Thanks Celeste!
Christmas decorations 2011
Oohhh, oohhh, good idea. May have to do that with the kiddies!!!
Mother of 5, Grandmother of 6 and im still learning new tricks. Love the candy cane and roses for a grown up look. Think I may try that here. ^_^
Found silver and greenish chargers at Christmas Tree Store, along with a silver snowflake 3 candle holder and then placed the ribbon candy around it...looks great
love the blue snow man & santa laying down
Ditto for the birdhouse/church....
Hopefully, we'll get to ride by and see yours in person, Allison.
Cute Jen! I like the snowman on the wagon.
I hope we can get them all out Teri... they did not remove the tree yet.. and we are not going nuts until it's gone
Good luck with them removing the tree, Allison.
thanks.. we were told it was on hold due to the budget being gone
You probably need to have a "tree chopping up" party. You know me....everything gets turned into a party.
if it wasn't so large.. and right on the power lines .. we would
Oh, yeah, power lines make it a little tricky!
Holy cow! Are the power lines live?
Not all the time lately!
Switching to LED lights for the tree this year. Wow - are they bright!
yes they are live.. the electrician came to look at the box.. hopefully we will see him by monday working.. and he said he can change our breaker box to the bigger size.. without upping the power .. we will get 4 more breakers
smart choice Victor.. you won't be sorry.. what I think LED for indoors is better for.. they don't put out any heat if you have a real tree.. less of a fire hazard
Yes - you could probably put these on a dead tree and not set it on fire, not that I recommend that.
The garland lights that we use over our front porch are finally beyond repair. LED lights will probably be our replacement choice. I have one weeping cherry tree that needs more or those huge plastic Christmas balls, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Any suggestions?
We don't over do it on the Christmas decorations because we spend a few days with our kids in Bergen County, NJ during this holiday. One of them has a house large enough to fit all of us fairly comfortably. Although the lights are on a timer, I don't feel good about leaving them on when we are gone for 4 days. Not too fussy about the artificial tree that we have. We just slide it out of an attic door nearby up on the balcony fully decorated) then push it back in and wrap it til next year.
Have no idea where to purchase those large ornaments....saw them used in Kport, ME a few years ago, & loved them. I bought my wreath & tree yesterday...the tree is the same soft, 2 color needle one that I usually get....very little shedding....
Does any one here get a real tree and use their woodstove nearby? I am trying to figure out when to get our tree. I feel like we always do it too early and the tree looks dead by Christmas :( My kids want one now though. I always think about getting an artificial one but when I look at them the only ones I could deal with are way out of my price budget. In my mind 2 weeks before should be okay. I always want to buy one and leave it outside but my husband is weird when I suggest that and has to put it up as soon as we buy it. I'm not sure what that's all about because I practically have to twist his arm to go get it in the first place.
Yes, and yes. LOL
We always have a real tree and i have a fireplace in the same room. I do use the fireplace but find I tend to use it less during that time. We put our tree up on Dec. 15th usually.
Real tree is in a different room, if you have it in the same room MUST use a humidifier and keep it well watered
Saw those big ornaments today at very unique garden center near me
My tree will go up in another week....today I trimmed off the lower branches, & sawed a large bump off the side of the trunk so it'll fit in the tree holder....then I put the tree in a bucket of water.....
ours was in the same room.. needed way more water then the one in the dinning room away from the stove.. let me look though my files Teri.. I bought big balls lots of places.. some from HD.. but there are some cheap places online I have bought from in the past
none there now Teri but I have bought a bunch from them in the past

I would never pay full price on this site.. always wait until after clearance prices
http://www.christmasdepot.com/Christmas+Decorations/Shatterproof+Ornaments+And+Decorations/
and you can always look around on amazon... they have them as well.. just watch the prices

Geez, Allison, I bought them after Christmas 2 years ago at Ace Hardware for $2.00 each. I guess mine are not as pretty, but we're so far from the road that one couldn't appreciate the difference when passing.
I will agree.. I always buy them after christmas.. way way cheaper then.. I only paid a few bucks for the ones at christmas depot.. I don't even see a clearance tab on the site now.. they used to always have cheapo stuff on there.. guess things changed
Unless it's REALLY necessary I wait till after to buy the clearance also.
I bought my big ones in Target but I don't remember seeing them this year
Every year our township has a winter wonderland set up, son and I went tonight, daughter was out of sorts, good thing didn't bring her, she came down with a 101° fever
that's so nice!!!.. our town does a winter wonderland too.. but I think yours is nicer.. that living tree is great!!
Yeah, the living tree must not only look amazing but sound great too.
Living tree is really very unique! I'll give my DH another day wresting with the garland lights and then we'll be off to buy new ones.
if they are the swag type lights.. Randy hates them.. I like them as long as they are neat and not all messed up.. he doesn't want to deal with them .. over time they just don't swag the way they are supposed to
These were thick and draped very well. They just won't all light up (very old) and need to span the 40 foot overhang on the front porch.
