Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Bev - raying for the Lord's healing of your wrist, and prayers also being said for Brian's GF that she has the help and support she needs.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Bev I missed what you said earlier, LOL be ready to pull weeds when the snow starts, now that's my luck and I'm not trying to pass it onto you, I promise I'm not! I hope it heals faster than they think it will!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Taking a break, were going off to town to Fort Saint Marie but bad weather is called for..even possibility of tornado...imagine..

This morning Barb made a Victorian Santa like many of you did in the workshop..velvet dress and Norm trooper that he is made a floormat..will go in Barb's washroom...matched colors to a 't' she said..was fun and he was into it..not a complaint..

Couldn't believe the time, ordered fries and making grilled cheese for lunch..turkey in the oven so got to watch we don't overdo..just remembered, got the turnip but forgot the cranberries so might have to go to town, cant have one without the other..

Have photo's. Hoping to post photo's later

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty seems every time you go to Fort Saint Marie there's a tornado involved. YIKES!!!!

Lyndonville, NY

A quick pop in. We are back home.

They didn't get DH into surgeyr until Noon straight up. Lasted an hour....

Found some LARGE debris in there, even gave us pictures as doc was impressed by size.
He is wrapped up tight entire arm and lots of padding.

His pain level after surgery was a bit too high...so they ended up doing a nerve block at 2:00....we left at 3:00 to come home.

Will be back in a bit

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Keep him comfy, and full of pain meds for a few days! Praying for a speedy recovery!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - your DH is in God's hands, and very capable after-surgery nurses - they'll make sure he recovers well and healthy. He's in the best place right now. Hope he sleeps because that's "the best medicine".
Keeping him in my prayers.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Seems it's delay after delay when it comes to having something done at a hospital. Glad you made it home ok and keep him down for the count.

Lyndonville, NY

Yeah, me...I am the only after surgery nurse he has. He came home. lol Well, and Axl...the cat is standing guard.

Thank you Everyone

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oooopsie - should really read the post, shouldn't I, Debbie lol
Good for Axl - your DH is feeling better for being in his own bed now, I'm sure!!
I thought you said I left to come home at 3:00

Victoria Harbour, ON

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Save me some turkey for a sandwich tomorrow please? I love cold turkey sandwiches!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

mmmm me 2, LK, me 2!!!! It's a tradition in our family that, when Boxing Day is here everyone subsists on turkey sandwiches, and "make your own" is the rule. After all, the cook spends a lot of time Christmas Day making the dinner, etc, so I deserve the next day OFF!! lol
mmmmm turkey sandwiches..... what a wonderful idea!!!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Good evening all,
Tornato warning for Midland Betty!! Please stay safe and take cover and check in when you can!!!
Dianne and Debbie hope you are all safe too...we are supossed to just get heavy rain so far
Prayers for everyone and will check in later hopefully
Love and many hugs

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LOL Thea - I can't read, apparently - I thought you said "TOMATO" warning........ and I was wondering how someone would warn about tomatoes - maybe the Italian Tomato Festival? Sorry - couldn't resist!!!

Baton Rouge, LA

OMG SUSAN! I did the same thing! "Tomato Warning" ! I can't wait to have a Tomato warning around here.... my 4 little plants... it will be a WHILE!
Betty - please slice a few dark meat Turkey slices for me.... :o)
Deb.... So glad everything went somewhat smoothly today. I hope they gave you some good Pain Meds. Oops mean your DH.... LOL... maybe if he is a *pain* they will help LOL....
Bev - if you can pull weeds and it is snowing up there...please come visit me... I usually have some great weeds to pull year round... LOL....
Oh Crissy - you are right.... just go pick everyone up and we'll be in the hot tub by tomorrow....

Hubs went to Ted Nugent concert tonight. wanted me to go but it's been such a crazy week. I said go without me. DS is in great spirits... making money at his new job and in school. Youngest is home with a "homework" date....

I got my new Drivers License today....slowly putting the pieces back together.

Getting robbed IS a good way to clean out your purse. Used to I'd get a new purse and all the old nasty gum and bandaids, safety pins, pennies and stuff would make it's way in. Not so this go around .... I literally have 4 things in my purse right now LOL...

