Just realized how long the thread was getting so moving us over..
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1195016/
As we start this thread I think of Warren/Dianne, Bev and Shirley..in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time..
For the rest of you, sending hugs..
Welcome to my garden, the weather is playing havoc, come join me, lost of weeding to be done, garden to be watered and mega deadheading..
Now don't sit down, drinks will be served once you've got your chores done...
Best/Worse/What I did learn today? Chat with friends..
Can I save the seeds? Thanks for the wonderful signs Betty.
You sure can..drats Susan called, Ann is away , looked at the clock and realized they were on game 1 of t.v. Bingo, mad rush next door to buy my cards..talk about disorganized tonight..
Ooops someone won game 1 and it isn't me
Didn't call Aline, best I turn down tv and call her, doesn't matter if I miss game 2/3/4. It's the $2,500 on game 5 I want to win
Bev, sorry I don't know..don't even remember planting it there..Do you mark each one of your plants or do you have a sketch in order to be able to name them all?
Didn't win game 2 and doesn't look like game 3 either..spoke with Aline for a few minutes, she is leaving tomorrow morning to go be with her dad..Jane, who is her SIL, lost her 1st husband to cancer 16 years ago..thought Jane and Jacques had been married 2 years but it was 3.. Life just isn't easy!
Hello To All ! Greetings Night Shift !
Many prayers to Dianne & Warren... Seems you have a good doc though? Good for DH figuring out to roll up... he is a huge man...
LK - yes - our computer grows much dust too.. main one in the kitchen is way bad. Most folks I know with tats have a story around each one too.... Yes - Betty pups seem to take to the young ones... Belle can't leave my niece's 2 yr old alone... like she knows he is 'her age'.... "play with me " ! but can be a bit rough.... LOL in New Orleans you were watching folks slurp down Raw Oysters... love em'... quite popular here... I promise not to eat any *when* you come visit :o) LOL at 45... I feel so old perhaps it's because I'm the oldest gal in my dept at work... all relative I know....
Agree with crissy... think he thought he had a drug plant smuggler LOL...
Barb YAY YAY For you and Norm ! Bet you are both so excited !
Judy - Me too... thought Betty and Susan would be much closer then I... learned a geography lesson with that one.. I mapquested both... Oh Susan such BEAUTIFUL Pics ! Love them ! I have the purple clover too.... they are bearing with the heat right now.... but love your colors...
what is a 'berm' ?
6 foot day lilies !? WOW ! They don't get more than a foot tall here !
I have short tiger lillies (about 1 1/2 ft), but my day lillies are thick stemmed, and very tall!
I have some orange ones I found tonight....I can't wait to see what they look like open.
Love the gardens Susan! Lots of work you did....and it is so beautiful.
Hot as heck here. Wind quit blowing so without the breeze, it is nasty.
I have decided my house has turned into a hotel for wayward boys. Two full time now along with DS and DD. HOWEVER, Nate has been helping me, and even very appreciative about meals.
So happy the weather is supposed to break tomorrow. Hoping it really helps my feet/legs. Went to the doctor today. She was VERY upset, spent 45 minutes with me....then sent me down to the lab and 5 tubes of blood. Should have results by mid next week.
Well...going to drag my tired old self up to bed and compete with DH in the snoring competition! lol
Sweet dream.....hugs to all
Debbie
Most of my garden are perennials but this year they're better than usual, likely because of the rain. We had on-going rain most of the spring, then very hot sunny weather, now we're getting some rain. It's balancing out this year :-)
((HUGS)) Deb and Susan;
Even wayward boys can vacuum and dust ! Susan your flowers are spectacular ! Ours are winding down with record heat... 105* today... another record....
It's just plain ole HOT around here ! Got an afternoon thunderstorm today so Thank goodness I didn't have to water...
Belle misses DH... he is in Orlando for a convention. I woke up (late) and opened an eye and she was on his pillow looking right at me.... LOL
Hugs all,
Mary
A few of ours have wound down too - My bleeding heart is almost finished, and the lilac trees are done. Even most of my irises are done - I still have one white one with a yellow centre - have never had that bloom before, so it's quite a treat!
