Bummer. Liked him. He was great on the Odd Couple.

He was an excellent football player. Didn't & still don't watch sitcoms & reality shows on TV.

He was also great on the Miller commercial.

Pro football players seem to be dieing young. Of course those with the heavier waits are more prone to heart trouble.

True...and basketball players have heart problems because of their height.....

Older football players took a beating with concussions, etc. The helmets were almost useless.

How about leather helmets? That's what my DH wore in high school......

I've downgraded my Mets rating to ZZZ. Outlook is Horrific.

Very hard to watch them! I would say they are lacking a closer....oh, & a bunch of hitters, too.....Ike Davis coming back is not going to solve their major problems!

And the Sox seem to be taking lessons from the Mets on playing in Sep. Ouch. Lucky for them the Rays played the Yanks.

Oh, those woeful Mets! I have no hope for them, even when the injured return.....

Too many kids playing other sports. Not enough baseball players to have talented ones for as many sports teams of any type. Little league & other childhood coaches turn them off. I know it happened to one set of grandkids in soccer.

As a Red Sox fan, I've been going to bed very unhappy the last few weeks. Lately it's been all about hoping that other teams beat the Rays and the Angels instead of hoping that the Red Sox would win their own games. Even if they get lucky enough to find a way into the playoffs, their pitching is so bad right now that I don't think there's a team they could beat in a playoff series.

gsox - i am hoping they turn around as quickly as they did at the beginning of the season - they are too good for this to continue. pitching is a concern.

I'd feel a lot better about the Red Sox if Buchholz was able to pitch. Lester and Beckett are the only two starters that can be relied upon and both of them have had their issues lately. The big problem is that both Wakefield and Lackey have been terrible and Bedard is one of the most fragile pitchers in baseball. Every time they take the mound its like spotting the other team 6 runs. But I am holding out hope for a turn around too. That hope is all I have left for this team this year.

Buckholz is throwing again - maybe available for bullpen help if they make it to post season - a few innings of good relief before Lackey gives up six or more would help.

They certainly have not looked like a playoff caliber team anytime lately.

Yep, they are just 5-16 in the month of September which is terrible by any team's standards. The crazy thing is that in those 5 wins they put up a total of 66 runs! They had scores of 12, 14, 18, 4, and 18! So as long as they score a dozen runs or more they do fine.

On the flip side, they have only scored 56 runs in the 16 games they have lost in September.

Wow - Sox now tied with Rays. Incredible September collapse. Just like the Mets a few years back.

Gad....didn't think the Sox could be compared to the hapless Mets!
