I am enjoying the pics of dogs in clothes. All way too cute, and judging by Hop-ie's tongue, they know it too. We put a harlequin collar on Cliffie for Halloween every year because that's what we know he will be proud to wear. We have a costume party for all the children in the piano studio where one daughter studies. It starts with little two year olds playing "Hot cross buns" and now that she'll be a senior, hers will be the last. What is really funny is that Cliffie stands up when she is ready to take a bow, and he does his long stretch in front of the audience perfectly timed with her. If she's explaining her piece he muggs at the audience. Then at the end when we take pictures, he makes sure he is in front smiling at the camera .People are pretty good natured about our doggie music lover. He also likes to stick his head into their empty coats sleeves but no one is offended if I can't stop him in time.

Cliffie sounds like a funny guy!
It is funny, though embarrassing, when he gets his head stuck inside someones coat while they are listening to the kids play piano.
Awww. I'd love to have a puppy like those, too.
Looks like dog heaven. All these at the dog show?
nice pics!!!... glad to see I am not the only yorkie owner to cut them short... the one thing I can not do is put a bow in there hair.. Michele will beat me up!
Cool dogs!
Fun way to spend the day....will try to get to a big conformation show in Goshen in Sept.
Check out the cocker spaniels RD. I miss ours.
Gorgeous pups!! I'd never make it out w/out a pup. :(
I will, Lucy....I'm also checking out PBGVs....that might be my next dog......
CS are what I always had as a kid growing up, I too miss them.
BA, I don't blame your dog for wanting to get out and smell new smells, etc. And a McD's burger is really tempting. I remember that British dog expert you mentioned. Her last name I'm pretty sure wasn't Thompson, but I can't recall it now. I had read a couple of her books.
My dogs definitely know what "go for a walk" and "go for a ride" means.
Fun pics of the dogs at the show. Looks like it was great fun. I love the shot of the 2 squinting white dogs with the hot pink toe nails. Neat!

I bought a thundershirt for Hope and her constant barking.. only yelled at her once to be quiet.. and not 20.. so far so good
Barbara's last name was Woodhouse...."walkies" was her code word! I was wondering if those thunder shirts worked....needed one myself the other night!
Yes! Thank you...she had a lot of good ideas, from decades of experience.
In a sing-song voice: "Walkies !!!"
ok I am not alone.. I give them foodie
:)
every day just say foodie .. and everyone scrambles for the kitchen
I just saw those thundershirts and was wondering how they worked. Is it just like a hug?
Re: Thundershirts http://www.thundershirt.com/?gclid=COXChtvS5qoCFcnc4AoduUZX-A My sister had a dog toy store and sold thundershirts and most often they worked. If it doesn't work for your dog the company will send you your money back. Wren107 is a vocal user of thundershirts. You wrap it snugly around your dog and is has Velcro fasteners and for some reason it lowers the dog's anxiety level.
I don't know about a hug.. but so far so good
Oh, yes, Barbara Woodhouse! That was it! Yes, she did have good advice, and very down to earth and common sense. She trained horses as well. Bit of a horse whisperer.
This was the first I've heard of those thundershirts. Jerry seems to have some anxiety at times, but he's not afraid of thunder. Some things like garbage trucks or other things that make a lot of noise, like vacuum cleaners can frighten him. Patches is pretty calm about most things.
Poor dog losing his 'Dad'. I feel for him.
