OK so Judy and Steve came to the hotel to pick us up Saturday !!! Big time rescue (thanks again Judy & Steve) we went to their house for just a bit, then we went to Arlington Heights Race track !!! for races and fireworks!!! I had never been to a horse race before (except county fairs)

It was Awesome to meet them !! Armwraps were FANTASTIC ^_^ Judy said I must tell you she remembered her teeth !!!!

We "connected" immediately !!! and My Momma also thinks they are great people!!

Never did see any of your photo's Crissy from Memphis...I was so sad that I mistakenly pressed erase while viewing on my wyay home!

I took a "special" picture today........ looks almost like snow, doesn't it?
It's the "fluff" that's spreading all around the city - not sure if it's poplar, or cottonwood trees, but it looks like snow...... and it's getting into Everything. Don't want to open the doors for it getting into the house.
I'll see if the other pic I took, of it floating on the breeze, "took".

Oh shoot, I'll have to look those up tomorrow, guess I got busy and forgot!

Well, the "snow" in the breeze pic didn't turn out, but guess what I found yesterday?
It's a White iris! I didn't remember planting it, and I thought maybe it was a "volunteer" carnation.
I'm so pleased with this!

Susan not sure I've ever seen anything like it..pollen?? Yikes there will be a lot of people with allergies sick..I would think it would be all over everything..

Betty My Momma will be so very thrilled you said this !!!! she just told me, as we were both in the mirror at the hotel getting ready, she was disappointed "that all of you children look like your father's side of the family, it's a good thing that your grandmother was a good looking lady", "but I always did wish some of you had looked like me", when I got home and looked at this picture....I thought "wow we look alike!!!" Now you say it too!!!!! she will be thrilled !!! she has not seen this one yet...

And here's the rose bush I hacked back last year because it was one long branch, with a bunch of leaves and a few flowers at the top. Now it's 2/3 the size and Look at the blooms! Many more than I ever had, and I don't know if you can see all the buds, but there are a Lot!

Beatiful Susan, especially with the orange/red behind it. Don't you love finding newly opened plants everyday in the garden!

yes Betty - and the white iris is one of 2 irises I've never had bloom before this year - the other one was a dark, dark purple one, and I thought I took pics of it too, but now can't find them - it was a compact plant - 1 1/2 ft tall, and this white one is a tall one - about 4ft tall!

When we moved here, as I said, the bush was very "stringy" and had obviously been here for years and years. The base was very clogged with overgrowth, and dead branches. I cleaned it all up and added steer manure - this is the result!
hahaha My neighbour said she thought I'd never get any more roses because I'd hacked it down to the bottom. She likes to say "absolutes" but she doesn't know gardening like I do. She told me a native Manitoba bush wouldn't grow here, and that's why I couldn't find it in Calgary. I had to go to Winnipeg to get one. Well, it's doing just fine lol It's an Indigo Bush.

Here's a pic of my Waterton Mock Orange bush - it just has buds on it right now, but just Wait until it blooms! It never gets any oranges, but the blooms look and smell like orange blossoms
