Yay, Memory! Remember those wonderful tasting weeds you brought to our RU? Wonder how some purslane stuffing would be? :)
Coffee Break #68 - Turkey Time!
On the pepper spray subject. There is a store on Main Street in Bethlehem PA that is called "The Pepper Spray Store." They sell huge cannisters of the stuff! I couldn't believe my eyes. The same town has a sizable Occupy Bethlehem settlement.
Sad about the man who passed away....perhaps if helped sooner he could've made it, but maybe not.
Now THIS is entertainment!

It is?
Sure! If we had more guys like that, we'd have fewer guys like that. ^_^
For sure....
Nice entertainment for a bridal shower. Arent the Indians under the same recycle laws as everyone else?
No, they eat theirs.

I like those. I bought the kids books today, so that's my contribution!
We did Tervis Tumblers for all the kids and grandkids last year. They love them, and so do we...no sweating, and can be used for hot or cold, plus drinks STAY the same temp for a long time. They are made very close to us, and so we make an annual visit every year. They are also guaranteed for life.
Only in America.

thanks Louise.. you just confirmed that I need to buy those!
Any candy I'm going to(and have bought) for the brunch will be made in the US...passed up the candy canes made in china@the $1 store
I bought 2 facecords of firewood from a local forester.
I am also giving money to Grands.
I have noticed more ads from small merchants plus they got together and bought some TV time. I hope this works but in the light of the best ever Black Friday with billions spent,I dont see it made much impact.
I am actually making most of my Christmas presents from recycled sweaters - so that counts as made in America - right?
O M G what are you doing to them. That is such a great idea. Are they going to be sweaters again but in smaller sizes?
Mittins? Patchwork scarve?
Tell! Tell ! tell!
yes please do.. you crafty people amaze me!!!

I'm unraveling the wool sweaters and rewinding the yarn into balls and felting them. They go in the dryer with wet clothes to make them dry faster. Unlike the plastic balls for "fabric softening" sold on TV - these don't beat the heck out of the clothes.
It is truly amazing how many sweaters have no wool in them. Wool is one of the few fibers that is actually renewable and doesn't take tons of chemicals to grow. The cats are enjoying my projects.
pretty neat Memory!!!.. just looked well sweep is doing crafts this weekend as well

Dog shoots hunter http://www.wcnc.com/mobile-content/local-news/Dog-steps-on-gun-shoots-Utah-hunter-in-buttocks-134835168.html I think the answer to the question whether the safety was on is NO.
made me giggle when I saw it on the news
Yes, me too. Like that email with the deer driving the pickup with the shot man on the hood!
There have been shots ringing out here for days. The kids had off from school Monday in honor of one of the first days of fire arm deer hunting. Before this the bow and arrows were a very quiet alternative.
Memory, I love the felted wool projects, but I'm terrible at making them....I have a cute bunny, but my birds look weird! Great story about the dog.....also love that commercial, Victor. Talked to a CT wildlife control officer in the town's diner yesterday, & told him what I had seen in my road....without hesitation, he said just what my BIL said....wild pig...then he said they're nasty & becoming a problem here....wow, first one I've seen, & hope it's the last!
Wow - just read the Japan earthquake in March moved the seafloor a half football field!
Weird - recently I keep seeing many references to bacon. Also zombies. What gives? Any connection between the two? Hope not. At least not with turkey bacon.
Tomorrow is the day most parents dread - their first-born becomes a teenager!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH, Happy Birthday to the teen!!!! DD is going thru the same thing, Hunter will be 13 Jan. 1st and Nichole is fretting already. It doesn't help that there has been a boy calling nightly for over a month now. ^_^
frightening seeing the grown up changes
Thanks! Wow - they are close in birthdays. Kids start so early now. Was absolutely shocked at how some girls were dressed at the National Honor Society ceremony a couple of weeks back. Lots of makeup, tight, short skirts and heels. They looked like hookers. The mother of one of them dresses like she is a teen so it's no wonder.
some of the clothes are too over the top for young girls.. told you how I felt at my nieces sweet 16.. wanted to grab a table cloth and over her up.. but all of them were dressed like that.. wouldn't be my kid
