No lens Debbie, no glasses until next week..bought readers to do me,seem to work ok.

It's black out there, Noah is at a friends, don't think he likes traveling the roads when it's dark...in these small towns lights are few and far between.

Almost forgot to tell you, I was coming down one of the back concessions, no other cars on the road..thought I saw a black dog but as I got closer I saw it was a bear..as I slowly drove towards it, it was in no hurry to move. Would stop and look at me, run a few hundred feet then stop and look at me, he did this about 4 times then he came across an opening in the tree line and left. I stopped at farmers up the road to let them know the bear was close at hand!

OHHHHH I would have brought him home, don't you just know it....lonely, looking for a home! Poor baby! lol

oh a black bear - was it a full/half grown one, or a baby?
Betty - so okay, a computer, and i-pad, and a laptop!! still no stress LOL I don't know the difference between and i-pad and an i-pod anyway.........

Betty - your Mom gave ME a headache ! lol... For real - that is so sad that you have to deal with that. She reminds me of the girl's bio-Mom... and that makes me sad too... that you and they have to deal with that. Just not able to make sense and it's always "me me me".....Their last visit (2 months ago?)... she told them her DH and her dad were dying (they haven't) and the girls had to go visit to support HER.....

Love the shoes Crissy. The Tropical Storm was LEE which DH got a kick out of as LEE (Due to the fight that got the QB kicked off the team) is the NEW QB for LSU football team.

Katie - I wonder if you could look into a Bed and Breakfast.... not only a nice homey place to stay but meals and someone to look in on you from time to time... not sure what your budget is... but that might be a treat and they are family owned often.....

Morning all, ca't believe the time, sleep like a log...had I had to go in this morning I'd be late..looking forward to a day at home..

Threatening rain here but has done so all week, ended up having to water the gardens last night.

Hoping you don't get Lee, your state is suffering enough LindaKay, but several days of rain sure would help those firemen! See that a lot of fighting of fire is done from the air..the firemen would do what on the ground? Are there trenches or specific fluids they would set around the perimeter?

Think Barb is getting more rain than they need this week and can blow some your way..

Mary, will have to check trip advisor.com and read your reviews..think I did a review when I took the boys to Washington. Must tell you though, had I taken the reviews of the hotel I stayed in as truth I'd have missed out on an enjoyable stay at the hotel..couldn't believe the suite and here I was minutes away from canceling.

So sad about the aircraft that killed so many including most from NHL hockey team..what a loss

The bear wasn't full grown but I don't think a cub either..to me he seemed playful, should have taken him in the car so I could drop him off to Debbie, am sure in a few days she would have him tamed and laying on her chesterfield.

When I was little I had a fox as a pet..loved him, but as months went by he was developing natural instincts and grandpa drove to the wilds and I had to let him go...didn't want to as I didn't understand the need...strange pets...did any if you bond with something you shouldn't have? Husbands don't count!

Susan, for lack of understanding the differences I would say an iPad is a smaller version of a laptop, very portable and more advanced??

A woodpecker, several raccoons, a fox family, many squirrels.....my Elk, even though that was just for a few hours. This summer, I have bonded with a male red cardinal, it comes when I go outside and "tat tat tat" sound quickly...he shows up.

Love to have a raccoon but not so sure of a skunk..did have a friend who had one and had the smell bag removed..didn't think that was good! Your pet skunk must not have felt intimidated in any way or you'd have smelt it.

very nice swan lake..............what do they call those "guys"?? the lovely ladies get titled with "prim a ballerina" but just look at all the work that fellow was doing!!!! they do not get enough credit !!!

I think Judy is still away, I think the plan was to be away all of this week, they were to leave this past Friday...a few days at the cabin with the kids, then the kids were to return home. Judy and Steve to go on further, to see some of Judy' s family, and to spend some time "out in the wilderness". She did not say a specific date, but it was my understanding that they were to be back home by Sunday / Monday..??

I have been wanting to call and see how they are....butttttt do not want to interrupt their "away time"!!!

I am hoping she calls me when they get home.

Also did a to do list for the birthday party..will read the list over with regards to everything that is needed for the day, drinks/eats/entertainment..make sure I've got everything or if she has something to be added and guess I'll call mom and see how she is doing...glut ten for punishment

Mom is still hanging on even after having us call the family in yesterday. At this point we're responsible for her room charge here. $426 per day.....ouch and ouch again!

I agree Crissy and these aren't even hospital charges. This is called TCU, transitional care unit that is at the campus where they live....do you think there is a discount for people who actually live here????? Nope.

I'll need about three days in the hospital with the surgery. It's Kaiser so I won't have to pay anything.

Am headed back home with air conditioner and other stuff enough to fill the van. I'll return soon with an empty van to pick up concrete stuff from my friend in Exeter, Ca. Then will return home to a home with a cool bedroom for the last two months of summer.

