OMG Crissy, lol, who would see it????
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends
Well, you could put it up real high so it's above your clothes, or you could put it somewhere else so when that special man comes along he can see it LOL!!
Crissy, the men my age want young chicks not a 63 year old, shaking my head NO!!! so that leaves the much older gents and most are blind in one eye and can't see out the other so it would have to be one heck of a 'tatoo'
Well then make it take up your whole boob! In fact, you could completely cover both of them! LOL
Well, I was thinking of a pretty flower, but I was also trying to think of something that would be representative of all her DG friends. Maybe her milemarkers or a map somehow? But that would have to be sooo big, so I would stick with a pretty flower.
Oh did someone say fuzzy navel????I am so there.
Betty beautiful pics of your flowers.
I have some morning glorys I started from seeds just starting to vine and waiting for flowers.
Some of my crepe mrytles have flowers. Not much else.
Have GS all week so busy, busy with 3 kids.
Welcome Thea.
A small Angel tattoo for Betty (because she is an angel to many)...Hmmmm or maybe something that reminds Betty of her Roger :)
bbl I am in the middle of cooking supper and people arround here are near a starving dead!!!
Drats, sitting here in the basement, how could I forget my ipad at work OR did I leave the car unlocked while shopping..won't know till tomorrow..cool down here though..just emptied the dehumidifier..had a/c on, see Cathy went and picked up my mail and dropped it off, think sometimes she changes things on heaters/a/c's, it's ok I just change it back..should give her a call as she cut my lawn Sunday and I've not yet said 'thank you' must also remind her I'm heading to Barrie for Kempenfest..always anxious to see what new things vendors have.
Crissy DO NOT encourage LindaKay, shaking my head, now if our Debbie dropped in seeing as she knows me quite well, wonder what she'd have tatoo'd..you are all just too adorable.
Laura, you'll be glad when summer is over and kids in school and you can get back into a routine..don't know how you do it girl!
Thea, you cook???? lol..how's the weather been today, hot/hot/muggy like here.
Katie, you didn't say if Tony was able to get the belt for the tumbler or if he Maguivered it?
LindaKay, can't you just hear your son if you said he's going to Canada to tatoo a lot of old women (few young ones) ahhh we're young at heart..he'd be giving you the what for
Already after 7pm..was driving and my mind was somewhere else, when all of a sudden I realized the two big chopper bikes on a black truck, there's my boy, how could you miss orange and purple..followed him right to his street, he turned off and I continue as I promised June I would go help her with her computer..must listen to see if he called, am sure he wondered why I didn't follow him completely home.
Think cereal with fruit is in order..ate late so not about to order something at this time of night..
be back later if I don't fall asleep..
Tony couldn't find a belt in town and it's quite cracked so hard to repair. But my friend Saul will be going north to shop for his store in a few days and he will see if he can find one for me. He's one of my best friends and is always will to help - maybe partly because I buy so many chicken legs from him. kb
I would have a yellow rose & butterfly for my Mom.....And TinkerBell sitting on a cresant moon.
BUT until then....I will have two tylenol and that fuzzy navel sounds REALLY good. That is one of my favorite drinks.
Betty, you would be surprised how many older women get tattoo's. I was 46 when I got my first one, I just got my 15th one, and it probably won't be my last one...
Hello To All !
Oh I'm just smiling and laughing with you all... LK - I'm with you on the signposts but agree... that would take too much room. Love Katie's angel idea...
Can your DS tattoo right under my bellybutton : "Object smaller than it appears".... ROFLOL
Crissy - I can just imagine you growing up with PoliceMom... had everyone looking out for you... probably why you are so independent and determined now... and don't take "Stuff" from people...
Deb... LOVE the "Needs Mom" story... yes at that age... even with DSD... when she is more humble or been knocked down she is much easier to live with. Do you suppose both my DSD and your Shane acting out because they are scared a bit of going off to college ? Hm a thought.... Prayers for both "The Child" and for you my dear...
THEA ! Welcome my Friend ! Love your chairs ! I've actually visited Germany once and we had a dear German exchange student friend live practically with us for a year... pretty sunflower too. welcome and jump right in the water is fine....
Waving to Katie too... Laura - well I did not know this until this 'incident' but apparently our Louisiana laws are pretty loose so go figure BUT I do so so agree with you all and LK..... we are their PARENTS... not their friends....
DSD will be 19 in December... and from the website (she showed me) the Louisiana laws are such that we could serve as a private establishment...
BUT I'm still sticking to my guns... My fears... 1) someone gets hurt on the way home... 2) that many young adults drinking so much and the Pool involved... possible injuries there 3) ditto #2 but then messes, drama, and fights that could ensue...
