Good morning!! Good morning!!! Yes, it's a double good day today. No reason.. just trying to be more upbeat after this coffee and I know Sue's rum cake will catapult me into that happy happy world!!
Beats frowning, right?

This is a Chinese Pistachio tree that is growing in my BFF's yard in Lafayette, Louisiana. She sent me this pic via FB. 15 years ago, I had bought 2 trees and gave her one.
15 years ago, I had seen a mature 30 yr. old tree gracing a reknown nursery with brilliant red leaves in the fall.
It was truly a beautiful sight. That nursery told me that to order a 30 gallon one would fetch around $120.
Well, I found a couple of young saplings, around 5ft. at Lowe's. They were'nt priced and the manager let me have them for $15 each!!

That is a beautiful tree Jaye!

Thanks for the new room!

You're welcome LK. Any new project planned for Todd? Hehehe.. Kel's one when he could have some free time, he'd rather lock himself in the bedroom and play his reggae cds!

Hi Ladies,

Not much happening here. Just busy making candles. LOL boy are we having a "FUN" time with Amy Rose. This little gal is STUBBORN!!!! But so darn cute. She is learning things. She knows that "bed, bed" means she done something wrong. I was chewing her out the other day and she barked back at me. Boy did she get in trouble for that!!! I take both dogs walking, LOL. Until I get to the spot where I let Harlee loose we get all tangled up in leashes, lol. Amy tries to keep up with Harlee and ends up getting all tangled up. Once I get to spot where I can let Harlee go we are fine. Harlee will come back if I call her Amy won't, so I keep her on retrackable leash and she chases after Harlee. She poops out real quick, lol.

Well must get to working on Christmas swap

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you have your hands full with the puppies? Bet your house smells good with all those candle scents!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Just made some Eucalyptus Spearmint, LK It is such a refreshing smell need to get more oil

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That's all I buy from bath and body works. Love that scent.

oh gosh i did a comment on a guys blog and boy am i paying the price ... i bow my head in shame. :(
i did apologize and i blamed it on my hormones ... do you think he will beleive me ??? LOL
i do feel bad for my judgement it was unfair and a bit nasty.... curse these darn hormones !!

It's Remembrance Day in Canada, and here's a poem we say to honour the fallen in wars:

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Morning. HOT steamy chocolate this morning. And what goes well with hot chocolate? Cream filled donuts! Yeah! Zero calories, cream filled donuts!

Cindy, I got a few cans already cleaned and will send them out to you next week. It's funny how animals all have their own identity, like us humans.
I'm rooting for Miss Amy. She'll give you more laughs.

Now what did you say on his blog to make you regret, Sue. Enquiring minds want to know. Give us that link, let us judge!!
Men aren't like women, they don't bear grudges long.

Thanks Susan. It was Veterans' Day too here yesterday.
Seems the war continues in the Buffkins' house!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the hot chocolate Jaye. Were in San Antonio for the day, doing a bit of holiday shopping, and going to car shows! We will be back tomorrow.

hey gang
no i m not giving the link sorry. it was a guy who is gaining weight to see what its like to loose it all again. He is a fitness trainer. (Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Passing through. Have had a busy couple of days mostly filled with activities with my GDs and son. Today Kim and I had a great day doing some shopping, cars getting serviced and Cuban food for lunch.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hiya Marion!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Must be an annual pilgrimage for you and Todd, that car show with a side shopping trip. I'm sure you're not complaining LK :D

Hi Marion.. Susan!

Sue, is that guy a tv personality? Think I know who he is. If it's the same guy, putting on weight and losing it all is part of tv gimmick to draw ratings.
Does he think our weight gain is intentional?

Nothing much to say about my day. Talked to my cats.. ate leftovers.. did laundry... watched the games... and now I'm ready for bed.

Good night sistahs.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good Sunday everyone.
Hope you sistahs and Crissy can rest today, even you Sue. :D
Seems that all our favorite teams won last night.
I'm happy with Marion's team win over Miami!

