Morning Sistahs!
LK, thanks for the coffee. I'll be adding molasses to mine. Yes, I now believe in unsulphured molasses. Got more energy than I used to have, plus it 'regulates' me!
The weather is beautiful, in the low 80s and my giant elephant ears FINALLY appear!!! Thought they died!!!
Oh well, they'll be midgets for now!! Might get Kel to unearth them!
If they survive, maybe my Wretched Mess, a brug, might return.
Peaches and Cream which is supposed to be a variegated, and had returned as a variegated for 3 years, is now showing only solid green leaves.
Just like the bicolor Jap. Moss rose I have. Always bloom a bicolor for 2 years. But this year, it's blooms are either white or red!! Not both in one bloom!!
Part of my day's plans.
I'll be looking for simple patterns to start sewing for Christmas gifts. Can't afford to buy stuffs for my part French nieces and a nephew, so I figure anything made of fabric will be lightweight and cheap on mailing costs.
I have one nephew who's 19... now what can I sew for him? Any suggestions?
You all have a blessed day!
§Sweet Interruptions 226§
'Mornin' or late morning, which every you choose. Thanks for the coffee, really is good but then, I don't think I have met a bad cup of coffee.....well maybe now that I think about it. My late MIL loved chicory coffee, that was fine but strong enough you could stand a spoon in it was a wee bit to much. LOL
Rained all around us late yesterday..sure wish we had some but thank goodness the faucets work! Dread seeing my water bill.
Yikes, what does a 19 yo male like? Good question Jaye, I would be hard pressed to think of something.
Off to get some supplies for Kim. She has students with birthdays this week and it is traditional she bakes a cake for them. One is crazy about pancakes and would you believe she found directions for making a "pancake cake!" Curious to see how this turns out.
Jaye, does he have a laptop, or an Ipad, maybe you can sew him a cover for it?
Morning Marion!

Take a pic of that pancake cake MaidM!! Kel loves pancakes too, might just surprise him with one!
Aren't you blessed to have a baker in the family?
LK!! Yes he has a laptop!! Good idea!! THANKS!
Oh I will be making pictures of this adventure for sure. Kim has taken the Wilton classes and loves to bake--just sad we don't get to enjoy the products of her work anymore. Hummm, might have to make on for Catie-Beth as she would eat "pamcakes" every meal if she could------topped with macaroni and cheese!!!!
Morning LK.
Pamcakes!!! Too funny!!!! Maid M., I wish Wilton offers classes in France!!
My sister loves to bake, and I had to send her Wilton books and products to help her. Then to her delight and advantage, my nephew is now an apprentice to a reknowned baker in Nice.
LK, I showed Kel pics of laptop sleeves and covers, he says it's too 'sissy'. Said we're better off sending him cash!!! Men!!
LK, Thunder had given some great suggestions.
She had suggested beanie headgear, loungewear and maybe something to keep him warm.
Since Alexandre loves anything gothic, I have a very good excuse to go fabric shopping!!
"MEN"!!! You got that right!
If he is the baker, how about some hotpads... Maybe some kitchen towels with an applique?
Loungewear would be nice!
Lolol!!! LK, we think alike!!! I was thinking of making my sister hotpads and kitchen towels with an American theme!! Got to use up my RWB scraps!
Latest news from Audrey (Doe41). Her surgery has been moved up to Sept. 9th instead of 28th.
God is moving the doctors to do it asap.
Keep her in your prayers please.
On a prayer note.. please pray for all those that need..like Cookie, her mum.. Susan and Bob.. Marion's Mum..Pegi's DH..Crissy's DH..Cindy's DGD Taylor, if you can, @ 9 pm your time.
There should be no confusions there, no matter where you're at.
Spirit will move these prayers.
yaay that the surgery has been moved up!
Prayers for my ex please. He had heart surgery yesterday, and while he was complaining last night that they wouldn't let him have even water, he seems to be "out of the woods". The first 2 times he "just" had angina attacks (while he was out on the road - he's a trucker - 75% blockage, and 90% blockage!!), and the last time on June 16th, he had a stroke. He'd just gotten home about 4 hours previously, so he at least wasn't on the road!
4 months after the surgery he's able to go back to work, but then he retires in Nov 2012, so it's unlikely the company will let him drive again (after all - twice having attacks while at work!). Actually, the first time he was driving and passed out, going over a 200ft incline, and across a farmer's field before he came to...... and wondered why his windshield was cracked! He's run into a tree!!!
