I have cut in sequence as well..this piece is so textured that I know I'd not be able to do it without breaking it..my first thought when Rita/Jerry gave it to me as a Christmas gift was to have it framed and hung in the window but alas, minute you hand it you don't see the designs so would indeed have to go on wall or set on fireplace..guess maybe I should do that rather than having it behind my dresser drawer waiting to be broken.
Love the saw, and yes, have an adaptor re guide. Also a friend made me a lamp stand unit manufactures to hold the lamp shades while soldering..infact he made me 2 or 3 at same time. While in Florida I came across a company that manufactured clips to hold pieces together..have used them but then got off on another craft.
So much money invested that I have to get back to it even if it's for a few projects..made Paul a dimentional scene with pines a few Christmas's ago, should make him the matching one..he says it's too nice to hang, needs proper place so there it sits behind his dresser as well...
Did so some 3d butterflies and butterflies using spoons, they were fun..
Too bad we have to sleep, think of the things we could accomplish..
Hmm never heard of FIG
I go to Gord at Huronia Glass, that's where I purchased the glass kiln at Christmas..

Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends!
Betty - family is alike eh? Wonder how many others of your family have well-decorated "back of the dressers" lol
Fantasy In Glass - Mike owned it.He also had a huge store in Toronto. We just know Mike from OOAK.
I checked the web Dianne, think it's only in Toronto now..we do have a wonderful little studio only miles from where I live, good stock and anything else you need they order in..
I was thankful that Gail's husband helps out, needed new diamond bit blade for my stained glass saw as well as new rubber belts and guides, he installed and didn't charge me a dime..
the Georgian Bay scene I did is one of her originals
Voted for Sharon and put the link on my favorites. I can vote once a day - right????
I didn't even think of that, must go check
Your family are now back home safely Barb? Bet you miss them already!
Sitting here adding clear starflakes and beads to santa panel, red rhynstones to holly leaves..even the boss was shaking his head..told him I'd appreciate hurrying as I need the boardroom table for my crafts..lol
Hi y'all!
Trying to get caught up since the DH is back at work ...
It's been raining but I managed to get a small walk in, but we *just did get back in time.
Oh LK ... A lighthouse??? Oh that's my fav!! I bet that is gorgeous! My house is decorated with lighthouses. The ocean is my all time favorite place.
Betty, you amaze me with all the things you think up to do. I've never heard of a fourth of them. LOL Sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving ...
Susan, so how was your day with company and anniversary all wrapped into 1? I'm sure it all was just wonderful ...
Mary, how are all your little plants coming along?
Barbara, are you empty nesting? LOL
Dianne, how is Warren today? What about you and the gang? That dessert sure sounds good.
Haven't done it yet, but I'll go vote ...
Okay, here's today's funny ...
If you've ever worked for a boss who reacts before getting the facts
and thinking things through, you will love this!
Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO.
The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers.
On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning against a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business. He asked the guy, "How much money do you make a week?"
A little surprised, the young man looked at him and said, "I make $400 a week. Why?"
The CEO said, "Wait right here." He walked back to his office, came
back in two minutes, and handed the guy $1,600 in cash and said,
"Here's four weeks' pay. Now GET OUT and don't come back."
Feeling pretty good about himself, the CEO looked around the room and said, "Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here?"
From across the room a voice said,
"Pizza delivery guy from Domino's."
Betty - got sumpin in the mail from you! They're Beautiful - thank you! Funny thing is (and I didn't notice it, Bob did!) there's no postage cancellation stamp! So, when did you mail the jewellry?
Hmmm some time ago, mailed all the others, found that packet and thought, yikes, better mail then put it in my bag, forgot, found it again and there you go!!!
LOL Pizza Delivery guy got one Heck of a Tip, eh? lol
Well, I have it now, and they're beautiful! I know just the 3 tops I can wear 'em with!
Clock watching, another 15 minutes..
T.V. bingo tonight, wouldn't it be nice to win!
Tomorrow have to make a side trip to Midland in the morning, so likely in at 9:30am..shorter day which I like
Thanks for the funny story, 101.
Sorry, I can't keep up with all this but I want to add something. My last post a few weeks ago was to thank someone for their generosity. I was touched. It was a difficult time because I had just lost my older sister to brain cancer.