So I'm still against it. We've not discussed... maybe during the short trip this weekend.... you are right... Thunder... I was planning to enjoy this weekend and I shoudl not let anything get in the way of that... I have heard the idea of them all sleeping here but she won't be happy with a few people... so unless they pitch a tent..... LOL....
Thank you all for your support and advice.... Love you all... and you are right... in a few years hopefully wont even remember all this drama...
HUGS...
Mary
PRAYERS for Shirley....
Dianne and Warren.....
((HUGS))
Mary, you can still be liable for contributing to a minor! Just be careful!
Mary, not to throw another "ball" in that mess....you do NOT want them all sleeping there....and with alcohol. You will need to be providing birth control on top of everything else....will be a concern.
My son right now is gone yet again. Hasn't talked to me for 3 days now. As for college, that is in the "can" right now....as we do not have the $300 for housing needed to hold his room. And if we do not get it in soon, the Spring semester will no longer be an option either. Right now, we are thinking he will do on-line courses...and Thursdays DH or myself will drive him the TWO HOURS one way...for his music lessons & class. Our cars are so unpredictable to do this....but will do it if needed.
"The child" did her usual drama at the hospital. Picked a fight in the car on the way out, I didnt' even go in to Cardio with her. (didn't see doctor...just test). But Oncologist I did go in. DD was beyond rude and inconsiderate to everyone. HOWEVER, everything looks good on paper (blood work, prior testing) and as soon as the echo/ekg comes back....she will get the "all clear" to go back in three years.
It has been a LONG day!
LOL DEb... That is so true...... The "Tent" thing was "tonque in cheek" really because are temps are 100+ as a norm... but you are right.... about the birth control thing.
LK - yes - Even if the laws are behind her... that doesn't mean we couldn't be sued for something or another....you are right....
Deb - when do you get the blood work back? Is "The Child" working? I suppose so... I think you mentioned it....
I mean... when the kids are working... they are at least a tad bit more 'bearable'......
Wow - it has been a long week...... I can't tell you all how much I appreciate you all being in my life.... Love our "oldies" and our "Newbies"... I'd be in the looney bin if I couldn't have you all there for me...
Hugs,
Mary
Mary, the blood work is already back. They used the blood draws last month that the Neurologist and Gyno doc took. She went over her last Endocrinology fact sheets, her MRI scans, and all that fun stuff. Only thing we wait on is the Echo/Ekg report. AND...they will only call if something is wrong.
Yes "the child" does work. She leaves here at 5:00 a.m.....and gets out of work at 3:45. AND comes in the front door like she rode her broom home!! She informed me today she is only here until she has a couple more paychecks and can get an apartment herself. This is what she and Brittney had planed to do until the incident yesterday.
Oh, and her Traffic Court case got postphoned until Aug. 9th.
Mary, do you think we will survive the next two years with these kids?
Everyone has been so supportive to us "moms of teens" and I really appreciate all of your advice and what has helped you all.
I have PT first thing in the morning. THEN, Friday morning we find out what DH's MRI & such showed....and if he needs knee and/or elbow surgery. Oh joy!
Sweet dreams....going to try and get some sleep
Debbie
Deb - I think the only ONLY way I will survive is to have
1) Folks like our Friends on here to help me stay on the right path...with good 'ole common sense.....
2) Folks like you and Judy and etc...... so I know "I'm not the only one".....
3) Folks like Thunder and those who have "Been there done that... got the T-Shirt" so I think there can be "Light at the end of the tunnel".....
((HUGS)) to all who fit in the above three categories (that is everyone by the way )
Mary
Debbie so glad to hear follow-up for "the child" turn out with great results.
Coffee is on.
Good morning everyone. I'm so sorry to hear of all this turmoil. Wish I could put a stop to it for you.
Going to be a busy day here - I have Sean again and I"m thinking it may be a "go for a swim at the lake" day. Maybe we will pack a picnic and have lunch there too.
I think Norm gets to come home tonight. It's been a long week with him being gone for his training. I must admit, I was so ready for him to go to work but I sure do miss him when he's gone...
Off to take my shower before Sean gets here. ~~~Waving to all~~~~
Barb sounds like fun a swim and a picnic lunch.
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee Laura. Your up early!
Yea an ambulance decided to blast its horns going past our house at 2 am. What a way to wake up.
What are the temps like there LK? Ours have gone down to 92 as the high.
We reached 103, but they said it felt like 110 with the humidity!
I think what we all need is a really good rain.
Now anyone that does the dance???????
Wish I did!
Morning all,
Started to rain ever so lightly on my way in to work, have a feeling it's an all day rain but that's ok, we need it and besides if it rains all day better chance that we'll have a long weekend filled with sunshine!
