(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the new room Betty!
I sent you an email.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, just mailed the pattern via e-mail, let me know if you got it and if it came in ok....

Pacifica, CA

but of course i'm in lol me miss a swap???

OK I'll wait for instructions on scarf, oh yes i have lots of scraps, jewelery etc lol
kenny's behaving himself for the time being even i find that hard to believe!
busy filing up the third dumpster for the last 11 months of purging think this will be the final one i cant believe all the junk that was broken i was going to fix geeez.

Victoria Harbour, ON

don't you throw away wool, ribbon, stretchy fabric or jewelry...now why would I know you'd like the scarf and the swap...I'll ask Cathy to drop in with hers and take photo's of her wearing all 3 and closeups of materials used

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just spoke to Greg, wondered why he didn't drop in over the weekend...now on a ship on Great Lakes doing measurements for major work..he'll be home Friday, stainless steel materials have to be ordered, fabrication of some pretty large items done and he'll have his men in Halifax, NovaScotia working a good part of the winter!
I'm sure his company is proud of him...

Glenview, IL

Running through on a break!

Hello everyone...Looks like you all had a great weekend!
Betty, those scarves look great, will be exciting to see what you come up with.

Waiving hiya Liz!! Yep good to see you post, haha, just knew Betty's scarves would draw you in.

Barb, jeesh, sorry i didn't jump in yesterday to remind you to fast, But, I see lots of your friends did...So i hope the reminders helped your CRS, lol.
Are you back yet? When will you know of the results?
Awe always love chattering with you...hmmmph, hands on the hips, my DH stole all the time up, ROFLOL, so much for having him say hello, 20mins later!!!
Just joshing, he enjoyed the visit too.

Awe, Betty, The picture looks so cute of Ariana decorating your Spook tree! Bet she had lots of fun spending the day with you.
So funny, I was just thinking the other day when you were going to start Halloween costumes!! Too cute, Was more thinking requests were going to be from the younger ones...A tux, hmmm, so who is he going as?? I had to laugh at myself too, When i saw all those fabrics, I thought it was Thunders, collection! Was so shaking my head at my craft area, Then realized, it was a fabric store!! Scrolling around the up and downs the thread...We did see Thunder's sewing room and all I can say is WOW&EEEE!

Thunder, OMG, what splendid organization!! ROFLOL, I think you all should over and help organize my Craft area!!! I've seen pictures of Betty's highly organized Craft room and I've seen Barbs 2 very neat sewing rooms. My table has been cleared to nice semi neat piles in every space available, Projects in the midst...Speaking of, What a great way to use wall space! So neat to such such a great variety of snowmen, and how cool, recognized mine in there!!

Crissy, glad to see you went to sit with your friend at the bar, lol even though you like football too, heheh.

lol, i'll be back!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, you wouldn't say my craft room was clean right now..5' scarecrow on one table...Victorian heads on another and sewing on the 3rd. double table, then all the strips from the 12 month christmas blanket on chairs..not very pretty..to make matters worse, the girls come painting tomorrow so have to have it somewhat cleaned tonight

I'm laughing here Judy, trying to stay away from the costume topic with grandchildren just incase..yikes, if I pretend no costumes are needed this year what will I say when I'm asked the week before to make something special for them?

Speaking of craft rooms and sewing, just got in from Michaels..I purchased beads for the holly leaves on my piece, then eyes for the deer on one panel, then plastic christmas bulbs for another panel and when she rang it up it said
$44.86..wow seemed wrong but NOT! Should have put them back..noticed on some of the tags..11.98 Canadian or 9.98 USA and they've black magic markered in the USA price because I guess if it's visable and I came with USA funds they'd have to sell it to me for that price..got to say it's a rip off for sure.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty - I am in!!!!! For the Christmas swap!!!! I need ot go to Michaels too - maybe the end of the week...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Put your name in Barb..more the merrier.

Dianne when were you thinking of our having our names in and the deadline for mailing out our Christmas box?
If you'll let me know I'll put it at the top of the thread for you...

Lyndonville, NY

Popping in for a quick hello and wave.....

Missing you all so much, hard reading threads on my cell phone....but trying to keep up.

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers....you are all amazing.

Not much change, slow and steady!!!

Hugs,
Debbie

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I don't do much for any holiday but may start this yr. What are the rules for this swap please. I guess I missed them. BEV

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hello there Bev, just a small token of affection I believe... Dianne will soon set up some guidelines for us and then you will have a better idea of what we are up to..certainly not mandatory. How have you been feeling? Guess weather in. Our area has seen temperature drops..do you have everything done to winterized..would imagine the boys would come to get you set up before snow falls..

Oh Debbie, how nice to see you post....can't imagine reading or typing on your cel..eyes must be tired..what did they have you doing today? Hope they are treating you well..

