Best/Worse/What did I learn today/Chat with friends!
Gorgeous Debbie..look at that little Angel...too cute!!!bet your gardens are in full bloom??
It's been awhile since you and I met up, I'm in a swap and postal service is back but so backed logged that nothing is going through, keep thinking it's time to do a Debbie run!
Aw Debbie I got distracted by some shiny thing and you beat me here! LOL
Ha! You beat me too Debbie!
Awe, Betty he is so cute! I just love baby animals. How are your fish doing? Have you seen any of them yet?
What a cutie!!! Adorable!!
Awe soooo cute.
Ohhh Betty, so cute! You know I have a "llama issue". Have one sitting here on my desk gift from Mothers Day from "the child". Several of the kids call me "Llama" and not Mom. Remember the book "Is your Mama a Llama?" Guess I read it one too many times!
If you want to meet up....let me know when and where.
The "ladies" which includes Dianne...have been busting me on the Pets thread about my "short attention span" and "Ohhhh shiney object or Look a bird" and my attention is GONE! Perhaps I have been a bit flighty....lol Imagine that.
Yes Betty, my feet/legs are swollen as bad if not worse than before. Called the office and they have me laying with feet elevated above my heart. IF not better in the morning I have to call and make an appointment. I have PT tomorrow also...so will talk to AJ and see if he can recommend exercise or something also.
Debbie and I share the same afflication - get distracted easily and anything shiney or whirling is bound to grab our attention no matter what we are doing. OMG Debbie could you imagine you and I in the same classroom as kids?
LOL You two would be in trouble all the time!
Crissy we get in enough trouble now being across the "lake" from each other! I can't wait to get my "enhanced" to go over there!
I can hardly wait for my sis to get over here. This waving across the lake is for the birds. I'll be sending you a BIG wave tomorrow morning Debbie, still not sure what DH's OR time is.... nothing like waiting till the last minute.
Back from lunch..
make us a threesome, easily distracted as well!!!
Can't believe your feet could possibly be any larger than when we did the trip, shaking my head, don't you be waiting much longer to insist on more tests...think I asked the other day Debbie, your birthday is in a few weeks, have you sent all the info for the enhanced??? please say yes
LindaKay, you asked about the new office..present tenants don't have to be out until August 1st. but if their office is finished and they move quicker then we get the keys. That being said, we would have to have it painted, telephones switched over and a few new pieces of furniture ordered as much of what we have is too bulky..worse case senerio is August 5th would be moving day....on a good note, Melody (llama co-worker who works out of Peterborough-2 1/2 hr. drive) would be doing applications for me, Paul told her yesterday that she'd be working from home unless clients were booked into the office-same as the rest of us) soooo guess he's got it in his mind that all staff will work their schedules as they see fit..wonder if I can NOT book appts. for Monday/Friday and just have a 2 or 3 day work week at the office..lol
As for my fishies, I went to the Garden Gallery today, was thinking the pond was getting a little murky, he sold me a box of bio which I put in the waterfall component and he said it will clean it up a bit but not to expect that it won't have a 'tea' color to it, and here I thought it would be crystal clear..so I bought a box, not cheap and will put it in tonight. Asked about them not coming out, he said with this heat and all the slate, that they are loving being under the rock ... late last night when I did my garden walk I did see the same orange fishie..the other 2 pretties, they just don't come out to play!!!
I promised my going to the Garden Gallery would involve walking in, getting what I needed and walking right back out...the pond area is in the very back, of course where they were unloading shrubs..the young lady had 6 astilbe which has the richest red/maroon flower topping that I could not resist..almost bought 2 but said nope, not at $18.99 each, especially when I'm not even sure where to put it..so tonight I'll look around and plant..hope it's somewhere that I can enjoy..what is nice is astilbe come spring/fall can be divided and soon I'll have many of this vibrant colored plant.
Friday when I picked Ann up she was showing me where she would love to put a lilac bush and knowing her birthday is Saturday I thought I'd buy a lilac for her..they weren't nice at the Garden Center so thought I'd take the long way home and stop near Elmvale and see if they have some..if they do I'll drop it off to her instead of leaving it at my place and having to water.
Susan, didn't win at 'bingo' boo hoo, no riding lawnmower for either Ann or I..not sure why I'm big on the rider because I don't even cut my grass..lol..maybe Cathy would like one though.
Well Dianne, you might have trouble getting her to your place..lol..going to highjack her, unless of course you don't mind 2 for the price of one...her cross over and I'll drive her to visit...
Here's a really cute site I read about today in The Toronto Star.
www.thestar.com/living/article/1020227--toronto-kiss-map-plots
Betty do you have a spot you could add?
Dianne, heading down to Front Street for sure..look at those kissing areas... for your info Crissy we were right among the place to be, how could we have missed out??? hmmm
Must bring Norm and Barb there so they can smooch and mark their corner..lol
When will hubby be home Dianne?
very pretty flowers
Laura, they turn out to be large shrubs...
Sorry to hear your community garden isn't doing well...you were so looking forward to crops this year.
Yes love Astibille. Planted 8 new ones this year - got the starts from Breck's. They are all doing well so ovbiously the chippies and deer do not like their taste. What a relief! I am heart broken over all the new Iris and Day Lilies they chewed up.