Morning Susan,
Been up for hours it seems almost time for a nap! BBL hopefully bright eyed and Bushy-tailed?
D
Morning Dianne, been tossing and turning since 2:00 as well..keep trying to talk mysel back to sleep but it's not working!
Guess that night shift didn't wait up for us

After 2 csi and one episode of bones I'm up..skitters are so heavy this morning..at first I thought it may have rained as the ground was so wet but it didn't so had to water the planters..the one in the big frame didn't do well so put it in the shade..maybe a trip to garden center looking for some that can take this direct sun, how about plastic? Would that be considered 'red neck'?
Susan I've enjoyed a walk through your gardens..thriving for sure..you must start taking time to sit and enjoynthem...how did you make out with passport Canada?
Mary, how is the young one doing after his week away? Poor Belle, they know when someone is missing..I feel for you and LindaKay having such high temps? Unbearable, thane goodness for a/c
Wonder if Laura and her family went for more than the weekend..hope she doesn't overdo with that bad back..
With Shirley being an early riser I would think she's on the road..safe travels..
Miss Holly, her gardens and garden art are so spectacular..see some of our store garden centers closing up so wonder how much longer she!, have to work..hope she saved those pennies for scuba diving.
Oh Debbie, I'm worried about you, it's hard to believe that you could possibly be more swollen then you were on our road trip..got to be something, hoping the doctor finally gets to the bottomof it..walking must make you so uncomfortable.. How on earth do you manage to have such a growing household..between furies and kids I think you should get a community award..
Well, going to look gor something to wear that is comfy, won't be around a whole lot today, working with bilRobert to see just what we need to but for the new office, what we have to get rid of in the old office....next 2 or 3 days will be play days..must get 5 sets of 8 keys made this morning,,wonder who makes keys, Walmart??
Breakfast tv calls for hot humid temps right into next week...those on holidays will appreciate.
Looking at the clock, must run..will try to drop in from time to time..
Packed my camera, will take a photo of my new office space
Morning everybody! Today I made French Vanilla coffee. Help yourself please. No goodies today though, unless you want a Rhubarb Popscicle.
Betty your Crossword Roads signs look wonderful. Thank you so much for including me and a BIG THANK YOU for spelling my name right. You have no idea how many different ways people spell it. Over the years I have become less touchy about the spelling but when you couple the fact that Dianne is my middle name with the spelling people use of my name you can probably understand how mortified I was as a teenager to have my name called out from a list. My normally rosy cheeks are just flaming right now thinking about it.lol
Mary chuckled at your comment about Belle using DH's pillow. Stormy and Quill actually think they have first dibbs on DH's side of the bed and his pillows. For a few years my DH was gone from S - Fri/Sat teaching in Toronto. So the dogs really did learn how to sprawl over the bed.At the time I had 2 Sammies and they were very protective of me.lol
Think I feel a nap coming on --- Oh Joy!!!!
BBL
Dianne
It was my pleasure to include you Dianne...furries sure know how to take over a household..
Imagine, just sent out e-mails to the girls I do the annual christmas 'shop till you drop' trip to give them dates so I can plan the trip..even I am shaking my head 'Christmas'???
Robert is not here yet, hmmm maybe he forgot and I'll have to plug along myself..will give him till 10:30 then off I go..seems funny, telephones switched to another office and I've nothing to do except sip coffee and eat a donut!
Got keys done on my way in..went to the mall and talked to Management..seems we have a code which we call and security will let us in if it's not between the hours of 8:00am - 8:00 pm...won't be me for sure..
Glad I brought my camera with me, just as I was going up back concession there was a mom pheasant and her baby, I stopped, watched and took a photo..too cute..
Ooops, Roberts here..must run
drats, left my ipad on home counter, not good .. you know me, door are always open, not quite sure why I don't put a sign to say all welcome, make yourselves at home..do it verbally but lordy strangers don't know they can..lol
Having Robert along side of me is like having Roger..talk about him being same..lol
you all must be busy
g'morning - sore throat, think it's swollen glands. Not feeling my best.......