The emotions and dust have settled, my surviving sister & I are dealing with her estate now. Lori the deceased lived in NH, Rachel the sister is in VT and I'm in MA. Everything is moving along smoothly so far but we have to deal with the house and all Lori's stuff. Rach & I are each 90 minutes away from the house, not easy. Today I scrounged a ride for my dog Sarah & me to NH so I could pick up Lori's almost new car, I'm buying it from the estate.
There are some good people out there. Neighbors keep watch, helping with anything needed. Lori was well liked in this over 55 community, one neighbor came by with pics, another has a possible buyer for the house, one warned me that dogs were not allowed, lol. Everyone waves hello and wants to pass along anecdotes. Makes me wonder if a senior community could be for me, too.
Andy P
Andy, it's so good to see you drop in. I'm sorry you've been through so much lately but glad you've found good people to support you. Hang in there and know you have people praying ... ☺
Speaking of good people, I have a dear friend who is taking me home the last of the month to the memorial service that Hospice is doing for all those who passed away in 2011. My Daddy will be remembered since he passed away in April. I *really needed to be there ... She's a dear friend ... If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have had the quality time with him before he passed away. It was back when my DH had his detached retina and couldn't drive.
Betty, hope you win! LOL
Andy, I am so sorry about the loss of your sister..what a tribute to her life are her friends! I'm sure you are enjoying the stories..settling the estate can be overwhelming..keeping you in my prayers. Please don't be a stranger, drop in when you can....
Suse, I think we've all been blessed with an earthly angel when we've most needed it..they are out there, sometimes all it takes is for us to open our hearts and let them in!
Didn't win, but did have a nice visit with Ann.
Darren next door dropped in, said they won mandatory visitation today in Court..they will have the little one tomorrow until Saturday night. They go to trial in two weeks..seems the maternal grandmother who has mental issues threatened them as they came out of court so Darren asked if I can keep an eye out , imagine, she threatened to burn them while they sleep..this is probably exaggerated but in this day and age with so many loonies out there how can you not be a little concerned. I'll telephone Cathy and ask her to keep an eye out as well over the next while..left my front outdoor lights on and will open my bedroom window so that if Sailor hears someone she'll bark!
tired tonight, can't wait for the night shift..but, you know how I've not been sleeping of late so might be back for the midnight shift.
I've lost several messages. Still trying to get the hang of this computer.
I've worn myself out helping Tony trim the monster tree and we're only about half done. I woke up at 4:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Got some of the kitchen/living room/bedroom clean-up done. Now that it's cooling off this big room becomes my home.
Sent another basket of clothes/fabric home with Tony.
I'm like Betty using my left arm to lift the right one. Got to where I couldn't close the clippers on a small branch. All the outdoor work also went to my legs and added to my lack of sleep I was not happy. Rested for a couple of hours which helped some.
We have lots of mosquitoes, resistant to both Raid and Cutters.
I'm feeling grouchy but the dogs and cats are fed.
This is also a family anniversy and not a happy one.
All in all I'm glad to be alive and sober. I'm sure I'll feel much better tomorrow.
Glad you're all here.
hugs, katie
AAWWW Andy I am so sorry about the loss of your sister, so glad you got so many people looking out for you, even if they don't approve of Sarah. lol
I voted!!
Nice pics Betty! Thanks for sharing them!!
Katie don't wear yourself out girl!
Betty that's not too far fetched at all. I had a boyfriend a long long time ago and he was manic depressant with no medication. When I broke up with him he told me that he was going to burn my house down with me in it, so I stayed with someone else and a couple days later I went home to get some things after work and feed the cats and the 6 screens on my sun room were slashed down the middle, so the chances of her doing that are very far fetched, but the chances that she said it are very good. Is there a law where they can get her for terroristic threats?
I voted!!
Suse that is hilarious!!
Andy, so sorry to hear of your loss, and hope you get the house and estate settled soon.
Katie, have you ever been to a chiropractor? They can find and adjust anything that is out of alignment.
Suse, sounds they will have a nice memorial service for all those that have passed this year. Sorry to hear you lost your Dad.
Thanks y'all ... it was 6 months the 6th. It still doesn't feel real to me. This will be my first trip home ...
