Coffee Break #68 - Turkey Time!

Thomaston, CT

I'm dead in the water....fed over 100 folks at our church bazaar luncheon today....I made bacon corn chowder, beef veggie soup, BBQ beef sandwiches, plus tuna & ham salad.....other members brought chicken & egg salad, & everything was sold out! Now I'm taking a break from cleaning my house...it was either that or collapse.....

Results of college bargain hunting today: Middlebury College and George Washington University both offer big sibling discounts. I don't know a way to search for this except by going to each college site, unless there is a very specialized guide to scholarships.

Wow Robin!
Just finished making wedding invites, I designed the layout and David designed and printed the actual invite, them we assembled them. Turned out fantastic.

Victor, your dear wife must find it very hard to make those tough phone calls, but I'm sure she has a special way of handling them. And we all know that your boys have had so much success because you are there for them doing the toughest job there is, and doing it very well!

Wow, Marilyn! What a huge contribution you made to provide all of those dishes! The menu sounds great! Hope you are resting in bed as I write this!

Debi, speaking of special contributions! That is so awesome that you can use your talents to share in the wedding preparations by designing the invitations! How special for David and Lindsay! Having enjoyed your hand-made cards so much, I can just imagine how nice the invites are!

Thomaston, CT

I'll bet they're beautiful invitations! When is the big day, Debi? Yes, Louise, I was in bed by 9:30....read for an hour though.....

The girls dresses are "peacock blue"
we are using their initials on address labels to cover hershey nugget chocolates, they look really good too

David works at a graphics company so was able to order extra large paper, and cut to any size. He also printed and cut the inserts at work, his boss said they'd do it for cost, then did it for free. :-)

I have a 10 flashplayer & your smilebox won't run. I tried to install the 11 but that won't work either. Happy Thanksgiving, anyway. We bought our duckling this afternoon.

Hi guys thought I would stop back in and say hello♥ I've missed you all, but life just got in the way, funny how fast the months can go by. I have been reading most of the post and try to keep up but haven't been up to chatting too much. To many sites and threads to keep up with.

We've been trying to get our kitchen from heck project done and we are almost there! Should be ready for Christmas Eve dinner...
Some personal problems to work on and my sis has been diagnosed with OVC and have been trying to help her out, not a good situation, lots of issues ):

Well anywho just wanted to say hello and hope to be back ASAP!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Miss you Ronnie! Best to you and your family.

Happy news here....my brother decided not to drive to Rochester & will be here for Thanksgiving! Prayer answered!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

The weather isn't supposed to be bad here, but it is by you? Happy for you to have your brother there.

The cherry trees were blooming at Wegmans earlier this week.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Hi, Ronnie!!! Praying for all.

Good news, RD.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very strange....we were at dinner tonight and I received a cell phone call (missed it cause the music was loud)from my home phone, no message.....

Underground park very cool idea...along the lines of the underground mall in Atlanta

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And in Montreal.

Thomaston, CT

Wow, Debi....cherry trees blooming! Our weather will be fine, but my brother is having more trouble with his Parkinson's & should not be driving at all! My cousin will drive all of them to my house....it scares me when Joe drives to see our mother, & that's only 20 min. from where he lives.....

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Who said "old age isnt for sissies"? I think it was Betty Davis.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

And is this who you often rode with? I'm glad he's staying home and safe too.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ugh... ever since the snow storm our power in the house has been freaky.. lights flickering.. 1/2 the clocks going out now and then.. JCP&L has been here twice now to try and fix it.. bad news is we need to change the "pan" where the power lines attach to the house.. the nice guy today ran new lines from the pole .. went to open the meter when the lines attach.. put his screw driver on the bolt and the power came back on... so he was nice enough to leave it unlocked for us in case it poops out again.. he showed Randy how to get it back on if it does... time to call the electrician.. not going to be a cheap one either.. he said around $500.00

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

What a bummer! Now the trick is to even get an electrician! Good luck.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That is a bummer.