Betty - I faxed the request to have our passports re-sent to us. That's all they said I needed to do.
Going to go sit on the couch and be a potato lol Raining again.......
Morning everyone. I have been up since 7:00 but just been busy around the house. Trying to get it back in order after the kids were here last week-end.
Looks like no one slept very well last night.
yes, I was up late........
Here's 4 tenors singing Amazing Grace:
http://www.clarrissegill.com/videoclips/amazing_grace.php
Susan, that is amazing! Thanks for sharing the link.
aren't they wonderful? So sweet, yet so powerful! I love the bagpipes. My fav part of any song... so haunting.....
Hi all! Been super super busy today and now that it's almost time to go home I'm taking a break LOL
Susan that's amazing!!
Betty glad you're getting your new office situated!
Hello To All !
((HUGS)) Dianne... yes the pups know that's their spot.... hope you did get that much needed nap.
Betty - DS19 is doing some very hard labor this week... working for a friend who does landscaping. He is leaving before I leave in the morning and he gets home after I do... all hard workout in the hot sun. so far so good :o)
I'll pop back and check on ya'll in a bit... ((HUGS))
Mary
Morning all, coffee taste so good this morning..hoping you will join me!!
Wow hanging baskets are sure taking having a time off it with this weather..even though I do a daily water the are drooping..imagine it's the same in many of your gardens..I was thinking that I might take them all and hang in the secret garden (all shade) to try and revive..
Debbie, thought of you when I was in the new office, not sure if a already said, please excuse if I did .. Across the hall on main mall level is a pet sho, oh my, 6 of the cutest kitties were in the window, had it all set up as a play area..wanted to bring some home..thought Debbie wouldn't be able to resist..lol
Mary, hard labour and long hours will not hurt him,! no mention of army/navy? Is dh at auctioneer school?
Crissy, it makes the day go so quickly when you are busy..have you had lunch at the deli? Hmm
Got a call early this morning, remember my house guest Dannie, her father died..she has been in Montreal the past few months..seems she has left hubby and boys and will now live there...I think she's had a breakdown, certainly not the mom who brought her kids to stay at my house as she couldn't endure them not being with her..family certainly is torn apart!
Lindaykay, does the tattoo get scabby, is that the healing part you say is the most painful
Still no Laura, maybe it's a week of vacation they are having.Thunder, did you manage to chat with Sailor boy?Was a long day yesterday, didn't get home till almost 8:00pm, walked the gardens, came in and bedtime..Bev, looking for my lily fix..
This morning it's off to the new office for a few hours, running around and hopefully home early! Not sure where I'll be tomorrow...makes for a change.
Usually Thursday's Cathy comes over to cut grass, almost hoping she doesn't, would be exercise for me...
Before I sign off, Dianne, hope that Warren had a painless night and you managed to have a half decent night sleep..saying prayers along with those before me.
Morning Betty, Thanks for the coffee.
Sorry to hear about Dannie's Father passing. Will send prayers her way.
Yes, tattoo's will develop a scab on it if you don't wash it several times a day. You also have to keep special cream on it called
H2 Ocean. when you get a tattoo, you are punctures thousands of times with all the needles used, and sometimes you will bleed a little bit, but during the healing process the area will ooze a clear liquid that will dry up and get crusty if you don't keep it cleaned. They take about a week to heal. Plus if you have it on your arm, when you put your arm down to your side, you can feel the pressure.
Good morning everyone.
Thanks for the coffee Betty. Your new office sounds like it may be fun for you. Is it closer to home or farther away? I'd go crazy if there were a pet shop near me. I'd want to take everything home!!! It will be nice to have it furnished as you like.
This heat is finally breaking for a bit and the dryer air feels so good. I've been trying to get caught up on all my sewing obligations this summer. I have a list of things to get done so I keep plugging away. There is a new thread on the sewing forum where Melody is putting together a kit we can buy from her to learn how to do our own fabric dying. This is something I have wanted to learn. My Mom did this for years but I had little ones then and wasn't paying much attention. Now I want to know!!! If you are interested - check it out!!!
