Betty Norm and Barb said they were going to take Hwy# 12 so they won't have a speedy journey but certainly a pleasant one. Barb also said they would stop every couple of hours to stretch their legs and make a pit stop if needed.I wouldn't expect them until late this afternoon, time enough for you to get out there and find yourself a man.lol
Thea it sounds like you all had a blast together and dinner at Frankie Pesto's WOW. We went to Frankie's for a wedding reception and the food was excellent so hope yours was as well. Frankie's is owned by a friend and his brother, they have 4 or 5 other restaurants in Kingston as well. So sorry to hear about the loss of your cousin.
Darn and double darn - actually it was blue words that came out of my mouth - Mary your book is sitting here on my dining room table. That will teach me to try and sneak out of the house without waking up the dogs. I will mail it tomorrow.
When I left I put Stormy in a down stay beside Warren's side of the bed. I was concerned Warren might try and get out of bed by himself. Stormy was still there when I got home. Bless his little heart! He learned how to help me get up from a fall when I was having so many problems with my knee before it was replaced and he has helped me get Warren back up on his feet after a nasty fall a couple of weeks ago.Don't give the pup enough credit for what he can do well methinks. He is a real livewire and needs to take Amitriplyene every day or he would be on the ceiling. He's 11 next week and he still looks and acts like a pup.

I've been so swamped lately with work here at work and work here at home I've struggled to keep up with myself let alone everyone else! I'm so sorry I went MIA for so long but I think I'm back now. WooHoooo!!!

Yes, he's about to get the one who will take him to CA for 4-6 weeks, I faxed his final application over to them this morning, on Friday they emailed him the application that they have to have on file to work there even though they hire via resume, plus sent him the benefits package for him to look at too. You don't know how hard I've been praying that he has GOT to get this job, he has just GOT to, for more reasons than one!

I had an awful day and came home and Belle is right by my side....she has come up and put her head on my lap and just lookingat me....

got to work fine... then left to see a client in the old part of town. I was in there barely 30 minutes. Thieves came along broke my passenger window and took my purse (including all my Birthday gift cards, other gift cards, my anniversary necklace, $80, debit card checkbook, etc)
AND my work laptop (including ALL the work I've saved for 2 years along with my presentation(s) that I had planned to make yesterday ....

After police and calls to insurance, boss, etc... I left and got stuck in traffic - a train derailment (or something) got home to have lunch at 2:30p and just stayed here trying to take care of things.

I think I've taken care of things but I know you will all let me know if I've forgotten something. The bank doesn't think I should open a new checking account....

Glass company will get here tomorrow morning 8a-10a and hopefully will have a legal ride again so can get to the store to buy a new wallet, purse, etc. need to get a new Drivers license.....

Crissy - they have a visiting teacher come by apparently, but hasn't asked how they're doing?!?! anyway, Reeva said no one knew how they were, so weren't asking why they hadn't been attending Temple.
The woman in Salt Lake City said "I wonder where the Bishop is......" On the flip side, I suppose when they were speaking to people from the temple ie: visitng teacher - they should have mentioned something! I don't know why they didn't - they mentioned how bad Reeva's back was when we were there, but I didn't know they weren't going to church, and I didn't know about Ron's heart, until today when I called.

Susan a visiting teacher shows up at their house and stays for 1 - 2 hours, they don't just knock on the door to see if someone answers. If someone is visiting I would think it would come up in conversation, they don't talk only about church stuff either.

Mary, so sorry to hear about your break in! I know that feeling all too well, and it just makes you so mad, and you feel vioated as well! Hope you can stop them before they go on a shopping spree. Note to Mary, don't leave purse or items in car...

Also, change your house lock. A friend of mine had her purse stolen from her while she was walking - she cancelled everything and got it re-issued. Another friend said "change your house locks". She didn't, and a couple months later they broke into her house, using her keys......
Even if they only get a look at your car registration and VIN from your car, they can get duplicates of any car/house keys made. Most dealerships take the VIN as valid ID and if they have the registration too, then they can get keys made. They can use the same ID to get house keys made.......

No, Canada Post doesn't "whirl" LOL A friend of mine works as a postie, and I forgot to ask if the mail clog from the Postal Strike has cleared, but I believe it has. It just takes time to go through customs. Our mail is back to it's 2-4 days across Canada thingie, but trying to get something through Customs is quite another thing@@

We were so excited yesterday that I didn't even take photo's but will today, promise!

I won't have to worry about completing my 3 Christmas '12 Month of Christmas' project because between Laura and Barb I've an entire box of christmas fabric, omg talk about eye catching designs..can't wait to continue my project...

Laura's package included a Christmas ornament made by Zachary..ahhh, touched my heart!! Another apology will be given today, was so overwhelmed by box after box that was given to me that I didn't give all of them their due..this morning, seeing it's early I'll take all the boxes downstairs and view their content, a lot of wows to be given..

Think that is why I'm up and tummy churning, overwhelmed by it all...

Included as well were Christmas block swap blocks from Laura, Barb, quilting books from Mittsy, 5" charms from Thea along with cake and Barb put a few fresh garlic in her purse and smuggled them across the border for me..

