Best/Worse/What did I learn today/Chat with friends!

Evening all, imagine, just got home..decided to make another stop at a nursery in Elmvale..so enjoy walking the gardens..fell in love with a lilac tree ( not bush). Yikes they want $139.99 for an 8 to 10 footer..did not get one for 2 reasons...1 it wouldn't fit in my Abel and 2 not paying that much when all trees will soon be put on sale...

Looked at lilac shrubs for Ann..there was a new type, not the boomerang ever blooming but. Late. Blooming, completely different leaves..about 4' tall so I bought one for Ann's birthday

While walking the gardens there was an area with butterflies flying all around some plants, omg it was beautiful, asked the young man what kind of plants they were to attract such beautiful butterflies?? He smiled, said it was a solar unit that operated the butterfly and you absolutely don't know it's not real..you must have seen them in your neck of the woods!

Ended up i bought one for me and one for Cathy's dad..he came over
several times to give me his opinion on a few projects I wanted to
undertake and as he wouldn't take anything I thought I'd treat him..
On way home dropped off both gifts and omg Ann had a friend visiting
and I even joined them for a wine cooler! There went my evening..

Must go feed the furies and do a few things outside before retiring for the evening.

Judy, as always I feel right there with you when you recall your times with Thunder. I thought she had her nails professionally done..wow, one talented lady..more so when I see the beautiful ratings you were given.

Judy - my eyes are a bit swelled up with happy tears ...from reading that you loved Whirligig! signed it ! Loved it ! Yay ! makes me so so happy ! Love Thunders nails... how in the world did she do that herself? I can never do my right hand....with ONE color !

Barb - hoping you will love Whirligig too. I know Betty wanted a chance to read but we have two making the rounds... I think so not sure... Dianne had a Whirligig... think she might be sending hers to Betty? Betty had a book sending to Laura... Dianne may not have sent hers yet due to Canadian postal strike ?

Betty - I just know that Paul is smart enough to not want you to leave because of how wonderful you are with those clients of yours... sure they need a shoulder and know you are there to offer one.... that's why he'll keep you forever or until you just realize he's trying not to let you go ! LOL....
GOOD ADVICE on the kiddos... Tough Love... I need to write that on my Mirror... will go do that asap.

Crissy - boys hitting stuff (IMHO) is pretty normal... I do think these boys that are 18-19 or so have so much testosterone raging through they just have to have an outlet. LOVE the DH Fishing trip... Catch some fish and Lose the attitude ! Don't want to be too available for a job call anyway... make them think he's out working on something important ! Re: the cousin... I have a young friend like that. We communicate now on FB... .and it's working that way... she has a tendency to talk all about her problems and need for money... and I just try to be a shoulder. But at least she won't show up at the door...

Deb - sure DRs have thought of this but a Thyroid check? Love "Mama's a LLama" ... sis gave son that book years ago... we still have it somewhere .... Funny... in a rage... I took DS's doorknob off his door a year ago. It's still off... but now the door is warped from DS trying to shut it... if he does ask to fix it ... I'll say... "Sure .... YOU Can fix it".... doubt he'll have the $$

Boy you hit the nail on the head with "Smile and Charm"... that's one thing DS has always been able to do... he does know the right thing to say.....

Yikes LindaKay described it wrong, it's a Little unit you put into any plant you have and it has a micro wire that is barely visible to hold the butterfly and twirls so that the butterfly looks like it's hovering around the plant

Bought something similar when I wintered in ft myers a few years ago just not quite as good!

Mary, I am already on thyroid meds. I called to make a doctors appt....but they are now closed Wednesday evenings for the summer, so will call on my way to PT in the morning.

Not staying up late. Been a busy day and laying with your feet on the back of the couch elevated can be draining! lol

Tonight Greg was having to drive 150 miles to pick up Kyle ..all are at the cottage and Kyle has to work tomorrow and Friday ..Greg promised that if he did get a call for work he would pick him up..parents have such commitments when their children take on jobs

Awe Betty ! Difficult to be upset with Missy when she is just 'taking care' of you... bringing you food. Worse was when pregnant with DS... my cat Ginger would bring many 'treats' to the door...

