Cheering for you, Harper! Good advice for life, Memory. And thanks, JoAnn for the compliment.....makes feel better about my work.....
Coffee Break #68 - Turkey Time!
JoAnn, currently, I'm sewing alot. That's the latest creative outlet.
Victor, I'm hangin'! Life is good, actually. Just looking to enjoy every moment as best as I can. How's your wife?
Harper - i have faith in Sam, and I think you HAVE instilled values in him that will pay off in the end. I also feel confident that his smart, talented Mom will be just fine as well.
I hear ya, JoAnn...it does require a lot of practicing! I don't expect to be a "JoAnn"-- caliber artist, but I do like stretching my dormant self.
Marilyn - I missed your illustrated book. Any chance you can post some of it for those of us who haven't seen it yet?
Donniebrook!! Cheers from me to you for trying. Its really satisfying to be able to do something creative.
Here's a funny one, JoAnn...one of our homework assignments is to draw the profile of someone. Well, that leaves me with 3 choices- 2 Bichons or one husband, who says he doesn't want to have to sit rigidly while watching the Packers. He also has a habit of putting his hand or fist on his cheek, blocking his profile. My girls are even less cooperative. LOL

big ole hugs Harper
Louise.Draw DH with hand included. That seems to be the way anyone will recognise him best. I like that excerseze.
Wow, Marilyn! You are VERY talented with illustrating as well as writing for kids. That's not easy! I'm so impressed! Just thinking of how many artistic DG friends here! JoAnn, Harper, Marilyn, Patti, Debilu...who else am I forgetting? That has to say something about gardeners!
Thanks, Louise....Hayden loved the book, it was her 4th birthday present....but I can't think of anything for Anni or Grant :>(....I think in general gardeners are creative folks....dirt is their palette! Jo's gardens are very color coordinated......
Good point! I think you have a new career in children's books!
I second that motion!!! All in favor....
I
Definitely an "I" from me! Wonderful Marilyn!
I think the desire to plant with anticipation of whats to come and to change an area where you have made a garden,is a creative act.
It doesnt matter if its 3 square feet by your back steps of 3000 in your property. The same urge propells us to make something where nothing was before.
I - from me too!!!
Also in favor!!
Very well said, JoAnn. The urge that propels us. I like that.
Thanks everyone....the story has a sappy ending, but it was really the story of Hayden refusing to turn 3....she said she had too much to do while she was still small......her creativity was born right into her......
Talk about Darwin Awards! I just hope the victim doesn't get sued.

They don't have martial arts stickers on their cars. ☺
Very well-put, JoAnn! I'm glad we are all in favor of Marilyn's new career! LOL
Marilyn - that is a really cute granddaughter you have!
Thank you.....I love them to pieces...for short periods of time!
Marilyn I love your book! Post more pics please!
Hugs back, Allison.
Louise, you always have the right thing to say! Thanks!
So, get this! My jade plant bloomed!! I am still in shock. I knew they bloomed when they live outdoors, and the woman in Nantucket (her name escapes me) got hers to bloom, but in a greenhouse. Wheeee! I'm so happy!
Harper
Doing a happy dance!!!!
Awesome!
Robin that book is wonderful!!!!
Hi Harper!! Pretty Jasmine.
Very nice Marilyn, i'm sure it will be treasured.
Did not even know jade plants bloomed - congrats harper!
Impressed with your jade blooms, Harper. I will feel the same way if my new jasmine plants ever get to bloom.
Marilyn, that book is AMAZING!
My thoughts exactly! What a great treasure she will have!
I hadnt seen the turkcap lily painting. I dont think you have anything to apologise for with regards to your painting skills. That is so special.
Faces are hard on anything. People an animals. Facial expressions are the whole character of the person. I recently did a comission of a black lab for a man. I didnt realize the nose on the dog was a bit crooked until he was writting the check.
I always get the eyes 2 different sizes.
Your grands will treasure your book.
