Well, we told the tech that wanted to show up at 9:00pm was told not to show up, as it was going to take him at least 3 hours to install everything. He then told us, we had to call in the morning to reschedule. When we called this morning, I was told it would be another 2 weeks, so we said forget it! I also told them I did not appreciate them sending a tech, that could not speak english. Just because I live on the border of Mexico, does not mean I speak the language. So it is cancelled, and Todd is not happy as we just bought this 55 inch LED/HD tv, and now we can't get the HD equipment. So it looks like we may be switching to DISH? Pretty bad customer service!!!

Bad customer service, Indeed!!! Sounds like they're the "only game in town" so they have you "over a barrel"?
Coming so late at night then having a 3 hour service (9pm to midnight?) is not acceptable, but...... what to do?

Linda Kay Dish network is cheaper here....that's what we have.

Rick's bike is a 1986 Honda Magna VF1100 and no Cindy we have No Helmet Law in Ohio !!!!!!!! But we have helmets just in case we want to go to any surrounding states .We are only about 1/2 hour to 45 mins. away from WV so if we cross the Ohio river we have to have them.

still a little scratchy throat, but feeling better now. I think I just need some tea, is all....

LK my next door neighbor decided to switch from Dish to Direct and he hates hates hates Direct, the worse service ever! I have Dish and I'm going to stay with Dish, I had it in CA for 3 years and never had a problem and now I've had it here in AR for 4 years and still not a single problem. I'll never leave Dish and hope that Direct never buys them out!

Susan if you can get Direct TV service you can also get Dish, they can't monopolize like that. Glad you're feeling better!!!!

Don't have an HD TV, but do get better quality than we used to, through our TV/Internet/phone provider.
S'funny - we've been a subscriber for 5 years (ever since we moved to Calgary) and when we wanted to switch our digital box to an HD box, we were told it couldn't be put on our bill, but we needed to put it on our credit card for monthly billing!! We couldn't understand why, cuz the digital box ain't cheap, and comparable price, so why suddenly do they want our cc?

We have Dish and have had no problems. They gave us Starz and another movie channel for FREE for a year, but how can it be free when they uped the monthly rate $5 more. Of course we have to get a converter box when it went digital, cheaper to buy the box than pay an extra $5 a month for local channels. They get you coming and going.

we are stuck with Direct tv. Dish came out and couldn't do the job. Direct did the job. They seem ok. I was not happy with Dish. I hated the Internet provider Wild Blue they had ?? !! ugh just awful .
I hope you can get it all worked out . Seems a bit odd thought ot have to pay with a CC ?

I do feel better - dunno what's up with the scratchy throat, but drinking hot liquids and taking cough syrup - right gland seems swollen just a bit. I absoluutely refuse to get a cold LOL

We have Direct for years now, no problems at all. MIL switched to Dish with their 'promotional' offer, and after a year, the rate's increased. I think it depends on the area you're in.
I never fall for those offers after I read the small prints :(

A very, very bad summer storm yesterday. Couldn't get on after 5 and I ended up taking a nap till 11 pm. Turned out I needed the sleep :))

Ack, bummer about having to switch. Yikes, We have Dish, seems to work well, unless there is a huge storm going on.
But...Gee whizz, there are over 1000 channels and "nothing" good to watch, lolol. We have it mainly for the reception!
OMG, now we have to rent the good movies!!

We do not have Helmet laws here either, at least i don't think. I've heard there are helmet laws anywhere it's mountainous or where there are Windy roads.

Bob would like a 55" tv too, but y'know what they say about "watching distance" lol we don't have that much space between couch and tv to comfortably watch a big-screen tv lol Bob would say differently, but then - that's testoterone talking LOL
Me, I get BBQ envy - you should have SEEN the one I want....... we went in for a $20 BBQ cover for our current one, and I saw a "Social Centre BBQ"....... wow o wow - has storage "up the ying yang" and is right angled, and black - so elegant I'm not sure I'd want to Use It LOL
It's cool this am, but still ok to go out in a heavy duty t-shirt and sit on the deck. I need to move stuff off the deck to make room, so will put old chairs in the "back 40......." (40" that is- and I'm not j/k) lol

I Got An Interview - tomorrow at 2:30. They pay less than I'm used to, but at least they're willing to see me, and that's a first interview for me!

I have been on vacation for the past three weeks at the beaches of NC. i rented a house for the whole family so that we could get together and celebrate my Dad's life. It was a fabulous house; three stories with an elevator and pool right on the beach and we have the best time! I found out that Dad wrote letters when the three grandboys were born for them to open on their 18th birthday. Padric, the oldest, got his and read it for us and we all cried.

some of you may remember my DIL Fairy 105. She had a baby 10 months ago and not been on the threads much since then. Jonathan is the best boy. He has 7 teeth, laughs a lot and has the best temperament. I keep telling her that there is no guarantee that the next one will be this good!

They have settled into a new house this spring and have been working on it since. It is a nice house but a real fixer upper. Nothing major just a lot of little (and $ things) The money adds up. Thought you might like to see a picture of our boy!

Cookie broke her leg ! in two places. She is hoping to see a ortho today. she has a splint on it .

Stepped outside this morning and was greeted by a dense cloud of fog smelling of smoke. Another brush fire somewhere I guess.
So that means having to put on a mask again, if I don't want my sinuses aggravated.
BUT, I can also stay indoors and start on that charity block applique, which I've been 'avoiding' :D Got to do it though.. a commitment is a commitment!!
