Sis... I said I'm sorry!!
Going back to being good.
saw a documentary today
forkvsknives.com
made an impact on me.
Dh is in china and he see's how the western diet is affecting the chinese. who'd of thunk... ? ! but its happening.
they eat more and more american diet stuff. KFC is really big there.
today was a tough day at work.
Karen the mean girl was at her worst ! grrrrr. she is soooooo passive agressive . good thing we only have one more week.... its going to be a loooooooong week. :P
Sue, it's just not the American style fast foods, it's ciggies too.
Reynolds selling them cheaper there.
The Brits were the first to introduce fast foods in Singapore. Fish & Chips. All deep fried. Starting in the late 70s, here comes KFC, followed by the burger chains.
I was one of the young consumers who thought it's more 'hip' to be holding a tub of KFC than a bag of steamed chicken rice.
As far as my family's concerned, fast food means local fare. The promotion to eat right has started years ago, when there's an increase in obese children.
Good night sistahs..
Hi All!! Kathy - glad the birdies are safe!!
Sy new job today went very welll!! Sent there on contract, but they want to hire a mature person who will stay there. I am a Project assistant - will be getting a corporate credit card. My boss wants me to go with him when he travels for meetings. My family is in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and he said he'd be asking me to go with him there, and to Montreal, and Staford England!
Wow, eh?
Wow, is right! Sounds like you have a good job!
I sure hope so - I'll work studiously to get everything in my "thick skull" lol
Good luck Susan, I'll keep you close in my prayers.....
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! Nice and cool 64 degrees this morning.
Morning sistahs!
That's an ideal job Susan. More like your boss' personal asst. You're very responsible besides being mature. Stafford, England? Wow is right!!
Get yourself a passport in case boss will be travelling to other countries.
Nothing much to report here. Supposed to be at the doctor's office today, but had to change my appointment to the 8th.
Don't you hate bloodworks? Each time I'm at the lab, and I'll be telling the technicians to use the finest needle and hope my veins don't roll.
So.. think I'll let my sewing machine hum some today after I check the plants.
Have a good day sistahs!
Morning!!!!
Been married 5 1/2 years here, no kids to keep me here either, and I completely understand how you feel Jaye, just hang on and take breaks you need away from him, you'll be alright.
YAY Susan!!! So glad you like the job!!!!! And traveling too, how exciting!!!!
Thanks for the comforting words, Crissy.
We haven't fought for 5 days now, quite a record actually. Nor I haven't thrown anything at him.
Please don't give up on praying for me.
Jaye, must make you feel good to not throw anything? ^_^
I don't waste money that way, LK!! LOLOL!
LOL!
Andy and Heather just found out for sure they are having a boy. He is due mid to late March!
Congratulations Grandma!! Have they decided upon a name yet?
Grandma LK - maybe the baby will be born on my birthday - March 11th? lol
Jaye - keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers, dear heart......
Today I was invited to the company Christmas Party on Dec 16th, the team building Bowling this Friday with people from Stratford England, and also to the Potluck they have on the last Friday of each month! I'm really beginning to feel a part of the company and it's only my 2nd day!!
Not firm on a name yet. It will either me Max Andrew or Dylan Marley...
Susan I have a strong feeling you have made a very nice impression on your new bosses!
It's great when a new job 'allows' you to assimilate immediately into their culture. Susan, you're blessed!
LK, I love Dylan Marley!! It's soooooo rockin' reggae!!
Dear Ladies - I'm hoping this "honeymoon stage" of my job keeps up, but unfortunately I've had too much experience "the other way" and I guess I'm letting my sister's warnings affect me.
I'm trying Not to "borrow trouble". It's kinda hard after losing my last job to be totally positive about any job. siiiiiiiigh
I won't let them realize this at work though! Once I'm on their payroll and have some kind of feedback, I will just have to wait and see.
Susan, I know you'd be more guarded with your emotions at work. In the work field, none is created equal. You've learnt that from your previous job.
Sadly, it's still a dog eat dog world in the corporate field.
We'll just have to thank God that He is in charge!!
Afternoon sistahs. Sorry I'm late. Woke up late this morning, had trouble with my kidneys.
I've been drinking just water or coffee for a month, and yesterday, was tempted to a diet coke. Wrong move. Been waking up in the middle of the night.
Wondering if anyone has ever experience this?
If I were to drink anything clear or Diet Code Red, it's perfectly fine. But when it's yellow or black dyed soft drinks, I'll be in trouble.
Power Prayer night tonight!!
Oh Jaye, it doesn't matter what I drink---come 3 am and well ................................