Katie, like I mentioned before, I suffered like that, also. Have you ever had a Cortisone shot? I was told I had Bursitis in my shoulder and had inflammation of the rotator cuff. I had PT for 3 months, and it really helped. I suffered with it for a year before I did anything, though so please try to get some help.
Oh Betty ... that sounds horrible! You're right to keep an eye out. This day and age, you can never tell. We had a fellow go nuts because he had to wait longer than he thought he ought to at the Dr's office and ran into several cars, and then into the Dr building ... Thank goodness no one was hurt ...
My sis sent me that Email. LOL
Okay, everyone has probably gone to bed while I typed this ... :-(
Morning everyone, cool this morning, had opened my window so that Sailor might hear sounds but lordy, brrrr hated to get up!
Suse we must have cross posted, love the pizza delivery story!
Odd that Mary did not post last night, usually regardles how she's feeling she drops in with a hi..sending her arwraps as Judy would say...
Katie you've being manually working yourself and we forget we are not as young as we once are. Anniversaries, happy and not are difficult to get through. Bring back so many emotions, may today be filled with sunshine for you. What would the temperature be in the winter?
Crissy, this ex-boyfriend, how long did it take him to find another source of interest. Guess when it involves kids one can never be too careful!
Suse, is it a far drive for you to the memorial?
Ann last night said they got much accomplished Thanksgiving weekend, all were trying their best..sat at the dinner table for turkey din/din, all 3 looked at each other on broke down and cried...losing a father is indeed traumatic! Lost mine 6 years ago..
Coffee time, waving to all..
I'm so sorry for your loss Andy. I live in NH and if there is anything I can do to help you, please just let me know.
Sound like everyone has had a busy weekend between our Canadian friends with their Thanksgiving and we Americans with our Columbus day. Sounds like it was a good one for all.
My Colorado family is now home safe and sound. I miss them so much and so look forward to these visits. We had an awesome weekend together. As the Mom/Grammy I wanted to spend all my time with them but on Sunday afternoon, all the kids and grands went to the ocean. It was 85* here then and the girls from Colo had never even waded in the ocean. They had a wonderful time and explored the tide pools and then walked over the bridge between NH and ME and had a seafood dinner there. We met up with them for coffee and dessert that night and said our goodbyes as they had a flight early Monday morning. Brandon also marched in a parade on Sun. It was "Old Home Days" in a town near here and our band was asked to march. He is so handsome in his uniform.....
Got to get busy here as I have to finish twenty placemats soon. They are for Meals on Wheels and I need to get them done.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day........
Morning everyone! Betty, sure hope that lady does not follow through with her threats! Did anyone in the court hear it, or report it to the authorities?
Barb, love that picture! Brandon does look so nice in uniform! Please show us some of your placemats?
Where is Judy?
Betty, I have no idea, he moved in with my best friend and his wife, which I told them to NOT do but my friends wife, who was in college going to be a Psychiatrist and said it was me with the problem, not my boyfriend, and not 2 months later he tore up their house and was caught flashing little girls walking home from elementary school, so they had him arrested and I don't know anything after that. My mom was a cop so he didn't want to mess with me, I would have hung him.
Barb sounds like a great time!! Glad you got to see them and I'm glad that they got to play in the ocean! How cool!
Well I don't remember what I've read, my mind is on getting the rest of this work done today, so I guess I'm going to get off of this for now. Have a great day everyone!!
Good morning everyone, I had a pretty good sleep. Still sore but that was to be expected after the last few days.
It's 65 degrees F here as I am waking up (7:30). Our winters can be chilly but that is for the subtropics. If it goes down to 32 and we have a little ice it is cause for discussion.
Had a female cardinal in the kitchen for a few hours yesterday. With two door open for the weather and the dogs we also get the occasional bird - often hummingbirds. The large and noisy flock of birds that were in my schotia tree seem to have relocated to the mesquite tree in the front of my house. The chirp a lot and I find them quite cheerful though I can barely tell one from another.
Tony brought some news the other day: the local army people arrested a 15-yr-old boy with a large quantity of cocaine. AND he is the son of a local policeman. Ooops.
No PT or chiropractor here. I will ask my doctor for a cortison shot next time I'm in Ca but I don't know when that will be. Meanwhile, it is gradually getting better and I'm getting used to a certain level of discomfort. A DG friend in Hawaii is bed-ridden because her back went out and I am grateful that my pain is managable without the need to stay in bed. I've had to do that and it's part of why it takes time for me to get used to manual labor again. I don't like being sore but I love being able to work.