He said to me the other day "I didn't expect to live past 45"....... DUH! what an idiot he is - terrible life style - smoking 3 to 4 packs/day, eating ("It's all bought and paid for" he says about his stomach) and developed diabetis 4 years ago. He won't stay on a diet.
I'm sooooooo glad he's my ex, cuz I couldn't put up with his self destruction. I told him when he was only 30 that he needed to make some lifestyle changes, but noooooooo "It's all bought and paid for" like it was the only thing he was assured of, the tummy fat!.
Thanks for letting me vent, all!!!
Still - prayers for him, please - he's not a bad guy, just stupid about his health!
Hello Ladies,
Not much happening here. Just getting camping stuff ready for next weekend, Not going anywhere this weekend, and the temps are back up to 100 Fri & Sat, ugh :(
YAY!!! Taylor went back to school yesterday and had a GREAT day!!!
yaaaaaaaaay for Taylor's great day! What about her tonsils?
Good for you that you're going camping!!!! Enjoy to the fullest :-)
I don't know why it is that some men just don't take care of themselves. I keep telling my DH he has to move around more for taking care of his heart and no blood clots. He just tries to joke around, doesn't take too many things seriouslly.
Susan, I hope you will be working soon, one place or the other. Prayers being said for your ex, yep won't take care of their health but still need our prayers.
Hmmmm they are still following thru with x-rays & specialist before they tackle that. But I told my daughter...."it's the only way she will get over this, and you know that too"
Thank you, Pegi - appreciate it. We women are the strong ones, despite the fact that men figure they have the muscles lol
Thank you for your prayers for Bob & I to get work, too. He's starting to get a little anxious.
(((((((((Sue))))))))) sleep well, dear lady!!
Was here earlier, got your request Susan about your ex, went to the other site to see whether there are any new prayer requests.
Said prayers for the specific ones and those that don't ask, I still ask He bless them. We all can use extra blessings right?
Sue, I am so glad you started this. Really love this idea. Jamie on the other site is calling it a "Power Prayer". So it is.
Wednesday night at 9, wherever you are, let's do this.
Susan, Pegi, they're not dumb just stubborn!! My ex learnt from his dad how to pay attention to his health. His dad was so stubborn that he refused to follow doctors' orders, had multiple strokes and ended up flat on his back for the last 5 years of his life.
Each sore or pain or anything out of the unusual, ex is feeling, he'd go straight to the doctor. Well, he could do that as he's covered by VA.
Taylor deserves to have a great day at school. Poor child needs to feel like a regular, normal child. When those unnecessary tonsils are removed, hope you and your daughter can breathe easier!
Treated Kel to a nice Mexican dinner. The tamales at that restaurant were awesome and so cheap. He also had Chille Rellanos. Me.. it's shrimp enchiladas with a cheese sauce. Oh dear... the minute I left the restaurant.. we were playing gassy tunes in the truck. Of course, he drove with windows rolled down all the way home!!
Good night sistahs. Love to all, leave all your cares to Him.
I posted in Prayers forum Jaye - thanks for reminding me. I forget that the forum is there, and just ask for a quick prayer - forgetting that y'all will pray constantly, especially for ongoing issues like this. It's only been going on for 30 years, for Steve!! He just doesn't see that his health is important, and that he's on a self-destructive path.
good morning
kids and i slept in , i will drive them to school.
tonight another game
last night game was crazy
sat next to a OBNOXIOUS MOM AND DAD .they would yell " contain , contain ! " ??? whaaaa ??? i mean you should have heard there converstations ?
about their sons playing ? it was like they had a scout with them ?? for the World Cup ..
and we got home so late. The game was in the other county a 4o min drive. I can say we won't be doing those games anymore on a school night .
Susan T&P for your ex.

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready with hot sausage biscuits.
Thanks for coffee LK. You're such a sweetheart, getting up early and fixing coffee for so many.
Sue, is it soccer? Yep, lots of parents out there living vicariously through their kids, sadly in sports and pageantry.
Have you seen the show Toddlers and Tiaras? It's a sick show!!! Little girls all dolled up wayyyyy beyond their age, and even one had false boobies!! You should see their stupid mothers!!! They don't get to be beauty queens themselves, so they're living their dreams through their girls who turned out obnoxious themselves.
Can't these mothers see that these pageantries are only fodder for pedophiles?
Not much to report, except for the usual chores today. Will be looking online for skull fabric, and last night I learnt that Alex bought himself a sleeper sofa. Said he's tired of sleeping on a bunk bed!
Might just do a throw for him too.
Lunch will be hmmm.. carrots dipped in blue cheese dressing? That doesn't sound appetizing doesn't it? Kel's having leftovers!