Sure did miss having my i-pad at home, made me happy to see I had left it in the office vs. going off shopping and not locking my vehicle door.
Started off the morning with a smile, gardens are beautiful to walk through, checked to see what needs to be done this weekend, probably about 6 hrs. and they'd be top notch..think I'll put the telephones over to my house tonight and that way I can put a good dent into what is needed to refresh the gardens..lots of deadheading and cutting down spend plants. Even had an idea of what to do with 2 old windows I have and making an entrance into the eating patio out back, sooo making a list and checking it twice to see if it's feasible and if I've the strength to do it..lol...got to love a weekend project.
Last night one of my eldest friends called, she was feeling a bit down, yet another of her friends has gone to the Lord, she's aging and was quite an artist and is losing her ability..says she needs her Betty to motivate her so we're planning that she come visit shortly...then she went on to tell me about other friends, Gerry passed away-heart attack at 65 and Isabel his wife who took quite a fall and is 61, now cannot even remember where she is needs constant care..when her son dropped in a few weeks ago he asked where his father was, she said he was out buying a boat but there was a strange man laying on the floor since early morning resting...poor Gerry!!! As recreation co-ordinator for over 20 years with Township of Georgian Bay I was responsible to programming and special events..worked hand and hand with these people..they never tired, owned the town grocery store and even though they worked around the clock, they and their family always had time to work on special events with me...you'd never meet better..they were anxious to be retired, let the kids run the business and just travel..life sure has some curves doesn't it..
Regardless how we plan, how we worry about the future it's to no avail..enjoy each and every day and let the Lord do his work...when we plan he laughs, he's the one in charge and as long as we believe that HE knows what is better for us then we're heading in the right direction.
Debbie and Mary, you both might be right, it's a difficult time for not only you but these young men..have patience, patience of a saint and I'm sure with how you raised them they'll do you right.
Debbie, remember these times... that little one is still there and needing his mamma
Laura/LindaKay, I'll do the rain dance for you, better still, I'll keep the rain until noon hour and send it your way!
Barb, your day with Sean is just about perfect..you'll miss when he's in school and those days are over. I'm so glad I live near Greg/Melanie so that the boys can easily ride their bikes over to visit with me..Kyle has been every night now for 2 weeks, shake my head as I can't believe after Dec.14th he'll be driving a car over for his visits.
Norm will be home and he'll be so full things to tell you and you'll be tired by end of day! When you say he'll work from home, will there be days he'll not have anything to do and be with you..on call type of work?
Mary and Debbie, I went back and read your posts, amazing just in typing and chatting back and forth that you both come up with just the right answers for each other.
Debbie, the 'child' needs a good shaking, half a mind to go visit and set her straight..regardless of her former years (illness) it give her no right to treat you as she does..might be the best thing that happens to her is moving out..show her what the real world it about, wouldn't take her long to come back home and live by your rules..
Sorry to hear about the accommodations, maybe that's why Shane is so upset..he must realize how rough things are for you and how much pressure you are under..drats might have to give him a shake as well. Am relieved though that the tests for the 'child' show she's no worries..now if Paul can only get same!!!
Thank you all for your warm welcome!!!
Thunder good to see you again too, did you ever received the chicken/duckie applique pattern I send you and if sooooo….did you make them yet for your sister??lol Still sewing placemats for Christmas…not sure what possessed me to make 12(big family for Christmas dinner) of them, I get bored with the same pattern after a while…2 more to quilt and then on to the binding!!
Betty you are so right about “your” girls, from what I have been gathering from their warm welcome, the playful chatter and just the plain kindness and caring it seems like a great place to hang out.
I defiantly will take lots of pictures of Barb and Norm and I hope that I maybe I also get the chance to meet Dianne (if Dianne doesn`t mind meeting a complete stranger!!). I just hope and pray that her DH gets better.
Betty my home is always open for you and I really hope we get to meet soon!! Plenty of room to park your trailer but I also welcome to stay in the house!! Too bad your son didn`t make it all the way…maybe next time
The chairs are from Costco…my mothersday present!! Right now they just have 2 coats of clear coat on them because I didn`t know what colour I wanted them…come and sit with me!!!
LOL Crissy I am still laughing about the Phlox Tattoo in Betty’s boobie!!! What great sense of humor you have!
LK I could see Betty with a Mile marker of her DG friends down her legs!!! Must be great to have a son that gives you free Tattoos!! It sure can get pricy, I have 7 of them and they range in price from 350$ to close to 2000$. But I just love them and it is such great Art.
Betty, I love cooking and baking and it shows!!! Lol The Heat is bearable now, last week on thrusday it was close to 120F with the humidity and I thought I would die…hate the feeling of breathing in nothing but hot air.
