. All he knows is that Wanda fell off a horse. The rest he just forgets. Me, on the other hand, I'm so stressed over that, and work and caring for Dad. I just want my life to be normal. What is normal, though? Maybe no one's life is. Oh, well, I just do the best I can and try and find happiness where I can find it. I try not to dwell on the negative too much.

Celeste, I was just wondering how you came to get Siris.

Karen