Susan, I just listened to the 4 Tenors and I had goose bumps all over when the bagpipes started. I too have a touch of Scotch heritage and get such a good feeling when I hear them. As a matter of fact, Norm and I were surprised with a piper at our wedding. He was wonderful....
I'm keeping all of you in my prayers - both morning and night and whenever I feel to do so during the day. It seems we are all in need and I know He listens. We are witness to that = between Norm's cancer and his losing his job. The Lord has provided for us.
We are off for a ride today since the air is pleasant. I'll check back in later....Have some fun today ladies.....
Keep us posted please?
Debbie, did you get any test results yet?
Betty yes LOL!!! The catering side isn't bring in as much as he wants it to suddenly for some reason so he's out this week selling it, he's a hard worker and extremely focused. I went there yesterday and got a tuna sandwich and talked to his manager for a bit, I'll go back in Friday, think I want a hamburger today.
I'm going to be busy again today but that's ok, the busier I am the less I think and the more I learn LOL!
Good Morning.
Betty, Wow, love the Millage Post! You sure are filling it up, pretty soon you'll have to erect another.
How sweet to be able to watch the pet shop across the way, think I'd have fun watching people stop and play with the kitties.
It sure sounds like you will enjoy the new office...Hope for it'll be an early dismissal.
Oohh, Susan, your gardens are just Lovely!! I love Sweet William and yours are beautiful. I have just plain white, which are pretty too, but i really like the color of yours, thinking I'm a bit jealous, hehehe. What a beautiful way to wake up this morning. Thank you for sharing the Amazing Grace clip, sent tingles coursing through my body!! It is one of my all time favorites.
Smiling as I say Barb and Norm, Have a wonderful Drive today!! Will look forward to see where you've ventured.
Debbie, you are remarkable!! Whew, all my "waywards" are back on their own...I have found unless you tell them directly what to do, they do absolutely nothing!!
DH, has taken to making a list of chores for everyone, lol which does help, but because of those lists, I have to wait until they "get around to it" drives me bonkers.
My house finally is back in order, well as orderly as it's gonna be, lolol.
Well, with exception of Breenie Girl!! I have begged, pleaded and scolded her to clean her room, but nope hasn't lifted a finger!
When I see her today, she is going to get an earful from me...Yesterday, was doing a slow burn, which is very dangerous, hahah, have come to the decision, that I am just going to start B()&%^%$ up a storm until it gets done, and not going to stop.
Crissy, hope you have a calmer day today. Sometime those super busy days are good, makes the time faster!
Bev, great idea with a label maker to mark the posts!!
Shirley, sure hope you have a great trip, at least the weather is going to be great for traveling!!
Dianne, sure hope you had a good nap and DH is getting a painless rest too...
Mary, Maybe being with your dad has inspired DS with hard labor!! Well, landscaping sure is hard work, but oh so much fun to do and seeing the final outcome is such a grand way to appreciate the work... Not to mention hearing seeing the reaction of the client!!
OMG, girl, I've read whirligigs again, not only did I cry again, but now I have just got to make one, lol have been thinking of what I want to do ever since reading it the first time, and it all your fault!!, lol in a good way! Sigh, another project to contemplate, hahah.
Linda Kay, Been thinking about you!! LOL, Well and all the quilters, I've been scanning over these old books that Liz sent me!! OH gosh, some great patterns, that I will have to try...
Problem is, Lately, I have been scatter brained as to what to do with free time, ROFLOL, thinking maybe it's time to make a list of projects and get going on them one at a time!! OMG, speaking of which, I am having issues with spelling and grammar as I type, my errors are driving me insane!! Maybe it's a sign...
Betty, so sorry to hear of Danie's loss, will keep her in T&P.
We just learned about our good friend Mark. He has been Manic depressed for years. In March! He decided it was enough and ended his self.
He and Steve have been friends since Childhood. Steve is taking it pretty hard. We, will be going to a memorial Mass for him on Saturday.
Well, on that note, I guess I will go play outside today...
Arm Wraps for every one, wink enjoy your day.
