Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends!
Thanks for the new room Betty.
Thought while I was going to play lazy I'd do something constructive, so here we are..new room!
Body is telling me 'enough' so will listen to it..after scrubbing the swamp off me got into jammies..I know, it's just after 2:00 pm but tired is tired and I've accomplished much..can finish the rest next weekend. Most important was putting everything away and the pumps out of the ponds..those things are one!
Feels nice feet up, might even have a piece of pie, lots of variety.
Will go back and read the last few posts on previous thread and respond in a bit..looking at e-mails to see if Jeff is home, know he posts on facebook but I don't visit the site ..in fact kids posted on my behalf from Suzanne's on Saturday so must wait for text or email then I can rest knowing he is home safely...they were just saying on the news how many accidents with lost lives on our highways so being a worry wart I'll feel better after we chat!
Omg that is gorgeous.. Bev will be fun having you join in.. Will go back through last thread and get dates..don't think Dianne has any steadfast rules..no different than making something, out shopping for something that you would normally do for family member..think we are all pretty in tune with friends on this thread to know what treasure she might enjoy.
What kind of weather in your neighborhood?
Filling pond back up, best I go check how much water is in it..
Be back shortly!
Bev there hasn't been any rules posted yet.
Well I never! LOL! I was trying to type that in real fast before anyone had a chance to respond! Oh well, I'm just way too slow LOL!!
Lol Crissy, great minds think alike!
Just put a few more details up on top post so keep an eye out!
Melanie DIL just dropped in, you all took your time eating the pies so other than 1 pumpkin and a blueberry pie she took them home as her mom/dad are coming for supper..then I kept a bit of turkey, sent the rest for Greg's sandwiches , put the carcass cooking, love homemade soup..can freeze some for a night I don't want to cook, that is pretty sure to be any night!
That's 'cause there are no rules Crissy!
Anything any of you want included as a guideline? Remember I said I was wide open to suggestions. Guess my main thing is that a gift is exchanged with respect and caring - does not have to be handmade if are you are not clinded that way. Do we need a $$$ limit? Having been in swaps before where there was a $$$ limit I have found no one sticks to it 'cause you just know when you have the perfect gift.Plus none of us are going to be silly and play oneeupmanship. So unless otherwise asked there will be no $$$ limit high or low plus the gift can be either handmade or purchased.
Please remember I have asked that the dealine for rules if needed and entry be extended by 24 hours.Just not going to happen in this house with the way DH is doing today.
Many thanks
Dianne
We're open to any and all extensions Dianne, this swap is done with love of heart and we are grateful that you've thought of it and have taken it on..none of us are in a hurry, think I speak for all, happens when it happens before or after Christmas...anticipation is half the fun!!! You just take your time and in the meantime we'll think of all of us with a what if she was my swap buddy?? As we think from one to the other we can jot down ideas so when we get our name we'll have that right pressie in mind!
((HUGS)) Dianne.... I hope your and Warren's tomorrow is a LOT better...
no rules - sounds wonderful to me :)
Except remember Warren has to wear a Santa hat when he draws our names.... ROFLOL.....
We got a lot more trimming done, the chipper started and a barrel of mulch chopped. I'm worn out but happy with our progress. Neighbors Dana and Tom are due back Wednesday.
Almost bedtime.
hugs, katie
Dinner's done, piano concert by one of the guests (Nami), and now everyone's gone - only dishes to be done now.......
cya in a couple of days when they're done!!!
Omg Susan, why do we sways insist on these major gatherings to do dishes ourselves?? Do you have a piano? Sounds as though everyone enjoyed themselves including you!k
Katie, would love to see photo's.
Mary, how did your weekend go?
Debbie, hope you are tucked in and sleeping like a baby!
We could have had Tea Betty.Plus I made for the first time yesterday but it wasn't ready for dinneer a Sweet Potato Custard Brulee. They smell divine!!!! ANy takeers, first time for me doing the recipe so we shall see.
Full Harvest Moon last night. WOW, what a sight! ANd the coyotes loved it tooo - lots of melodic coyote serenades last night must to the dogs chagrin.

Dianne
Morning everyone! Dianne, that sounds good!
I think Betty went back to sleep?
Susan, glad you had a good day yesterday!
Good Morning!
Dianne that does sound good, I think you have some takers here!
Morning, no sleeping in, had to get as many panels and embellishments together so I'd have something to work on here at the office, got to tell you, whenever I had a plan to play I get busy..lol
I've never heard of that custart Dianne, sounds yummy, I'll have two slices if you please!
This morning I took the long way to work, was just sooo pretty out, didn't forget my camera either so here goes...
Beautiful sunrise Betty! Bet that made it worth the long drive to work? Love those panels! Do you use stencils to make them? Sure would make it easier for those of us that can't paint!
too funny - keeping you updated with your Blackberry..... good looking crew of fellas you have there, Betty!
I love that Santa "in from the cold" mat!
Well, I'm at Jackie's office, and tired out from yesterday, so enjoying my coffee...
chat atcha tonight when I download pics from yesterday. Didn't take a lot, and forgot to get one of the full table, but I got some :-)
Which panel would that be LindaKay?
Susan you should be at home with your feet up!
Sharon asked if I'd post this link in hopes some of you might vote for her doggie..
http://www.fidocastingcall.ca/dogs/795
I voted, on this computer, and I can vote tonight on MY computer - lovely having 2 IP addresses to use, eh? lol
Betty - if I were at home I would be cleaning up and doing dishes - I'll let Bob do that while I work on the computer lol
Good thinking Susan, thanks for voting..just reminded me, can do it from my ipad as well...tks
Sorry Betty, I meant to say floormats!
Betty I love the glass but I can see where it would be very problemsome to work into a lamp. A piece that outstanding I personally would like to see hung like a painting, no cuts in it at all. But that's me. DH and I are big believers in sequence cutting and I am not sure there would be enough glass there to do that. When you cut in sequence and put the pieces (foiled and soldered) back together it can take your breath away it is so gorgeous. We do that in all of work (oooops I should say did now we are retired) - it makes the feathering in a bird look very relalistic. We did several lighthouse focused pieces - 1 a whole bay window - and used a storm cloud glass (all purples, blues, a little pink, blacks all swirling around together as the sky background. In order to carry off the effect it had to be sequenced cut. Do you have a guide for your saw? We don't own one, never had and that might be why both of our hands are so crippled so have no idea what to suggest about the glass saw..lol Is FIG still in Barrie?
