Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Visit/chat with friends

Lexington Park, MD

No camping this weekend.
Kids back in soccer so there are practices and games which leaves Monday and Sunday only free days.
DH taking kids fishing me working on quilt and laundry.
Went to eye Dr. and guess who will be wearing bi-focals now.
Yep me. Thankful no other problems though.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That's probably all the eye straining sewing...someone will have to rest her eyes for a bit! The kids must get so excited when catching fish..great entertaining the little ones and giving mom a break!

Yikes, Greg must need mommy time, pretty bad when he's got nothing better to do than take mom on a ride on the Spider..loads of fun, if it's wasn't worth about $30,000 I'd have me one. Lol

Took photo's will post on my next break.

He all but missed me, I just got in from town and he pulled in..managed to put groceries away and off we went!

Had coffee in town with old friends of Roger and I, Bob and Barb..if youve been around the thread l g enough you know he's the one that has complete conversations with himself while in the room with you..quite the character.. He's also the one who is quite wealthy but lives like a pauper ... He's quite the guy and I always enjoy my visits with them!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning.
Thanks for coffee Laura.

Oh my sounds like your school year and running has begun.
LOL, ours too...

Got to say, I think Breenie is more excited then she is letting on about going to College!! She had a meeting and greeting with the incoming Frosh the other day.
Saw a bunch of kids she knows..and what is real nice is She and a long time friend went to the event together...I was kind of surprised so many kids are attending the local college, but Also glad, She starts school on Monday, taking on 4 classes!!

Jake has been going to football practice everyday. He and Dad are at the orientation breakfast this morning. Then they are off to get Sports stuff, new kleets, gloves and other protective wear...He, also starts school next week. Already has all his stuff together.

Julia is doing ok, They sent her home on Tues...She and Alissa went to their friends resting place and, it hit home that he is gone...She was visablly upset, so they suggested she go home. She's better today.

Steve, Although returned to work, has been all over the spectrum. From closing the company to placing an add...He is finishing up this job next week. Actually right on time if the weather stays nice. In meantime working on Brian/Brittany's house, which has been difficult. But, he is hoping to stay on target with it.
...We have decided it's way past do that he takes a vacation! Since Italy he has been going non stop on variety of projects. So we will be going North, probably the week of Labor Day...Going back to nature and just spending good quality time clearing the head. We have a time share in Eagle River Wisconsin, so will be visiting my family as well as doing some Nature seeing, He needs this really bad.

As for me, just been working on getting my house back in order, lol...I did take the full two weeks off from everything, It was pretty wonderful...Then I picked up a book to sort of fill in the down time, Nice to get lost in a story. I tried to write, but all i did was stare at my pencil and paper, lol...It has been a very long week.
We had a fire last night. And we will have a fire next Saturday. Steve is going to be inviting people after the Services. That's on the 27th...
Meantime, Brittany went home to Michigan to be with her family...They will be back on Friday. So Steve and one of his workers will do as much as possible while she is gone...
Oh, I got my new vehicle!! It's the same car but an upgrade!! Got a great deal, and OHWAH, it's fully loaded!!!

It's been raining buckets here! Finally letting up...But I think it's a good day to work on sewing project, lol besides all my house stuff is done, woohooo.

Betty, sounds like you are busy bee...lol, what else is new? OMG, so looking forward to seeing What you and Barb/Norm's Christmas project come out!! Sounds like a great time is going to be had!! Liz and i spent 2/3 days working on your pot people..(OMG, had to look how to spell people up!!) ROFLOL, guess I need to return to bed, or have another cup of coffee...Anyways, It will be so much fun for you to work together!!

Mary, Sweetie, so sorry you are having issues. i hope things will get straightened out, MEN!

Bev, was so glad to see your cast was removed, and also to see you and Scotty are better...

Linda Kay, I can't remember if i posted about your ceiling!! Bummer it happened, guess i should have only done a small sideways Raindance, lol...

Can't remember who got a tattoo...Will have to backtrack.

Well, Thea, Barb/Norm, Dianne and Betty, hope that your visits are wonderful..

Thank you Thunder Betty and Barb for your prayers and much welcomed ArmWraps!!

Thunder, i enjoyed talking with you and Lemon!! Did i tell you, I think Skittles said Thank you!!

I was so glad to see Shirley post too...

I hope Dianne and Warren are doing well...And you get to visit.

OK, well Ihave to go wipe up the rain water, lol left door open and yikes, floors' all wet!! Did i say it was slowing? not, still steady fall.