Two trips in short order is a lot but I'll take my time. The worst was last Monday when I had Labor Day traffic to deal with. It made things slow but I stayed calm.

Glad to have medical stuff done for the moment.

I didn't get the job that I was called about today - Shannon called to say the company found someone on their own, without the use of the Employment Agency.
I haven't heard from "the other Shannon" about the "other Care Home job" but I rather suspect they would have called me by now if I were to get the 2nd interview (the first was 1 1/2 weeks ago).

Anyway, I keep applying. Something is Bound to turn up. I spoke to a friend yesterday, and he's starting up his own computer company (3,000 sq ft store). We met him when he worked at another computer store, and he's since taken off on his own - he's an excellent computer resource for us. and before you say "yes, but will he be able to make it with his own company?" let me assure you that he's been "in the biz" for about 10 years, and besides being computer knowledgable, he's also has a very good business "head", gotten the full loan from the bank for the company, and is very personable (something very important when you're a business owner). I asked him if he had a secretary, and he was taken aback because he hadn't thought of that yet, and said I would be the person he'd hire once he'd taken that step. He'd only gotten as far as having the building built, and painted the other day, and setting the soft opening of Oct 1st. If it's the Lord's will, I will be working for him (unless I get another job first).

Sorry to hear about the job Susan! You must be disappointed..at least they called and didn't leave you hanging.. Drats, not good..who knows just maybe the Lord has been stalling you so you could work with your computer friend!

Busy afternoon, Darlene was visiting with Ann then dropped in for a visit. Kyle came after school. Suzanne dropped in with my pay and Kyle,I and Suzanne were enjoying a laugh when my Uncle Wayne dropped in (10 years my junior) hard calling him uncle. Lol
I hadn't seen him in about 20 years..he was on the run but said he'd drop in next time he's in town..Crissy now there is someone in need of your shoes..I even look down on him..

Made a faux pas though..got excited and asked him to mom's 80th..he's. 1/2 brother to mom...then once he left I remembered a few things..mom doesn't like him' and Sharon adopted a child of his and doesn't speak to him,,hate would be too light of a word to use..as for me I have never had a problem and he is family and am sure the rest of. He family would enjoy seeing him.. Guess who will be in trouble again?? Just after being a good daughter and calling her mom.

As for Koors, Sharon said the operation went well but they did not get all of the cancerous growth..waiting for pathology to let her know what stage the cancer is in. They will keep Koors until Monday or so.

Bad me, when talking to mom she mentioned she went swimming at a local pool..was so tempted to say something after her comment about drowning herself..then said she was asked to go to Niagara falls next week for 2 days of gambling so she was on a bit of a roll!

Aw Betty - I've done something similar before...but the situation worked itself out somehow as the "unwanted" guest realized that I was alone in wanting them to come.... I guess that is what happened... anyway.... for a large party like that all should *Should* be on their best behavior anyway....
Betty - the trip to Washington DC 8 years ago is what 'hooked' me on tripadvisor ! You'll see if you read my reviews...the very first one. I find I tend to be "too positive" if anything LOL...

My boss just emailed me to ask if I've gotten an answer from one of my clients on something. I've not found the time to talk to the client. So I'm trying to figure out what to say. I will definitely call first thing in the morning (the client) and pray I catch her before work.

This week has been SO Stressful at work... like someone's trying to say "SEE - there's no vacation that can relax you enough !" (evil laugh) BWhaaaaahaaahaaa

Mary - a "go getter" - you have me pegged to a "t". I can't just sit and do nothing, and I want to do "value added" work, not just "make work" stuff.
In the meantime, a friend of mine needs my help getting herself professionally setup in her catering business. She doesn't even deliver her invoices at the time of bringing the catering, and I told her all other catering companies do! It throws her behind in her receivables..... boy she needs some help! She has wonderful food, but if she doesn't receive her $$, her business is going to fail!!

Morning all, looks like a sunshine day here in my neighborhood today! Sitting trying to decide if I should head out to the office or stay home and work..know its my choice but somehow I feel guilty doing so! Will have my coffee and decide.

Oh Mary, let's hope you reach your client before you talk to your boss or it will really be a stressful day! Nothing like taking a vacation to u wind and end up right back into same stress and double the workload trying to play catch up...hugs my friend! Try and find a little cafe for lunch that you can sit, look at the sunshine and pretend you are anywhere but there....

Katie 3 days in the hospital isn't bad, not great but it could be worse. Glad you're getting everything you need while in CA. How long does it take for you to get to Mulege from Tijuana? Do you ever get inspected at the border? In a 44ft rented piece of crap motorhome it took the group of people I was with 2 days to get there, but that was in a motor home and the highway across the peninsula had potholes all over so we couldn't drive over 45mph.
