Glad to hear everyone here is doing ok..
Wondering how Mary made out..heard while driving to town that her neck of the woods is being hit on..hope she finds a few minutes to post..
Janice, hope you have a good day today..
Shirley, if you happen to lurk, know we miss you and are worried about you..even a 'hi' will suffice...
Best/worse/what did I learn today? Chat with friends!
lol your supervisor looks bored!
I'll have to post a photo of Missy if you want to see "bored"! Lol
Stopped raining, sky is still heavy! Must run back to grocery storen gorgo mozzarella cheese, could make a couple of trays for freezer rather than eating macaroni all week lol
Was wishing you Barb happy birthday when I realized it's not until Tuesday, same day as my grandfather...are celebrating early this weekend with your company??

Helloooooo everyone!!
sorry was MIA for a bit, we moved our son to his new apartment on Thursday, went shopping with him on Friday and yesterday we were just too bushed to do much of anything (was a PJ day for us...lol).
Today it is humid and one storm after the other is moving over our area...lost power early this morning and I am sure it won`t be the last time today. Picked green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and groundcherries in between storms and now I am ready for a nap...lol
Laura, Judy and Mary, I hope you are having a wonderful time on your vacation and remember it doesn`t matter what kind of weather you have on vacation...all that matters are the people you are with on your vacation :) Looking forward to the pictures!!!
Dianne, Bev and Shirley keeping you always in prayers, wishing you all a peaceful day.
Barb, thank you for for the pictures...looking forward to the rest!!! Hope you have a great day with your brother and SIL and yes you better hide your goodies!! My dear sister is kind of like that...whenever I quilt or make a craft she alway comments of how much she loves it...lol...guess in the hope I make her one too, which most of the time I do. She already commented on the beautiful bag you made me!! I know she treasures homemade gifts so maybe I will make her one for her Birthday in December if the pattern is not too hard!! I am sooo glad you are enjoying your Timmies!! Miss you!!
Betty, glad you are feeling better and are up to cooking!! I am sure you are a wonderful cook and I know just cooking for one is not as much fun as cooking for a bunch of people...plus having company while eating makes it taste even better :)
Can`t wait to see the finished applique christmas quilts...I love applique work...it is just like a puzzle putting all those pieces together.
Debbie and Chrissy are you both staying outa trouble??!!! lol...Hope you both have a wonderful weekend!!
Susan are you done all your canning and baking?? Those rum cakes sure sound wonderful and I hope it will be a great success for selling them.
Thunder I can only imagine how much you miss your boys...I miss mine and he is only 40 minutes away and I can call him anytime. Big hugs to you and know I keep them in thoughts and prayers.
Well I better go and have a mini nap, so I can tackle cutting the rest of my 5" charms for the swap.
Lots of hugs and love and have a wonderful day everyone
Thea
Thea will he have wheels so he can come home from time to time...40 minutes isn't too bad, if an emergency came up or either of you get lonesome it's just a hop skip and a jump to see each other..what are grown cherries?? I've a sister who is much the same, she'd never think of picking up or making me something but she sure knows how to say, want/I want and yes, like the rest of you I usually make it!
The quilts Thea are done in 12 rows..yikes the 8 reindeer panel looked easy but is quite time consuming..antlers, ears, nose, bow tie and beads for eyes...that's just the prep work..now that all the pieces have been cut I think I'll have lunch and start the 2nd deer panel..who know, perhaps tonight I can get the 3rd done...like I couldn't just do 1 quilt, mhave to do 3 at a time. Lol
Haven't had lunch yet so off I go..sun is so trying to come out, if it does perhaps later this afternoon I can get a few areas of the lawn cut.
Maybe I should do like you Thea and go have a rest...
Barb's birthday is Tuesday, wasn't sure if she was celebrating early with her family...can't have too many birthday parties!!
Birthdays age just like we do!!! Didn't you know that . I figure if my figure is stretching out, why not the day????? As I stretch the day(s) get longer!!!
At least I'm only stretching it for a couple of days!!!!
It was good to see them. Like me, they don't like to travel on the holidays. So they come on the middle day of the weekend when the traffic is lighter. It's about 1.5 hour ride so I do appreciate that they come....This is the SIL who took a big sponge and covered it with frosting one year for my cake. (She makes me a cake every year!!) You should have seen me trying to cut the da___ thing. And my brother was killing himself in glee. We do have fun together. They have left so as to be home before dark. It is clouding over again so I'm sure some rain is on the way. It is needed already. It is amazing how fast the lawn dried out after the storm last weekend.
I'm off to see about cutting up some fabrics that I can sew back together again.. I just love to play.......
Have a great day everyone....
Glad you enjoyed your day with them, sounds as though they are a lot of fun! Omg that would be a wonderful thing to do with the sponge. Lol
Bought a scarf pattern from my daily downloads, usually always quilt patterns but recently they are adding canvas, crochet and knitting...looks easy and would be nice to make as gifts..
Barb what project are you doing? Can you share?
Day here is going from sun, rain, cloud and back again!
I sent you a dmail- It's for the placemat swap and you can't show until after she gets them!!!!!
Beautiful Barb..I was in a placemat swap, did Xmas trees, which reminds me the'd make lovely Xmas gifts for the girls..must. Have missed this one, perhaps it's from the other site I don't visit. I'm sure the recipient will be jumping up and down...know I would
Happy early Birthday, Barb!!
I sent a few of you a "Secret Cook Book" via email (if I had your email) and would like to know what you think. I'm quite impressed with some of the recipes!
Thanks Susan. Birthday's not until Tues but I 'm going to celebrate all week. Different brother or child or grandchild every day!!!!
I'll send my email in a dmail....
I always get a kick out of Judy, she celebrates her birthday for an entire month. Lol. Great if you can ...