Enjoy the day everyone.
Judy

Glenview, IL

OMG, Forgot to say, I was so sorry to hear about Stacey!! I sure hope the clots are able to be thinned. prayers being said for Both She and Janice.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, so nice to read your post, was worried about you all..Think you are sending the rain my way, rumbling out there..wanted to paint outside of basement entrance door but think I'd best not do it..could go out with the trimmer though..told that to Greg and he went on/on and on about my back and how can I complain one minute and then take on heavy duties..kids..want one??? no got to keep him he's my boy..lol

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

I imagine Judy that Steve is overwhelmed..trying to continue on every day like nothing happened, going over to help made sure things are ok for Brittany and dealing with grief..please give him a hug for me!

The kids are settling in nicely, soon you'll be an empty nester than you'll have plenty of time to write..maybe just make note of ideas and feelings...that being said, best time to write is when heart is paining.

Thanks for the reminder must get a card out for both Stacey and Janice..lots on their plate as well!

Here's the old mamma, asking Greg how much and where can I buy one..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Eagle River, Judy think I've been there for the snowmobile races...if memory serves me right the championships were help and probably still are held there..

After the 2 weeks you had Judy, you should be taking afternoon naps every day..

Nothing major planned for Barb and crafts, she didn't do the Victorian Santa..velvet dressed one with long beard and I've a kit left over, knew it would come in handy so that's on the agenda and then Victorian Sleigh..you know how it's just as easy to do 4 as one and I have thanks to Darlene 4 cut out..blue/beige/maroon/green robe, think she'll like that..floorcloth cut and primed, a 3d butterfly so if we don't find time to do them all, she can take the kits home with her.. might even get Norm painting..lol

I'm anxious to see Noah, it's been about 5 weeks since he's been in Meaford at his other grandma/grandpa and working for his uncle..I understand he bought one of the newer telephones and is thrilled with some of his earnings..of course had he not lost a brand new one only 2 days after it was purchased he'd have more money in his pocket..lol..he's a spender..so unlike Kyle..

Greg's on his way to pick him up in Meaford so likely won't be home until l ate..just maybe he'll come and visit grandma in the a.m. With Kyle being away it's felt like I've been deserted..maybe that is why Greg's been hanging out with me..lol..usually every night or second night Kyle is here gabbing away..be nice to have them back in school!

Greg has so many things on the go, guess he's got some of his mom's blood, that you can see the Foxy Lady all shrunk wrapped and didn't get to see water this year..same as my little travel trailer..still sitting pretty..
Lots of plans then within a short span of time the spring/summer/fall is all behind us..wish it weren't so!

Where did you all go??

Lazy day here, since my going out riding with
Greg I've been laying on the chesterfield, not productive but enjoyable!

Feel badly for neighbors, it's their annual BBQ, must be about 60 out to enjoy the evening and the storm is rolling through again..Sailor is having a problem settling down..just had a warning come over my iPad

Rainfall Warning
Issued at Saturday, 20 August, 2011 6:00 PM

Local rainfall of 50 to 75 mm this evening. Slow moving thunderstorms are east of Lake Huron and moving east. These thunderstorms are expected to produce significant rain amounts. Local amounts of 50 to 75 mm in about 3 hours or less are possible.

What boomers we are having! Dianne, Thea hope it passes you by!
Let's hope Barb and Norm also miss it

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Good evening all !!!
I am sooooo excited and wired...one more sleep!!!

I went fabric shopping today so I could give Barb her charms when we meet. 4 fabric stores later and I finally had all my fall fabrics!!
Had a wonderful early supper with DH at Moxies, got home and started to iron fabric and cut squares, packed all the things together and now I am ready for bed!!! lol

Judy so sorry that you and your family had so much heartache the last few weeks. Your get-away with your DH sounds wonderful...Mother Nature is always the best medicine...time to reflect and gather strength and time to heal. Big Hugs for you special Lady.

OMG Betty you rock that Bike!!! Better save those pennies and get yourself one!! Uhmmm and thennnn you drive here and pick me up and we go touring!!! lol I still have all my leather gear from back in the day...tried it on a few years ago and OMG it shrunk!!! I have NO clue how the devil I ever fit in there...lol

The weather for tomorrow doesn`t look too promising for Kingston and Gananoque...19C and raining in the morning and 21C and cloudy in the afternoon...well at least we won`t be melting!! and like my DM always used to say..."Any Idiot can travel in nice weather...it takes special people that can enjoy and travel in bad weather"lol
We will make the best of it and just enjoy each others company.