Would be great when we've all read it... to send it when new folks pop on as a "welcome" ... it is a quick read but I had to read several times to 'get' all the references.... Dad, his DW, son and I all talked tonight... and "from the sounds of it"... my best hopes are being realized ! They said he was wonderful. He's helping Dad. All is well. They want to come to Alabama but I feel that's asking too much... so think I have them talked into Crestview FL... there is a Cracker Barrell there and I can treat them all to lunch (if Dad lets me)... there's also a Lowes if I need to kill some time....

I have three boys, and only one of them has ever hit stuff....I think he has broken every bone in his right hand at least twice!! punched a windshield once !! broke his hand, and cracked the windshield!!! had a very bad temper !! but he has learned to control it....sure took a long time ....and a few psychologists and a number of different medications..... ..He was diagnosed ADHD at about 6 yrs old...and many other diagnoses-es followed.....He has "grown" tremendously !!! been Medication free for about 6 years now...... talk about "fun" teen years!!! OHHH boy !!

MAry don't fret I have Whilrigig here but still cannot mail anything at our local post offfice. As soon as they starat it will be off to Betty. Glad things are going well with your DD and DS.
Going to try and grab a couple of hours sleep , have to get WArren up at 4:30 am to be in Kingston at the hospital for 6am.

Whirligig has been traveling for a few months! It sounds like a wonderful read.

Yes - Thunder... DS was diagnosed ADHD... as was the nephew who is in PT for punching a wall... maybe that's the pattern... DH said he was never like that....

But I dont' think it's very unusual... the boys they get pent up frustration and angry....

Dianne - I'm not in a hurry... not at all... send the book when you can... you have a lot on your plate and I'm just glad you read and enjoyed it....

Mary, sounds like the bonding between your son and your dad is going exactly as you had hoped.
You just had to say you were going to a CrackerBarrel didn't you!! Perhaps they really do want to get out of town and come visit for a few days..don't discourage them..your son drives right? he could share driving with grandpa!!!

Here I am all on my own, now that everyone is starting the new process of working from home when no appt..s it's a bit lonely..will have to ask Paul when the official date I can start to do same?? tomorrow would be a good day to start as they are calling for A+ weather for the next 4 days..if I had to be in the house to answer calls I could sew and make myself useful.

Suzanne just called, she's running late but that's ok as she was here yesterday and makes her own hours..she's bringing my other SIL Marg to the office for the day..we'll all go out for supper, early movie..guess I'll be entertaining her...didn't know she was coming so brought in some panels to paint for the washroom..started them ions ago and feel it's either scrap the project or get them done; likely a bit more than 1/2 done..

Betty, do they have other items, like maybe a hummingbird? I have searched the internet, even ebay, and there are no butterflies like that in the US. All are in Australia, England, or China.

I did see them in USA..they have red and blue and multi colored ones..might pick up a few more and have them on hand for....swaps maybe??? lol

I have seen the ones in the jar.But not like Betty has, that would be too cool to put outside and see if real butterflies like the fake ones.

Goodness - it's only 9:30 and it's already 19c! It was supposed to rain today (40%) but now they're saying 20% chance........... it's so hot! Promises to be hotter than yesterday.......

Rough morning here, been on the run.

Our little community got the news that one of our Marines was killed yesterday. There was a helicopter crash at Camp Pendelton in California....and Trevor was on that. He graduated with my daughter Carrie. The community is just in shock. He was such an awesome young man.

Continued prayers for Dianne & Warren. I have to go get some food in this house before the heat climbs too high!

I'll be thrilled to get them, I've been at a stand still with the 3 - 12 month Christmas row quilts I started in the spring so will be doing the happy dance..no way, not going to share lol
