Jaye - take care of yourself. I hope it's just someone burning off their field, and not a wildfire........

farmers market tomorrow
next week my garlic will be ready to sell there.
I had to go back and take another look at that darling Jonathan! Where can I find where Stacey has all her pictures? I had it once, should have written it down.
awwwwww poor Cookie - I can understand why she doesn't want to use crutches........ they're harder on a person than the original injury!!!
Pegi, try this:

Hello everyone!! Happy Saturday!!
Cookie, I'm praying for a speedy recovery for you girl. Hope you won't have much trouble using the bathroom.
Don't you worry too much about the garden, and when you're in pain, grab those pain pills!!!
Perhaps Bill might build a temp. ramp one for you to get down those steps, for easy wheelchair maneuvering.
Sue, wish our "farmers' market" sell home grown produce :( If I'm living closer, I'd buy up bunches of your garlic and pickle them.
Learnt to enjoy them from an Iranian friend.
How's the interview Susan?
Woke up real early, but body's too lazy to do anything but veg in front of the pc and 'chat' with family! Coming from a big family, there's always something new to report.. or reminisce.
Got neckbones boiling and tonight's supper will be Neckbones and Rice, some good soul food!! All I need is some collard greens! Who's coming?
Some one forgot to leave the cookie crumbs and I got lost!!
Me, me! Brings the collards and cornbread--stone ground. That be okay. BTW, can I bring my garbanzo bean soup with me too?
Well we are getting more, er maybe I should say still, rain. Not complaining as we are really needing it. Atleast this has kept me in the house and on to my cleaning project. Thank goodness for free cycle. I really like it when I have things to donate and they come pick them up rather than having to load things in the van and drive into town.
The interview went fine - they have a lot of applicants, and will let me know by next Thurs/Friday.
Going to Marlene's to plant some perennials - when she wakes up....... it's 10am, and I woke her up when I called (ooopsie!). I have a cyprus (not a cedar as I earlier said) and some carnations - and it's up to her which she wants or both.
Cornbread! yummy - love Johnny Cake! hmmmmmmmm want any potato salad? Making some today for church BBQ - most of the volunteers didn't get much last week, so they're doing a "Thank you to volunteers" tomorrow LOL and I'm one, making potoato salad LOL
btw - tried to do a Search on DG for cedars, and get an error page in IE 8 saying "expired; false" IE can't find"- not even a DG error!! any ideas?
(((((((((((((((((((((((COOKIE!!!)))))))))))))))))))) Hope your leg heals really fast! What in the world!?!?!? LOL
Sue thanks for going over there and helping her out, what a good friend you are!!!
Susan glad the interview went good, maybe something good will come out of it. That's weird, I went to the homepage and searched "cedar" and got this:
http://davesgarden.com/sitewidesearch.php?q=cedar
Thanks Jaye for Stacey's blog. Have to see all pictures of our boy. I'm seriously thinking about painting one of my styrofoam planters in RW&B theme. Thanks for the suggestion.
Yesterday wasn't a very good day, I broke an owl cermaic planter that I really liked, then knocked my large ceramic blue bird onto the floor and that broke into a lot of pieces. Going to try and glue some of the larger pieces together and put them out in the garden. The blue bird was going to go out there anyway, but now I'll have to hide part of it.
Today going through white ceramic we took off the kitchen counters a couple years ago, been asking myself why am I saving all of them. Threw some in the trash and still more to go through. If I can't come up with a project fairly soon all the rest are going in the trash too.
jaye i may be pickling some of the garlic. i will send you some. also i may be making a garlic spread. can send you some too.
its made with white balsamic vinager.
well did farmers markets
then went swiming at neighbors
still have chickens to feed and water

bbl
crissy - I get the same error message going to your link. I did however, get a reply to my question why I couldn't get a Cedar page, and Terry sent me a link that worked.
awww Pegi - sorry you broke your planter and bird! Hope you get them glued back together.