Hope you all will have a good day.
If you waiting to long to get your pancakes then this is what you will have! LOL
This is the cake she did for her student's birthday------he loves pancakes. Done with cake batter cooked on the grill--obviously. This was a learning first try and boy, did she learn about how to do the icing better. Oh well, the next one will be different--no heating of icing as it turned it to fudge. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

MMMmmm you're right Maid M! I want a bite!! Thanks for following through with a pic!
What's that yellow supposed to be butter, made of?
Now just an idea.. what if it's just regular pancakes with Nutella spread between the layers, than have dripping icing over the "cake". That would work too right, Kim?
Your students are so lucky to have you!! Not many teachers would do that.
By the way, Kim, you certainly look gorgeous!!!!!
It's "Teachers Day" yesterday in Singapore.
Teachers there get more respect in all ways. Salary, subsidized housing....and well behaved kids.
YUM!!! That looks very good!
I love Nutella. I first had it when we were in Belgium, then I found it in the stores here too! Oh, and the Bonne Maman preserves!!!!
Jaye ranch dressing is better for your veggies.
Jaye, I would think you could use type topping you wanted. This student is a chocolaholic so it had to be chocolate. The butter is buttercream frosting with yellow food coloring. Froze the icing and then took a teaspoon and made the curl--trying to replicate what IHOP does with theirs. It was definitely a learning process as she only instructions on how to cook the cake batter. The article just said ice like a pancake. I am not complaining as the icing she heated so to be able to drizzle turned into fudge--thus the areas that look like nuts. Mom loved the fudge parts! LOL
Mom will take the compliment for Kim---I am so proud of how she is doing--losing more but oh so much better.
LK, I'm so glad you had a great food experience in Belgium.
Had Nutella in Singapore, and I can't have too much of it. Yep, WM carries that too here.
My sister can't buy anymore Nutellas as one of her daughters, Suraya, can't stop from eating that ONLY. Of course, mum had to buy new clothes for her!! Lol.
That's brilliant of Kim, Maid M. Freezing the icing and then curling it.
Think I'll do a Just Because pancake cake for Kel next weekend.
Kel loves anything chocolate, and I got some Cote D'or chocolate with hazelnuts.. that will go well with Nutella filling. Will melt that choccy with some cream.. maybe add a tad of Chambord or Cassis... If he won't eat it, oh well, extra insulin for me!!!
If Kel likes Chocolate so much, Jaye - you should look at the Secret Cookbook I sent you via email. It has this cake in it:
TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE CAKE
Original Recipe Yield 1 12 cup Bundt cake
Ingredients
• 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
• 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 4 eggs
• 1/2 cup warm water
• 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, mix together the cake and pudding mixes, sour cream, oil, beaten eggs and water. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour batter into a well greased 12 cup Bundt pan.
3. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until top is springy to the touch and a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool cake thoroughly in pan at least an hour and a half before inverting onto a plate If desired, dust the cake with powdered sugar.
Would like to ask that you keep Janice in your prayers tonight. Her surgery is tomorrow and I'm sure she'd appreciate it..
Met her several times and she's just one of the sweetest ladies..as I sit here tonight I think of how worried she must be..hoping Stacey or someone is able to get news to us concerning how she's doing..
Copied from Betty's thread.
Thank you Susan. Another must try recipe!
LK, that's indeed very important news. Will certainly say some heavy duty prayers for her before bed. Think I'll ask Stacey to keep us posted.
Janice at least have some great DILs to help her.. hopefully. She's such a sweet person, Betty is right.
Had a foot long Subway's Italian... gave the meat to Lola while I munch on the spinach, tomato and olives.. no dressing.
Good night all!
I will keep Janice in my prayers. God grant her peace and health, and quick recovery.
Sending my prayers as well....
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready, with bacon eggs, and toast.
Morning!!! Morning!
Hope you lovelies had some good sleep.
Anxious to hear any news on Janice. Stacey just started being active again on FB, hope she read our messages, LK.
Well, I'm finally able to head to the post office, so mailing my swap box today. But not the charity block. Probably have that done by the weekend. Bought the thread, and Kel kept saying, leave it be.. I might mess it up!!! Still look too plain to me.. might just whip stitch if I were to add another piece!!
LK, any blooms on the brugs you have left? I have a couple more noid that just started having buds. Hope they're white.
Sue.. sistah... wooohoooo....... hope you're not going stir crazy!!
Marion, doctors' appointments went well?
You all have a fantastic day!