Tony is here and we are going to shred a big bunch of dry leaves in the chipper. Give me a bag of mulch or manure and I'm a happy camper.
My neighbors Dana and Tom are due back today for their winter here. The papaya tree I gave them had a couple of fruit on it that may still get ripe. I have several ripe ones on one of my trees so I can share.
Time to get dressed and get some work done. I like that nothing to be done is so urgent that we need to rush. And I have enough money that we don't need to stress about any small extra expense. Life is good.
hugs, katie
Good morning, Have been reading and am caught up.
No changes here.
Have a good day,
Debbie
How are you feeling today Deb. Is the feeling coming back in your legs? How is your walking doing? I think of you so often and send a prayer each time.
Can just imagine how much you miss them Barb..let's hope it's not another 3 years before you get together! A day at the beach, how wonderful, 85 is a tad to hot to be sitting out especially if it is humid..the weatherman was talking about the big storm that hit the coast last year..trying to remember if they said it was a rain storm or snow storm??? have to go research the info.
That Brandon is quite the young man..to be admired for sure. twenty placemats???wow you do take on a bundle..got another placemat pattern, interesting..once I get done what is on those craft tables I think I might try and do a few.
LindaKay, didn't get to speak with him for any length of time, he's such a soft spoken man and with Ann there don't think he wanted to get into it..this morning as I thought back he asked if Cathy was still at the house from time to time during the day, told me to tell her to be cautious so now I'm wondering if he had concerns re the documents I and she provided supporting their case??? The mother of the child would know it was I....I'll just be watchful
I was up extra early this morning and got 2 panels completely random quilted..total of 5 now done...soooo if I'm a good girl I'll work on a few more tonight..a must to have all 12 done by Saturday morning.
Got an invite for MIL's 85th birthday supper at a steakhouse on Saturday..seeing as it takes all her time to acknowledge I'm in a room with her it was tempting to say no..if it wasn't for Suzanne organizing I'd have likely said thanks but no thanks..had an excuse, I'm at the quilting shop for the afternoon..shook my head and said, 'this is for you Roger' got to do what you got to do sometimes.
Just got in
Cross posted..
Debbie, nice to see you post even though you say there isn't any changes! The furries musn't be leaving your side, they would have been so lost without you. How are you filling your days? Know you enjoy reading you e-reader, that makes the day go by.
Glad that today is a good day for you Katie! Regardless how our day is going you just got to know someone would be so appreciative to have it..hmm maybe I'll ask for a cortison shot..moved everything to the left of my desk so I can use my left hand/arm vs. the right one..not the kind of pain that set's you crying, but aggravating none the less.
Sorry to hear about your friend..if she needs loving care or maid service tell her to put me on her list as I'd love to visit Hawaii!
You'll be pleased to have Dana and Tom back..you'll need a day just to catch up.
Sisters, asked if you could vote again today for Inuk
http://www.fidocastingcall.ca/dogs/795
thanks..
Crissy, guess your friend did learn it wasn't you but that he had mega problems..sometime it takes learning the hard way!
LOL Betty! There's a long story, I was with him from 1995 to 1997 and I used to dodge flying full Pepsi cans and other miscellaneous objects, I was very very controlled, mentally abused, he would punch holes in the walls whenever he got angry, threaten me that if I ever left him he would throw me off of the La Grange bridge (a bridge in a town in the foothills about 45 minutes from where I lived) I always told him he would have to get me there first. Because he was an idiot and I was young and naive and we needed a roommate so we put an ad on the college billboard and she was our best candidate, so we moved her in. Of course when she lived with us my boyfriend wouldn't ever act up. We hooked her up with my best friend who I had known for years, which has turned out to be the best thing that could have ever happened because he was a complete mess from a recent divorce, but since she didn't see it she didn't believe me when I said it was happening. When my grandfather passed I inherited the house so my best friend and her rented a duplex and me and my boyfriend moved into my house. Of course all of the abuse started all over again and since I was in my house that I now owned I found my self esteem and threw him out. She felt sorry for this dude because he told her and my best friend that I was abusive to him. I had known my best friend for 7 years and he knew better but he's a follower and whatever everyone else says is what he does. She believed my boyfriend and not me, told me to my face that I was a liar, so when they moved him in I quit talking to either one of them. When that happened she changed her major to a counseling major, guess she decided that she wasn't any good at Psychiatry which I could have told her that. My best friend, who had become a Sheriff, came back over and never did apologize but we made a mends, she never showed her face to me again even though I heard rumors that she felt horrible, and she should have and hopefully she still does. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it's not happening.