HUGS,
Mary

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ahem...... you could be in MY hot tub by tomorrow...... !! It's an 8-seater, so should be good for some, while others have some mojitos!

Yes, Mary - it IS a good way to clean out your purse, but Not if someone else does the cleaning!! (lol couldn't resist!)
(((((Mary)))))

Baton Rouge, LA

LOL - you are right Susan.... I'm sure that crook is really enjoying my bandaids, dental floss, hygiene articles right now LOL.....

Don't think we can fit 8 in mine Susan..... maybe we'll just have to do a "Hot Tub Tour".... Where we stop by everyone's place and check out their gardens/hot tub/ etc......

Betty - please put Private Jet on the list for when *we* win your lottery !

((HUGS))

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

How about a Lear Jet? They always have a bar and comfy loungers..... (not that I'm a drunk or anything, but a nice glass of wine would be appropriate, doncha think?)

Verona, ON

Betty hope you have battened down the hatches- CITY News sure had a terrible watch then warning for your area. Initially they said it was just Goderich, Kincardine but they expanded the areas as the newscast went on. Norm will be a great help battening down all those hatches Betty he used to be in the Navy.
Debbie I didn't get a chance to get on earlier but was with you in spirit while DH had his surgery..... but you knew that anyway. Ya gotta train Axl to wait on each and every whim DH has so you don't do all the running. Please remember to take care of yourself too.
Turkey sandwiches sound outstanding - did you make your own stuffing?
Crissy when will you hear about the job you faxed Dave's resume to? I know not soon ehough!
No hot tub here just the lake but the water is still warm. Betty has your water warmed up enough yet to even poke yur toe in?
Starting to rain need to get the pups in...
Dianne

Baton Rouge, LA

Susan... I think we'd settle for a Lear Jet.... Betty - you got that on the *list* !? I'm always down for a glass of wine....

Dianne...any body of water counts.... and we need to make sure we stop by your place to take THE MORNING WALK... I am really looking forward to that one.... Axl needs to learn from Stormy so Deb can leave DH in his care for a time or two.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Turkey sandwich, leer jet, hot tub tour, a glass of wine.... This trip is getting better all the time! LOL!

Lyndonville, NY

Good evening...

Storms moving in here big time (Thanks Betty!)

DH had the nerve block, so is reallly feeling NOTHING. This is good.

He had a realization that I was NOT milking it and being a drama queen about needing help with stuff. He couldn't open a candy bar wrapper....or a bottle of soda! Couldn't open his pills....so he learned. I go Friday monring for my post op.....but am doing much better.

OK, sorry to cut this short...but I have been up since 3:30....and it is catching up to me along with the storms!

Sweet dreams....waving to all.....
Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sleep tight!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ok, LK - I don't want anyone gawking at me, so it's Not a Leer Jet (lol couldn't resist), it's a Lear jet! (big grin - maybe I do want someone leering at me, but at a safe distance! What woman Doesn't want her body considered for leering? lol)
Ok, I'm all for a turkey sandwich, but dressing only comes with the hot turkey, not the sandwich......
Besides a tour of bodies of water (2 hot tubs and a lake - do we have any others?), a jet, unending wine and turkey sandwiches, we need our "stash" and maybe Betty will bring some of her craft supplies!
This sounds tres kewl!! I'm going to get myself mentally "on-track" with this, and maybe it will be the old "believe it, and it will happen" kind of thing..... I REALLY want to go to Betty's RU next summer......

Verona, ON

Morning everyone, well I am still up just too distressed to sleep. Have the "can't shut my brain off" thing going on.
Need some suggestions here - I just don't know what to do as everything seems trite considering the magnitude of what this family has been through. Some of you might remember my friend from the store who was charged with theft over $5,000.00 but the charges were dropped, her DH has Stage 4 cancer and after a year of treatment and operations is still alive but not doing well, her 32 year old son died suddenly a few months ago. Just to add to this poor gal's stress her 35 year old son died yesterday.I am at a loss of what I can do to help out right now so am anxious to have your input.
Hope you all fared as well as we did with the storm last night. Quite the T and L show with tons of rain, in fact it is still pouring and has been since about 11 pm.
Going to make some hot chocolate see if that will lull me into at least a nap.
Dianne