Dianne...I really hope we can meet tomorrow but also understand if we can`t. My thoughts and prayers are with you both and of course sending you lots of love and hugs.

Ohhhh Betty before I forget...I will be sending a Zucchini Double Chocolade Cake with Barb for you 3 to enjoy. Hopefully I won`t forget it tomorrow morning...lol
We will be leaving here around 7am have some Timmie Breakfast and meet up with Barb at 9am at the Skydeck (right at the border USA/Canada). http://www.1000islandsskydeck.com/home.php

Better get going DH wants to watch a movie...love and hugs to all and sweet dreams.
Will post pictures tomorrow night.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg, zucchini chocolate cake, you are spoiling us Thea..hope you Dave better luck than I at Timmies...stopped at three this morning, coolant get near them either inside or drive through.

I would imagine the tour boat has a roof and you'll enjoy. When at Judy's we did boat tour, started to rain heavily and by the time we finished it was sunshine! Hope it's that way tomorrow, regardless , I'm sure it will be a sunshine day with as soon as you all see each other!

I find this all too exciting..praying that Dianne can make it!

We must wash clothing in same washing machine as a lot of mine shrunk as well.

Enjoy the movie, don't stay up too late, you've a big day ahead of you!

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Thea - OMG - I have that same problem... clothes shrinking. I think it must be my closet.

Agree with Thea, Betty... YOU TOTALLY ROCK that bike.. or spaceship...or whatever that is... it is really Cool ! I like the travel trailer better though because a better chance of you getting to Louisiana with it LOL......
Betty - I almost got an IPAD for my bday but told DH to wait. Didn't want him to spend $800 because I was only spending $200 on his pressie.... Wow hindsight...if I knew how much he would screw up lately... maybe just take him up on it LOL... but my question was.... do you have a Weather Alert APP ? re: your thunder storm warning.

Judy - So glad to have the update... have been worried about you gal. YES Vacation is what you need. Nature is the best stress reliever.... I need one too.... LOL.... I'll just drop in.... Glad the kids are getting situated etc. I feel the same way as we are in the same boat many times with our Teen/slash/Young Adults. DS Seems to like community college too...

Laura - Bifocals eh! I had them from age 2-12 ...then need them again but could not get used to them. I swear my eyesight went down hill 6 years ago right when I turned 40.... so how old are you ? 40?

Betty - Yes - a major change coming about... I don't usually like change but you are right... this may help my stress level MUCH. I can say my kitchen is clean right now and that is usually not the case.... I had a talk with DS today about how the house may be cleaner now and I appreciate his help. He is not usually the problem. (in my eyes, Dh thinks differently)

Dh should come home tomorrow. DSD got settled in her dorm room today 3-4 hours away.

Went to the Plant Sale for our Rec center... prices seemed very good but cash only and with it being Fall I didn't buy much but plan to go back in April for their Spring sale... They had a HUGE Plumeria I walked under it... was only $35!
Bev - The Daylily guy talked my ear off... very knowledgable and LOVES the dayliles ...hybridizes them ...he told me Lee Pickles was a hybridizer and must be one named after him...but they didn't have one there. I bought two... he gave me a deal 2 for $10 (is that a 'deal' Bev?) but I'll have to go outside with a flashlight can't remember the names.....

I also bought a "Plum Crazy" Hardy Hibby....but thought of you Deb and Crissy because I saw yours there Kopper King, and another... Confederate rose hibiscus.... very hard decision....

I'll pop back in a bit.... ((HUGS))
Mary

Verona, ON

Fierce T and L here right now Betty and tomorrow has the same forecasted. Drats for Thea, Barb and Norm's cruise - if it is not too heavy of a rain the cruise might just go ahead.
Need to close down this last boomer shook the house and lit up this room. Sorry Mary I was all ready to coax you into having a glass of wine and use your hot tub. My bones need it, but being the spry chicken you are you surely don't but the relax will soothe your soul.

Baton Rouge, LA

Dianne - I'm ready to light up the hot tub and have a glass of wine ready for you... Hope the T&L Settle down and you are able to settle in and visit for a bit....
Not a spry chicken at all...could sure use the hot tub... ribs are still hurting.....and don't tell but I do have a little glass of Sunset Blush right now... Hope to "see" you on here soon.... Many hugs for you and for Warren.
I'll remain positive that the Barb /Thea visit will be awesome regardless of weather.. wish I were there with you all....

