How do you know when to pick blueberries? I tried one of mine that looked ripe but was still tart.
lazy.. Chinese
Not sure how you know, usually if mine have a pink tint to them still they are too tart so I wait til they are totally dark blue. I think they coe off easier when they are ripe too.
I made some Stuffed Shells mmm I was craving them because it's been so long since I've run my oven..
Usually they are ripe when the birds beat you to them!
We went to Dave & Busters for dinner and games. My wife has had a lot of work stress recently and an evening there helps her unwind. Very good food and lots of fun games.
there are none here.. but been to one in Ohio.. I like that stuff too.. put me on a pinball game all night.. good to go
I always see commercials for Dave and Busters but I don't think there are any around here!
Went down to the shore today on the way home picked up KFC(grilled)
Longhorns last night (again) with DH, DS, niece from Maryland, niece from PA. , DB, DSIL, niece w/DH & DGS from Southern Maine, DD#2w/DH and her 3 kids. We were 15 strong...to bad my other 3 with their families couldn't of made it...we would of took over the entire diningroom!
That sounds like fun, Pixie! Debi, the berries have to be all blue...if they're tart, that's just the variety....Old Barn Farm has 12 varieties....some are very sweet, some are tart.....
Pixie - did you get pink blueberries this year?
Yank, I picked all the blossoms off so it would concentrate on growing good roots since it was just planted.
Next year i'll let it go. ^_^
Chili dog & coleslaw...
Chicken pot pie w/fresh pea's & brocc from the garden in it. Also put pearl onions and carrots. :)
Baked boneless pork chops with egg noodles and peas in a roasted garlic cream sauce.
Oh, wow, it all sounds yummy. I made a refreshing drink for dessert.....in a blender I put 1/2 a container of honey Greek yogurt, an additional tsp of honey, 1/2 of a banana, 1/2 glass of milk & a bunch of ice cubes....cinnamon on top. It was very tasty.....
Chicken tenderloins coated with flour & fried in olive oil, white rice, along with small red beans in a tomato based sauce.
(Jelly doughnut for dessert ☺!)
Everything sounds yummy
We had penne in alfredo sauce
Cucumber, tomato and anchovy (AGAIN) last night. Uggh!
Grilled steak, squash casserole, green bean salad....love this time of year for the garden! And my son had a bull running around his property the other day....guess he couldv'e had steak from the yard so to speak......
My wonderful wife made lunch today - crab salad on onion rolls with antipasto on the side from our meat market. Very good.
I lifted the garbage can in our utility room about 11:30 this morning and felt a sudden, sharp, stabbing pain in my middle back. I quickly went to sit in my recliner and realized that the whole left side of my body was tingling - from my head down to my toes. Similar to what happened to me in May 2008 that contributed to my now being permanently disabled and unable to ever work again. I have a 30+ year history of managing moderate to severe chronic back pain due to serious genetic spine problems. This is just another chapter in that story.
I just came from an adjustment with my chiropractor. He said a vertebrae in my middle back - either T12 or L1 or both - had again tipped more outward and damaged ligaments and tendons. The treatment is rest, ice, muscle relaxer and enteric coated aspirin on a regular basis for the next few days. No major cooking or preparing meals for me, which is one of my jobs in our family. Looks like some take-out may be in our near future for a while.
I know I will recover from this extra pain and go back down to my normal pain levels of a 5-6. I sure hope my wife does not fire me as the full time dear disabled house husband. No, I think that job is fairly secure for me. ☻☺
Just felt like venting. Hope you are all having a blessed and fantastic Friday, friends.
Ohh man sorry to hear that, I used to lift my garage door for the 1st year I had the house, but I had an automatic opener installed years ago after seeing how impractical is was, (especially in the winter with the snow). - Glad I did...
Pan fried porgy tonight with french fries and plenty of ketchup! Watercress salad on the side.
DW is having leftover roast beef with fresh rice and some red beans I made yesterday.
Praying you feel better soon, Dave.
Homemade egg, sausage mcmuffins. I am exhausted! 3 late nights in a row.
Everyone's dinners sound delicious! That baked pork chop and garlic cream sauce sounds very good! I made a ham potato and cheese casserole. Hopefully it tastes as good as it smells! : )
Yummmmmm!
Double yum! Will say a prayer for you, Dave.....back problems are the worst!
feel better Dave
Went to a Ukranian festival tonight, pierogis, stuffed cabbage, and (DH) sausage an kraut.
Sounds yummy....I noticed my son's cabbage is ready to pick....guess stuffed cabbage will be on the menu! Going out to a Spanish restaurant tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday.....
sending healing thoughts your way, Dave.
Thank you, everyone. Lots of time in my recliner on the ice pack and the muscle relaxer and enteric coated aspirin every 4 hours. A bit loopy but a bit less pain.
My wonderful wife made pork sausages and waffles for lunch. She works 2:00-11:00 today.
We got a new freezer from sears last week so decided to invest in some good quality meats and other foods from a local market called Black Angus. A very good deal and now our new freezer is quite full. Steaks, chops, chicken, burgers, sausages, lots of great stuff. Should last us months and is very good quality. We have gotten tired of the poor quality of Aldi meats and decided it was time for an upgrade. ☺
-Dave
Oh Dave! Take care.
Glad your taking care of yourself Dave!
Made some homemade meatballs and spaghetti with garlic bread.
Pizza night! ☺!
Pixie, that is fantastic!!
Thanks Dave, I have a lovely lady that does cakes for me.....all I can say is, she is a magician!
That cake is totally clever! Amazing! Had burritos tonight.....
AWESOME cake!!!!
Feel better Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
