Susan hope and pray all is getting better for you and Bob !!!!
Had a great weekend ,Rick and I rode the bike down to Marietta,OH to see his bro....210 miles round trip. The worse part of the ride was the bridges on the interstate......but at least my legs are getting a good work out.....when we would come to a bridge or a rough spot in the road I'd squeeze his butt with my legs and push on the foot pegs and lift my butt to soften the bump......LOL ,Who needs a thigh master !!!! Found out that my lil cheapy Kodak camera takes pretty good pics doing 70 mph on the back of a bike ......LOL

Has cooled down a lot here ....got some rain , and now Rick is on his third fire station run today, the first two were because of fallen trees on powers lines ,won't know what this one is until he gets back......but it hasn't stormed for hours ,we were without power from around 2:30 pm until about 6 :00 pm.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Well the last call was a false alarm , Thank God , the call came from the FFA Camp and there are over 300 kids there right now for the annual summer thing.....the electric came back on and tripped the fire alarm.Rick said what was soooooo funny that one off the Counselors was on the potty and all the firemen and women come blowing in in full sirens and uniform.........said it scared the crap right out of him !!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you all for the T&P for Bob & I - much, much, much appreciated!!

Morning everyone! Synda, love the picture of the vette. Glad the last call for hubby was a false alarm, and all are well!
Dianne, glad you stopped in for a visit, don't be such a stranger here.
Love your signs Betty, they are so prettty!
Susan, sounds like you stay busy using your food dehydrator? We have one, but have never used it. Hubby wanted to make beef jerky, but we never found a recipe that sounded good to him...

good morning Sistaha's
great work Betty , those are so pretty , your so talented. :)
jay how are you feeling
synda to funny on the thigh master. sounds like you had a great time and great pic you took !! love it. Oh that poor counsler in the potty ! gives a whole new meaning to ' scared the crap out of him " don't it ? LOL
hot hot here
some of you all in droughts and i did hear that is was a record one since 1950 and may be equivalent to the "dust bowl " wow .
stay cool my Sistaha's

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Good morning all. I should be out cleaning up while it is still cool out. Need to clean up the dried up sweet peas and look forward to planting more in Sept. or Oct. Sure could use some much needed rain, but I think we may have to wait until winter (our rainy season).

Found myself 3 more styrofoam container boxes for planting. You just can't imagine what people have done with styrofoam, amazing. And I always hated the stuff.............not any more.

Betty those markers are beautiful! Wish I had just some of your talent. What wonderful memories you are making.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Welcome Kidneyguy (Dianne)
Pop in anytime you want and we are glad we made a new friend smile with our antics!!

Synda, too funny!! I'm sure that would scare the crap out of anyone!
Got a visual here and couldn't help associating that to Danny Glover's Lethal Weapon scene when his house got bombed while he was sitting on the toilet.
Did you get any sleep??

Betty, those are so pretty! I didn't realize that Susan is further than me, and she's in Canada!! Folks in the South think I'm just a hop and skip away.. but then NC is wide I'm at the other end of that wide spectrum.
Kel's a good boy, it's his stomach that's not behaving!!! He has an appetite of an ox!!

Sue, I'm feeling much better. Thanks for asking. The yogurt help in restoring some good bacteria in the intestines. Plus my toilet seat got some relief!! Wish the cough syrup is refillable.
Oh boy, soon I'll be a good candidate for a drug recovery program with all the meds and painkillers I'm taking.
Kidding sistahs. I still have some common sense left. Codeine didn't take them all!! Lol!!

LK, I had a colleague whose husband would make deer jerky with soy sauce and brown sugar. Simple but oh soooo good.
He had made some for me with loads of black pepper.

More styrofoams Pegi? Maybe you could paint RWB on a couple?
I have some dried gourds that I need to experiment the "one stroke" painting. But then, that means being outdoors longer, and the heat is unrelentless.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Jaye, sounds like you still have that darn cough?
What kind of gourds do you have?

Has anyone heard any news about Sistah Kathy? Praying she is on the mend!