Trying to stay up for night shift, not an easy thing to do on a Monday night.

Drats and more drats, Sailor knows I want to bathe her, skunk deodorant is not what I want to be smelling..she won't come near the washroom even though I've got a cookie waiting for her, can't entice her! Other than putting a collar around her neck and dragging her I'm not sure what to do. Don't want to be rough because the old gals hip bones aren't the best and I don't want to cause her damage.

Okay, can't wait to find out what the guidelines are for the swap ... I think I know what I'm doing, but I'm not sure ... It will depend ... ☺
Good luck Betty ... Hope you get R done. LOL

Glenview, IL

Hi...OMG, can't believe it but here i are for the night crew!!

LOL...

Betty, oh goodness poor Sailor, getting skunked, ickk, hope that cookie entices her. Must be that time of year! this is probably the third pup I've heard about getting it.

Awe, Debbie, so good to see you post. Thinking about you every day...Glad to hear your toes are tingling! Come on feet, get some feeling.

Well, it's just me& my Budster! we had some Chilli Mac for dinner, lol he's hoppin around trying to get socks on his feet, goofy kid o mine.
Everyone off to work or on way home from meetings work or the boyfriends house.
So, whew I had a crazy busy day, feeling a tad pooped, but sooo glad i actually accomplished a few things...
My yard was screaming to get weeded, spent several hours doing just that and only made a small dent, but I reluctantly put things away, pouting because it means season is just about over...

Saturday, Breenie woke me fairly early and we went on our adventure to the Botanic Gardens! So much walking, but wow was it a spectacular day.
We enjoyed it tremendously...It was a field trip for her for photography class. I enjoyed our time and took lots of photos. Kind of neat that, she took some of the same type of shots i did, But mostly i was there to help her, you know carry the tripod, and the bag of the lenses...ack and to feed us, quite expensive!!

Be back in a few...

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !
Welcome Night Shift :o)
Judy - pretty pics...that harvest is incredible...never seen anything like it ! how is Football going ?
SO GLAD LK got "The Plant".....Come on LK... did you not laugh? As if I mailed Belle to you... LOL.....Certainly it was all wilted up and such...? you said "watered"... I placed 2 icecubes on the pot before I taped it....
OCD plant mailing.... it's a sickness LOL
Betty - colors are amazing... nothing like that here. Poor Sailor... how do you get the stink out? may have to use for Belle's next pond water stink... So glad you missed me... if you needed me for the card table I suppose I could have been the dummy.... LOL
Curious about the Tux too....
Suse - so "With YOU" re: the Talented folks on here... In awe all the time... Thunder hope you found your pattern... that's SO sweet about son and the fishing.....Thanks for saving my "Spot" LOL...

Suse - it was truly the BEST weekend ever.... I mean we had our moments... of course... but overall nice and accomplished what I needed.... FIL and MIL seemed to have a nice time...

Friday My boss would not let me leave early as I requested. Finally the family picked me up at the office at 4:50pm...10 minutes before I would be off. Drove 3 hours in back seat with MIL... which was fine... she is very chatty and prob trying to take my mind off work...We arrived around 9pm and everyone who had not seen it was awed by the House... which made me proud to have found it. Second time to stay there....DSD1 came over with her BF and was so excited to have us there for her. She was like a comedy act ...with her BF side kick...had us all in stitches.
Next morning...DH cooked breakfast... beautiful morning on Cane River...Then Car show....then lunch...then Tailgate Party before Football Game... After Football game kids went out for a bit and I got in the hot tub.
Oh - we also celebrated MIL's birthday... I think she really was surprised and appreciated...

I'll look for pics... ((HUGS))
going to check on Deb's Prayer Post.....

I agree, love those shots!

Hey Bev, nice to see you posting and joining the swap!

Anyone heard from Shirley? Sure do miss her.

Glenview, IL

why, thank you!! those last three are mine!!...
tsking here, haven't seen Breenie's yet.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

well I will take a few new photo's on Weds or Thursday, and you will see how messy I can get!!!
right now there are fall and Halloween, and Christmas fabrics all over..as I am cutting charms for the swap, then there is camo and fleece, as I am making a few monkeys for Malena, and I have pulled out some flannels as I am determined to get some rag quilts started. I am trading some fabrics with Bev, she is giving me flannels, and I am giving her some cottons, so I needed to remember what I have, so I can decide what of hers will go with what I have.

great pics Judy !!! wild uhm pumpkin ?? tree???

and very interesting scarves Betty..My Momma would love them. Did you decide what to do for the rows in the Christmas quilt? I kinda like the candies, butttttt not so sure about those angels??? going to look around and see if I can find something a bit different...I am thinking three Angels, and five snowmen!!!!

Deb, I haven't posted much, but I think of you often. wising you well, and sending love and gentle hugs.

