central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Went down to see my great niece, tomorrow is garden day should be another A+ day!!!

So beautiful! If every summer day was like this we would all be thrilled.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

today was a drag - on vaca last week in maine and had to work today - looked ok outside

Thomaston, CT

Hope you had fun in Maine!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

yes we did marilyn:)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

glad you had a nice trip

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

71°, H 54%

Pleasant day today weather-wise and everything else-wise. Not really what I would define a a summer day, but rather an 'end of season day'. Summers have become too hot and rather uncomfortable for my taste, as I dont really care for extremes and we've had plenty of extremes here this summer with the excessively high temps and humidity.
- Bottom line: Glad to see this summer end. (as in finis, gone, adios, arrivederci, etc etc.. lol!)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

You're right, WC. Almost like what a good summer would be for those down south but too hot and too humid for many of us.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, down south this summer would have been a blessing, and the westerners scoff at our humidity. 90° out west is like our 80°!
- but here, ..."forget about it! " - it's just plain hot & humid & nasty out there! lol!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

FINALLY....cool enough and low humidty=windows open

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

chilly 56 now.. woke up with goosebumps.. LOL... going to 77!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's 55 now...refreshing. :) High of 74 with mostly sunshine today. I see the oral surgeon today, providing they don't cancel again. :(

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

best of luck babe!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

70°, wind from the NW @ 7 mph, H 56%, sunny

Going up to 79° here, with plenty of sun and low humidity today.
Down to 60° tonight under clear skies.

- Good luck Pixie!

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

Good morning, everyone.

I have to say it - it is salubrious in WNY today. Currently 66 degrees heading for the low 70's with bright sunshine and low humidity. So nice.

Have a blessed and terrific Tuesday, friends. ☺

-Dave

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

We just had an earthquake here.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I was just about to write to you!!! At 1:54 the whole house shook and it was for at least a minute but felt much longer!

Yahoo has reports from VA to PA to Long Island and Brooklyn.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Measured 5.8 on the Victor scale, - ... no, ...scratch that, the Richter scale! (lol)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- Number changed, make that 5.9.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

That was too scary! Glad I wasn't outside under the big old pines when it happened.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

HOLY MOLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whole house shaking....lights swinging....took me a few seconds to figure out what that was..
That was the weirdest feeling EVER

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Under tree or in a building not good....out in the open better.....

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I know that! I had been outside but I was hot in the sun so I came in for a break - what a break! At first I really thought the sun made me that dizzy but the whole computer was moving - everything was moving.

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

We felt it here in WNY. Just a little rumble.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Expect aftershocks of course...
DW's skyscraper evacuated in lower Manhattan, she says 1000's outside. Going to be a bad commute tonight. Can only reach her by text, voice inoperative due to heavy traffic, she's ok. Probably they'll have to inspect the buildings and railroad tracks for damage.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

It was definitely weird! I was in the bank and at first just thought I got dizzy, but soon realized that was not the case. At least this time. :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

my friend outside of DC in Va said it was nuts.. some things fell, plates rattled... if what we felt was nothing compared to what she did.. holy cow!!!.. I know it stopped me in my tracks

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I thought an unseen, invisible entity was shaking my chair just for fun.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Good thing it didn't happen at cocktail time.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh my gosh.....this is TOO funny....hubby and biz partner were talking about natural disasters, biz partner says hurricane gonna hit but would be more cworried about a tornado- hubby says eh, not me I'm more concerned about the earthquake that's gonna hit you know we are on a fault line...sure enough a few minutes later....hubby ran out and bought some lottery tickets
and when it hit...he was in the bathroom at a supply house, he thought we was having a stroke because he kept missing the urinal!!!

Mid-Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5b)

Absolutely nothing here. Newspaper says VA had an earthquake and capitol was evacuated. Guess it was an advantage to be a bit north today.

The weather, on the other hand, is beautiful. So I finally get outside and the biting flies are everywhere! I tried every natural remedy I could find and finally resorted to deet! Ugh. I have lots of little holes all over. How come I can't ever enjoy being outside anymore?