Debbie - if you have to head out then please take me with you if you go on our morning walk ! (((HUGS))))

Baton Rouge, LA

OOPS said Deb meant Dianne.....

But Deb on my mind too... so ((HUGS)) Deb and let's hear how your day was too.....

Lyndonville, NY

I'm here...wide awake and can't shut my mind down.

The boys are watching Tangled...Disney film, and eating me out of house and home.

My day was...interesting. Really need that hole dug. Thankfully he is on call this weekend and has to go into work now in the morning as something broke.

Right now my mind is on a beach somewhere....in FLorida....and dreaming.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol Tangled is Such a funny movie!
mmmmmmmm Georgia beaches are nice too - Cumberland Island Beach is one I visited - NO commercialism ie: no vending machines, etc and you can bring a picnic lunch, but you Must clean up. It's the longest natural beach in the US and you can only get there by ferry, or your own boat. No helicopters, etc. Swamp on north side, with wild horses, so you enter the island on the west side, and walk across to the east side beach. On the west side there's boat launches, etc. The only people that live on the Island are the caretakers. It used to be owned by a plantation family (and the ruins are still there) who built another plantation on the Island for their daughter and her husband (the ruins are worse and it's roped off so no one goes in). I saw wild turkeys, and oh, the Magnolia Trees and Spanish Moss..... what a beautiful, peaceful place!! Can you tell I wanna go back there?!?!
It's across from St. Mary's, Georgia.

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Susan, that sounds so beautiful! Is it on the Gulf side? And to see the wild horses, must be so beautiful.

The boys are having a blast watching this....they like the lizard and the horse. lol

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

It is beautiful. It's off the east coast of Georgia.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Here's a link to Cumberland Island, Georgia