Well, my son Andy, dug up all the hard roots from my angel bed, and I now have about 4 bougainvillea planted, and the pride of Barbado's in the center. I know they can take this darn heat.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,
I am in Auburn taking care of my mom's place while she is in Oregon. Took her to the airport on the 6th, will be picking her up on the 25th. I play poker alot on Facebook and met a guy who lives about 26 miles from me. Poor guy has been thru hell. Found out the other day that he has cancer on his liver. The doc told him he needs to find a stable home. So I had a talk with my mom about her motorhome. She is selling it to him so that he can park it on his daughter's property. He came up with me to my mom's, worked on the motorhome got it to running, cleaned it all up and fixed all kinds of little things that were loose. Now he is helping me clean up the front yard. I told him since he was taking the motorhome out of there I wanted to clean up all the other junk sitting around. We have worked outside everyday since last Thursday from about 8 in the morning until about 4 or 5 in the afternoon. We are both getting a good tan. He is a funny guy but some things he says or does gets on my nerves, and I tell him too, lol. He said I was a challenge, that not many women get outside and work side by side with a man. I told him I liked doing things like that. After we are done with work for the day we cook dinner together then sit out on the patio and have a cocktail. The other night we got out the dart board, played 301 (I beat him ^_^) then played Cricket ( I beat him again ^_^) funny thing is I could not see where the darts were going because the lighting wasn't very good. So he said tonight will be a rematch. I am at my daughter's taking care of Taylor she has a huge sore close to her little private area. OUCH!!! it is purple and full of puss. She is going to the doctor today. She has been sick with one thing after another, and is so pale and has dark circles under her eyes. My daughter thinks there is something seriously wrong and the doctors can't find it. She has had every blood test under the sun, and they come back negative for everything they test her for. It's scary not knowing what bugs she may have in her system :(

When I arrived at my mom's last Wednesday this is what I saw when I drove in the drive way. All I could say was OH MY GOD!!!!! They smell heavenly too. Now there are more opening up and different colors. The one lily farthest to the back is about 7 feet tall.

I had Calvin take this picture of me standing with these lilies. These are suppose to be those Lily Trees that I got from ????? ( can't remember the name of the company, darn CRS!!!)

Darn pic is sideways next post

Sue, was glad t see you found a place for the kitties...Scat you darned coons!!

Synda, Great picture!! hahaha, on the thigh master ride. What kind of Bike does Rick have? I find riding to be a great muscle tightener, lol I should ride more often!
Looks like you had beautiful weather for ride too.

Great way to re-cycle Pegi, glad you were able to find more!

Your new tattoo is Beautiful Linda Kay!

Susan, crossing fingers for Bob, hope he gets great news soon...

My gardens are a bust again this year!! They were doing so well for a while.
Then as we went away a good variety has been eaten by visiting hungry critters!
Sigh, I am about ready to give up, BUTT that isn't possible either, just enjoy what's there
which isn't much, I am so a Wanna be gardener....yes I'm feeling sorry for myself and pouting!

Oh well, I shall enjoy continue to enjoy seeing everyone's pretty gorgeous gardens and smile at the beauty!

Linda Kay, Saw somewhere your Barbados, perfect example of Gorgeous!!!

Well, off to do s o m e t h i n g!

Have a great day.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

No Sue she has not. That is what I told my daughter. They need to go to San Francisco for that and my daughter can not take the time off. Will wait and see what the doc says today.

Oh Synda, meant to ask....isn't there a helmet law in your neck of the woods?? Doug hates having to wear a helmet. So many times he has gotten on the bike to run to the store and no helmet and I have to holler at him.

Glenview, IL

Hey Cindy, Crossed with ya!

OMG is for sure!! Those Lilies are remarkable!! Wow and as tall as your adorable self...never knew they could grow that tall.

Oh goodness, sure hope Taylor get some good medicine. Poor baby, so sorry she is going through this.

Sorry to hear about your facebook buddy...nice that he's able to help you out with the stuff too.

Think I'll try a nap now...

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i meant labor day

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - don't have a dehydrator - use fresh veggies only

Cindy - so good you found someone to buy your mom's motorhome AND help clear your yard! Symbiotic, f'sure. And I know his DD is happy he's moving on-site!
So have T&P for the little one's infection - it must be so sore!!

Jaye - yaaaaaaaaay for yogurt and tea, eh? Glad you're feeling better

Kathy - welcome back - keep taking your proper meds. We want you healthy and well!

Judy - good that you got the "first blush" on your garden - Hoping that it perks up again and the critters leave it alone :-)

Dianne - thanks for the comments - and you make us smile when you come in to chat :-)

Betty - what a wonderful idea those sign posts are! Thank you for including me!

Well, I'm off to do some errands - vaccum cleaner, groceries, new cover for BBQ (DH says our current one is sized wrong..........and too small), faxing page to Passport Canada to have our passports sent again (they were sent back to Hull, Quebec as we didn't pick them up - they called Bob by the wrong name when they phoned, so we didn't know they were for us)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, glad you were Able tom help your online friend, and sell him the motor home. He is helping you out with your gardens. Love those tall lilies!
Sending prayers for Taylor. Sure hope they find out what is going on with her soon!

Judaaaaayyyyyy heeeey girl. sorry to hear of the gardens . mine are 5 ' under weeds ... so sad. so depressing. my glads were eating down also my lillies ... :( just can't get out there enough.

but we made it through the day ok .
one of my chickens is not well. so sad. i sure hope my meds i m giving her work
hi to everyone and sending ((())) to you all

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi Everyone!