Cathy dropped in to visit, was downloading a pattern I bought this morning for a " sassy scarflette". Before I knew it we were reading the directions, I was finding wool and started showing her how. Lol.
Lorry if I wasn't so tired I'd finish it tonight. NOT!
Was hoping we'd hear from Mary..know it's storming badly in her neck of the woods..
Hope you've all enjoyed your day
lord willing we'll gab tomorrow
Well, Barb - you have an early b-day present - I sent you the Secret Recipes Cookbook in email.
Morning everyone,
Dark out there, not sure if it's a rainy day or it's just too early for the sun to shine!
Made a coffee, fed the furries and now I've all day to play.
Susan did look at the cookbook, some great recipe's..put it on my desktop for further use!!
Bet there are mixed feelings among the grandchildren who are looking at the first day of school..bit different now that some worked the summer and have to leave their weekly paychecks behind..once you get used to having $$$ in your pocket it's hard to be without. They'll soon get into a routinne I'm sure.
Well coffee calls...which donut shall you choose
I'll take a Dutchie Betty!!!!
Good morning world.
Hope it's a great day for you no matter where you are.
Busy day today - got to get laundry done. And going to Stacy's for a while too.
Thank you Susan , I'm looking forward to looking over the recipes....
Morning everyone!
WOW Betty, that is a lot of applique pieces!
Susan, I got the recipe book, and it is really interesting! I saved it to my desk top as well! Thank you!
Wrist is getting better every day. It is still swelled after 12 weeks tho. I have been pulling a few weeds but need to do some cleaning up. I know I have lost some hostas and daylilies. Scotty is doing fine. I go see him every other day. He trades his green tea, soda, and sugarless candy to people for things he does not need but oh well, he is almost 83.
My new haircut.
Oh Bev, you look beautiful!!! I love the new haircut, and that dark blue is VERY flattering on you. So happy to hear your wrist is doing better.
Bev, I love the new hair cut too! It will be so much easier to take care of!
Oh my, love the haircut Bev, not a whole lot shorter than when Debbie and I visited or perhaps it's grown in a tad..I certainly would keep it short, much easier to maintain, also suits you..glad you get to visit with Scotty..probably his trading gives him a pastime! So glad your wrist is I proving daily..
Meant to ask Bev, have you been taking something or found out why you are losing your hair?
Just the stress of life I think Betty. Never have had much anyway. I have baby hair. LOL
Bev, my grandma had the softest hair, was so light to the touch, always enjoyed doing her hair and making her pretty..hers wasn't because of stress though.. I've a think mass of hair..
Gee willikwers, almost temped to turning on the heat..no wonder I'm thinking scarves! Lol. Coooold
How cold is it Betty! It is nice and cool here this morning. Only 77 here at 11:40.
Not quite sue LindaKay but cold enough for a sweater and heat!! Enjoy the cooler temps..
You never cease to amaze me Bev...absolutely gorgeous!
Our "high" here is supposed to be 67....but it is 63. A low of 51 tonight.
yikes, it's 56 here..best I get used to it! How did the clean up go?? Much damage?
Not really much damage. The important stuff was saved. She had almost everything in plastic totes thankfully. Just moving and cleaning...airing out needed. Lots of muscle with the boys as they needed to knock down an old cistern wall. They painted the walls with a sealant and primer....so pending no more hot water heater incidents...they should be OK.
Those heaters can make a mess when they decide to blow up!
Thank goodness for plastic totes!! Glad everything is ok and that the boys did the slugging..
Received an email from Joice, she wanted me to say hi to you all, misses everyone.
She is Still using her crutches and saw the surgeon last Friday. Likely the surgeon will take out the long screw at the end of the month and probably 12 or 13 weeks.before she can put weight on it which brings her close to end of October and perhaps lateer..she really did a number on it.
Her mom is extremely ill and is in transitional care..her battle with cancer has been a long one, please pray for her needs and that of Joyce and her family.
Mary, Whirligig just started, could it be movie of the book?
poor Joyce! well, she should be fine by Thanksgiving/Christmas, right? We miss her too.....
Prayers are being said for Joyce's Mom and her family - what a lot on their plates....
Betty - you have whirligig (the book) now? I guess I'm next to receive it?!
Got some more canning of plums today - 9 pints to join the 9 quart sealers I did the other day.
The temp is 25c (77F) here and promises to get hotter yet.(28c/82F) as it's only mid day and gets hotter by 4:30.
Sure is nice to get summer temps after that rain we had last week!
I'd best go look at my garden and see if there's more to harvest! I'm leaving the potatoes to get big - I've had several feeds of baby potoatoes, so will leave them until the end of the month :-)
No, the whirligig book I had went to Barb, wasn't smart of me, should have read it when Judy gave it to me but didn't! Nothing like having a meal right from the garden. Cathy dropped in with Clara, elderly woman who lives across the street from her..visits and takes her for a walk now and then..she always enjoys coming here..they say her memory has gone but I just don't see it on her visits..to me she is as sharp as a whip...
Today she was sporting a beautiful blue jacket, white hair done very stylish, lipstick on...asked her if she was going to a wedding, said no! Little later told her just how beautiful she looked...few minutes later she was ruffling through her pockets, Cathy asked her what she was looking for?? She pipes up and says, 'pennies for Betty, am sure she wants to get paid for the compliments!'. Imagine, pretty good for someone they say has completely lost her thinking process..
I have Whirligig.....will start reading it tonight or tomorrow. I have had a zoo going on here and no time to sit.
Betty - then you haven't read Whirligig?
It's amazing how some older people will "hide" their intelligence as soon as people start treating them like newborns again - I sorta don't blame 'em though, y'know?!?!