Sue - we had pizza for dinner too! The name of the Pizza co is Perfect Pizza and the one we ordered is called Perfect Mistake, cuz they put everything on it and it's thick! good, too! I was getting a little tired of hot dogs all the time...... even though they were free from the church's Stampede BBQ lol
Tonight I got out some ham bones I'd frozen a long time ago, and am making some soup - found some lentils in the cupboard and are cooking them now.
I'm also making some Scottish Spice Bread in our bread maker - this is to go in the "Travelling Basket" we exchange every week at our church - this is our week.
good morning.
i m soooo tired
Great names for pizza Susan LOL sounds like my kind of pizza . love ham bones
Pegi i m so sorry your fav things got broke . can they be fixed ?
hope you all are doing well and staying cool.
its so hot and humid we had a dense fog this morning ack :P
well i think i will go enjoy my coffee on the porch.
bbl
Monring everyone! Coffee on the porch sounds nice! Biscuits and sausage gravy is ready!
Pegi, sorry to hear about your items getting busted! Hope you can glue them toegether?
Joyce, so sorry to hear about your leg. Summer is not the time to be in a cast! My boys seemed to manage it every year and then no swimming for them until it was off. Take care of yourself. I know that crutches can be a really pain.
I will be learning to use a walker in Sept. since I have scheduled my knee surgery for early in the month. That and a wheelchair will be my seats for the month. I will also be doing as much walking as they need for physical therapy
Glad yo liked the pictures of Jonathan. He really is a doll and so easy to cuddle..
I don't think I can glue the entire items together since when they fell and broke they really shattered. But, going to put them together as best I can and they will get hidden a little among plants. The E6000 glue is really coming in handy, but I seem to want to glue my fingers too.
Praying for success on knee surgery and a quick recovery, ladydragon. Give that adorable little Jonathan a hug from me. What a precious gift!!
Janice, your lucky they will allow you to use a wheel chair. I was up and walking with a walker the next day, and was sent home with a device that made me move my leg. It was quite heavy, but it is a device that lays on the bed, place your leg in, and turn it on, and it moves your leg.
Keep us posted.
Have a beer for me Sue!
Off to see fireworks for last day of Stampede - chat atcha tomorrow!!
Hope the show was a good one!
Moring everyone! Coffee is ready. How about some waffles, crispy bacon, and lots of fresh fruit.
I need prayers for my Brother and family please? He has always been a very hot headed person, and has always abused his wife and kids. Well, for what ever reason he really lost it Saturday night, and tried to kill his wife. He got her in a bear hug, and told her he was not letting go until she was dead. Even after she passed out, he told her he could still hear gurgling, hurry up and die. Their daughter made him let go, and got her out of there. She called the cops and had him arrested. They live in Colorado, and she is now on a plane back to her Moms home in Michigan. Everyone is so upset, and a lot of mixed feeling.

Sending prayers for your family Linda. What a dreadful situation. I hope your brother is able to get the help he needs from all this.
Thanks Barb. It is so hard to take in, but I hope he gets the help too! His wife has been putting up with this for a long time and she is so afraid of him now. She finally had enough, and said that's it! She will need counseling too!
Skimming through, got a few minutes before I leave and no telling when I'll return home.
Janice, hmm... that means more time with us!!! Sorry sistah that you need surgery, so I'll wish you a speedy recover.
You and Cookie can 'hook up' via phone and give each other tips, but I do wish that you have someone that would be with you around the clock.
Awwww LK... you must be going stir crazy wondering why his family don't try to seek help for your brother before it got worse.
But then, victims of violence are so conditioned to live in fear and believing their abusers will one day change.
Thank God, your SIL's okay.
Will add him to our prayers that he recognise his mental illness and learnt to fight the demons with therapy. He has to want to heal for his own sake.
Sue, garlic spread? Others would think I'm nuts, but you've just brighten my culinary world!!
Pegi, knowing you, you'll recycle the pieces into something spectacular!!
I didn't go to church yesterday, for personal reasons. But I'm glad I was led to stay home as my stomach turned sour the whole day.
Or it could be I need NOT avoid church, and maybe my tummy won't suffer!!! Lol.. God isn't cruel.