Check this link out. http://www.cesarsway.com/newsandevents/dognews/Blind-Love-Lily-and-Maddison

yeah i think its the same guy. honestly i still feel the same but i had to apologize to get the hate mail to stop LOL
i opened up a can of worms LOL
Yummy Cuban food. oh yum in my tums.
not so much going on here
just laundry and i m reorganizing my kitchen cabinets. tried a new pie crust ...
Dh is still trying to get his last two paychecks in china. may not happen . so the barn may have to wait :(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love that article Jaye, pretty cool how one dog adopts the other to take care of them!

Sue, is your hubby back home now? Sure hope he gets his last two pay checks?

no he is not home yet LK.
its a waiting game at present time. He will offer them to work through the month or he will just leave . It is a shame. When one is a self employeed person we don't qualify for unemployment . even though we still pay for them taxes and the system. go figure ? yes the two paychecks will help out and give us a few more months of savings.
i love Ceasar M. not only is he nice eye candy but i just love what he does with dogs and the owners. He teaches people very well.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I know what you mean about being self-employed, Sue. My ex and my DH werer both self-employed. My ex is still a truck driver, but my DH is out of that, and now will only take a full-time job working for a company. In the meantime, he's doing odd jobs for people. It certainly helps, but it's not going to last forever - his EI ends at the beginning of March (in time for his birthday!)

I'm glad your DH still has 2 paycheques coming.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The IRS needs to be revamped to help the MAJORITY of Americans. I feel your pain Sue. Timmy will see his due paychecks, let's hope the honor system is still upheld.
Tell Austin he could train his rabbit to jump hurdles. It was shown on Amazing Race where rabbits are used for hurdle race... so cute!!! They are trained on leashes and led to run and jump along a 20 ft. course. Who knows, Austin might be the first to own a rabbit race course in America!!

Sue, you've been quiet about your work environment. Are the staff much more helpful than the previous one?

LK, any new muscle car that caught Todd's eyes this year? Hope he treated you to a quilting store.

I truly need to empty my house!!! Lolol.. ever had one of those moments when you look around and ask yourself why in the heck you get 'stuffs'??
But then, so many of these stuffs have sentimental value.
Being that I don't have any kids to 'tidy' my affairs when I'm gone, think I'll start a major house sweeping!!

Well, good night sistahs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I went to Hobby Lobby, that is just as good as a quiltmstore, I got fabric and craft items! He saw lots of nice hot rods, but he came home with a new laptop computer for his Birthday!

We will be looking forward to your online yard sale Jaye! LOL!!!

Morning everyone, coffee is ready!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning everyone. Trying to get things ready to leave Friday to go see my Mom. Kim is trying to leave work earlier as it is only a half day for the students--sure hope she gets to as we won't have so much driving I-75 after dark. It is really bad now with all the "snowbirds" coming south. Our plans are to return on Wednesday and prepare Thanksgiving dinner for everyone--well us and son and family.

Have a good day all--Jaye, how are you feeling?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh gosh - Thanksgiving is coming up for you!

Hope everyone has a terrific one!

Yes Jaye - how are you feeling?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, Thanksgiving is coming up really quick! Guess I need to get things bought!

Marion, drive safely pleas, and give your Mom bigs hugs from all of us!

Good morning sistahs.
Sorry Sue, I meant that question for Susan and her new work environment. :( I'm prone to call all Susans Sue. Must think twice before I use the proper pronoun!!
Sue, do you sit in at your DD's therapy session? Do the therapist gets you involve sometimes?

LK, there might be an online garage sale if folks are buying! I have tons of Christian and cook books that I could start selling (read, I didn't mention quilting), need to check on their listing prices. Used to be if the item doesn't sell, there is no charge.

Marion, you'll be celebrating Thanksgiving first with your mum and sister?
I know you'd rather your mum be celebrating it at home, but moving her would be an unwise task.

How am I feeling? Oh Marion and Susan, I bet you wish you hadn't ask that!! Lol!!
Here goes... lately I've been making burnt foods, overdried roasts and the worst roux I've ever made.
Just yesterday, I cried over my brug cuttings. 3/4s have rotted, even though I've been faithful in changing the water daily. I can't even cut the bottoms off, as the stems became squishy.
All I want to do lately is just veg in front of the tv, watch football. Then when I have enough of that, I'll go to the sewing machine.

Marion, does your sister talks to her cats as though they're humans? I do. Everyone of them. It's sad that I've become a recluse here, surrounded by kitties!!