Katie, hope you find a new belt soon, so interesting to read what plants/trees grow in different parts of the world.
Thank you Mary for the warm welcome and you should go back to Germany for a visit. I love going back home for visits (will be going in October for my brother’s 60th birthday)…good food and great visiting with family.
Debbie, I hope you get great results back for the Echo/EKG as well. Big hugs for you…its not easy to be a Mom but it will get better…just breathe and try to ignore the drama as best as you can, or smack them over the head until they come to their senses.
Betty so sad about your friend's friend and I am sure it will do wonders for her when she comes and has a nice visit with you.
Wishing everyone a great day, stay cool and do something nice for yourself.
Love and hugs
Thea
They are not free, we always pay him. Trying to teach him a lesson. He always gives free ones to friends, and we tell him he won't make any money that way. If Mom and Dad pay, then friends have pay too!
Betty, sorry to hear about your friends. Sending prayers to those in need.
Thanks for the rain dance. Sure hope it works. We have a tropical storm coming in from the coast, lets pray it is strong enough to get this far.
Thea, doors open in my neck of the woods as well, you and hubby might wish to take a ride one weekend, get away from home...omg look at that photo, just love how you've captured it after a rain..are you getting any of the weather we are having today..still have a/c on but it's more enjoyable for sitting out on back deck..thank goodness I had it screened in last fall because I've never seen so many mosquito's..so much so that I thought maybe on my way home I'd stop at either Canadian tire or Home Hardware and see if the have a 'fogger' left mine at the farm along with everything else..lol but it sure helps when you do the property in am and pm, before long there are few looking for blood.
love the muskoka chairs, taught about 8 Make and Take workshops for the girls, all left with treasures..which reminds me, after Judy cleaning hers up that I brought to Chicago for her I saw that my lily chair needs to be touched up, another weekend project..don't you love it when you walk around and 20 things jump up that need doing.
Was thinking this morning what I need is a handy man just for about 4 hrs...new headboard needs leg's cut by 3", hard for me to lift and hold, bought new washroom toilet seat??, one of those store cupboards in the basement came off when I was dogsitting Sophie, repaired holes, easy to fix, just can't hold door and screw in hindges at same time, that's about all I see that needs a man around the house right now, maybe I can stand at the variety store next door and pick one up...do that when I need hands for a project, all the young kids from the street go for treats, I offer them candies/pop in exchange for 5 minutes..works well!!! Now this is where the tatoo comes in, I'd have one to show him and encourage him I need help???? too funny...
I have a story but don't know that it's appropriate, maybe if I could figure a way to tone it down..
While at a party I told a bunch of friends I just had a tatoo of a mouse put under my belly button, of course none would believe me, not one..after all of them saying, let us see, let us see, I'd pull my slack waiste band just below the naval, they'd look and look and look and say, right, nothing there then I'd say, 'ahhh my Kitty (now you have to find the appropriate word) must have eaten him....
can you guess what the word is???
Betty, your Mom will love that afghan! Love the mouse tattoo joke! LOL!
Did you get the alternate for Kitty???
got to tell you, just rearranged the blocks, she gave me a bag full of blocks, no design, just asked if I'd put them together..mom's, you just got to love them..ahhh brainstorm, is this their payback for when we were kids?
drats/more drats
Paul just called, said 'are you at home' nope 'how come?' ahhh I don't know..here now might as well stay..lol
but not tomorrow, I'll play at home in the gardens..
Yes, I got the other word! LOL!
Betty you are too much!!!! LOL about the mouse!!! Your Mom will be so pleased with you for getting that done for her. I like the layout in the picture.
Start a list of things that take two people. It will give Norm something to do while we are there!!! He loves doing things like that. I don't mind sharing my handyman with you!!!!
Sean says he doesn't want to go to the lake. He says he won't go swimming there because he thinks people "Pee in the water!" He does crack me up sometimes. So we are going to wait a while and take a ride somewhere and just stop where we like for our picnic.
Thea that flower photo is simply gorgeous. What a great shot.
Off to make sandwiches.......
Betty I think we all got the word! LOL!!!!!
Thea thank you!! Yes I have quite the sense of humor, next time I come up that way I have to meet you!! Love your sitting area by the way, very relaxing!!
Well I'm busy cleaning my desk today, what a mess, and the dust bunnies ACK!!!!
Betty your mom's going to love that!! And WHY are you at work today when he said to stay home Thursdays and Fridays??????? That is what you wanted and you're not even following through with it. Go HOME!! Tee hee hee
Barb, he's right, people do pee in the lake along with other things too but so what, just don't drink the water! LOL LOL LOL LOL
He's just turning 11 Crissy and everything is YUCKY to him!!! This is the kid who loved to play with frogs etc and now everything is gross!!!!!