Busy getting caught up on things around here, got a pot of soup on the stove and looking forward to 40 wonderful degrees tonight. .....and yes, my bedroom window will be open. I love sleeping in a really cold room.
Jaye, sure hope you get your problem figures out! Maybe talk to your Dr. when you in November? I get real bad heart burn when I have anything with caffeine, and that includes chocolate! So when I decide I have to have my chocolate fix, I make sure I have mylanta near by!
I'm on Protonix LK, so no fear of acid reflux or heartburn. But I've learnt which diet sodas not to drink.
The clear ones get two thumbs up!
I'm back on water today, and no problems with the bladder.
Marion, when my sugar is too high, I'll be waking up often too.
So far it's 80 degrees here, and parts of NC are supposed to see snow. But temps will plummet to the 40s.
Sis Kathy, if you're lurking.. I said I'm sorrrrreeee. If it makes you feel better, LSU best defence and offence guys are rumored to be suspended!!!
Jaye coming from a childhood plagued with bladder/kidney problems any type of soda is the last thing you want to drink, the Co2 will only make it worse. Drink water and cranberry juice, those fluids float right through you smoothly.
Hi EVERYONE!!!!
Thanks for reminding me, Crissy.
I'll have to put cranberry juice on my grocery list, not the cocktail blends.
I could drink diet Tonic for my legs, and that too won't affect me.
Jaye, there are cranberry tables you can take once a day for this type problem. Not sure where to buy them but I will ask my sister. They have Mom on them since her last kidney problems and they seem to be making a big difference. Interested? The nurse told us Mom could have up to 4 daily.
I think we only got to 61 today but had some really good wind burst. Looking forward to soup tonight inspite of the fact I didn't have any okra to put in it. Dumb me!!!
Definitely Marion. Will just be another added to my pill cocktail!! I love okra but not fried. Can feast on a big plate of steamed baby okras.
Had shredded chicken with grilled onions and refried beans slapped into a sandwich. Amazingly simple, but good.
i love fast food. i m guilty of that. pizza is my demon of choice .
work was hard today. the woman i work with is just so annoying. one week left uhg. its a long week
jaye take care of yourself. that samwhich does sound good !
hi crissy
susan will be sending T&P for the job to stick around and keep you. sounds like a great job .
not much to report
oh i like the name Dylan Marley too !! sounds like a super duper name
Hi Everyone! Well, day 3 of a wonderful job!
I was getting a little annoyed at the fella who was training me in the Document Management/transmittal process as he gave me no doucmentation I could review, but came by my desk and walked me through it in his broken English.... he's Russian and some words he didn't know in Russian, let alone English lol
Anyway, I told him I was frustrated, and wanted to take down the documentation - he sat with me through it and I wrote it all down - NOW I have it! I told my boss how happy I was to have it now, and he said "What day is it for you????" I said "day 3" and he said "Wow - look at you - you already have it!!" So, obviously he's pleased. But then - that's usually the way it is lol I impress the heck out of them, then they get complacent, and with the exception of my 2nd last job, they can't handle that I don't need their help anymore and I just "go with it" understanding the processes and using them. Here's hoping this one pans out the way I'd like it to!!
Morning everyone! On the news this morning, they said there was a 4.6 earthquake in San Antonio this morning at 7:25 am. Very little damage, but still kind of weird to have an earthquake here!
Coffee is ready!
Susan
I hope these are the smart bosses that want smart employees like YOU. ^_^ Yes, they'd be the smart ones.. if the compliments given right away. What an encouragement.
LK, you okay? Didn't follow the news as usual, always stuck on football as you have discovered!
We shouldn't be surprise nowadays with mother nature. It's following Murphy's Law :(
Sue, you're too funny!!! It's like trying to look for that certain bra that will only be perfect for the dress you're about to wear? Lolol!!!
Glad your day will be better since Google bar is where it's supposed to be.
Woke up to 44*. It will be in the 70s.. so not too bad.
Speaking of bras..have you seen the expensive bra Victoria Secret is showing? Then I will order me several--one for each day of the week atleast. LOL
41 when I got up but not sure of the temps now--loving this cooler weather.
Thanks, Jaye! Your words of encouragement are very much appreciated!! As are everyone else's!
Today is a quiet day - both bosses are away - One's in Edmonton, and I'm not sure where the other one is.
I brought in a bouquet of flowers a friend of mine gave me on Monday as a Congrats For The Job! So sweet of Nami to give them to me!!! They're daisies (sunny yellow) and carnations (pretty pink - and fuschia Gerberas.
My boss gave me 3 pink pens with the co name on yesterday. Jaye, like you, I'm not fond of pink, but it was a lovely thought.