Do you have all the color Dianne?
I spend quite a bit of money a few years ago after seeing all of Bev's beautiful lilies, they were gorgeous then the blight of lily bugs started and I've lost everyone..no sense replanting right now...
If it's not deer/chippies it's bugs
Hi!! Here I am...
Sorry to post and run, I was wisked off for a bike ride. Steve was not excepting my not going.
I t was a lovely ride and I did enjoy it...We ended up going to the Broken Oar with Brittney and Brian, met with our friend Paul...
Great food and lots of music!!
So, as you all know Thunder and I were trying to link up since Thursday. Friday was the ceremony, so we had planned for Saturday.
Friday, I made potato salad in anticipation for our BBQ...
Now, everyone here was in the know of this visit since we set it up a couple of weeks ago. Well, Plans have been being made and we all got caught up in the excitement of the fire works display at Arlington Horse Track. We did this last year and decided to do it again.
Tickets for the event have to be ordered in advance, so next thing we realized, it just happened to be the exact day Our Meeting with Thunder...OH, gosh, instantly my heart sank, so not good!! Well, Steve & I were toying with ideas of how to make this meeting happen! Then Thunder and I were also making alternative plans they would come here for the BBQ and we go from there.
Well, One thing led to another, and They were stranded at the Hotel...Well, as I have always known, never give up hope, where there is a will, there IS a way!! So, while pouting, praying and brain working over time, Ha, I devised a plan!! If we could just go and get them, they could come to the tracks with us, easy peasy right? Well, DH was being a big poopie head, said he couldn't get them as he had to finish up the paper work!!! Ack...OK, then, I asked Jake to ask his friend about a cab service, how much to go get them?? Yikes, 50 bucks, but he would give a discount...Quick counted up my change, grr only had 15, not enough!!
OK, then, keep on working...brain turning, Ahhhh, Anthony awoke, nice time!! Hey Anthothy, how'd you like to take a ride and pick up my friends??? LOL, said he'd do it for a ice cold bottle of pop!! Woohoo, I could afford that....LOL...
We could at least have our BBQ. Well, then Steve printed up tickets and as we discovered, we had 5 extra tickets!!!...(my brother was suppose to come-didn't ) Ohhhh, excitment, once again swelling in my heart, called, Thunder. hehehe, blabbing my idea a mile a minute.
Paced the floor awaiting their decision: OHWAH!!! Plans finally worked out. Anthont jumped in the shower...meantime, Steve's says you got the address? Im' actually finished so lets go! Now it was too late to have a BBQ, Races were going to start soon...
We arrived at the hotel in about 20 minutes!! We were greeted with Thunders fantastic Smile and Gigantic Arm Wraps right there in the doorway...Thunders Arm Wraps are so Incredibly Powerful!!
We Met Dave and Momma. Thunder gifted me with beautiful earrings she made! And Whirligigs!!! Had to giggle, She had read it for the 4th time on the way to Illinois.
We got back to the house, made some sandwiches, and off we went to the races!
(know, Thunder posted some pics too)
Lots of Armwraps...Funny, you should all mention about being sisters!
This lady behind us asked exactly that...She was amazed as we told her we were of sorts, this being our first meeting.
Truly an amazing friendships we have all had opportunity through these threads, our second homes!
Our Bond was instantaneous...
Betty - sorry you and Ann didn't win.......... maybe I jinxed you?!?!?! lol
Dianne - prayers being said for your DH - he needs his independance, you're right!
it was quite a glorious meeting...
Betty, you know i love stories...And I really enjoyed hearing how Thunder got her Name, Wow, what an honor!!
Plus, I learned her birth name as well...
Alissa gave them a ride back to the hotel, so no cab was necessary! She's just a doll!
I am glad you showed the fireworks Thunder. I didn't take any...
But how Wonderful You, Dave and Momma joined us! Our day will forever be etched in my heart...
The next day we had our BBQ!! We met Stephanie and I got to see some photo's from Thunders tiny computer!!
lol, i really want one of those.
Thunder's fence is incredible! She has a ribbon for each and every day...
You know, it is the greatest feeling, actually seeing how Proud she is of her Sons!! I got to witness it first hand
and wow, she sure has every right to be, her son's are remarkable.
We hated to part but they needed to hit the road. We wrapped arms again and again all the way to the car.
The fourth of July, I awoke and read the Whirligigs!!! OH MY, Mary, just love it...will be reading it again before I pass it on.
LOL, told Julia about it and I think she is going to read it too, Sabrina has already read it, see, just knew i've seen the book here at one point or another...But I love that we are all passing this one around...Who's next??
...you bet, Thunder signed it, Me too!!
OK...So, i have been trying to read and catch up from the other room...
Debbie, You big sweetie!! I am so glad you went to the anniversary and was able to "survive" yep got to love the little ones to help with that!
I am proud of you girl.
Crissy, OMG, so glad you recognize Daves stresses...I think i'd have blown up at my DH right then and there. geesh, these guys.
oh glad you were able to fix your hair, I like it when you had the dark with the frosted kind of streaks...
LOL...got to go read some more...
Judy if noone else is in line yet, I would love to read it too. Or if you are already sending it on, could you ask them to add my name to the list? Thanks sweetie....