Hard way Crissy to end ties with long standing friends..thing is, wouldn't have taken much for them to say 'sorry'! Am sure you were terribly hurt by not only the loss of the boyfriend but friends as well..when Roger died, because of choices I had to make while he was dying, I paid heavily..lost almost all ties with his side of the family..only really talk to 4 of the remainding 10..when you think THEY are my family and then all is lost, you sure do start doubting yourself.
I'm sure their taking him in helped him move forward because he'd not want them to know you were right and he was wrong..thank God you got out of that relationship! Even the strongest of women fall pray to abusive relationships.
Funny isn't it, how we make ties, strong ties and puff, for no reason these friends move on..hoping that there isn't a soul who can say I left them by the wayside but that might be asking too much..sometimes I go back on threads in the beginning and I cherished so many of those posting then gradually off they went to other threads, always wonder if their needs were better met and I miss them...
Goodness where did all that come from lol
guess just the talk of friendships lost..

Barb, there is no change in feeling...or lack off. The bottoms of my feet actually feel worse, and I have no balance to stand for any length of time. Set my goal to "head for the bathroom" and then back. Tried standing at the kitchen counter to get a snack....no go. Have the wobbles so bad and my body just doesn't know what to do without the balance.
Betty, I think I have slept most of the last three days away. There was no sleep at all in the hospital. My "neighbor" there, Rodney, was from the ARC and many issues. God Bless him, not his fault....but no sleep at all to any near his room.
I can't get interested in a book, MIL sent a box full of them...but when I read or even watch a movie....find myself drifting off to sleep again.
Yes, my furries are helping all they can. Especially that little kitty the kids snuck in when I was in the hospital......she doesn't leave my side. Guess God knew best again when he sent her to our door.....she has been good therapy for me.
Betty - I just "caught" the reference to your neighbour being scared about the ex setting the place on fire!! My goodness!! Have things settled down?
Poor Ann - every "1st" is going to be difficult. I remember my mom, after my dad passed away, was out walking about 8 months afterwards and met someone who didn't know. They asked "how's George?"..... she had a difficult time telling them. Another 1st....... This can happen years later, but it's still a "1st".
btw - I'm at Jackie's office (after which I go to a church meeting at noon), so will be checking in much later today.
((((((((((Debbie))))))))))) take care of yourself, hon - that little furry is God-sent, for sure!
Poor dear Susan, know exactly how that felt! because Roger died NewYears day, many people who were south were not contacted so come summer a lot would drop in by boat for their 'drop in hi' and I'd have to tell them the entire story..goes without saying, NOT easy..
I'll take a walk over to Darren's tonight and have a talk, as I said with Ann being at the house he didn't say too much! think they have the grandaughter for the next 3 days as appointed by court
Busy day at the office, putting mom's afghan together, drinking Timmies and watching NCIS..
Susan, don't overdo today
Debbie we cross posted,
I would think recouping will be a long process, so don't get discouraged! Your body must be needing sleep and of course it's mentally exhausting worrying ..so glad you have the furries around you.

Betty - it wasn't me, it was my mom who was out walking and had to "deal" with it. I felt badly for her of course, but really - What can you say when someone's had to deal with something like this when it's totally unexpected. From that point onwards she didn't know when it would be easy to walk through the neighbourhood in case this happened again..... my poor mom!
knew it was your mom, just saying poor Susan because whenever we go down memory lane we remember the hurts..
Brought in some cheese/crackers/meats and have been nibbling, soon time for lunch, not hungry!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
I will have to go back and read posts.
Trip was nice alot of walking.
Oh ran into a window and cracked my head open not to fun.
But the weather was great and good food.
BBL Laura
omg Laura, stitches needed?
Did you take any photo's of the park?
No stitches just alot of blood and the kids got upset.
Took pics but need to find the camera again.
Love NCIS by the way.