Baton Rouge, LA

So Northwestern LA University is the home of the "Demons"... Strange Football Mascot, huh?
I thought so... Any way I asked the family when we got home the Highlights of their trip:
DSD2: The First night - when DSD1 was telling us about her day to day (we were all laughing so hard !)
DS: The Northwestern Band / Half time Show (found out they are the #3 Band in the U.S. !)
DS's GF: The Car Show ! (Everything Model A's, Lamborghini's, the Dukes of Hazard car, Mustang w/ Elvis in it... TONS of Classic cars)
Hubby: His 2 "Goals".... without going into it... he was 'volunteered' for a Dad contest... 12 Dads competed... he didn't win but the contest was Hilarious !
Hugs,
Mary

Lexington Park, MD

Goodmorning to all.
I think I will ask Santa for a lap top or Ipad this Christmas so I am able to chat with all my friends.
Been in bed on pain meds for my back and the computer is down in the basement.
Will go back and read about everyones adventures.
Coffee is on.

Oh Laura, sorry to hear your back is giving you the what for! You've been really active of late and it doesn't take much for it to flare up? Do they say eventually you have to have surgery? We'll let Santa know you've been extra good this year so you can get that laptop...

Wow, what a war getting Sailor into the tub, she now smells pretty and soon my house will be. she is Getty heavy for me to lift in and out but no other option.

Judy the fall harvest and butterfly are superb, I imagine grades are marked on content? Glad she let's you hang out..kind of like a caddy..look

Mary, am sure that you MIL values all you do for her and that the birthday celebration was just the topping on the cake to a perfect weekend. your son's girlfriend I bet talked the ear of her parents, so full of exciting things to tell them...

Suse, you resting well in the layback chair..has Moses found a way to lay at your feet when the footstool is up...hmmm tomorrow is you anniversary right? Planning on doing something special?

thunder, aren't we terrible, remembering Roger would say, leave a tool or a piece of clothing around and you are in trouble, but see what Betty leaves dragging and it's ok. Lol
My accuquilt cut the 5" charms and I think I got carried away and cut so many out that now I've a 7" stack of them and must make them into something..how come one project becomes two more.

Best I get moving, some cleaning needs to be done downstairs or the girls won't find anywhere to paint!

It's cold out there, have to find me some warm duds!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Laura they are just too adorable, hubby included! What memories you'd made this summer...it's all but over for this year unless you head further south. Wouldn't it be wonderful to spend Christmas somewhere ?

I'm still thinking about having my Christmas on the 17th of December then when we close down doe the holidays I could head south, think we've 12 days off but then I'm not sure it would be warm enough for my little camper?

Could always bring an electric blanket, doing so would mean asking Santa for a little generator or one of those battery investors with plug in's...problem is, everyone wants to be home for Xmas and I'd have to do the road trip all by my lonesome!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Betty, sure hope you got some sleep?
Love the vacation pictures.

Laura, so sorry to hear your not doing well, but listen to that back and get your rest. Do you have pain pills? Maybe an ice pack will help a bit?

It is getting cool here in the mornings. It was only 61 when I got up an hour ago. It feels really nice, but it still gets up to about 90 during the day!

This is a miniature garden I put together. Still looking for a tiny 2 inch witch, but they are hard to find.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, wrote a novel and zap...gone!!!

LindaKay love your miniature..how creative. There is a Halloween shop downstairs, will take a 5 minute break and go check to see if they have any..could post today if they do! Your weather is what I would call perfect..are you now spending more time outside?

Checked weather forecast for my region, ooohhh happy days, our Thanksgiving will have no rain and increased warmth..great for having family Thanksgiving.

Spoke to Melanie last night, am having dinner on Sunday as they are going as a family to do Thanksgiving Dinner at the Church on Saturday..said if it had to be Saturday they would be ok with it..nope, can wait until Sunday. Now sending e-mail of Jeff with regards to day/time..not so sure he can make it, we'll see..Should call me mom and invite her and Jim but so don't want to go on about the dog, I truly am worried I'll say something I should not!

Took my camera with me this morning, beautiful foggy sunrise..not sure the photo's will turn out but will check them this evening.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Trying to finish up a couple of UFOs. I took this class a while back and finally got the piece finished. It's a folded log cabin pattern and the class was so much fun. Now I can hang it!!!

Thumbnail by Quilter5bdsr
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Barb, that is so pretty. What do you mean a folded log cabin?

Betty, I have a friend that is trying to make one out of polymer clay. Thanks for the offer.

Lexington Park, MD

LK that is a neat idea. Love the little skeletons.
Barb those colors are great. Never heard of foled log cabin.
Betty sounds like a busy weekend for you.
I do take pain meds but they put me out. I use heat and ice off and on.