Planning for Labor Day already!

Cindy love those lilies!! LOL about the helmet, we don't have a helmet law here, not sure if Ohio does or not. It's a state by state law. I'm so sorry about Taylor! My goodness she probably does, Mono can create all kinds of other problems, and your daughter needs to tell her boss where to stick it, I know easier said than done but still. Sounds like you're getting things done at your moms thanks to your helper there!

Susan that sucks when they get things screwed up like that. Hope you don't have to pay again.

Sue so sorry one of your chickens is sick! Hopefully the meds will work!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Has anyone heard of a pink peace rose. I bought it a home depot about a month ago, and it is getting it's first bloom!

you may recognize other names and don't despair, a trip to Home Depot, saw/paint brushes in hand and I'll be adding a few more...don't want to miss any who want to be 'hitched' lol

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

wowsers Betty!!! that is fantastic!!! ^_^

Betty that is so great !!! so creative you are.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Just beautiful Betty!!!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - you've inspired me......... not to do the same, but to keep crafting! I used to do cutouts of the seven dwarves, and put them on small posts so they looked like they were walking around my yard. Lost them years and years ago, but keep thinking I should use the reciprocator saw and make some more. This was when I was an at-home-mom, and 30 years ago. I made the requisite butterflies, too lol
Right now I'm making fleece swaddling 9-patch crazy quilts for the Church's cry room in back of the sanctuary. I'm on my 2nd one now. I'll keep making them until I run out of fleece lol My cousin sent me a whole bunch and some had blocks cut, but most didn't. All sorts of wild and crazy colours/patterns.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good Lord, Betty!! Don't you ever take a break from your crafts? No need to answer that, you do when you go on your road trips!!
Absolutely beautiful work, Betty.
Your town mayor should be listing your house and gardens as the town's major attraction ^_^
Oh to have your energy and talent!!
I am honored that you 'hitched' me!

Cindy, I am so sorry to learn that Taylor is afflicted with an undiagnosed infection. Poor child must have grown weary being pricked and prodded.
If your daughter worked for a big company, she should apply for FMLA (family medical leave act). She can't get fired for taking care of immediate family.
Sounds like you had a garden angel besides a buyer for the motor home. Don't keep beating him at games, you want him to return to help you with the garden.
When it comes to helmet law, it depends on the state or counties. In South Carolina, helmet law only applies to N. Myrtle Beach, not the rest of the counties. Then when they cross the border into North Carolina, you should see the bikers reaching out for their helmets!

Sistah Judy, the heat here sure increases the locust population. I feel your frustration sistah!! Time to take out the Neem oil!

Sis Kathy, you and I need to put our pennies together and buy Pfizer shares, with all the meds we're taking.

LK, I had a Peace rose once. Jap Beetles got to it. Yours is a deeper pink.. so beautiful.

Sue, I just instructed Kel to weedeat tomorrow. He's not too happy, was looking forward to a lazy morning. Told him that the cats had to rely on their noses to find their way through the tall weeds!!!

Oh Susan, what would the church do if ever you and Bob resigned? I am sure your church appreciates you. That crazy quilt will look beautiful, and when you're through, take a pic please.

Barb, I am so glad that Norm got himself a job.
Congrats Norm, and that means more $$$ for fabric!!!

Zzzz time.... love and hugs to my sistahs.
Hoping tomorrow will bring surprise blessings to us ALL ^_^

ETA: ((((((((Charleen))))))))

I am so sorry to read of Louie's death. It's never easy when we lost a beloved pet.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - we're just getting started!
There's a small group of us that are taking over from the seniors who have taken a huge step back. John & Judy, Bob & I, Bob D (good friend) John F, and a few others are "stepping up to the plate" to make sure things are done. We're giving the church a fresh look and making sure it's cleaned!
Other people have been doing the work of the church for 40+ years, so it's time they took a break......

Thumbnail by Tallulah_B
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, this one is a pink peace rose. Not yellow and pink like the regular peace rose.
I'm off to bed. I have been sitting her since noon, waiting on the direct tv guy. I was told he would here, any where from noon to four. At noon he called and said he would be here at six. At 6:30, he called again and said he would be here at eight. At nine he called and said he was on the way. Todd told him don't bother, as it was going to take him three hours to install the new dish, and hook up the new box with dvr's on the two tv's! Now I have to call in the morning and try to reschedule!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Why should you have to reschedule? They should be phoning You to reschedule.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan's right LK, they should be calling you this morning to reschedule, Dish does!

Susan you and Bob are just busy bees, so glad you're having a good time together.

Jaye so glad to see you up and around again!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

woke up with sore throat - swollen glands, I guess...... not feeling the greatest.