Verona, ON

I'll be waiting for you in the early am for our walk Mary. Some wild turkeys have moved into 1 of the fields and are quite a sight to see. There were maybe 40 of them yesterday morning. Wanna come Deb?I know you are not sleeping like me, so it would be great to have 2 sleep deprieved bodies and Mary letting off a little steam in the woods . Nice thing about this is no one is there to judge each other. Just lay it out on that table and free it from your mind. That sometimes helps me from perseverating on things that tick me off. AND Debbie, sweetie I have a HUGE refrigerator box this week!!! The guy at the dump asked me yesterday what I did with the large appliance boxes I take home. I just smiled and said 'oh they are multipurpose!" give him a grin and drive off.
Love Greg's new toy Betty. We had actually talked about getting 1 before DH go so sick.Think it is an excellent idea especially since so made drivers are reaching "that age" which a more comfortable ride would be welcome.
~~~~~~~~~ to everybody
Betty love the ride ..
Running to school there is a clean-up going on and volunteers are needed.
Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)
Good morning!!
We are ready to head out the door to meet Barb and Dianne!!
Sleep was NOT restful because we had a huge Thunderstorm at 2am that woke me up and it just kept going and going shaking the house. I might need a mini nap on the way there...lol
Have a great day
Love and Hugs Thea
Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)
Yes Mary, the daylily LP is named after the hybridizer LP. You got a good deal if you got at least 2 fans of each. Still no rain here since June just sprinkles. I will lose some but oh well. Hugas to all. BEV
Morning all
Debbie/Dianne, sorry about your not sleeping! Makes for a long night and during these times mind runs amuck! guess the storm brought moved your way, sorry...truly I am.
Sky is dark yet this morning, am hoping I get 1 hour od no rain so I can take out the weeded,,just wasn't up to it yesterday, now watch it rain all day.
Very damp, dehumidifier is working overtime
Girls, your island sounds like a piece of heaven. Now if we could find a dg member who lived there and convince her/him to have a DG Reunion we would have it made!
Debbie, remember my boys when they were that age and had company over, there would be nothing left in the refrigerator, didn't have to worry about leftovers that is for sure. Sorry to hear Paul 's hole is getting deeper and deeper!
Dianne, I see wild turkeys on the way to work (not the turkeys, me) lol until the week of Thansgiving and then they go into bidding and the ones that don't wear signs saying eat 'beef'!
Street is quiet this morning, parties on on my right and across the street, was invited but my back wouldn't permit. Soon the church goers will be out and then it will not look like a deserted town.
Mary, do put the iPad. On your Christmas list though, sure do love mine! Makes the world available at your fingertips..for some that would not be good, for me it's a plus.
Oops some rumbling going on, won't send it your way
The a, if you are napping on your journey then you must have quite the ride to meet up with Norm and Barb..oooh don't forget the cake..mouth watering this morning as I've no sweets in the house and do need something..
Laura, thanks for the coffee and remember you back, make your dutues the light chores..wouldn't want to be in pain for your upcoming trip!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Omg Bev, thought you had days of rain.. With you not being as mobile as you should have it must have been difficult to water with a hose..sprinkler might have helped.. They are your babies!
LindaKay, where are you? Missing you...
So most of us are up and at it and have plans for the day..hope you have fun! For those who are playing lazy, like me, feet up and enjoy..maybe a good book? Sunday ride?
Lyndonville, NY
Dianne you know I would be there...right beside you both! Maybe thats where I was in my dreams last night.
We have rain this morning, DH had to ride the motorcycle into work at 4:30....in the rain. Wish I could say I felt bad about it. Dianne, save that box! lol
Victoria Harbour, ON
LOL you are just too cute Debbie...
So today you have a quiet day planned?
Imagine, still in my jammies, raining and all the work I wanted to do is outside so movies it shall be
Sure hope the get together isn't too rained out!
Lyndonville, NY
No not a quiet day today. I have a boat load to do. Yesterday, stripped beds, washed everything...including pillows. Today doing some more of that, plus have odds and ends to organize. Need to mop a couple floors also.
This week will be chaos as Nate works every day. Down to one car, and also tied up with DH's surgery and he will be starting PT also by end of week. Just trying to schedule it all out. lol
Victoria Harbour, ON
That is a full plate..think I asked but will ask again, will Paul be in hospital for few days and how many weeks do they suggest not working.
What kind of pillows do you have that you wash?
Think in another hour or so it will be sunshine, sure is trying to...playing at cleaning the craft room but found I was moving something from A to a B location so just going to leave things as they are..
Kind of cool still being in p.j.'s, lordy if Greg came over and seen that I was moping about he' d have me in emerge. Lol. But am on my halls right?
Lyndonville, NY
Paul will be coming home same day, just as I did. They are cleaning out his elbow joint, removing a bone spur and arthritus. I am not sure how long he will be out of work. We need to get his car fixed also....and with the surgery and not working..thats going to be fun to handle also. We will.
I have feather pillows. They were my Moms. I wash them on gentle and fluffy dry for what seems like hours....and they wash up nicely. I just can't part with them, but they are in very good shape.
Nasty storms moving in here....very dark out like 9:00 at night. THunder in the distance, may have to shut down.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
I am here Betty. I still have DIL here with Granddaughter. They will be leaving in about an hour or so!
Verona, ON
Oh no! It is just teeming here I am afraid the cruise Thea, Barb and Norm were going to go on will be cancelled. Dang!
The box is stored away for our use Debbie - it will not be put out into recycle by mistake.
Dianne
Victoria Harbour, ON
Dianne, they were meeting early morning so perhaps they went on first tour of the day and hit it lucky, can only hope right? I'm sure regardless of the weather they'll still enjoy..most boats are prepared for inclement weather i.e. roof.. but if winds are high they just might be cancelled..
Perhaps Thea prepared an alternate activite...anxious to see Thea post.
Glenview, IL
Hi...
It's a real pretty day out today...