I know I have sistahs here, but y'all live in my pc :(

If these are signs of worser things to come, I hope not. I know the Lord is preparing a way for me to get out of this hell hole, I call 'home'.
Or He could do it faster and remove certain people from the perimeter of this hole! Lolol!

Sometimes I tell Him that I don't want to be strong. Let me be weak, so He can change the circumstances. But you can't bargain with Him, He works alone and knows what's best for His child.

Oops.. I have stew cooking on the stove, better check on it before it becomes fricassee!!

Have a wonderful day sistahs.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am so sorry things have appeared to have gotten worse Jaye. I do worry about you and don't ever hesitate to use our shoulders--mine are broad!! It is just so sad that a parent would put their thoughts, happiness and wishes before those of a child--be they small or adult.. Whatever happened to the becoming a grown married adult has Kel's mother missed? Or have I missed something--humm, maybe I should start thinking about what I want instead----NOT!!!!!! Sorry I will shut up.

Yes, we will celebrate as much as we can with Mom before coming home--sad to say in the past 8 -10 years just about all holidays have been just another day to her and my sister. I hope I never get like that. You are right there is no way we can bring her home, even for the day. To costly and to hard on her body. The really horrible cough she had last year has returned so not sure just how much we will be preparing to take to Mom.

Catie-Beth has planned our menu for here and I might have posted it already. In case I didn't, she says we will be having eggs (I can cook them now all by myself), bacon, waffles, turkey and pumpkin pie. Sounds good to me and oh so simple.

I hear the dryer yelling my name so off I go.....................................

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear all your going through Jaye. If I were you, I would tell Kel, I have a Dr.'s appointment on this day, and you are taking me or else! You need the Dr.'s appointment for your health.
Marion, sounds like Catie-Beth is growing up very quickly, and doing the cooking now! Sounds like a nice dinner!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh she is growing up quickly and keeps us all on our toes....especially Kim!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Better be careful, she will asking for the car keys soon!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

To late! She informed us the other day she could sit in her booster seat and drive--of course, Dad doesn't agree.

Sistah's i know i should not ask but can you all pray for me ?
My oldest dd and i had a smack down in the walmart ! uhhhg. the humiliation of it all. MOMS GOne WILD LOL :P
she has been hiding a boyfriend . i knew she was. it was only a matter of time. WHen she came here we asked that no boyfriends can live with you.
so i confronted them both, he told me he would hide her and i would never find her again... i replied "don't worry i won't be looking " i ask you what kind of man would make a threat like that to a mother ???? my gosh... he has her sooooo entangled in his evil plan i can't even to begin.
he ended up asking me to leave the apt. ....
i told her good luck.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, I'm so sorry you had an ugly scene in Wally world!! So sorry. But I think our Lord sometimes have to burst that 'boil' for the festering wound to heal.
In this case, it's your sanity. You've been so involved in making sure your DD is on the right track, and you can only do so much with a grown daughter.
Sister, there are Austin, Savannah and Tim for you to focus on.
Maybe this guy could be the one to bring your DD's to her senses and forced her to turn 180*.

Marion, you are what most mothers are. Just like our Sue here. Always putting their grown children's happiness ahead.
It's in the bible where God said, when a man marries, his wife is his family now. But apparently, MIL have selected memory.
I'm so sorry that cough has returned. Could it be seasonal? Even though she's not exposed to the natural elements, sometimes our internal body clock can succumb to physical weather conditions.
Just sayin..
CB is my kinda girl. Take charge!!! Yes, a simple Thanksgiving dinner will be made much more brilliant with waffles and bacon!! Don't forget the maple syrup!!
I'll be paying close attention to Florida news. If I read of a little girl caught driving in a booster chair, I'll call you up Marion!!! It happened before with a 6 year old boy.

LK, I've rescheduled the appt. for the 16th. He's working that evening, but he will bring me to the doc. Kinda embarrassed him when my church sister told him that she'd take a day off just to make sure I see a doctor. I reminded Kel of his vows..

Again Sue, chin up girl. Let's open another bottle of Cabernet!! Turning Leaf 1996. Good vintage!

gulp gulp mmmmm

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

P.S.
I'm sure you all are aware that our group has shrunk.. ... but it's a quality small group.. and I appreciate and love everyone here.