As though that was not enough Barb had my name in the 'mug' swap ..talk about a swap box, what ever happened to just the box, not our Barb, it was so full of treats, many homemade..

Speaking of homemade, wow and double wow, wait u til you see the purse/bag that Dianne me..then she filled it with goodies..

Then yet another decorative box, pj's..she had my name for the swap,z first time ever I got the 1st delivery of a swap and hand delivered at that..

My tummy is tipsy turvy right now just thinking of all I received, you know it's like Christmas morning when you are a child, Santa brought you everything you wanted and more and you sit not knowing what to play ad admire first?

I've got bacon and home fries cooking at the moment, trying to stay as quiet as I can so I don't wake anyone!

Will bring all my boxes downstairs shortly, ohh and ahh and take photo's!

So back to our afternoon,

After chatting for a few hours we had spaghetti and as I said did not burn it Lol. Then off for a run into Midland, Penetanguishene and Balm Beach.

So a full day for Barb and Norm..got hugs sent by Thea and Dianne..so far I believe their visiting with DG friends has been all they had hoped with and more.

Oops better go check my breakfast cooking..

Girls are coming over for their painting class about 8:30 this morning and we'll break around 12:30 and BBQ. Ann wasn't home last night when we dropped in so Barb will get to meet her along with some other friends...sooo full day ahead...now having met Norm I see how he'd be ok with no other men around, as long as he sees Barb is happy he's happy...as you can see he's charmed me and also as you can see I'm back being a chatty Cathy. Lol

For you young ones, Chatty Cathy was the 1st talking doll (bit of history)

Want to go back and read posts, might not respond all at once, much to do before everyone gets here, I have to have veggie trays done so I can play with the girls

Mary, aww how terrible that you were robbed of some of your possessions.. Some such as your saved info is so ethnic that can't be replaced or a lot of hassles in doing so..not a nice feeling knowing you've been targeted..which vehicle? Had you purchased a new vehicle, know you were looking? Sending hugs, may today be a sunshine day for you....

I often do same, leave purse and valuables in car hoping they'll be saber than my carrying, h%^l I even leave my keys in the ignition for safe keeping. Lol..one of these days I'll not be laughing..

Soon be daybreak, house is so quiet, only dropped a frying pan and heard boom but didn't wake anyone so that!s good.

Stopped mid post and made my veggie tray so that is out of the way..just base coated sides of Barb's sleighs so they are ready..oops forgot to tell her to bring crafting clothes because it's messy..must go see what I can find..

Morning everyone! Another fall type morning here in Verona.

Trying decide whether to go back to bed for a bit and sleep for an hour or just stay up and tough it out. Was up most of the night with my babe - he really was in distress last night. I am positive the next time they check him out thoroughly they will find this *&^^$ disease has moved on to include his stomache. My heart just aches for the poor guy.

Good morning everyone,
Thank you all so much for your kind words in regards of my cousin’s passing. I spend most of the morning on the phone with family back home and we are all still in shock that he is gone. The funeral will be on Friday and no neither I nor my sister will fly home to attend. We will light candles and say our prayers and goodbyes from here. DH and I were supposed to fly home in October for my brother’s 60th Birthday but we have an unexpected Bathroom renovation (tiles broke in the shower) and there goes our money for the flights!
The afternoon I spend reflecting and working in the vegetable garden and cooking some comfort food for supper.

I am so happy Dianne that it all worked out that you, Barb and Norm were able to have breakfast together!! Aren`t they the sweetest couple ever, we could have just stayed there and talked forever…I am soooooooo jealous of Betty because she has them longer…lol
Stormy is just awesome Dianne, it is amazing how animals can feel when you need them, sometimes I think they are more in touch of how we feel then some humans around us. I am so sorry Dianne to hear that Warren is in so much pain and barely eating…my heart goes out to you both. I am praying for strength for you both for whatever lays ahead. Please know that if you need help or maybe just a shoulder to lean on, we are only 2 hours away from you.

Mary that is just awful that someone would break into your car and steal your belongings!!! Better get those door locks changed asap!!! Big Hugsssss for you.
Mary I would love to read “Whirligig”. I must admit when I first read that word I had NO clue of the meaning or what a whirligig was…lol
Maybe once Susan or Debbie read the book they could pass it on to me.

Chrissy I am so glad that Dave got that job!! Hopefully it will give you both a chance to reevaluate your marriage and hopefully reignite the flames of passion, love and friendship. Big hugsssssss for you too.

You know yesterday when I was in the garden I got this idea…how about you fly to Ottawa, stay a few days with us….then we hop down to visit Dianne…thennnnn we all hop in the car…cross the border and drive to Lake Placid where we could meet up with Barb, Norm and Debbie!!!!

Oh Mary, what a traumatic and horrifying experience!! Not sure if i should say but, I just don't know which is worse, watching our loved ones suffer or getting the Call, have had many of the call and have watched many a loved one suffer, I guess, all we could do is pray and enjoy each precious day we are given. It's our gift to behold...

And Now...Betty,I am so giggling at your excitement!! What a wonderful way to awake...Sounds like a wonderful Hands on Day is going to happen and, hands on the hips, I am so jealous!!