Steve's been busy with paperwork, all day yesterday and so today I've been busy with my turn of the paper, lol. But i just finished so now i am free to play!
OH my sure hope Thea and Barb/Norm have a great visit. Bummer if the cruise was cancelled, but keeping fingers crossed the weather cleared for them.
Wow, Debbie, you have been super busy!! Nice you have the feathered pillows. Steve still has one of his grandmas, she too, hand made them. About a year ago I placed a new cover on it, the original still there but was starting to loose feathers...LOL, he takes the pillow everywhere we spend the night, so sweet.
LOL, Betty placing things from a to b! I've done that so many times and sometime they just get put in a nice neat stack!
Will be excited to see how the visit went...
Linda Kay, I hope your visit with DIL and GD went well. how old is the GD?
Well, I am being lazy too...just finished up the 3rd story of 4. Nice, nice stories...Mil gave me these 2 short novel books.
With the weather being so nice, I am getting ready to go yank a few weeds!
OMG, Betty!! You look Awesome on the Motorcycle! Wow, what a machine too!
oop got to go momentarily, Enjoy the day all.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Sunshine short lived, storm mass must be hovering right onto of Victoria Harbour! If I keep these jammies on much linger there will be no need to get dressed!
Judy I'm sure there will be a tremendous amount of paperwork to get done..guess there was a partnership contract that will have to be resolved..these things can but hopefully not, turn nasty even in the best of circumstances.
You will both be ready for your vacation. The children won't be able to go though will they? Difficult when some have jobs besides you need someone to tend to skittles. The a to band back to a is only in the craft room, everyone who paints here leaves their projects, brushes, craft bags etc....multiply that by sometimes 10 and then add in my projects and there you go!
LindaKay, your grandchildren are young, still fun to play with..routine hits home in a few weeks .. Feel badly that my 4 have either been away working or camping, just gottofind a few days to do something with them, youngest Caleb turns 12 Tuesday. No more babies!! Boohoo
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
Hi - got some terrific news from a friend - they're lending us their 21 ft Motorhome for next weekend! So, it won't be too cold in the am when we wake up! And, no problem using it if it rains lol
These are some church friends of ours. They've lent it to their grandson & his wife & 2 girls. They'll bring it back on Thursday afternoon, Bob will get familiar with it, and we take off for camping on the Friday morning!! whooooo hoo! I've never camped in a motorhome before! Bob's driven a bus up to 40ft long, so this will be a cinch for him.
Victoria Harbour, ON
You'll absolutely love it Susan, will spoil you though! Spent about 10 winters in Florida in ours, was same as being at home with all conveniences..only drawback, GAS.. But if you are not driving far you'll be in seventh heaven..how nice of them..you truly are blessed with good friends..storm seems to have passed us by, warning still on but it's blue sky up above..
Nice knowing I'll be on holidays when the nice weather arrives with Barb and Norm...
Now where is Thea with news of the day?? Hurry hurry Thea...
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
Hello everyone from beautiful Kingston Ontario CANADA!!!! I am on the laptop and need to share time with Norm so I won't be here too long. I have had the most wonderful two days that one could possibly imagine and now I get to have some More. Norm and I stopped and had lunch yesterday with Mittsy and her husband Jack. It was just wonderful and so relaxing. They took us to a sweet restaurant that was on the water. It was sooooo nice. They live on Oneida Lake in New York and it is so pretty there. I got to meet her Mom. What a lovely lady. I had made her a couple of placemats and she makes little crocheted rugs and gifted me with two of them. I can't wait to see how they will look at home.
Today we were so worried about the weather. We had stayed IN Watertown NY last night and went to bed praying for decent weather. Weeellllll, the dear Lord had other plans but let me tell you what He did for us. It sprinkled/rained/sprinkled until we met Thea and Bernie at the Skydeck just beyond the Canadian/US border. As they pulled into the parking lot the rain let up for a few minutes - just long enough for the four of us to shake hands with each other and for THEA and I to exchange to the most wonderful of hugs. I must tell you, it was like meeting family after a long absence. The four of us needed more coffee and a chance to chat so off we went to TIM HORTON'S!!!!!!! ( I finally got there Betty!!) Wonderful coffee. We sat and chatted while it POURED outside. Finally, Thea called the boatline and they said they were sailing so off we went. As we walked to the waiting area it was still raining. As we waited to board is settled down to just sprinkling. We got on board and after about 20 minutes or so, the rain stopped!!!! This was a 2.5 hour cruise and was so much fun and so interesting. It rained briefly at about the two hour mark and by the time we got back to the dock, it had stopped again.....
I know Thea wants to post about our day also so I'm going to stop at this point. I have taken pictures and more pictures and Thea has too. I can't post them until I get to Betty's but I'm hoping Thea will.
I must let Norm have his turn so I'm off for now. I'll be back tomorrow!!!!
PS Thea gives and sends to all of you the most wonderful loving hugs!!!!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Ohhhh now I can have an early night, vowed I would not go to bed until I heard from either you Barb or Thea! Now I can rest easy..ohhh Timmy's, now you are being baptized Canadian.
Sounds as though the weather cooperated and glad that you enjoyed the boat tour..
Always amazes me when I meet dg friends, although we've never met it's like we've known each other all of our lives..
Sleep well my friend, one sleep and you are in my neck of the woods....can't come quick enough!!
Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)
Just made it home!! Wonderful wonderful day spend with Barb and Norm.
Horrible ride home through thunderstorms and buckets of rain...windshield wipers were on full blast until about 10 km from home. More storms to come through out the night.
OMG Barb and Norm are just amazing people...I wish I could have stayed with them longer...like Barb said...just like family...and I MISS THEM!!!
I will write tomorrow more and post pictures...I am just bushed...had a few anxiety spells while driving (well DH was driving and he is an excellent driver)but because of 0 visibily.
Love and many hugssssss
Thea