Lexington Park, MD

Dianne all I can say is
wow your poor friend is going through so much.
I am no help at a loss for words.
Do you live close to each other?
Maybe if you let your friend know you are there to listen or just to give her a hug.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, so sorry to hear about your friend going through so much! Sending lots of thoughts and prayers her way! What happened to her son's? Praying she may go and get some therapy or counseling.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Praying for all who need some comfort. Please send us your rain. My poor lawn is brown. Wrist is getting better. In therapy they are forcing it but no pain no gain right. LOL. Good thing I have a high pain tolerance. She did raise my but up off the seat a couple of times. LOL I am still losing my hair. I get a boy cut today. I don't know if I will like it but oh well. My hair is so thin and baby fine. I will have to wear a wig before long.

Morning Bev, glad to hear your doing therapy! Why are you losing your hair?
That August Fair sure is pretty!

Betty, Barb... check in please? We all know your having loads of fun, but sure would be nice to see a few pictures! Hope you did not get any damage from the storm last night!

Verona, ON

LK Betty was right smack dab in the middle of 1 of the areas that had tornado plus T and L warnings. Now that was at 7 pm last night so it could have bypassed her altogether. Barb and Norm are never going to forget the Canadian weather they met up with on their trip here. On Sunday Barb, Thea and their DHs met up with a terrible rainstorm on their drive to Kingston. There is a good chance they don't have hydro.
Bev so love your flower of the day. Glad to read you are doing your exercises. There are some days you have to wonder why though as the pain is so bad but in the end it will be worth it.
LK, My friend's youngest son died of what they think was a heart attack in his sleep and Cory her oldest had a stroke. He was on life support but the family decided to take him off of it Tuesday night. Such a loss they both were sweet boys.
Dianne

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dianne WOW the best advice I have for you is just make your friend know that you love her very much and comfort her whenever she needs it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't shut my brain off last night. Dave has had the strangest thing happen, he is VERY anal about his filing system and keeps his passport, ss card, birth cert, and all his military papers in a safe and it's locked. He went to get his ss card out yesterday so when he gets hired by one of these companies he has it so they can make a copy of it. It's in a baggie with his passport and put into one of those clear plastic sleeve things that go into binders, everything is there except his passport and ss card! I haven't had it, he hasn't gone anywhere or taken any classes or anything, plus is passport has been expired since November something, so it's a complete mystery. He's going to go to ss office this morning and get another card and request a proof of employment to be given to him right there so he can still get a job while he waits for his card. We have completely tore the house apart, and I tore my office apart this morning just in case.

Bev!! Glad PT is going good! Love the lily! Sorry about your hair loss, that is quite strange but I've heard of it happening to many other people and I lose a fistfull of hair every morning in the shower, it's a wonder I'm not bald!

Lyndonville, NY

Bettys area got his with the storms last night.....big time. I know...because she sent them to me. She may be without power.

Bev, loosing hair....get your thyroid levels checked out. DO they have you on a new medications....? Topomax can cause hair loss also.

My boys...both...were on the back roof (climbed out Nates bedroom window) and watching the storm last night til I heard them...."GET IN HERE NOW". They didn't listen....so I went back "Dad said get your a$$s off the roof and in the house." (he didn't) and they moved!!!!

DH is doing well this morning, nerve block....still no pain. I am laughing because he didn't believe me the things I said after surgery....can't carry my arm it is so heavy. NOW he is facing the same thing. Can't open simple packaging, soda bottle, etc. He told me to stop gloating that I was right. lol He had a nice breakfast...and other than that, resting and watching comedy movies "Airplane II, Robinhood men in Tights" Lordy help me!

Ok, need to get chores done......

Dianne, I replied on the other thread....but perhaps helping her make a "therapy" or memory garden....a journal to write....and just being there with hugs and to listen. I know when I could write everything on the Prayer forum...it helped me so much just to get it out.
I am going to be with you two tomorrow....make room!

Debbie

Betty has the Ipad she always types on, unless the battery in it is dead.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, they were both much to young to be having heart problems! I can't imagine losing so many family members so close together, let alone your kids! (((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to her!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

If she has no power, I don't think she can get Wi-Fi?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't know how Ipad's work, but I doubt she has wifi in her house anyway, it would connect to the phone companies server if wifi isn't available. That's how cell phones work anyway.