Will be back later.
Morning Jaye. Sorry to hear your tummy was bad. Hope it is on the mend today?
Lk i m so sorry to hear of this. sending T&P to you and family. I know what its like to live in violence . I had the same kind of DH long ago.
jaye its actually a garlic jelly !! i know i know ... sounds yukky but we both know it will be a wonderful additon to or culinary delights. :)
think garlic toast . BBQ garlic corn on cob , garlic green beans.
cheesy toast with garlic
oh no vampires in our house LOL
hot today Again
arthritis is acting up and is a bit painful .
got the rest of garlic dug up
kids helped
bbl
Thanks Sue. Sorry to hear you had to go through that too!
LK Sending lots of thoughts and prayers, horrible to put up with that, I hope she doesn't go back to him, it will just get worse.
Good Luck with that knee surgery Janice!! Thanks for sharing the pics of Jonathan, he's growing like a weed!!
I had a violent boyfriend for a few years, he was Manic Depressant AND Paranoid Schizophrenic, scary situation and the longer I was with him the worse it got, I finally found my self esteem and told him he was going to have to go, I was no longer ducking from flying cans of Pepsi, putting up with being cut down all the time, him thinking that he had to look rich when he wasn't, couldn't hold a job at all, he told me that if I threw him out he would burn my house down with me in it so I grabbed up Tiga and started staying with a co-worker who I hooked up with for 5 years and told the rotten boyfriend that he can burn my house down but I will not be in it. Of course he never did anything, but I knew I was safe anyway. That was in 1995-1997.
My first hubby was that way too. I put up with it for 13 years and finally told him I was leaving. he said if I left he would kill himself. I looked him square in the eye, and sai, go ahead!
Seems like most of us has had this in our lives!
Me too and I stayed for 14 years. But when we wake up - we really wake up!!! I walked out with 4 children to support. I did it by myself for 7 years.
Norm had a bad experience with his first wife too. Found her in bed with her first cousin.
When we got together, we both had no idea of what we wanted but we had definite knowledge of what we did Not want. We've now been together 26 years and we are still just as happy as we were all those years ago.
Wait a minute, he found his wife in bed with HER first cousin??????
That's right Crissy!!! How's that for a kick in the teeth!!!!
we all have so many things in common, it really is a small world.....
Hugs to Y'all........so sad that there are so very many "sick" people out there.....
Not a good day here. I went town and was gone for about an hour, and someone tried to break in the house through the back door. Waiting on the cops to show up! Gun in hand, and hubby is home. Nothing seems to be missing, but my nerves are a wreck!
(((((((LK))))))))) prayers are being said for your Brother and family.
Yikes for violent partners! I heard once that if you stood on your doorstep and looked around at your neighbourhood, 1 in 3 homes have some kind of abuse going on (physical, emotional, mental, alcohol). If it's not yours, then perhaps there was some in your past, personal or family.
((((((((LK))))))))) do you think it may be a friend of your brother's??
The firework show was ok - we were too far away to see the ground level, and thought the show was over after one large burst, but it happened 5 minutes after last, so we didn't see it, but we HEARD it lol
Oh MY LK big hugs to ya !!!
Don't think it is any friend of my Brother. Colorado is too far away.
Sheriff is here now, and he said there has Ben a rash of burglaries, and car thefts. Told us to make sure we lock all the cars at night.
o my...... we've been robbed by druggies before, and they don't make sense in what they do take, so not taking anything isn't surprising....... You're in my thoughts, LK
How coincidental is it that there's the trouble with your brother, and then the break-in........ You're in my prayers too, LK.
Take care, and keep safe, please!
so many heart breaking stories with bad men. What is wrong with men these days.
LOL to funny on the " i will kill myself " my ex tried that on me and i handed him the biggest knife i could find
then walked out the door and the song " i will survive " by Gloria Gainer ? ( a great disco song ) came on the radio and i drove home singing it all the way to my parents house. LOL
apparently his is still alive... *crap*
Remember the Lord only gives us what we can handle.but sometimes it sure is nice to not have to deal with things.
